Three weeks prior I had cleared a blockage using rented equipment from Home Depot while replacing cast iron drainage piping in the crawlspace, this had allowed our plumbing to function so we could move in. The rental cost was $58 for the power auger and $22 for the pipe cutter for this project. Having originally suspected a vent stack obstruction before the work I did myself three weeks ago, I had called Nelson plumbing for a price and was given pricing around $300, so at the time the DIY route seemed more cost-effective. This past week, the pipes had again become blocked. This time, backflow was apparent from the driveway cleanout so I knew that the equipment rental cost would be the same, but professional services would be less costly without the need to access the roof. Having reviewed other reviews for Nelson I expected a cost of $80 to $100, so the cost of hiring someone who would have more expertise wasn't significantly greater than the cost of DIY. I called Friday after lunch time and set up an appointment for Saturday morning, but they were able to move the appointment up and came out Friday evening about the same time I got home from work. The technician was very thorough and made sure the best flow was achieved (where I may have stopped to return rental equipment when I achieved clearange of the blockage) and informed me about the condition of my pipes (which I would not have been able to assess on my own). I also followed up with the owner on Saturday morning to get a quote for replacement of the sewer pipe, which I plan on doing (hopefully this can be done when our budget is prepared for it rather than sooner). He was very honest in telling me that I didn't need major work done that would cost a lot. He was very nice and didn't try selling me something I didn't need.

It went very well. The plumber stayed longer to make sure that I was satisfied with the job. He repeatedly called me in to show me how well the shower was draining. He cleaned up any mess he made and gave my plumbing a quick inspection to make sure everything looked good.

Aaron , the plumber came out to do the job. He did an excellent job. This was a big job. The new shower works great. Aaron was very proffessional and a very good plumber. I bought all of the fixtures and a problem came up that two parts were missing from the box. Aaron took the time to call the store, and he picked up the missing parts and came back the next day to complete the job. Nelson BROS. did not charge me for the phone time , the picking up of the parts and for the second trip. I would highly recommend this company for plumbing work.

They are very prompt and reliable. I think that the prices are fair and they do very good work.

They've been around a long time and I've found them to be very dependable. On one occasion, I called them at 7:30 in the morning and they were at my house by 8:00. So they're obviously very responsive to my needs. They aren't the least expensive but you get what you pay for. Their work is always of high quality.

Plumber showed up on time and was courteous. I called Nelson out to snake the main sewer line because I was getting minor backups because of roots. The plumber was able to snake through to the street. However, the plumber did, in my opinion, exaggerate the extent of "infestation" of roots in the line. I have had the line snaked a number of times before and have seen plumbers work harder and take a lot longer. What made me suspicious was when he mentioned that I would eventually have to get the line replaced and to make sure I keep Nelson Brothers in mind. Granted, the line is probably the original (60 years old) so it will need to be replaced in the near future, but I felt he was over-exaggerating how damaged the line was (because he did it relatively fast without an extended amount of effort). I have used Nelson in the past, but with a different plumber who I really liked. I guess I'll have to make a personal request for him next time!

One of Nelson's plumbers arrived about 30 minutes after the scheduled time. He was courteous and professional. He ran the camera down the entire line to inspect for damage while I watched the video monitor. The inspection found no problems. He also located my connection to the city sewer using a detection device. The entire process took about 1.5 hours. Nelson Brothers also provided me a video tape of the inspection.

They have kept our heating unit going way past the time that it would normally last. They are very nice and come right out when we call them. They helped us avoid a huge bill with another solution, such as replacement.

The cost, I really can't remember. I liked that they come when you call them and they get the job done right. I don't think that the price was very high at all. I found them in the Yellow Pages, I believe.

Employee was on-time and very professional. Explained what he was doing. They were able to clean my line after having a more unscrupulous plumbing company come out and tell me I needed to replace my line for $8,000! Great company. Strongly recommend.

Because the work was extensive, they called out their supervisor/owner, Dick Nelson, to describe the work needed and develop a quote. He provided references right in the neighborhood and encouraged us to contact them. The work required a deposit and city permit and bond and took a few days to get started, but once it did, the project went well. When we asked whether it made sense to go ahead and do more while they were there, Nelson was quick to say that he doesn't ever recommend more than he really thinks we need. We were satisfied that our money was well spent.

The work was very good, you could tell he's been doing it for a while (46 years). He even called ahead to say he might be early and we said it was okay and he got here even before he said he would be there. He came out on the same day we called him.

A previous do-it-your-selfer made a complete of the wax ring around the toilet. Flush = flood! I called Nelson brothers that evening and the guy was out early the next morning--as promised and after a courtesy call alerting me to his arrival. He was timely, quick, courteous and NEAT! The work was fabulous and he left it so clean!

Really good work at a great price. These guys not only care about profit but helping people solve their problem. Much better than their competition Thorton and Grooms who was six hours late, the last time we used a plumber, which was back in April.

They're very expensive, but they got the job done and gave me peace of mind. They were only here 15 minutes, but I was happy to have it fixed. He knew what it was right away, and at that point I didn't even care about the price.

Not only were the technicians diligent and courteous (6 of them were out to my house) but the owner actually came to my house several times to diagnose the problem and make sure the repairs were working properly. I feel it was priced extremely fair considering they had to hand dig a large clay trench under an overhang and had to replace pipe in all four directions in the yard. The quality of work is excellent. We have had some major rain storms and everything is draining fine. They were respectful to my family and answered all of my questions without making me feel dumb. Overall they are a professional, honest company that I would recommend to everyone, including my mother!

THIS COMPANY WORKED US INTO THEIR SCHEDULE RIGHT AWAY. I FEEL THAT THEY OFFER QUALITY WORK AT A FAIR PRICE. THEY ALSO GUARANTEE THEIR WORK. THEY ARE ALWAYS FRIENDLY AND POLITE.

WE HAVE ALWAYS HAD REALLY GOOD EXPERIENCES WITH THEM AND WE DON'T REALLY USE ANYONE ELSE. THEY DON'T CHARGE ME EXTRA TO COME OUT ON SATURDAYS, BUT THEY WILL ON SUNDAYS BECAUSE THAT IS THE ONLY DAY THEY ARE NOT OPEN. THEY DO A GREAT JOB.

I LIKED THIS COMPANY A LOT. I THOUGHT THEY DID A GOOD JOB AND THE QUALITY OF WORK WAS GOOD. THEY WERE PROFESSIONAL AND I DID NOT HAVE ANY PROBLEMS AT ALL WITH THEM.

I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY TO ANYONE. I ENJOY THEIR SERVICES. I HAVE USED THIS COMPANY FOR OVER FORTY YEARS, AND PLAN ON KEEPING IT THAT WAY. I HAVE NEVER HAD ANY PROBLEMS WITH THIS COMPANY.
