Selective Carpet & Upholstery Cleaning

It went well. They called in advance asking if they could come about an hour before the appointment. I showed them the shower. They ran hoses from their truck through my house and up to the second floor shower. They were finished in less than an hour. They were courteous, did a good job on the grout, and left no trace behind.

They were on-time, efficient and pretty quick. Did a good job cleaning the carpet but it was damp for two days.

Very good. I am very satisfied with the workmanship. Person who came to do the was very professional and on time.

The representative was great. He called before coming. Made appropriate recommendations. Got my carpet so much cleaner than it has been in years and was professional every step of the way. I will be using Selective again.

They aren't the cheapest, they charge $100.00 for an extra room. They were thorough, but I did have to go over some stains, even though they said they would come back. They were better than another company we used. The only issue I had with them, was they would not come when they say that they would. They need to work on their promptness. I am not happy with their promptness at all. I finally got an carpet cleaner, I did not want to spend anymore money. I would recommend them though. Friendly, professional, knowledgeable, they answered questions that I needed help with.

It was excellent. I've used them before. Very pleased with their service, a pleasant surprise.

Had to have them come back because a stain wasn't removed. Local company and good at what they do.

They did a good job. I would use them again. I think I had another rug cleaned so I think they charged me more. I think they were very professional and fast. The workers were good.

After one week, I had not heard from the company so I did not complete your survey. I contacted them and learned that they had a personal issue that required the people who scheduled to go out of town. We made an appt., On appt. day theyncalled to tell me that they were on their way, showed up on time and did an excellent job cleaning my 18 year old carpeting. They were very professional and pleasant men. I almost wish the carpet didn't look so great so I could justify getting new carpeting 😀. I will hire Selective Carpet & Upholstery Cleaning again!

Extremely poorly! I called 3 days later because my carpets were still soaked after having fans running on them and the windows open. They never bothered to call me back. There was deodorizer spilled all over one of my dressers and it was not mentioned to me. Several of the spots were not removed. I could have done a better job with my Bissell and had clean carpets and less hassle. They were more interested in selling me new carpet than cleaning what I've got. I've attempted to post this review twice previously and it was not saved.

They were great!!! On time and the carpets look like new!!

They were on time and did th work requested. Seemed like they were in and out...not much time spent trying to remove stains.

Carpet didn't come as clean as I would have wanted bUT was still very very clean and the service professional was happy to do 2 small area rugs as well. Very good service.

I had puckering/wrinkled carpet in my upstairs hallway and in one area of my finished basement. I wanted those area repaired. I had a hit-and-miss experience with this company. As for the GOOD: 1) They have a full-time receptionist (Kim) who is very helpful and answers all your questions. She takes the time to ask someone when she doesn't know the answer. I appreciated her help; 2) The carpet was repaired successfully, and it looks really good. As for the BAD: 1) Jason was my technician, He was over two hours late. He was supposed to arrive between 12-2 p.m.; he showed up after 4 p.m. 2) When Jason called me at 2 p.m. to let me know he was on his way, he complained that my house (in Bloomfield Hills) was "too far." I mean, he went on-and-on about it. I explained that Kim (the receptionist) told me I was in their service area (it was the first thing I asked Kim actually). He asked me (whined really) to tell him everything I needed done so that I could prove "it was worth it to come out there." I told him not to bother coming - I don't want someone in my house who doesn't want the work. But he could tell I was mad (I took the whole day off work), and so he eventually said he would come. 3) Jason said he was in Westland - I am not sure why it took over 2 hours to get to my house in Bloomfield Hills. I have driven that route a lot (I have grandparents in Westland). It usually takes an hour. 4) Jason arrives, I start moving furniture (no help from him), and he starts repairing the upstairs hallway. About 15 minutes into the job, he told me the carpet cannot be repaired without ripping the entire carpet up, steaming it, and using a power-stretcher. (BTW, he has none of this on his truck and will have to return another day). I told him to try again - as a Mom, I can tell you this sounded like a kid who will whine to get out of his homework assignment. Magically, after trying again, Jason did fix the carpet and it looks really good. 5) Jason also repaired the basement carpet. It too looks really good. But, he really banged up my baseboards badly. They are pretty thin/cheap wood to begin with, but one dent is deep it is actually a hole. 6) There is an area of torn carpet in the basement where Jason was re-stretching. I am not sure if it is a tear, cut, or he ripped up a seam. Anyway, I didn't see it until I was cleaning up later that night. I glued it down - it is in a corner. It's fine, but I wish he would have been more careful. Like I said, hit-and-miss. Results were good, but it was hard getting there.

This was a big deal purchase. I used them about a week after I bought the deal. They did a good job. He was very sufficient, He was quiet and clean about it. He did a nice job. The person himself was very amenable, quiet and just took care of his business. I would say their price was pretty good.

The cleaning service was fine but the my sons custom made earrings came up missing after they left. We did not notice this until 1 day later. My sons left his earrings on top of his dresser, which I didn't realize (if so I would have put them up). Lesson learned thankfully they can be replaced. I hope the gentleman that STOLE them gets some good money for them. For this reason I wouldn't recommend them again and give them an F. No one likes a thief!!!!
