Selective Carpet & Upholstery Cleaning

I used an Angies List coupon for this service. I was contacted quickly via email by Selective to schedule cleaning. I received a phone call the scheduled day to say they had a cancellation and could come here earlier than scheduled. That worked great for me. Steve and Cory arrived and set up their equipment. They were very friendly and courteous. They asked if I wanted the furniture deodorized also. As that was part of the package, I consented. (A previous service I used added $60 to my bill for this service, which was nothing more than a spray-on) These two worked very hard. The furniture was steamed and scrubbed in multiple directions.The deodorizer was also applied The results were excellent. The work took about 30 minutes or so. On the way out, they even steam cleaned my area rugs. In the future, I would probably pass on the deodorizing, as that left an aroma I did not really love. I would definitely use Selective again. Good job, excellent results and a great crew. Thanks.

Scheduling was a breeze, very responsive on short notice, showed up at the appointed time, knowledgeable and professional employees.

The crew of 2 arrived at my doorstep early, having had a cancellation, which was okay. They asked where the carpet had problem spots to be treated. Unfortunately, there were about a dozen spots that I neglected to mention, in the dining room and entrance hallway. Also, there remains an obvious dark brown spot on the staircase to the basement, and several by the access door to the garage. I still have to work on getting these spots out. My feeling is that an entrance hall, an eating area, and those near an outside access door should be pretreated automatically, as those areas are naturally prone to being especially dirty. An area in the corner of the living room where water had leaked in also was discolored. The technician was kind enough to pull the carpet up there to see what was going on, and he did go over part of this area, which is now clean, but he did not clean the whole area. The water leak has been addressed, but that area is still stained. They explained that the dark discoloration around the outside margins of the carpet are due to the furnace not being correctly adjusted or from detritus in the ducts. They did a good job removing this in the bedrooms, but the same issue on the carpeted staircases was not addressed. Overall, the carpet looks nice and the technicians were polite When asked, they advised me that I had paid for 8 areas and just had 7 areas to clean, so I was able to have the basement indoor-outdoor carpet cleaned, as well. They gave warnings about possibly slipping on the hard-surface floors while the carpet was still drying, thanks, it was slippery! My underlay is very thick, and it took 3 days for the carpet to dry to the touch. That's all I have to report.

The young man was very nice and professional. He was late because another job ran longer than he expected, but he did call so I knew he was on his way. He also did an area rug in the foyer that needed cleaning. I'm happy with the way the carpet looks. He was fast but thorough. We discussed what furniture needed to be moved and what didn't, and I felt he listened to me. Even though this was a cut-rate price, I didn't feel I got cut-rate service! I was quite satisfied.

These guys were extremely professional, introducing themselves by name (which I always appreciate), attentively listening, and giving feedback and communicating well even before they began the job. I was skeptical about how clean my older carpets could get. Many stains we inherited from the last owner, and I didn't believe they could be removed, especially on the very white carpet in two rooms. I was impressed at the beauty of the carpets after the cleaners were finished -- a better result than I had expected -- most stains completely gone, some made much lighter, and a general brightness and newness over the whole floor. And, they were easy to talk to, professional, punctual (arriving exactly when they said), and scheduled me within a week of my contacting them. I'll use them again!

I will use them again. Kim was a pleasure to deal with and the two workers sent were excellent. They got out a spot in my finished basement that another company didn't completely remove two years ago. My 30+ year old berber looks new.

This is the second time I have used this company and it will definitely not be the last. They are very responsive to email, punctual, affordable and do a fantastic job cleaning. It is nice to be able to clean your carpets twice a year without having to take a huge chunk out of your bank account.

I'm embarrassed to say it had been over 10 years since they were last cleaned and, honestly, didn't have high hopes for getting out the wear/dirt patterns going up and down our stairs or at the entry of the bedrooms. But, there is no indication of there ever being any type of wear/dirt pattern anywhere! I was completely surprised! They were in and out in an hour and very polite, informative and accommodating. They were sure to wipe up any water on our hardwood floors from the process. I would definitely use them again and have already recommended them to friends. To explain my B in Quality rating, there were a few stains remaining in one bedroom that appeared as the carpets dried. They were not noticeable when the carpets were still wet. I have not contacted them about these stains and don't know if I will. If I was able to give them an A- (as opposed to the B) I would.

Crew arrived right on time that we requested. After they arrived told them we changed location we wanted cleaned. No problem. They moved all equipment into bathroom. Both technicians placed covers on their shoes so not to markup up our hardwood floors. Were very cautious not to mark up hardwood floors with vacuum hoses. Overall they did fantastic job would hire them again

Did a decent cleaning job but did not move anything until we came and checked and asked. Also, there were two or three stain spots in carpets whcih was the primary reason to schedule this service. They did not eliminate the stains. Overall, if you want a regular carpet cleaning, not a bad deal. If you have special needs, may not be worth it.

In the section for scheduling the service, I specified that the company was to contact me by phone and provided my phone number. Instead Selective Carpeting & Upholstery Cleaning chose to continue contact via Angie's List messages. Unfortunately, this resulted in an inability to communicate in a timely fashion. When I requested a refund, I was redirected to Angie's List. When I called the company to discuss the problems and give the company an opportunity for service recovery, Kim was rude and abrasive. She did not listen to my concerns and repeatedly told me the miscommunication was my fault. She refused to schedule the work and then hung up on me.

One man did the work, took his time and did it thoroughly. Carpet is white berber and hadn't been cleaned in a long time so was dirty. He assured us someone would come back and redo any areas which hadn't come clean. Two men came a week later and re-worked the high traffic areas in dining room, office and den. but the areas did not come completely clean. They were better, though. The men were friendly, professional and polite. Our only dissatisfaction was with the fact that the carpet didn't come clean. Berber usually does well with cleaning. We had some done during the summer in our place up north and it went from quite dirty to very clean. We had used Stanley Steemer and will probably use them the next time at home.

Service was great. Gentleman met us for the quote since we also wanted the carpet cleaned. Technician arrived on time, dressed and behaved professionally. Did a great job. Not sure what date they were out, but it was during the summer (perhaps July). So far the wrinkles have not reappeared and the carpet looks a lot cleaner. I would recommend them as we are happy with the job they did.

Job was done well, all areas that needed attention were taken care of.

They were EXCELLENT. First, my deal had expired at least 2 months ago and they honored it anyway. They called ahead, arrived on time. Two very personable gentlemen, one named Cory, (I am ashamed to admit I cannot remember the other man's name), came in, assessed the job. My carpets were EXTREMELY filthy, I have a dog with a dog door that is in and out all day and white carpets in living room. They got them immaculately clean, like new, moved all furniture etc, and were in and out in an hour. I will definitely continue using them and recommend them highly.

Arrived during the time promised - called prior to arrival Cleaned the carpets as promised and were highly efficient. Very nice and professional at all times

It was as expected, they did a fine job.

I was satisfied with the results although it took them 3 visits to achieve that. They are extremely responsive to customer needs. They sent workers out in pairs. The first two guys that were sent out were very professional but the next team that came was very unprofessional. I would not have them back. In fact, I had to call back to arrange the third visit. I asked for the first team come back to do the clean up. I reached out to the lady who organizes the appointments at the office and I'm sure she gave them feedback. They charged extra because the deal was for four areas; the living room, bedroom and stairway that were average. The fourth area they did was my basement, which was quite large. I thought the price was very fair.

06/2015 they were professional/ on time...very helpful with my questions and concerns with dog pee stains.

Well, how do I describe that interaction? There was a miss communication with the initial set up of the appointment so I had it noted one date and they had it noted for another and the days were wrong. When they sent out the confirmation I didn't notice they had the wrong date on it. So we rescheduled and then they didn't show up the second time because they had a mistake in house due to the holiday. The third time they came they were four hours late in coming because they had a truck break down. So I don't know that it's all there issue, it's kind of a comedy of errors, but it sort of sucked. They did not call we had to call them. The woman was real responsive. They did a good job on the carpet. They got through the whole house in about thirty minutes. They got the stains out but the carpets were still kind of soggy because they didn't take the time to do the full cleaning. It was not the best interaction ever.

Went quickly but I asked fellow to take items off of bed that they put on it when done. They didInt. Im disabled Senior They also didnt clean behind the door of the MBR or closet track ;-(

Excellent curteous service. Fast workers. My husband deals with carpet cleaners all the time and said this was the best company for quality workmanship and value out of 50 companies. Will absolutely use this company again.

There really are not a lot of details because he did the job in a manner, professional, and move furniture by himself. I will say that the gentleman's demeanor made me feel relaxed with is judgment and skills. I definitely would recommend him to family and friends.
