Description of Work: The entire process was completely without incident. We were able to set up an appointment t that suited us without difficulty. Ray arrived on time and took a great deal of care in prepping the area and maintaining it so there was nothing for us to clean up afterward. The work was done professionally and quickly; quality was great. He also gave us inputs on steps we should take to maintain the fireplace itself in top condition, as well as some tips that would make the use of our fireplace more enjoyable and efficient. We had so much confidence in the work, we referred our Daughter and Son in Law to High Hat for cleaning their chimney.

Description of Work: Ray cleaned the chimney for our fireplace. We have used High Hat for years and the results have always been excellent. Ray goes beyond doing the job and suggests things that will improve results. He suggested I move the timing of my chimney cleaning to minimize the ash smell that would develop in the house after rain. He also suggested getting a box of baking soda to put in the fireplace during the off season. I did that and there has not been any ash smell at all this summer! Highly recommend High Hat.

Description of Work: I have used this company for over 18 years for all of my fireplace and chimney repairs and cleaning. Ray and his son do excellent work at a fair price and never try to sell you on services or repairs that are unnecessary. Ray's wife Marie runs the office, all are great and reliable people! This time out besides cleaning the chimney and fireplace Ray cleaned, fixed and oiled my built in screen, glass doors and flue without being asked and at no additional charge. They're over 20 years old and like brand new now!

+ -1 moreRay tuck pointed our chimney (filled in mortar between the bricks where it was missing). The whole job took about 5 hours. He did a good job explaining what needed to be done "why" and what the results would be. He was even able to do it without us having to stay home and wait for him on a weekday. We just left a check for him and a note saying where the water and electricity were that he could access. Looks like he did a thorough job, as far as I can tell. He also pulled some ivy off the chimney that was too far up for us to reach.

They even explained to us how to use the chimney and gave us some good safety and efficiency advice since we are new homeowners. Ray also gave us an estimate for some tuck pointing that needed to be done on the exterior.
