They are punctual, always ask where we've seen things, e.g., wasps, spiders etc. They explain what they are doing and when the best time is to come for different types of insects. We've tried two other services and they are cheaper and more helpful. Occasionally we get mice and they put poison in the attic for them.

One morning I discovered a large paper wasp nest in the bush next to my back door. These babies were fairly menacing and totally scary. My wife says and quot;There is a can of Raid in the basement...and quot;. I say and quot;Nope, this calls for professional help,,,and quot; So I go to Angies list and find several prospective exterminators. I'm not sure why I selected The Bug Man, I think it was his website. So I call and the young lady tells me she will send a technician out the next morning. Sure enough, the tech shows up at the appointed time and applies the necessary pesticide. He told me to wait 24 hours and if I say another wasp then to give him a call, but the first application did the trick. Then he had me log onto the company website to pay the bill. It could not have been easier.

Bob came out to the house right on time and explained what he would do and what things he would look out for. He gave me recommendations on very minor issues with carpenter bees and was thorough in explaining how to deal with them. Even after my wife and I had doubts on the issue he described I left a voice mail assuming I'd get a a call back on Monday. Bob called several hours later and reassured us of the fact that the issue was not extensive and answered any other questions I had. I did not expect a call back on a Sunday. Great customer service at a great price! I will surely contact this company again when needed!

He was very nice and really knows his business, gave me a quote and encouraged me to get other estimates. I did follow that advice and found someone more environmentally conscious, costs less, would not have to drill holes all over, and could do the job much sooner. This to me is the kind of work I want done ASAP.

They were great. They really looked at everything and spent the time talking with me. They gave me some tips and hints on things I could do to improve things. He did not try to sell me anything I did not need. I think what they did for me was wonderful. They were prompt and courteous. They came out right away. They were very informative.

The Bug Man came within 2 days of my call. He was on time for the appointment. He thoroughly evaluated the area in my home where carpenter ants have been seen, including the basement area underneath the room in question, the 2nd story rooms above it, and the exterior. He identified multiple places where he could place pesticide so that it would be inside the wall he suspected was a main route of travel or possibly home to a nest. He performed the work quickly, neatly, and spent time explaining and showing me what he did in each location, explaining why he did what he did, instructing me on what I can expect and where I should avoid cleaning until the pesticide had time to have an effect, and what the next steps might be if the ants were not taken care of through the treatment. Compared with the service I received for the same problem the year before, what he did was much more extensive and careful and for much less. The ants also appear to be gone, which was not the case after the provider I used previously treated the same area.

The Bug Man was honest, clear, and direct with his diagnosis. I thought he was going to recommend immediate treatment of the whole house. But he did not try to sell me something I did not need. Because of that I would highly recommend their services, knowing they're going to do what's necessary, no more no less.

They came very quickly. They were able to schedule us the day after our initial phone call, and the serviceman arrived promptly.

My wife and I were convinced that we had bedbugs and, based on the Angie's List ratings, we contacted The Bugman. A few days later, Bob the Bugman came to our house as scheduled. Before starting the bedbug treatment, Bob first took the time to check for bedbugs. After checking every place that we suggested as a possible bedbug site, Bob was convinced that we did not have a bedbug problem and strongly recommended against treating house for bedbugs. He explained to both of us what to look for when searching for bedbugs. We accepted Bob's recommendation and so he left without treating our house. Even though the whole process took almost 45 minutes, Bob would not accept payment for his services. Both my wife and I were impressed with Bob's honesty and willingness to spent time educating us on bedbugs.

Their advice was great. It worked and they didn't have to come out. I will definitely call them the next time.

Placed a call and was greeted by a very helpful individual who asked all of the right questions. I told him about my on-going carpenter ant invasion, and he gave me a concise description of how to deal with these pesky little insects. I made an appointment for the following week after they said they could be there tomorrow. It rained the day of the appointment; I called and rescheduled with no hassles. Today, Don arrived at my home ahead of schedule and had already taken the time to survey the property. He then proceeded to give me an interesting and informative explanatiion on the who, what, where, when and why of carpenter ants. He answered all my questions and given the scope of my problem was very confident that one application would resolve the issue. Thanks Angie's List, and thanks to The Bug Man...now maybe I won't hear the females in my house screaming "ANT!!!" anymore.

One week after mulch was delivered and spread, carpenter ants started marching through the house ~ lived here five years and never had an ant problem. I called The Bug Man based on Angie's List results. Jeff explained what he was doing throughout the process and what to expect. Overall, the ant traffic decreased after the first application. Because of home showings, I only waited one week instead of the recommended two and had Jeff return for a second application in certain areas. Again, the numbers of ants decreased; mostly, they were dead or dying. Three weeks after the second treatment, they had stopped appearing except for two areas. I called him back: he agreed on the two areas I pointed out and used specialized products to target them. It's a little over a week since his last visit and except a dead stray or two, all ant corpse sightings have stopped. The cost for each follow-up visit was $48 (gas and product only). Lesson learned -- order mulch early in the spring before ants become established in it (that's what we usually do and have never had "mulch ants" before). Next spring, to be safe, I will call The Bug Man to treat around the exterior and the interior in case any ants from this colony survived and begin to re-visit!

In the hour he spent in my home, he explained how to identify the ants I had (pavement ants) as well as the kinds I was more wary of (carpenter ants). He talked about how they were moving through my home, and how I could prevent them in the future. One thing that really struck me about his service is that he went out of his way to give me money saving advice and alternatives to having to call him back, up to and including product recommendations and ones to avoid. I would HIGHLY recommend this company for their knowledge and personability, and let's face it, it's nice to support a local business, too. Especially one who is cheaper in many ways than the national brands. He charged me the lowest amount in the range I had been quoted over the phone, and he was quite engaging in his discussion of the bugs.

Don performed the service, along with an apprentice named Jeff. They arrived on time and were there about 50 minutes. I had called for service because I had seen carpenter ants (maybe one every other day) and spiders in my new home. The previous owner said she had yearly treatment. They started on the outside of the house and then moved inside. I was assured that both treatments were pet and people safe. While inside it began raining and I was told that the solution dries quickly and that I should not worry about it washing away. This is my only reservation and the reason I did not rate the quality of their work. I was told I would see bugs for a few days more but ideally nothing after that.

Don was professional, courteous, efficient, and thorough. I have dealt with other exterminators for termites and other pests. If anyone has a pest problem, BugMan should be the first to be called.
