Repairmen was professional and polite. It took two visits to repair the machine because a part needed to be ordered.

They never showed. I called around 4 to say that I was home and to find out the status. I was told "he should be there shortly" No one ever came. Around noon the next day, they called and said that the service person never received the paperwork. I called them the next day but they couldn't get me in until 2 days after that. I've been a customer for 11 years. I've paid for expensive service calls even when they came out and said they couldn't fix things. The only gift here is that I found a wonderful, efficient provider to use instead.

My latch/handle broke on my Kitchenaid diswasher. Dishwasher is about 5-6 years old, and it is used 3-4 times per week. I called Berkley Appliance on Monday, February 8, and I spoke with Jim. He took down my model number and told me he would order the part. We arranged a service call for February 11, and Jim said the part would be in by that date. So, the morning of February 11 rolls around, and no one shows up. Jim gave me a window of 9-12, and I called the office at around 11:30 asking for the status of my service appointment. I spoke with Mike, and he told me (1) I was never scheduled for a service appointment on February 11, and (2) the part was ordered but it would not SHIP until February 18. After wasting my whole morning, I spent my entire afternoon calling different appliance repair companies. I finally called Berkley Appliance back around 4 p.m., and I asked them to cancel my parts order. The third man I spoke with (sorry didn't catch his name), had no record of my order. In fact, he called me back 5 minutes later to ask for the spelling of my name and whether I used a different phone number of my order because he couldn't find it. My family has used Berkley Appliance for years, and that is why I called them. I won't use them in the future.

Washing machine repair went well. Provider cleaned the dryer vent and left a huge pile of lint in front of my house.

On the first visit, Jim called approx 1/2 an hour before he arrived as requested and determined that the motor needed to be replaced. After he left, I decided to have it repaired though it is probably 20 years or so old and called in and ordered a motor. When Jim arrived to install it and was pulling the old motor out, he noticed that there one of the connections was partially broken. He reinstalled the old motor and found that it worked fine. So, he saved me the cost of a new motor and I have a dryer that runs perfectly. Jim called me later that evening to fill me in on the details of the fix. Timely, knowledgeable, professional service that saved me from buying a new motor. A great little company to work with, I'd highly recommend them!

The technician was here maybe 5 minutes total. He used my paperclip to remove a tiny bit of gunk from one tiny hole, THEN announced there was a labor fee of $48 for work performed IN ADDITION to the $59 for the service call. I told him no one mentioned this minimum $48 in addition to the service call fee when I set up the appointment. If I had known it would cost nearly double what was discussed by phone, I would have just paid him the $59 for the diagnosis and sent him on his way and fixed it myself. I understood the service call fee, but I had no choice since bringing in the entire stove to their shop was not practical. I just think that $107 for a minute with a paperclip is ridiculous! This is not the level of professionalism I expect from a highly rated company from Angie's List. I had to remind him about the Angie's List discount of 5%, even though I specifically called the company in advance to be sure they would note it. I will not use them again and do not recommend them.

Justin called before he arrived at our home, and it was like an old friend calling saying he'd be here in 10-15 minutes. He had such a pleasant, cheery voice. When he arrived at our home, he was as impressive in demeanor, as his voice was over the phone--very friendly and professional. It didn't take him long to tell us the timer had failed. He was very candid in discussing repair vs buy options. Justin is someone whose opinion we trust. He's friendly, professional, knowledgeable and honest. What more can anyone ask for? I would recommend Berkley Appliance to anyone even though we have chosen the buy option!!

Came out same day, repaired non-working fridge within a half-hour, and it's working great now. Jim was friendly, polite, and professional.

I will try to keep this brief. We start in late May before Memorial Day. My cooling fan kept turning on and off about ever 10 seconds, so I called for a service call. The tech was on time, diagnosed the problem and told me the part would need to be ordered. I was to be called on Monday with the expected arrival of the part. No call, so I called on Tuesday, they told me it would be next week and would call when it arrived. No call again, so I called and they said on back order, would be two more weeks. Repeat, no call, so I call, two more weeks. repeat again. repeat again. Finally after about 6 delays, I call again, and the part has arrived. They came out and the tech did a fine job. My beef is simple, if you want a good rating for customer service, call the customer when you say you will and follow up if the date is moved and let me know. The fact that I had to initiate all the contact to keep informed is sub-par service, especially when the part missed its expected arrival date 6 times and the repair took 2 months.

Absolutely no complaints. 100% satisfied Have used this company more than once and have referred them to my family and friends

I called on a Thursday afternoon, was told someone would be here to investigate the next day between 1 and 5, which was indeed the case (actually arrived about 1:15). Repairman was very friendly, knowledgeable, informative, and fixed the problem right away. I couldn't have been more pleased! I definitely will call this company again if/when i need a household repair.

They don't service LG appliances. Recommended Sears. Also does not service West Bloomfield.

I called Berkley Appliance on 6/2 to request a service call to fix a leak in our washing machine. It was not an emergency, so I was pleased to get it scheduled within two days (6/4). I requested and received a 30-minute advance notice before arrival so I could leave work in time to be home---very much appreciated this! The service technician Paul told me a leaking drain hose needed to be replaced, so he ordered the part, and told me it would take approximately three business days to come in He also said I could request an early, mid- or late day time for the return visit to install the hose. He came back on 6/10 to install the new hose. The total cost was $122.76, including the drain hose and both house visits. Paul was very personable and punctual, explained how the problem occurred, and answered all my questions. I would highly recommend him and Berkley Appliance.

Jim was very receptive and knew right away what problem I had been experiencing with my Whirlpool dryer. I told him that the dryer wasn't getting hot enough and he gave me step by step instructions on how to replace the old solenoids. Popped them in and voila working like new again! :)

On time, knowledgeable about the product and potential issue. Fixed efficiently and checked vent for safety.

I had somebody come out for appliance repair and I think that it was Berkley Appliance. The approximate cost of service was under 100 dollars. The staff that came out was fine. They were very prompt. They were very good. They found the problem pretty quickly and said I could replace it or even get a new washer. We opted to replace the part. I would just go ahead and give them 'A's all the way down on the grading scale.

Called this morning, and Paul came out soon after. Assured me the dryer was worth repairing (which I really wanted to know since it is older.). He took it apart in front of me, showed me what was wrong and clearly knew what he was doing. He was quick, knowledgeable, and in addition to his professionalism, he is the nicest person. It is nice to feel comfortable about having reputable people in your house! An honest company! Got the Company card on my fridge!

He recommended that I do not spend the money to have it fixed as the fridge was to old and not worth it. I appreciate his honesty!

It went fine.. Even though I'm not the handyman type, a screwdriver and some common sense was all I needed to do the work myself.

.Initially,unit was not cooling. They came out after 4 about days and after 2 visits were able to get it operating. Then the unit would work for a while and shut off because ice would build up and would not defrost. They came out again fix that issue. Lastly water was freezing in the bottom of the freezer compartment and also running out on the floor. They came out and unplugged the drain for the defroster so the water could run into the evaporator tray.

I was painting with oil inside of my house, while my wife started some laundry. I took a break to catch some fresh air, and I smelled a strong odor of natural gas, or butane. I was baffled as to what it was since we weren't doing anything that I thought would have caused this problem. I went down stairs and the odor got stronger and I narrowed it down to the fact that the dryer smelled awfully similar to gas and I immediately shut it off. At first I thought it was the motor burning out, and I was getting worried. We tried to run the dryer again and it got worse. I freaked out because I thought for sure this meant we had to buy a new dryer. I called Berkley Appliance, after hours, and Jim answered the phone and answered my questions politely and with precision. He told me that the chemicals of the paint actually reacted in a way that the dryer was giving off that sense of smell, and that it wasn't an immediate problem. I was completely baffled because I am a local painting contractor and I have NEVER had this problem!! I couldn't believe what I was hearing, and he put my mind at ease. He told me to run the dryer on "no heat" for 30 minutes and the problem should be remedied...as it was! I couldn't have asked for a better experience with this guy, and I am definitely going to be using his services (shall I required them), and I will definitely be referring him to my customers and my family in the future if need be. Super impressed, and the fact that he is a Angie's List member like I am, and he handled the situation with confidence, only makes it better. Thanks again!
