They were very professional. Their customer service was good. They were very good. We ended up going with another equally professional company for a lesser cost.

The work crew of aproximately seven men showed up at 7:30 in the morning with several large pieces of equipment and began removing and hauling away the old deck. As this was being done gravel fill was brought in to level the entire area in preparation for the forms and cement. The entire crew worked as a team quickly and efficiently. Everyone knew what had to be done next so the job went smoothly and when finished met all our expectations. My wife and I were very impressed with the completed project and everyone has said what a great looking patio we have. Romana is a family owned and operated construction company and from start to finish they will do everything needed to satisfy their customers. It was a free estimate. They definitely were more professional than the other two people that I got a quote from. They had a lot more information. They were very polished.

Overall, the process went very well. On day one, the dumpster showed up first, then everyone else showed up. The old garage and its slab were demolished and in the dumpster in just a few hours (the dumpster was already gone when I went home for lunch). That afternoon when I came home from work, the crushed rock was already in place and they were just finishing up the concrete forms. The city came the next day and inspected the forms (passed with no issues). The day after that, the crew came and poured the footings and slab. They let it sit for 7 days to fully cure (we had some rain and extra cool weather). Once that was done, the framers showed up. Even with a couple rain delays, the framers were fast and did a great job. They went ahead and worked over the weekend to make up for lost time due to the rain. From start to finish the whole project took just a day or two over 3 weeks. Every one of the workers was friendly and professional. I would definitely hire them again.

They were A-1. Everything was great. They were on time and did a good job. They knew what they were doing. We had no complaints. As a matter of fact they did a little extra. The guy that quoted it had overlooked something and they did it and didn't change the bill. \

The team was efficient in taking out the old cement and prepping the area to install the new pad. The work was installed as promised with no issues and looks good.

The existing drive was trapping water against my garage, and the garage floor was sloped so water ran against the walls. I had interviewed four construction companies for this job, they ranged from six thousand to 20+ thousand. Romana being one of them, they also were recommended by my neighbors who had their drive done last year and highly recommended them. The job turned out really great and I am very happy with the work, efficiency, and professionalism. The salesman came out twice to talk to me about the job when I had more questions. The crew removed all the existing concrete and placed forms on day one, It was very hard work to clear out the concrete in the garage. The second day they poured the concrete and third day cut the slab into sections. The fourth day the mason came out to re-level all of my paver bricks that met the drive, his work is excellent and very thorough.The process was very well orchestrated. When I had questions or had slight changes, the foreman on site was receptive even though he was very busy. Also, because of my previous water issues I wanted a drain across my drive to handle the water. They recommend an alternate approach to the drain that saved me $500. Not a lot of other companies would suggest alternatives that takes money out of their pockets. I really appreciated that they would work with me on all aspects of the job. I would highly recommend this company for their quality work and their integrity, its a family business and many of the guys on the job have worked with this company for years. It speaks to how this company is run and how they treat people. I will call them again when I get my basement refinished next year.

They were excellent. They were each, individuals, that did the work and they never talked down about anyone. They cleaned up after themselves. They just did beautiful work. I was very impressed with them. People are very impressed with the work that was done.

The local cement company referred them to me as I was looking for a reputable contractor. However, when I looked them up they were on Angie’s List, there was even a coupon. They were excellent all the way around. Right from the start, from my first call they were involved and were pleasant to deal with. They went beyond by following up, stopping by and everything.

They gave me a whole list of referrals. It was a good experience overall. They didn’t do anything wrong. They did outstanding work. They were cost effective. It’s four years and there are no cracks anywhere. I would use them in the future.

Romana's quote was not the lowest we received, nor was it the highest, but seemed fair for the size of our driveway. We chose them based on their Angie's List rating. The crew was large enough to do the job in a reasonable amount of time, and they were very professional, friendly, and efficient. The way each person did their particular task fit together perfectly. There was a supervisor on the job the whole time who worked along with everyone else. I would definitely use this company again, and would recommend them to others. Super job!

Everything went like clockwork. I don't think I have ever seen a more perfectly coordinated team - almost as if it had been carefully choreographed by a master! The work went smoothly and steadily, and the overall atmosphere was one of enjoyment and fun! The work was done exactly as I had been told by Mike, who gave me the estimate. The first day, the team removed the entire old driveway, and then prepared a new foundation bed. The second day, the concrete was poured, spread, and smoothed - looked most impressive! The third day, Joe, the team leader and I think brother to Mike, came and cut the lines in the concrete, and then sprayed the entire surface with a curing spray.

They did a great job. They were prompt and efficient. They did some followup work like double checking the work to make sure it was alright and things like that. They were quite thorough. They found a reasonable solution which nobody else could figure out how to solve the drainage problem and they did. Their quality of work was very good. They were here right on time. I would do business definitely with them again if I had something to be done.

Received a Romana Construction Co. (313-928-1212 or 734-254-0790) quote for the work on July 7, 2011 with a proposed start date of July 25, 2011. In addition to the very detailed quote, copies of Romana Construction's Workman's Compensation and Liability Insurance and a list of referrals was also provided. The job was started at 1:30 pm on Monday, July 25th. with the removal of the old concrete and placement of forms. A thorough explanation of the process being used was given. The new concrete was poured and floated on Tuesday afternoon. with the final finishing completed on Wednesday, July 27th. at 1:30 pm as scheduled. The employees were very professional and arrived on the job as scheduled. Cleanup was done at the end of each work period.

They stamped the concrete with their name and the date which tells me that they are happy to have their name on their work where everyone can see it. I looked at about seven different companies and Romana was the most professional. They were willing to come out at my convenience, they were able to discuss all of the permits that would be needed, the provided proof of insurance and license, and they volunteered information about jobs that they have done so I could see the work they do. They brought a photo album that showed work they had done; they are proud of what they have done and they are happy to show it. It is a family owned company and they don’t subcontract out their work. They work with the same group of people over the years. I was happy to see that he was willing to get down on the ground and get dirty so that he could give me a good assessment about what needed to be done. He wasn’t the cheapest and he wasn’t he most expensive. He was professional and well-prepared, and everyone did what they needed to do like clockwork. They told me how to take care of it and they were extremely customer focused. So far, I don’t have any cracks whatsoever because they took all of the precautions they could. I would definitely recommend them to anyone that needs that work done.

Mike gave me the quote and it was exactly in line with what I expected. They coordinated a time to prep the site and pour which was no easy task considering the extremely wet spring. They exceeded my expectations.

Their punctuality was good and the person who came out was very knowledgeable and gave me additional ideas as to what needs to be done.

They gave me a time frame of when they would come out. It was raining on the day chosen. They asked if they could come another day between jobs (mine was small, and took no time). I agreed. They came, they put in the new porch steps. They had put a sealant on them, which hadn't been done when I'd replaced the steps previously. Mike or Joe, I'm not sure which one, (they are two brothers who run the company) had talked to me about how to protect my steps from deterioration from ice in the winter. They hauled away the old steps and the old downspout. These guys are great. I've rarely had the experience when hiring someone to do home repair of having them be so responsive and professional. I absolutely would hire them again.

Their estimate for the work was $8500. They were very good. Their price was a little more expensive than another company who gave me a quote. I really liked their concrete work. I really liked them. Their quote for just the walk way and the patio was around $4000. They were top-notch. They were excellent and so was their work.

The company is very good. They did everything as stated on the estimate and the cleanup was very good. Their price is very competitive. I would absolutely use them again.

The estimate process was painless and after I chose them for the job, they came over to go through details in the job including color samples, and pictures of stamping options. The time spent for the preliminaries was well worth it to get a good looking pad. When the crew arrived, they were friendly and professional and made quick work of the demolition an d prep, but when the cement came, they took their time to make sure all was ready. The pour and stamping was fun to watch and the overall project is complete and good looking.

They didn?t do the entire driveway and the walkway, but they only did some parts. They kind of repaired our driveway. The work done by them is very good. We had a couple of other quotes and the quote given by Romana Construction was very satisfactory for what we wanted to do. The other companies were no where near the price offered by Romana. They explained to us very clearly and the guy who we dealt with was able to communicate throughout. It all depends upon the weather while doing the driveway. He always kept us in the loop regarding the dates and scheduled depending upon that. He is a nice person. They were great and I highly recommend them to any of our neighbors or anybody else in Michigan. The quality of their work seems to be fine. They came on time. We would use their services in the future too.
