The young man who came out to give me an estimate was yery professional and did a great job of explaining the process and timeline. The worker were here on time and were both courteos and professional. They did the job very well. I had a stamped walkway which I love. One of the owners was there everyday and worked with the men.

The work went exceptionally well. I contacted Romana's on 28th May. They came out the next day for an estimate and we scheduled the work for the end of June. The work was done on the 26th and 27th of June. I can't speak more highly of their professionalism and quality of work. They were prompt and did an exceptional job. I couldn't ask for a more beautiful paving job. Their estimate was a bit higher than the lowest estimate but they gave me a packed, crushed stone bed for the concrete and they gave me six inches of concrete for the last 12' of the drive so that trucks turning around in the drive won't damage the drive. They also sealed the concrete for better curing. The lowest bidder offered only four inches of concrete throughout and didn't mention anything other than sand or dirt under the concrete or sealing of the concrete.

Romana was very responsive to our initial request for a quote. They spent a lot of time going over their recommendations and details of the proposed work. Rainy weather delayed them several times but they were very good at keeping us aware of what they were planning on doing and when. When the weather was appropriate, they showed up with a large crew and were able to complete everything in one day (versus two that we had planned for). The father and two brothers were very professional and working with them was very easy. Would definitely recommend them to others for concrete work.

It was a little difficult reaching Romana Construction on the phone but once contact was made things went very smoothly. Mike, Sr. was very punctual for the estimate and patient as he answered our many questions. He mentioned that his company was back logged for a few weeks so our project could not be addressed as soon as we would have liked. That was not a deal breaker for us though as we accepted his bid while he was at our home and got in line! Mike, Jr. handled the scheduling of our project and kept us informed as time got closer for work to begin. During one of the hottest weeks of the Michigan summer, Mike's brother, Joe, and his crew began work on our project. They were punctual and extremely efficient. We really appreciated the fact that the work site was always cleaned up before they left for the day even though they had to be exhausted from working in the searing heat. We are very satisfied customers.

Obtained four estimates -- all companies were professional and probably able to do a good job, but I decided to go with Romana because of the size and experience of the Romana crews. From my layman's perspective, the success or failure of a stamped concrete job depends on whether the company has the people and experience to deal with changing weather conditions and the demands of the stamping process. I was especially concerned because of all the rain this summer. Because of the weather, Romana postponed the original install date for one week and did the job during decent weather. Romana's price was competitive -- only one company was substantially less which I attributed to it being a smaller company with smaller crews, which, again in my opinion, may be okay in great weather and non-stamping jobs, but may be risky otherwise. Romana was very good in the sales/estimation process -- spending a good amount of time with me discussing what I wanted done, access to yard, answering my questions about the potentially messy stamping process (uses a very fine powder that can blow everywhere), and stamping patterns and color options. Romana was very prompt with the estimate and in responding to questions. The job was originally scheduled about a month out from the estimate. The whole job was done in three half-days -- setup the forms the first day, poured and stamped the second day, and pressure washed, saw-cut, and sealed the third day. The crew was professional and obviously very experienced. The job creates a mess, but they did what I could expect them to do in terms of cleaning my house, yard, and asphalt driveway. The result was a superb job. We are very satisfied with the pattern and color.

Romana Construction did an amazing job paving my driveway. They kept their word in terms of timing, they returned all of my phone calls promptly, explained the process in very thorough detail and did not stray from the original estimated cost. They were so pleasant and easy to work with. I definitely intend to hire them again for other jobs. The driveway looks fantastic!

left the first message for Mike at Romana Construction on 7-3-2013 and no response. Left a second message on 7-8-2013. Mike returned my call and we discussed the work that I needed a quote for. All the work was exterior and included replacing the driveway, patio and tuck pointing at a single family home. He was going to have an estimator go to the home location then get back with me for a quote. Several weeks later, he called me and told me he needed additional information. I returned his call that same week then never heard from him after that. I have since signed a contract with another construction company for all of the work to be done.

This company is great. They did everything they said they would do and did it exactly when they said they would do it. Very professional And great quality of work.

Based of their recomendations I was able to find someone to do the job.

Outstanding contractor. I was out of town when the work was preformed (2 days in late May) and my wife said the work crew was very professional. These guys are class all the way. I had zero concerns about being out-of-town during installation as all details were completely covered prior to doing the installation. We could tell within the first minute that the salesman knew his trade. He gave us several quotes before he left as we considered several options. Romana used standard concrete for the driveway, sidewalk and driveway entry ramp. The salesman recommended using a fiberglass mesh and they also used an ingredient that eliminated the need for us to water the driveway. Romana installed an aggregate concrete mix for the walkway and entry step. The job looks wonderful in every respect. Completely stress free experience. Excellent salesman and equally excellent work crew. Great guys to deal with and we recommend them highly.

Romana Construction sent out a person to give a quote. I had informed them I need a quote to work on my patio and walk way for my neighbor. The person gave me quote a combine quote of $4000. I wanted to get some additional work done. I was asked to call the owner for that quote. I had hard time to reach the owner. Finally he came out after a week. He told me the the quotes his nephew had given me were wrong and he gave me new quotes. The new combined quote was significantly higher. I would expect a company to honor a written quote. Aug 5th I had the most weird experience with company. He called me about the bad review. When i called him back expecting he will honor his original quote. This call did not go well. He started accusing me of not being nice to pressurize this 19 year old nephew. I did not ask him to send his nephew. Other weird thing I heard was that was just a free estimate. It sounded like the free estimates are never honored and price always goes up. I hope no one has such bad experience ever.

From start to finish, everything about the job went smoothly. The concrete driveway had begun to crack in multiple places and the front section of the garage floor not only developed a wide crack from one side of the garage to the other, but there also was a difference in elevation between the two sides. Romana gave me a detailed quote and, on the day of the scheduled day for the work, showed up with a crew of about 7 men. They worked together very efficiently, broke up and removed all of the old concrete, poured new gravel for the base and poured and finished all of the new concrete in one afternoon. They returned the next day to make expansion cuts. I am happy with the job.

As I previously described Romana Construction did everything they promised to do and they did it in a very professional way. I highly recommend the company.

I never heard back from them. I understand that maybe they are looking for bigger jobs, but I don't understand why I cannot get a callback in a week's time to say one way or the other whether or not they will take the work.

Came by and quoted the work promptly. Walked through the process and timing. Said it would be done in about 3-4 weeks. Had to follow up a couple of times, but the work was done. They were good at communication to make sure things turned out as I wanted. Overall, good experience and would use again.

I was able to be fitted in earlier than expected and I had not cleared off my furniture from the slab. Mikes team took care of this and proceeded to complete the job in 1 1/2 days. I have received many compliments on the work and have already passed their business cards out. Very positive experience!

Never showed and never called. Update: The next day after posting my original review, Mike called to apologize for missing our appointment. He took full responsibility for the error and offered to set up another appointment. I felt that because Mike called the next day after the review was posted, that it was probably an unintentional oversight and that he truly cares about his reputation. We scheduled an appointment for later in the week. Mike called to advise that he was on the way and arrived at the appointed time. Mike was very thorough and pointed out a few things that could be potential problems. He left us a quote for our review.

Tuesday they removed the old concrete and my back deck and created molds for the cement. Wednesday the city inspector came. Thursday it rained. Friday they poured the cement and Saturday they cut lines in the cement. The project went well, they moved my sprinklers out of the way. Price, communication, and professionalism made this a great experience.

Mike from Romana returned my phone message, which I left on a Saturday, within hours. A visit to estimate was quickly scheduled to finalize a quote which we had originally gotten the year before. I was very comfortable with Mike's expertise in quoting this job. I told him that timing was important, since I wanted the job done well in advance of our daughter's graduation party. Romana put us on their schedule exactly as I requested and followed up with a courtesy call the Saturday before work started. The crew arrived timely and worked very efficiently, being very respectful of our property. Joe kept me informed during the course of the job and showed me their progress. Attention was paid to the smallest details at every step of the way, with Joe going beyond what I expected in cutting out an additional small part of a cracked old slab, resulting in a beautiful, freshly- poured job. Again, we could not be more pleased with the professionalism of this company, the politeness of them and their crew, and their fulfilling the job beyond our expectations. We highly recommend them to anyone for concrete work and I am sure their work ethic and professionalism extend to whatever job they are doing. We intend to use them in the future. Thanks again!

The job went beautifully. Michael, one of the owners explained everything, mapped out what I wanted and gave me a price, which I accepted right away. I wanted it installed as soon as possible, so he scheduled me the next week. He called and kept me informed about the schedule several times. Joe, Michaels brother and his crew removed the old concrete, removed the grass, graded the area and installed the forms in one afternoon. The next day Joe and his crew poured the colored concrete and stamped the pattern we chose, in three pours. The next morning, they cut the releif cuts, power washed it, then sealed it. We enjoyed a drink on it that evening. It is beautiful and it drains well, leaving no puddles after it rains. Everyone, the owners as well as the workers was very nice, worked hard, and knew what they were doing. Most of the workers have worked for Romana Construction for many years, two of whom are brothers who have both been with Romana for around 28 years. I couldn't be pleased more with what they have done.

Great service from a family owned and staffed company. My contact call was followed up with a visit by Mike for an estimate. I appreciated the list of completed work I could take a look at in my area as well as the information regarding the type of concrete and a walk thru of how the job would be completed. The estimate was detailed and professional. Once the start date was set, a week earlier than I expected I was kept informed of the times the crew would be here. Joe arrived with the crew, introduced himself and worked on the job as well. He was on the site all day. He answered all my questions, and even made some changes at no added cost. Every day the area was cleaned up, and the next day start times were right on. I liked that the crew and supervisors had different colored t shirts. Pleasant, professional, hardworking crew. The driveway perfect.

Excellent! We couldn't be happier. We contacted Romana Construction in March 2013 to get "on the schedule" for new concrete when the weather allowed. The initial call (and all other calls) was returned promptly and an estimate was completed within a few days. I was pleased they provided an estimate immediately after looking at the work to be done; we did not have to wait a few days the way other companies give estimates. Once we hired Romana for the job, only a $50 deposit/retainer was required. Joe stated the remainder was not due until the work was completed to our satisfaction. Incredible, since it was almost a $5000 job! We were updated as to if the weather was cooperating to begin as scheduled. When the job was started, Joe arrived and was on-site at all times. The crew were not people contracted to do the job, but actual employees of Romana. They got right to work and I was amazed by how efficient they were. They were respectful of my yard, my neighbor's lawn, and the area in general. The work was completed on time and looks beautiful. One neighbor even requested an estimate while Romana was here and we have received many compliments since. I would definitely recommend Romana and will use them in the future.

I'm very pleased with the quality of work. The team was professional and friendly. I'm very happy with the end result!

I just want to say my experience with this company was excellent. Mike and Joe and the rest of the guys were very professional and courteous. They did a really great job and Frank who cut the cement even put my step back in my garage and cemented it in.
