Description of Work: American Flooring, Kevin in the showroom, was very professional, pulled items specific to my needs, and allowed me to spend a lot of time in the store. This company is very open to letting customers take home samples to try in the rooms you want finished. Kevin remembered me and helped me see the differences in the carpets available and spent extra time with me on my concerns to stay on budget, including working several different pricing options. This was a good experience overall and I'd use them again.

Description of Work: The owner, Yvonne, was extremely accommodating and patient. She spent a lot of time helping me make a decision. Everything was done efficiently and neatly. | |I love my flooring and I would use American Flooring again. I will also recommend them to friends.

Description of Work: Purchased hard wood (pre finished) for new bedroom build out and a variety of ceramic tile for the bathroom. Team was very professional and helpful. Very responsive to requests to measure and estimate and very helpful when we visited the store. Their delivery was as promised and they worked very hard to build a more personal relationship with my wife and me. Great folks and will certaily do business here again.

Description of Work: American Flooring was a little difficult to work with and not as helpful as I would of liked with our flooring. But they did take on several aspects of projects with subcontractors. Subcontractors were great, very knowledgeable and greatly appreciated their advice given.

Description of Work: Our decision to go with American Flooring--Okemos was the right one. It’s a locally owned business. We are very happy with our carpet (more than 2,000 square feet), the team of installers (Chad, Jason, and Scott), and the saleswoman (Yvonne). Yvonne was friendly and was helpful in narrowing the scope of carpet choices to fit our needs. She allowed us to take home samples and live with them for a few days; she ordered larger samples when we requested them. She clearly explained material content, cleaning requirements, and warranties. And there was no pressure to purchase. The team of installers arrived on time and worked through lunch for two days. They were polite and respectful of our home. Their work was clean and efficient, and the installation was excellent. We highly recommend American Flooring--Okemos.

Description of Work: We saw an ad by them in the community guide, outlining a "special" they had for carpet installation, free removal of existing carpeting, $99 whole house installation fee, free furniture moving with carpet purchase. We brought home samples, made choices, and asked a number of times if this "special" would apply. They assured us it would. We had them measure the area and give us an estimate. The estimate was larger than expected, and I asked for a breakdown of the costs. I was told that the labor cost would be approximately $1000, instead of $99, because our carpeting was "on sale". None of this was discussed initially, and there was no discussion of "conditions applying" on the ad or in our conversations. They stated that the conditions were in a brochure in the showroom, which we had not seen and was not prominently displayed. I argued that they should comply with the offer they had made, and they refused. I told them that their advertisement and our conversations sounded like "bait and switch". I then contacted the Better Business Bureau. I have yet to receive their finding.
