+ -1 moreThe technician came out and was unaware of the Deal I bought. He was somewhat astonished and had to call the office to see if the deal was real. That was a bit bizarre. He got the door lubricated, changed 4 rollers and it runs perfect. I asked about replacing the weather seal on the one car garage door and he quoted $170. Seemed high, so I skipped that.

+ -1 moreThe Tecnition came on time and looked very knowledgeable. After 30 min of inspection he gave me a quote for $674 for replacing the spring, hinges and 3 barriers. I mentioned I had a $79 off service fee coupon and he said that he’ll accept it. After one hour he completed the repair and I was ready to pay him. Surprisingly the total stayed the same and the coupon wasn’t applied. There’s another review on this company with the same complaint about their misleading Angie’s list coupon, I wish I would have read it prior so I would have avoided calling them in the first place. Was very disappointing to discover that since they are pricy and at least it would be nice to see a bit of a discount from that useless coupon.

When he presented me with the quote, I went into sticker shock. I simply could not afford an entire placement. After consulting another company, our primary need was a spring replacement.

Description of Work: Precision Overhead Garage Door Service helped me get my broken garage door up so that I could remove my cars. At the time I decided to have them install a new 16x7 steel door and chose CHI's "Enduring 100." I had to wait ten days for the order to come in and the door scheduled for installation. Cody and Steve were sent out to do for the installation. They called at 8am to advise of their arrival 15 minutes later. The installation may have taken an hour and resulting door is much better quality than the old door and operates more quietly. The door was entirely weatherstripped with high quality material. After assuring normal function with my garage door opener I was instructed about the proper care which included lubricating metal rollers every 4 to 6 months. After work was completed the site was entirely cleaned up and the old door carted away. I am very pleased with my new garage door and plan to contact Precision again in the future if new problems develop. The new door was not cheap but then is better quality than my old door and it comes with an excellent warranty.

+ -1 moreI called for an emergency repair. The door was knocked off the track and wouldn't close. I didn't want to leave it (and all of the contents) open to all passersby on the alley. I called and was originally given a an appointment window four hours later. When I explained the situation, they moved up the appointment. Mike arrived 45 minutes later. He had to bend the track back into place and replace several rollers. He explained that the track (which was over 20 years old) would have to be replaced because it had been structurally compromised. I also needed a new door. He provided a quote, and the cost of the repair would be applied toward the new door. I got three other quotes for a new door and ended up going with a lower quote. However, I was extremely pleased with the level of service I received.
Description of Work: Emergency repair of garage door. The door track was bent and the door fell off of the track.

+ -1 moreI call for emergency service on a Friday at 7:00 pm and a service man was at my house by 9:00 pm. That's good service. The service man checked my door and opener and found I had a very old system that did not have the required safety eyes. He said he wouldn't be able to replace the spring on a door without safety eyes due to a new garage door law. I had paid a $200 emergency service call fee and didn't get any repairs done due to a law I didn't know about. I contacted Joe Smith and explained my problem of paying for service and having nothing done. He explained to me that sometimes a customer will have this problem due to the new garage door law. He said he would refund my $200 because cases like mine sometimes happen and they want to make things right with their customers. He did refund my money. Now that shows that Precision Garage Door is a first class company and a happy customer is very important to them. I thank them for their service and I think others will be happy with their service also.

Description of Work: We asked Precision for an estimate on fixing our garage door. They gave us three ranging from good to better to best from $523.00 to $815.00. We ended up getting the door fixed by another company for $229.00. That was much better and that company did a great job.

They had done some repair work on the old door previously and had done a timely fix at that time, so I was happy to give them this job. The door had a broken cable and while they could have repaired it, I wanted a new garage door and picked a beauty with sunburst windows. When it came in, we set up an install date. I received an email confirmation of the appointment, as well as who would be doing the install. Steve called me the day of the install when he was on his way. They were on time, if not early. They were done in just a few hours and hauled away the old door and cleaned up the site. Steve reviewed the function and maintenance of the door and had me set the access code so we could test it out. I'm pretty happy with the whole process. I was notified either by phone and/or email at every step so there was no guessing what was happening when. Would certainly recommend them
