Prompt response, quality was good (according to my tenants). No problems... would likely use again. Fair price.

I was renovating my previously finished basement and knocked out a wall, and had a bit of water damage from a crack in the wall. After previously having him paint the exterior of my house, I noticed that he did drywall too, so I had Ken come in and fix large portions of the drywall on walls and ceiling. I originally was going to texture the ceiling myself and he offered to show me how to do it. When the time came for the work to be done, I was busy and work and couldn't be there, so he textured the ceiling himself at no extra charge. I can't find enough good things to say about this company.

Paint job looks great. They were very neat--no drips on the patio or our deck or anywhere. They used tarps. Ken came when he said he would to do the estimate. He and his assistant came early and stayed late to get the painting done in two days. Both are very nice, friendly guys. We had Ken do some interior painting for us a year or so prior and he also stripped some wallpaper and repainted a hallway before that. He was originally recommended to us by friends. I would recommend him to others and hire him again.

It was a very good experience and the painter went out of his way to get the paint I had specified. The attention to detail and cleanliness was the best I have seen from a painter.

Ken had painted the exterior of my house this summer. I decided to postpone this job until the fall. I have dealt with contractors for about 25 years. Ken is easily the best. He really puts the customer first, and uses only top quality paints. He had some big exterior projects and he was working overtime to finish up before the weather was too cold. Rather than delay my job, he enlisted some special help because his regular partner needed a day off. They did a great and careful job, and the room looks better than 15 years ago when it was new. Ken makes you feel like you are getting extra special treatment, although I'm sure he treats all his customers the same way. This is why I signed up for Angie's List. To find outstanding people like Ken!

The job went very nicely. I assumed that the price was fair to me, as I didn't get other quotes. They were very meticulous and neat with the work. I really couldn't find anything that I had to call them back about.

Very nice experience. Easy to work with. Flexible with schedule. Did some extra work but didn't charge more. Will use Ken again when we paint our exterior.

Ken did a great job. He was very knowledgeable about the best paint to use for my conditions ( mold on north side of house).

This is probably the best contractor we had so far! I will definitely recommend them to everyone. Ken is always on time for our appointment.He gave us a good quote at the first visit. He detailed what he is going to do and stated that he will replace some of the rotten wood for free. He and Alex worked very hard all day in the heat of 90F. And they kept working till 9PM on the 2nd day to finish the job. They did everything promised and more. Now the house looks like new and we could not be happier with a painter like this.

He arrived on time, sanded and otherwise prepared the deck, then applied stain that looked very good when the job was completed. He has done other work for us previously and his workmanship, prices, cleanup and communications are all very professional.

I had just bought an older Cape Cod style home with a deck on the back and I don't think either had ever been power washed. I called Ken and arranged a time for him to come out and give me an estimate on the house and deck. He was right on time and extremely polite, going over everything that would be done and how and who was going to do it. Ken also had ready his license and insurance information and encourged me to check them out. He told that he was also listed with the Better Business Bureau and I checked out all his information and was very happy with the results. Ken and his associate came on the day and time that we had arranged and got straight to work. They were here about 4-1/2 hours and I have to say without a doubt they did an outstanding job. My house sparkles, like I never thought it could. Ken took off years and years of dirt and lord knows what else off my house to make it look brand new. And the same goes for my deck. It was a grayish black before they started and when they finished, it was the beautiful cedar deck that I now want to use. I am thrilled with the results, it was well worth the money I spent.

The entire job (except for pressure washing) was done in less than one day which was impressive. They did a great job on minor wood repairs that were needed, and the painting quality was top-notch including on the garage which hadn't been painted for many years. The only thing they didn't do, which I didn't remember to ask for, was adding some non-skid sand to the paint for the porch floor.

Everything went well from start to finish. My phone calls were either answered or returned within an hour. We made an appointment for an estimate and he arrived on time and an e-mail proposal came the next day. We received a conformation call two days before the job was to start. They, he and his assistant, arrived on time on the scheduled day. Everything was covered and the painted areas were tapes as needed. No additional clean up needed to be completed by us. The work was done in 2 days. The house looks beautiful. All the colors we chose came out perfectly. We are very happy with the all attention paid to the detail work. We definitely would use this company again.

Ken submitted in the mail a written estimate after detailing in person to me the work to be done. Very reasonable price was quoted. Within the same week, we set up a date and he and his assistant arrived right on time. We again discussed the job and before I left for the day, he closed off the room and covered the carpeting with tarp. He supplied top premium paint and primer and applied two coats to all sides of 26 windows, surrounding woodwork and window sills. He also did an excellent job of priming and painting a bedroom with metallic paint that I would not have attempted myself. Ken called me in the afternoon to give me an update and the job was finished by the time that I arrived home that evening. Cleanup was great. Wouldn't even know that he was there.

Ken could not have been more professional, accommodating and punctual. I orginally called him because of his 10% senior citizen discount which he honored. I was working with a tight schedule in that company was arriving in less than 10 days. This was also during a time that we had several days of non-stop rain. Ken checked the weather everyday and would call with with his assessment of when he could finish the job. He got it done under the wire. Also, to be noted was that he gave an old hot tub on the deck, attention in nailing up fallen boards, powerwashing all the moss that had accumulated and restaining it. It had been an eyesore for many years and now looked brand new. He also restained a small table and hammered down any nail that had popped up through the years. All of this was done at no additional cost to me. I encourage anyone looking at deck maintenance to give Ken a call. You will not be disappointed.

Ken, the owner of Newcoat, was on time for each appointment, quoted a very fair price, was on the job each day expaining what was going on and insuring the job was done in a high quality manner. Newcoat installed a 12 foot section of gutter, repaired carpenter bee damage to a section of the trim, and did an outstanding job with the painting. His helper was polite and neat. Ken and his helper completely cleaned up after the job. Overall I though I got more than my money worth. Probably the best experience I have ever had with a contractor.

Ken, Alex, and Mark were the best contractors we have ever hired. They presented the lowest of three quotations. Ken impressed us right away with his knowledge & professionalism. He was also very helpful with his responsiveness to follow up questions regarding the quote- all handled easily by email. They completed the job in seven days which was exactly what he predicted despite the extra effort required due to my builders lousy dry-walling. Each day they arrived early and sat outside and knocked exactly on their start time! They took extra effort to protect all of our hardwoods, furniture, and carpet and left no damage. Throughout the job they were extremely polite- no loud radios, talking, etc....just painting. Also, this was the first time I ever had a contractor show me their mistakes before I found them and address it immediately. We are very happy with the finished product and working with these guys made a a huge and complex paint job as easy as possible for us.

Everything worked out real well. In the end they didn?t do a couple of things. The owner worked with us really well. He kept us informed of everything that they were doing and how they were doing. He was a real nice guy to work with. I would use them again in future

Newly purchased condo required painting throughout including the built in one car garage. I first contacted Ken the morning of my closing and he came that same evening to look over the job and give me an estimate. I needed the job done pretty quickly as my closing and move in date were quite close. Ken is extremely courteous (even took his shoes off when he entered my condo) and professional. He gave me a very competitive quote and completed the job promptly - two coats of paint throughout the entire 1,550 square feet of condo and garage. Garage actually required three coats as the previous owner had painted it a hideous shade of dark green. Ken's quote also included repairing numerous nail pops, a couple of stress cracks and holes made in the drywall by the previous owner. Ken and his crew actually completed the condo painting in a single 12 hour work day. Condo was completely empty so there was nothing for them to have to move around. Ken and his crew were extremely concientious and did a very good job. I would highly recommend Newcoat Painting.

They did an excellent job painting and the price was very reasonable. They were quick and punctual without sacrificing quality.

Promptly gave estimate. Began exactly when he said he would. Went around the house explaining what he was going to do. Extremely thorough and meticulous preparing house for painting, beyond what other painters had suggested or been willing to do. Helpful in discussion of paint colors. Beautiful paint job. Ken takes great pride in his work and clearly wants his customer to be satisfied. Brought a helper with him who was also very accomplished. I occasionally hear Ken explaining what/how to do something and he wanted to make sure his other painter understood why and how something was done as well as what to do. Overall, a fabulous job. A very nice, easy to work with person.

The owner of the company Jim Gilbert came to give me an estimate and he noted things that previous estimators did not. He identified areas of wood that needed to be changed and I would agree. This might have come up as a surprise with other companies after you signed them up for the job. This led me to think that he was going to do a good job and knew what to look for. He got the wood that matched and replaced it and also did more than he noticed. There were no additional charges for any extra work that he did. He and his assistant worked very well as a team and they were both business like. They did the caulking and power washed the house before they started the work. They also used paint that was highly recommended.

The work was done very soon after I hired them and it was done very quickly. There were some minor miscommunications that the owner addressed immediately. The work was done without any supervison on my part. Most of the work completed was excellent. I was dissappointed that hardware and lights were not masked better and did get paint on them. Some old brass hardware was apparently cleaned with a wire brush, leaving a big contrast to the other brass. The interior ceilings and fireplace were done perfectly! The exterior doors were closed while still wet and essentially painted closed. When I broke the paint to open them, the finish around the seal was damaged.

Very well. They had sanded the deck and did an excellent job.
