Romana Construction

I have been using and referring Romana Construction for the past 25 years for a variety of projects at a variety of locations, including two churches and three homes. Most of the jobs included concrete work, either stamped or regular. I can state, unequivocally, that they are the very best company I have worked with in terms of quality, planning, pricing, honesty, communication, and follow-up. I have been very fortunate to have worked with many good contractors but have found none better than Romana. They have done sidewalks, driveways, porches & stairs, patios, and ramps for me, along with various construction and remodeling projects and I have always been extremely pleased with the results and professional workmanship and attitude of all their employees. They show up at the job on time, when they say, with plenty of people and equipment to get the job done promptly. Their cleanup is thorough and complete. I have referred them to friends, family, and neighbors who have all been very pleased with the results. They are 5+ stars all the way!

We tried to get some estimates on driveway replacement last year, but most companies didn't want to be bothered. Only one came out, flung an estimate at us, and left without a word. This year I consulted Angie's list and found Romana construction. Wow, what a difference. Here was a company that actually wanted our business, and made a great effort to show what they could do. Joe the owner was so personable that we hired Romana on the spot. The crew showed up exactly on time each day, worked efficiently, and left no mess behind. It took three days (one to tear out, one to pour, one to cut lines) and we had a great new driveway. All businesses should be run this way. Very pleased.

Wow. This company is a gem. Mike and Joe, two brothers, provide personal oversight and continuity throughout the process. Their crew is courteous and very professional. This was a project where we were looking to go with the best we could find and I believe we made the right choice.

They were a pleasure to work with. They originally scheduled the work about 6 weeks out. They later had an opening and asked if we could do it almost two weeks earlier. We agreed and the removal and new concrete was done in two days. Highly efficient crew with the equipment to handle any concrete job. They also were low bidder.

Romana completed this entire project within one week in an entirely professional and excellent way. We are completely satisfied with the completed project. Romana management and employees were a pleasure to deal with.

Excellent service and craftsmanship. A large crew came to my home earlier than expected, removed and poured my new driveway in one day. They came back the next morning to make their saw cuts. Mike and Joe were great to work with and the response time was top notch. They left without leaving a mess and continuisly cleaned up while they were working. I would recommend them to anybody.

Great, it has been two years and it is still looking like new. They arrived on time and there were no delays. They did a neighbors a year ago and theirs looks great as well. Great price, could not recommend them any higher.

Excellent! Work quick and did an excellent job!

The work was performed in the fall of 2015. The patio and sidewalk came out great, and continue to look great. There was a problem and communication issue regarding in-ground sprinkler movement/placement. Two different sprinkler heads were cemented over and left 50% of my system unusable. Mike at Romana personally saw that the situation was fixed and even did some touch up work on my 1.5 year old sidewalk while he was at my home. The true value of a company and service provider is how they respond to customers after the work is done. Mike and the Romana team are great people, do great work, and ensure that customers are happy after the work is done. I recommend Romana to my neighbors.

They do excellent work. They broke up the old cement driveway & steps, then pored the new driveway. The work was finished in one day!

Pros: Mike and Joe were prompt to appointments and returning calls Cons: Poor Quality Control: 1. The last panel poured has a very noticeable high area. I surmise that the truck dumped too much concrete and rather than remove it, they proceeded to try hiding it by blending it with the surrounding area. Nice try - didn’t work. 2. Dimpled and mottled surface. Very poor surface appearance as compared to newly poured neighborhood drives. I believe that the crew was in too big of a hurry and tried to work the surface while still very soupy and before it had time to set. My biggest concern now is that the surface is very weak and may be prone to spalling in a year or two. 3. Tool marks are still visible. Very amateur job. 4. The tooled crack control joints flowed closed because of the hurried job and the soupy surface condition. The joints had to be ultimately saw cut – which I did not want. Other: I wish the crew would have asked before dumping their equipment wash water and in my flower beds. I could have found a better dumping site. I hope that my annuals and *** maple like the lime in the concrete dump water.

Perfectly! What a super company to work with! Compared to other companies that gave me an estimate, Romana's was very fair. They were professional throughout, punctual, did outstanding work and clean up. I doubt if you will find a better company to do your concrete work. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND ROMANA! ( I am not a friend or relative. )

This was a wonderful experience from the beginning to end. We had also used Romana Construction on inside work and loved their work inside of the house. When they rebuilt the porch they had a Masonry guy rebuild the outer form. Our porch was not just a brick front but a solid brick foundation. The brothers run the company with Mike taking care of building and Joe overseeing all cement work. Both brothers are extremely helpful and have very professional workers and subcontractors working with them. They never left any garbage in our yard (such as cigarette butts, etc) like another company's workers had on another job we had done. We are very happy with their work and will definitely call them again for the next project.

The whole experience was A+! The SEVEN MEN removed the patio, walkway and poured the concrete in 1 3/4 hours! One man returned the next morning to cut the seams into the cement.
