Thank you for your detailed feedback - we appreciate you taking the time to let us know. The technical requirements of the system are mostly based on your home phone line provider. In most cases, the system plugs directly into the wall phone jack just like an answering machine. However, with the changing landscape of home telephone lines (digital phones, cable bundles, internet phones, VoIP, DSL, etc) this sometimes requires our systems to be plugged directly into the modem. Increasingly, folks are getting rid of their home phone lines all together, and we are now offering a broader selection of cellular-based systems that don't require any installation other than plugging the system into the power outlet.
