Ken did an awesome painting of our laundry, kitchen, dining area and 2 bathrooms. He was very maticulous and treated our home like he was painting in his own home. Ken gave a two color estimate for walls and ceiling in three rooms. His estimate was better than two other companies. The paint used was better quality than the other companies. He was through. Everything was covered wall to wall. A few small repairs were needed. The appearance was uniform when completed. He was on time each day. He has an excellent work ethic. He did ask questions to be sure the work was as desired. The cleanup was through. The experience was positive.

Ken, the owner and his brother Mark, did a great job. Both guys are very professional and clearly know and do their trade well. I got a quote from Ken in early March 2021. Ken was prompt and did a good job understanding the scope of work. Ken promptly answered questions I had and overall communication was excellent. After getting 4 quotes, I decided on Newcoat based on Angi reviews, a decent price and my subsequent interaction with Ken. The house was painted in early June (on schedule as I had other projects needing completion first.). Right away I knew I had made a good choice, as Ken's eye for detail and his desire to ensure I was happy with the work were evident. Ken replaced several trim / fascia boards at no additional cost and used only premium Sherwin Williams (Emerald) paint. The weather did not cooperate very well, but Ken did not rush to complete the job. Ken and Mark also patched some significant holes in my garage walls and did a great job making the garage look really nice. It's been a month since the work was completed, and we are extremely happy with the work. We would definitely use Newcoat for future paint projects!

Ken and his brother Mark did an excellent job patching settling cracks and painting the interior of my home. Ken is a stickler for detail, does an excellent job, and his prices are more than fair. Ken and Mark are awesome. If I had to describe them in one word it would be “thorough”. Fortunately I am able to use as many words as I like, so I will gladly add professional, friendly, detailed, polite, honest and integrity. In short, you can’t ask for more. They simply exceeded my expectations and I would be happy to recommend them to anyone wanting to add “wow” value for your house. The experience was seamless and I know these two worked diligently to make my house watertight and up to modern standards.

Great as usual. He did the same thing 9 years earlier and it held up well but we wanted it painted again. The price was slightly more than 9 years ago but with better quality paint. Great job again.

Ken, the owner of Newcoat Painting, did an outstanding job painting the exterior my home. I could not be happier. Ken is a true professional. He is responsive and on time. He pays attention to the smallest detail. He repaired cracked and damaged wood strips on the side of my garage door before painting them. The price was very reasonable. Ken & worker did a great job! I had a few specific requests, trim be brushed & rolled, high impact areas be double coated, and garage door be sprayed. Ken met these requests, and went beyond them in several areas. The job went very smooth and finished timely. I would consider using Newcoat Painting again on future jobs

Ken and his brother came for the job. This was the 2nd time I used them. I waited to write this review, as I wanted to see how the exterior paint held up. If there was a grade better than an A, I would give it to him. He is so professional and personable. He really does go out of his way to make sure you are happy. My interior "dark" wall (we had 2 of our 4 living room walls painted a dark plum color) took 4 coats to completely cover it. Ken came back 2 days later to look at the walls and ensure there were no light spots. He touched up a couple areas he found (we didn't see any light spots) at no charge. His office is in Livonia and we are in Dexter, west of Ann Arbor and he didn't charge me for this. He just did it. I would hire him for any painting job. The exterior has held up extremely well after almost 2 years of Michigan weather. Hire Ken!!!

Newcoat Painting is a thoroughly professional team. Our living and dining rooms look great. Ken and Alec arrived at 8:00 a.m. as they had promised, moved large furniture out of the way, and covered everything with drop cloths and plastic. They repaired damaged places in the ceiling and wall, and set about painting. By four p.m. they had applied two coats everywhere and it all looked wonderful. I was impressed that at various times they consulted with my wife and me when they were not sure of what we wanted or how we wanted it done. They cleaned and straightened everything before they left. We can recommend Newcoat without reservation.

The project went very well. Ken and his brother, Mark, were great to work with. They were on-time, very friendly, did what they promised and more. Ken is very thorough and professional; he is very detail oriented and cares about the quality of his work. He found problems with old and rotted wood that were missed by a construction professional we had hired just weeks prior in order to repair what we recognized as problem spots. Ken consulted with us about these problems; it was clear some boards needed to be replaced. He did this for us at a reasonable price. The finished work looks very good. We would certainly hire him again.

Ken and crew did a fantastic job making an 80 year old house look great. He has a wonderful eye for knowing where to give extra attention to particular areas to really make a overall difference in appearance. They skim coated various boards to give a smoother look (and also rolled on extra paint). I showed Ken six shutters stored in the garage, which were looking very dirty, old and decrepit. He took them home, cleaned and painted them and they looked almost new after he installed them. The windowsill in my garage was so rotted out and ugly I couldn't bring myself to take a "before picture". Ken repaired and replaced part of it, turning it to the best looking windowsill of the house. It's relatively easy to power wash, tape and paint spray a house. Newcoat Painting went far, far beyond that which was especially what I wanted/needed for my older house.

Excellent job. Cleaned up and took care of plants in the area. Very concerned about my satisfaction -would hire him ( and have) for other jobs in the future.

IWent very well, except for second coat on the deck. He closed up early due to bee sting and I jinished the final coulple of hours. No slam on him, He swelled up like a baloon.

We had two estimates done for this work. Ken's estimate was $1000 less than his competitor, and I felt at ease with Ken immediately. He listened to all of my concerns and walked around the exterior of the house with me to make sure he understood what I wanted done. We did have to wait a couple of weeks for him to come out and do the work, but he was up front about this when he sent me his estimate. We decided to go with Ken, and he was very responsive when I e-mailed him. We set up a date for him to come out, but it rained that day. Since all of the work was outdoor painting, Ken had e-mailed me the day before the work was to be done to set up an alternative date in case it did rain as that was the forecast. We did need to move to the alternative date (a couple of days later, and then a couple of days after that as it rained again), but Ken kept in contact to make sure we knew what was going on. He came out and did all of the work as expected and the outside of the house where he worked looks great. He put in the extra effort when replacing some rotten wood on the front columns to make sure he matched the existing custom wood work so that everything still looked right. He also patched up a few holes in our vinyl siding just to make sure everything looked good and is coming back to power wash the outside of the house at no additional cost. We are very happy with Ken's work and really appreciate his going the extra mile to get everything cleaned up and looking its best! We'll be sure to call Ken again once we've saved up and are ready to paint the inside of the house :)

We have had paint swatches on our walls for years, since we have been planning on painting various rooms on our own, but never seem to have the time or energy. At long last, we decided to use Angie's List to obtain professional paint quotes for these spaces. The various quotes were fair, but it was clear from the start that Ken at Newcoat Painting was the best choice. He was professional and was offering brand and finish recommendations to us as he reviewed the spaces. The recommendations were based on his decades of experience, as he talked about the pros and cons of each brand with regard to coverage, # of applications, streaking, fading, etc. Once we decided to go with Newcoat Painting for the work, he was able to fit us into their schedule quickly. He checked in a few days before the date to confirm the time and let us know when the team would be arriving. The estimate was clear that 30% down is due upon the start of the project, which is also fair, since the company is purchasing all of the paint and supplies. The job ended up taking only two days. He and Mark so worked hard the entire time. They were meticulous and went above and beyond what we were expecting by touching up areas we had not even included in the original quote and did not charge us for it. The previous owners and builder of our home did a sloppy job with plastering and splashing color all over the baseboards and ceiling. Ken and Mark took the time to fix the former owner/builder mistakes, leaving everything in phenomenal shape. Throughout the process, Ken checked in with us to review things and make sure we were happy with the work. He and Mark were courteous, kind, quiet and professional. The entire experience exceeds what we were expecting. We can?t stop marveling and staring at how beautiful the walls and baseboards look. It feels like we have a new home. We just can?t believe we waited this long to do this and had such an amazing experience that we plan to use Newcoat for future projects, such as some other interior spaces and the home exterior. If you are on the fence about painting your home or using Newcoat, don?t hesitate. It?s totally worth it.

Ken and his brother are the best. We have a 3400 square foot house with very high ceilings. They did all the exterior painting and a large portion of our main floor consisting of the living room and hallways. They had to put 4 coats on in some places and did so willingly and with a smile. This is the 2nd time we have used Newcoat, as they did our entire interior of our last house. It won't be the last. I am currently awaiting a quote for our kitchen, secondary hallway and child's bedroom. They are the best and you won't be sorry. They used Behr paints and they look great. Ken will not leave until you are 100% satisfied, which is truly a lost art in today's world. Thank you Ken and thank you Newcoat!

Everything was wonderful. They were very thorough and made sure that everything was covered so that paint did not get on anything at all (even my wood stack on the front porch). They were friendly and punctual. The paint job was excellent and I will hire them again when I need painting at my property.
