I was impressed with Mark Dewey from our very first contact. He repeatedly demonstrated his professionalism by keeping in touch with me between the time of his estimate and the time the work was done, over a two week period. Mark not only did high quality work--my neighbors and friends have also raved about my beautiful deck!--but also went the extra mile in various ways, such as power washing the part of the house between the deck and the patio below, washing my glass tables before carrying them back up to the deck, and more. I'm very pleased with the service he provided and will hire him again whenever I need a service that is offered by Kalamazoo Handymen.

Overall, we were very satisfied with Kalamazoo Handymen. We would absolutely hire Mark again in the future. Mark quoted on several projects within our home and was very open and honest with where his limitations would be. In areas where the repair work was more than he was able to provide, he made several recommendations for folks that he had worked with in the past. Not only was Mark, great to work with but in the areas we used his recommendations, they met or exceeded our expectations. Mark's attention to detail was great and he offered several solutions for each job quoted that met our requirements while meeting our budget. The painting that was completed gave new life to our home interior and exterior. In the event a surprise came up during the work, Mark was quick to pull me in, review what the outcome would look like and confirm I was comfortable with how the project was proceeding. Mark was prompt professional and the gentlemen that he had working with him was also very professional.

mark came and gave me a estimate with all the details, then he came and pressure washed everything great job. Then WX permitted he covered all areas not to be painted spray painted all railings, spindles, and deck did an outstanding job Seal coated my swing He used solid stain I re quested and give me back all unused paint I will difficulty use his services for other projects I need done

Mark is absolutely excellent to work with. He is very responsive to phone and email, and he arrives promptly. His work quality is excellent and charges are fair. We will definitely be using him again soon to take care of some other items around the house!

Excellent. The greatest thing was that I did not need to take time off work as Mark was willing to work with me by email and phone, and managed the whole project in this way. He also explained each detail to me very clearly.

Mark has always been timely. I think he understands the Marine Corps way of "if you are on time, you are 15 minutes late." He bills his hours fairly - does not charge me for any non-working time. His work has always been accurate and well done. He is enjoyable to have in our home. He doesn't show annoyance if my three year old is around talking with him. It can be difficult to get Mark as he has a busy schedule. I will keep using Mark unless I need something done ASAP and he is not available.

Mark was very responsive in getting back to me. He was able to get me onto his schedule with very short notice. We are going to be selling our house so we had a long list of random jobs including...electrical work(replacing two lights, fixing a nonworking outlet, remounting a ceiling fan) trim work(replacing the toe kick under our kitchen counter, replacing some trim in our foyer, replacing a plank in our hard wood floor, fixed a bedroom door that wouldn't shut) fixed a kitchen cabinet that had a broken hinge, caulked around the kitchen counter and around the bathtub. Mark worked quickly and neatly. I would not hesitate to use him again or recommend him to anyone.

I contacted Mark by e-mail and he replied straight back to me. Made an appointment for him to visit; he arrived promptly as arranged and assessed the repairs. He was very professional and honest throughout, told us what he could and couldn't do and gave a reasonable estimate. We scheduled two days for the work; again, he arrived promptly and began the work with minimal disruption, finishing in less time than his original estimate. I consider his work as outstanding and the price was even a little less than his overall estimate. I felt that throughout Mark acted professionally and carefully, took pride in his work, and definitely did not overcharge us or take easy short cuts. In all, a very impressive work attitude and a very polite gentleman to boot. Definitely using him again :-)

I originally called about 1 week ago and emailed him too. He got back to me in a reasonable amount of time but he told me that he was really busy and that he would try to squeeze me in for the following week when he had a chance. He then called me again a few days later and asked if I was available for a certain date but that the time would have to be in the late afternoon. I agreed to that and he called before coming to my place. He did a great job. A very friendly gentleman and considerate as he took his shoes off before walking on the carpet. I would definitely call him again without any doubt.

Mark was excellent at fixing the electrical issue, very reasonable, called before coming and very professional. Greatly appreciated his services and wouldn't hesitate to use him again in the future.

He kept in touch constantly as we had to work around the weather a bit, was prompt and there when he said he would be. The work was done well.

Everything went great! I had a long list of items that I had not been getting done. Mark came in and not only fixed everything I needed, but he also gave me suggestion on how best to take care of some of the items I wasn't sure how to handle. He cleaned everything up after the repair work and even made extra trips back to my house to put back deck furniture so I wouldn't have to do it. He came when he said he would come and finished everything very quickly. I would hire him again the next time I have work to do on my house.

I found Kalamazoo Handymen on mid-June, on Angie?s List. Mark Dewey responded immediately to my call and we set up a date for him to review my small bathroom in this 60-year-old house. My original request sounded simple?replace floor, toilet, and repair plumbing to shower. Mark quoted a reasonable price for this project ? BUT, after starting the work, it was obvious that the entire bathroom had to be redone. Walls were taken down to the studs. Sheet rock replaced the 50?s ?Jones paperboard.? Mark replaced the old cast iron tub?installed waterproof wallboard around the new tub (cut to fit around existing window); installed new floor, toilet and pedestal sink. Walls were painted, floor/wall & ceiling trim was installed; floor tiles were put in; and new light fixture & mirror were installed. Mark did a beautiful job painting & hanging two cabinets. He often had to use imagination and ingenuity to make some things work. For example, he installed the floor & toilet first, since there is only one bathroom. He had to ?retro-fit? much of the plumbing because of issues with the very old ?galvanized? piping. He had to measure very carefully for the floor/ceiling trim, etc. due to some ?settling? of walls. Mark is very easy to work with and very flexible with schedules. He works with an eye toward perfection and will do whatever it takes to get the job done! I love my new bathroom and plan to use Mark?s services again. I do not hesitate to recommend him to anyone in need of a multi-talented handyman professional.

Mark was great! He was articulate in his work, very detail oriented and did a wonderful job. The railings had to be custom built because they were both short - one level one and another going up just 4 stairs. These railings replaced older wrought iron ones that served no purpose at all and were horrible looking. What a change the new ones are! Mark built, stained and detailed them in his workshop. He made a few trips back and forth to be sure the measurements were right on and gave us suggestions we would never have thought of. We highly recommend Mark - he was in constant contact with us, there were many hours spent on this project and they were well worth it to us. The finished product is lovely. We highly recommend Mark, we would not hesitate to call him again.

Marks communication before during and after the repairs was outstanding. He arrived early made the repairs and was gone in an hour. We were very happy two have our front door working properly again. Mark also repaired an interior door as well. He's one of the best.

Will be using again, very happy with the work and the honest feedback on other projects.

Mark did a fantastic job working with us within our budget and schedule. The quality of his work is A-one! He repaired our old and tattered cupboard doors before priming, painting and reinstalling them. They now look brand new! Next he removed the old wainscoting and ancient wallpaper. He replaced the wainscoting with drywall, sanded the walls and repainted them and the kitchen ceiling using the colors we had chosen. With the new ceiling light fixture and the ceiling fan with light unit installed and Mark's expert repairs and painting, the kitchen in our ca. 1900 home looks wonderful! Our objective of giving it a brighter and more modern look couldn't have been achieved so easily without his expertise. Mark kept in touch with us the whole way. Everyday he told us what he was going to do and what he was going to do next. He cleaned up at the end of each and every day that he worked. If there were problems or changes to be made he let us know about them beforehand so there were never any surprises. He was always very courteous and had a professional demeanor. His prices were reasonable and he was amenable to on-the-fly additions to the work and told us up front how much more those would cost. Overall, he made the experience easy to bear. We'd recommend him to anyone and would hire him again without hesitation.

He was very good and made sure you understood all the details. He made sure that the trim work was replaced and that it looked seamless. He picked out a good door to my specifications. I thought he was very professional and though. His estimate was very close.

He was careful to measure for accurate location of fixture. Neat in his work and did a good job of cleaning up after himself. Since this was a new venture for me, he was helpful in providing all my options. I am very pleased with the results.

Gary and Herb were recommended to me by a co-worker/friend who had previously had work done in her home. I so appreciate her recommendation and value this dynamic duo (Gary and Herb)! They are true professionals and good people. They have an incredible work ethic, and I felt the pricing was very fair and appropriate. They take pride in their work, and their superior skill and talent is apparent from the initial consultation to the finished product/services. I was truly impressed with the daily progress they made, the cleanliness of the work environment and their knowledge about all things in the realm of construction and home repair. Their suggestions and decisions in the work environment were thoroughly explained and were in my best interest - They really care about their customers. They are extremely trustworthy, and I had no reservations about having them in my home while I was at work. Gary did miscellaneous electrical work in my home, and no task was too large or too small for him to take it on. I look forward to having him return in the future as I continue to update and make other home repairs. Herb was presented with a huge task! He had to remove previously and poorly installed ceramic tile and then install new flooring. As he worked, there were additional unexpected "issues" that arose due to the work by another contractor. He remained consistently positive and willingly fixed the mistakes left by another person. My flooring looks fantastic, and I am so pleased with the work that both Gary and Herb did for me! It is without hesitation that I recommend Kalamazoo Handymen Services!

Was the only repair person willing and able to come out the same day. Mark arrived on time. He was polite, professional, and thorough. Found and repaired the issue quickly and efficiently. His rate was very reasonable. He will be our go-to handyman for all future home repairs and renovations.

All repairs went smoothly, especially replacement of bathroom exhaust with a larger exhaust vent.
