Description of Work: When I originally called them, a representative came out a day later to give an estimate. They were busy, so I had to wait about a month for the work to be done, but they came when they said they would. The 3 men in the crew were very professional and pleasant, and the crew leader explained everything to me and answered questions. They were neat and careful, and cleaned up after themselves. I couldn't be more pleased.

Everything went smoothly with the foundation repair for our house. They were able to come to our house several days ahead of schedule, and completed everything on time. Workers were friendly and explained what needed to be done. The foreman/saleman Ed was easy to work with. Price was very competitive too: B-Dry gave us 23 carbon fiber straps around 3 walls of the basement, while a competitor offered only 15 straps along two walls for virtually the same price. We now feel secure that the basement is no longer wet nor collapsing. Thanks!
Description of Work: Put carbon fiber/kevlar straps around basement walls to prevent foundation movement. Dug out portion of yard to create room for walls to move. Pushed walls back into position with jacks. Sealed cracks throughout basement walls.

Workers were professional, courteous, and completed the work in a timely manner. The Scope of Work was discussed with the Owner prior to its start. The actual work area was isolated from the remainder of the home by sheets of plastic hung from the ceiling. In addition, the walkway was also protected by sheets of plastic laid on the floor covering the floor tile and/or carpeting. The work started on time (9:30± am) and was completed including the cleanup by 5:00 PM. The noise and dust was kept to a minimum. The Scope of Work was reviewed with the Owner upon completion and the forms were signed and a confirmation was received that an invoice would be submitted for payment.
Description of Work: Installed a drainage tile along approximately 10 feet of the north west corner of the basement wall. Included the installation of plastic wall sheeting on the basement walls and the installation of a sump pump.

We experienced basement flooding earlier this year which exposed foundation cracks in our newly-purchased home causing some property damage. We knew we had to address the problem and wanted to find the best solution that would allow us to feel comfortable in our basement, and not only refinish the areas that had been damaged but see potential for improving our basement without the worry of future water damage. We first met with Kim and his wife during the bidding process. Although they were not the cheapest option, they were the most complete and highest quality option. No one else could explain to us how the products they were proposing to sell us could 1) stand the test of time, and 2) allow us to use and remodel safely in our basement. Not only were they willing to perform the entire perimeter and sump pump B-Dry basement waterproofing as they quoted us, but they also worked with us to install an egress window AND to modify the plans to allow a plumber to set up for a new half bath while the concrete was removed. During the time between the bidding, our acceptance of their bid, and the start of the project in October, Kim was always available for our questions and changes. His help was invaluable to making the entire production a success. During and after vicious storms last evening, we heard our sump pump run very often. The basement is perfectly dry. We believe in the products that they sold and installed for us. We appreciate the hassle-free financing and the monthly invoices. We especially like that the products (and work) are guaranteed both by the local company and also by the national company (if necessary). We wholeheartedly recommend basement waterproofing by B-Dry System.
Description of Work: The provider 1) arrived on time, 2) was professional in every aspect possible, 3) protected carpeting, structures, and our items, 4) cleaned after themselves and hauled away trash, 5) performed all work as noted in the work agreement. The contents of the work agreement: They installed a basement waterproofing system (all concrete work and materials included), a sump pump, and an egress window. They worked with us on financing very openly.

It was great experience, I recommended them to a friend who also had work done. Their overall workmanship was above what we expected. The team did some extra's that were not written in the quote, but hte pricing quoted did not change. The work was completed in the agreed amount of time, they arrived each day at the agreed to time and put in a full days work. Kim was great from the first day he came out to look over the project, his follow up and resonding to questions was very much ppreciated. The quotation was competitive with others, but what sold us on B-Dry (Diversified Foundation) was Kim and his honesty. The concrete wall of the house had to have four helical piers installed to support the foundation, due to cracks in the footings. The crawl space was then encapsulated and insulated. The addition had to have a wood foundation built, which was then insulated and encapsulated. During the extreme cold weather this winter the basement has remained dry and warm.
Description of Work: I used B-Dry System of Central & West Michigan Inc. (Diversified Foundation) They finished the work about two weeks ago. They repaied cracks in the foundation by installing Helical Piers for stability, partially encapcilated a crawl space and built a wood foundation around a newer seciton of the house.

We called Diversified Foundation Solutions requesting an assessment of the condition of our concrete block basement, and estimate the cost of repairing a crack and correct inward bowing in one of our basements walls (concrete block). One of our other basement walls also had a smaller crack and much smaller amount of inward bowing. We've never had water leak into the basement. The house is about 55 years old. Their estimator, Mike, came out and took measurements, including the amount of bowing in the walls, and stated that the bowing was not critical and did not require any outside digging or work, but we should reinforce the walls with carbon fiber straps to keep them from continuing to bow (due to the expansion and contraction of the clay soils around our house). These would be applied inside, and no outside work would be required (other than to repair a concrete block that was cracked on the outside). He stated the wall with the larger crack should have 4 straps applied. The other wall (with the smaller crack) didn't need anything at this time and might never need anything, but if we wanted he would apply 3 straps to that wall for just the cost of the straps (without charging additional labor for those 3 straps) as long as we had it done at the same time as the other 4. Mike's assessment of the condition of the basement was the same as another contractor (whom we trust) - only their proposed methods of how to correct the problem differed -- carbon fiber straps epoxyed to the walls vs steel beams butted up next to the walls and secured at the top and floor. Mike stated that with the amount and placement of the bowing, carbon fiber straps would work very well to correct the problem, that they were a certified installer for Fortress Stabilization (which we verified independently), and would guarantee their own work for 10 years (the straps come with a lifetime warranty). He said it would take one day to complete the work. We also asked if they installed glass block windows to replace the single pane windows we currently had. He stated we could probably find someone to do it cheaper than they could, and gave us a name we might try. We appreciated his honesty about this. He came out on Tuesday evening 8/6/13 to do the estimate and stated he would email me an estimate by that Friday. After about 10 days we still had not received the estimate so I called Mike directly and asked if he had sent the estimate. As it turns out he had neglected to written it up, and once he discovered that, he called me, openly admitted his error, and the estimate was emailed to me within the day. I was okay with this because he was honest about the mistake. The estimate included a diagram showing basement landmarks and where they proposed applying the straps. The estimate detailed what would be done quite clearly, including what the price would be if we only had 4 straps applied, and what it would be if we added the additional 3. In the meantime, we did as much research as we could into carbon fiber straps for the repair of the kind of problem we have in our foundation, trying to find sources who didn't have anything to gain by endorsing them, and eventually came to feel comfortable that carbon fiber straps would correct the problem, and had the advantage over 6 inch steel beams by not being intrusive in the basement (as well as taking one day to install instead of three). We also decided to put in the 3 straps on the second wall. Diversified promptly supplied us with proof of insurance and license (as I requested), and set up an install date that was less than 2 weeks from the time we signed the contract. They did not require a downpayment, just the entire balance due upon completion of the job. All my contacts with the office were pleasant. Mike and a helper installed the straps. They arrived when they said they would, and the entire install of the 7 straps took about 6 hours. They also installed rebar reinforcement near the straps at the bottom of the foundation (inside the concrete block walls) and filled those areas with concrete to hold the rebar, filled the cracks in the wall with epoxy, cemented one larger gap, and repaired the one exterior cracked block with cement. They were careful to be as clean as possible during the install and cleaned up after themselves completely after they were done. As they worked I asked Mike several questions about the work being done and Mike answered them all professionally and courteously. When they finished Mike said to be sure to call him if we had any questions about anything related to the install, cleaning, painting, etc, and he would be happy to answer them. It's only been 5 days since this work was done, so only time will tell about the long-term quality of the install, but so far we are completely satisfied with the work done. We plan to paint the straps and concrete basement walls shortly.
Description of Work: Applied 7 carbon fiber straps (using bow ties at the top to secure them to the rim joist and epoxy to secure them to the walls) to concrete block basement walls, to stop inward bowing of foundation.

I had on site visits and estimates from 5 companies, and chose Diversified for 3 reasons: Mike Buchman, the estimator, was by far the most knowledgeable, Diversified's price was the lowest, and they used the best product (Fortress carbon fiber straps). Diversified was the only company that proposed inserting 24' rebar pins going through the lowest 2 cement blocks into the cement footing below, which will prevent the wall from moving inward. While the carbon straps prevent bowing, without the rebar pins the wall could still move horizontally. Diversified was also the only company that proposed a vertical strap on the wall that was bowing horizontally in addition to bowing vertically. Diversified's proposal included only the necessary amount of straps. One other company proposed far more straps than were necessary, which I figured was just to rip me off and get more money for them. It is fairly easy to just glue on the straps, but what is important is an effective design of the straps and neckties that will solve the unique problem of each wall - this is what Diversified offered that the other companies did not. Although the estimator, Mike , said that he did the work himself only sometimes, in my case he returned to install the straps along with one other worker, which was beneficial to me. While glueing the straps, he also filled several of he cracks in the wall with epoxy at no extra charge. Another company had quoted an additional price for filling the cracks. The straps have worked excellently and no additional cracks have appeared in my walls. I painted them and they are inconspicuous.
Description of Work: My problem was bowed and cracked cement block foundation walls in my basement. Diversified installed 10 vertical and 1 horizontal carbon fiber straps, 8 Kevlar top straps (neckties), and 9 rebar base pins. Work was done on 3 walls.
