The resurfacer was later than the projected arrival time window but I excused that as we are out in the country and I forgot my cell phone. He was very pleasant and efficient and answered questions about care before he left. However, after he left the job looked great but I found a puddles of resurfacing product in the tub. I chose not to contact the business as over all the tub and tile looked amazing. The plumber we used asked for the name of the resurfacer and I will recommend Surface Solutions. I thought the price was quite fair, we are selling the property and the puddle probably won't make a difference when we sell. I wish I had carefully inspected the job before the workman left.

Surface solutions did a great job refinishing my tub. I bought a new house and the old tub was dingy and had a low spot that was very worn away. The technician provide great work and even tried to fix the low spot free of charge. So far it's been about 3 months and I am more than happy with the results. A nice clean white tub that is smooth and easy to keep clean.

Great! They had to move my appointment to later in the day because the technician was sick, but they called me early in the morning. Raul was my technician & he was great. He was polite, nice to my dog & he was honest when he advised against replacing my drain kit. Tub turned out great. Very happy.

Both the floor installation and reglazing went smoothly and the finished product looks excellent. Both installers arrived on-time, were polite and friendly, answered all my questions, and did great work. There were some miscommunications (my fault) regarding what was being done with the sink in the bathroom that affected the job, but they were able to work around the issues and not let it get i the way of completing the job. Very happy with both the quality of work and the customer service.

They showed up on time, were professional, quick, and cleaned up after themselves. They do really good work. It's hard to find a tub re-glazer who does the work right. I will be saving this company so I can use them in other homes like my parents. This house in Berkley that I had them do is my rental house.

In the initial planning stages of my bathroom remodel, I called Surface Solutions to get a price for a tub re-glazing and to ask if they serviced the area I lived it. The women I spoke with gave me a price of $265 and said they do service my area. A couple weeks later when I called to actually schedule the tub re-glazing I was told that they don't service my area. I asked if I could pay extra to have them come to my house - nope. The reason is because if they have to come back within the 5-year warranty time frame, they don't want to be bothered to come that far. Regardless, they should be confident enough in their work that they shouldn't have to come back to my home during the warranty period. I'm very, very disappointed in their customer service as I was looking forward to having such a highly reviewed company come to my house at a great price.

I called them about a week before I needed the service and they stayed in communication with me via email. I sent pictures of the tub and discussed color options for a few days. Since I was undecided about the color Rob brought two color options with him. He called me on the morning of and arrived about 9:15 a.m. I decided to go with the bisque color and it turned out beautifully. He stripped away the old glaze which took some time but after that the new glaze application was done quickly. The smell was not that strong and dissipated later that evening. We waited a full 24 hours plus before using the tub this morning. The total cost included the stripping off the old glaze 75.00, plus 265.00 for new glaze, plus 40.00 to add a coarse grit to the bottom of tub to prevent slipping which I requested after Rob made me aware of the option. Total cost was $380.00 and worth every dollar. Thank you Surface Solutions, Rob and Angieslist. PS: I received a $5 discount for mentioning Angieslist.

The only problem was that there was no plan for re-installing my shower door after the shower was resurfaced. This is not so easy for the marginally handy.

This is the second time I have used Surface Solutions for a bathtub reglaze project. This was a Jacuzzi tub in the bathroom of a single family house that is a rental property. The result this time was not as good as the first time, but I would still use them again in the future. There were three things I didn't like about the way this job was completed: 1) the tub was not re-caulked; 2) the glaze on the tub exterior was not applied all the way to the floor (stopped at the carpeting and showed when the carpet was removed); 3) the glaze began to flake on the outside of the tub soon after the job was finished. As to item 1) the workman explained that when he removed the old caulk, the gap between the wall tile and the tub was greater than usual and that he didn't think he could reseal it. I should think that kind of thing would be encountered on occasion and planned for as a possibility, although it didn't appear obvious to me. I ultimately had my plumber regrout the area in question, and then re-caulk the tub. As to item 2) the carpet in the bathroom was in such bad condition, I thought it would be obvious that it had to be replaced. Nevertheless, I accept responsibility for not specifically telling the workman that the bathroom carpet was being removed. The house is a rental and was clearly being re-carpeted, repaired & repainted when this work was being done. Only after he finished the job did he say he had only applied the glaze as far as the carpet line. Why mention that unless you have an inkling that the carpet might be removed or replaced and the break line might show? And when you have that inkling, wouldn't that have been the time to inquire? Had he done so, I would have removed the carpet from that area immediately. As to item 3) I have already seen a little place where the glaze is chipping off on the outside of the tub. It isn't a smudge, it's definitely a flake, so it had to start after the tub glaze had dried. This didn't happen with the first job and I'm quite surprised to see it now. Although I was very careful about bumping things or rubbing against the tub exterior when the carpet was taken out, it remains to be seen whether this was just one aberrant spot, or if there was a problem with the entire project. I certainly hope not.

It went great. The serviceman (Rob) was prompt and contacted us ahead of time to let us know his estimated time of arrival. He was professional and very prompt with setting things up and getting started. He took a lot of effort to make sure that all areas were covered so that dust didn't escape the bathroom and get into other rooms. We had to leave for a minute or two and we felt comfortable leaving him there alone as he continued to work diligently. The job was finished in about 3 hours and the work was spectacular - it looked like a brand new tub/surround. Afterwards, he took time to explain how to keep it looking new and didn't rush through anything. When realizing that some dust did end up outside the bathroom and onto a table, he kindly offered to clean the table and surrounding area but we assured him he didn't need to. Very professional, kind, and did a wonderful job!

Chris was very professional and paid careful attention to details from the first visit when he gave the estimate. The price for the tub and tile refinishing seemed reasonable, and Chris explained the process thoroughly, which helped us make the decision to go forward with the project. When a small plumbing issue came up and caused a slight change in schedule, Chris moved his schedule around to make sure that the job got done on time (before visitors arrived). Much appreciated! On completion, the bathtub looked like new. After six weeks, it looks good. I have a five year warranty, provided I take the necessary precautions. Time will tell if the finish holds up, and I am hopeful.

I am going to have to hire a plumber to reinstall the tub fitting and shower head. He cracked the wall lining, and to make him feel good I said: Oh, that's OK, I can put molding around it. So I did.

They were great and worked with us after we had to reschedule several times because of delays on bathroom plumbing projects that needed to be addressed before they did the refinishing. When we called in the staff was always extremely friendly and helpful. On the day the work was to be done, Brandon and Sam called ahead to let us know what time they would be here and they arrive promptly at their scheduled time. Brandon took time to explain what they were going to do and answered all of our questions completely. Then they went to work and finished under 2 hours including clean up. They were very friendly and professional. As for the finished job, we had a few previous dings that we were warned we would still be able to see afterwards but other than a really faint line at the right angle, the tub looks 100% better! After using the 5% off Angie's List coupon we only paid $251.75. We are very happy we had this done and VERY happy we used this company!

I bought a rental that had a tub that was roached. I've never had a resurfacing done and was skeptical at how it would look. Surface Solutions called me back the same day after leaving a voice mail. We set up an appointment for a couple weeks out. Brian showed up on time and answered a couple questions I had. Finished product turned out great, it looks like a new bath tub without all the demolition hassle and probably half the cost. Will definitely use them again for a similar project.

When the tech arrived he was clearly having a bad day and after looking at the bathtub he told me he was not sure he was going to be able to do the job that day because it was a full tub and the job listed on his quote was for just the tub. The tech called his dispatcher/scheduler and then returned and completed the job. Once he was finished, he asked me to look at his work and there were small balls of what appeared to be buildup of the glazing material that were ejected from his spray gun. I questioned him about it and the tech informed me that I could buy some 1000 grit sandpaper and after the glaze had dried I could attempt and wet sand the build up areas down on my own. In my opinion, that should be something Surface Solutions should be doing if I am paying them to complete a job. I then asked when they would be returning to complete the job and the tech informed me that I could call the office and see if they might come out and complete the repair but he could not make any promises. The tech then requested payment for the job and after telling him that payment would be made once the job is completed and properly finished he became anrgy and unprofessional, storming out of my home. A few minutes later he came back inside and attempted to repair the issue spots and could be heard swearing and acting unprofessional. After he took his tools out to his truck I went to the bathroom and noticed that he had corrected the issues and was willing to pay for the work he had done but I was not able to pay him because he had left without even telling me he was done or attempting to collect payment. The following day I had to remove all the painters tap around the tub and while doing so the glazing peeled off with some of the painters tape. I contacted Surface Solutions and explained what had occurred. A few days later the owner came to my house and apologized for the tech's unprofessionalism and the reasoning behind the tech's attitude toward me and the job. The owner made the repairs but within two weeks more of the glazing had peeled off the shower wall. Since then (approximately 4-6 months has passed) and no more of the glazing has peeled away but I have noticed that a portion of the shower wall has much less glazing on it and you can see where it needed to be sprayed over again. With respect for the job the owner did (repairing the trouble spots), I thought he was top notch but his tech really did not do the company any favors in my book. I wish Surface Solutions would make the corrections to my bath tub.

I called Surface Solutions and obtained an estimate for re-glazing our porcelain tub. Their price was around $80 less than another competitor and they were able to schedule my work within a week . I was called a couple of days prior to the work as a reminder, and told there would be a two hour window for the technician's arrival. The technician (Mario) arrived at the end of the two hour window, calling me about 20 minutes prior to his arrival. Upon his arrival, he proceeded to the bathroom and prepared the room by covering most surfaces with plastic sheeting. A plastic sheet was also placed over the open doorway. He removed the old caulking from the top and bottom edges of the tub, and proceeded to remove the stains that we had been unable to remove using all methods and cleaners we thought available. After showing me the result of this initial cleaning with paint thinner, he proceeded to etch the surface with acid to prepare the surface for the new coating. Since the glaze produces strong fumes (similar to nail polish remover according to my wife) Mario brought in a portable ventilator unit and put a tube out a nearby window to remove as many fumes as possible. While there were some fumes that escaped the portable ventilator and bathroom, I was able to expel most of them by placing a fan at an open window. I was also instructed to keep the bathroom closed and the ceiling ventilator running over the next couple of days. It was notable that my wife, who is very sensitive to odors, was unable to smell any fumes outside of the bathroom when she arrived home later in the day. Mario was very polite and professional throughout the job, and was very careful in cleaning up after himself. All in all, it was a good experience and we would hire Surface Solutions again if needed.

I called Surface Solutions, was given estimate on the phone and I made the appt. Brandon arrived right on time. He was very professional. He explained everything he was going to do; told me about the dust and smell. But really, he kept the bathroom door closed and I was not bothered. I offered Brandon coffee or ice tea and he thanked me each time but said "no." He had another young man with him who was being trained and was also very nice. They were conscious of any dust they might track thru the house. Brandon gave me his phone number if I had any questions. A few days later I did have a question and he responded right away. Matter of fact at Halloween he was visiting my area and walking with his nephew and said hello to me. It was a wonderful experience and I highly recommend this company!
