The job started on time and was complete in 4 hours or so. There was no mess to clean up and the completed work looks great. Best of all the work is guaranteed! When the initial inspection happened, Randy arrived on time and was very informative and professional. He was even able to get our job squeezed in the schedule so that we wouldn't have to wait 3 weeks (this is based on the severity of your problem). I'm very pleased with the service I have received from them. I would highly recommend them and I would also use them again (but I hope I won't have to).

Well. I asked questions and got answers explained clearly. Of the five vendors I invited to assess and propose a solution to my leaky basement, FSM was the only one to propose installing a retro fit measure directly on top of the footing, the "Water Guard" system. There is financing available at 2.99% or zero interest for 4 years, and a 10% reduction of overall cost if paid cash. A 10% deposit is required prior to start of work and 4% discount if the deal is sealed at the time of the assessment appointment. Not all items were factored into the quote. For example, $500.00 additional for city permits, $200.00 for carpenter work needed in a cedar paneled closet, etc. When asked whether the Water Guard System would compromise the integrity of the foundation footing, because there would be some of the footing cut away in order to create the necessary pitch, right? FSM replied, "Nope. Not at all. We will not cut away part of the footing. I then asked, "How FSM would achieve the correct incline, or pitch toward the center of the basement (where the sump pump is located already) from the perimeter footing?" I was told, "Water seeks the course of least resistance it will flow to where it needs to go."

They arrived on time. Were courtious, polite, and efficient. The crew of three cleaned the crawl space plugged a hole in the wall, Insulated and covered the entire space. Not smelling that musty odor. Feel extremely relieved to have the back up systems on the triple safe sump pump. They showed me the work in process and I was completely satisfied. My previous sump pump had broken in April and flooded the crawl and lower level. I am very happy to have this system in place. It was a little pricy, but the peace is worth it as my lower level is my main family room. Totally delighted with the service.

Team arrived right on time and quickly explained the details of what they would be doing and asked if I had any questions. Encapsulation was done very thoroughly and looked like the pictures they showed me of representative work they have done in the past. During the quote process Dale did not blink an eye crawling into the crawlspace and showing pictures of what was going on and what they would do. It went great! They were on time and got right to work. Their Poly level system was injected under the walk thru small holes that were drilled. The walkway was raised up and now slopes away from the porch. And you can barely see the holes they drilled and re-patched. It looks great! Plus it came with a 5 year warranty...which is great!

It went pretty well. They did make a minor mistake in cutting the pipes, but we got it resolved. They were on time and professional. I would recommend them to others.

We never had that kind of work done before, so I would say their price is pretty reasonable. My husband dealt with them mostly but as far I observed, they were very professional, were very pleasant to work with. I would not have any bad comments about the workers at all. They put plastic down everywhere because they were digging but they keep everything clean and they clean up everything they needed to. I will use them again for sure. I would recommend them.

Took a day longer than expected only because of the unforeseen foundation thickness. This was a fault of the builder.

I have forgotton the guys name who came out for the estimate but he throughly eplained what they were going to do! He answered all questions we had. I had a $300 off coupon from Angies and he readily accepted making a $3000.00 $2700.00. The workers that came out were very fast at their job and told us to call if we had any issues. He ssid just call if there was amy problems and a service man would be out in a day or two after we callled to inspect what was wrong and someone would be out to repair it. They were also on time which is unusal in our experience. were any . Vood company to deal withery impressed with the fast repairs. Good Company to deal with!!!

Inspector cam out and look at area and discussed what work would be done, set a date where the work crew would come and do the work. Explained warranties of all work. Received call two days before work scheduled to confirm appointment and work to be done. Work. Crew foreman called morning of appointment to say they were on their way to site. Crew arrived promptly on time and began job - a lot of left behind material was removed from crawl space area and placed on the curb. Job completed in less than 4 hours - foreman conducted site inspection and explained warranties, sign final paperwork and crew left taking all stuff that had been pulled out from the crawl space.

The team that worked with us did a great job, protected our floors with protective plastic, covered up furniture in our basement with plastic to protect it from dust from the work, and cleaned up before leaving. Very professional. I would not hesitate using them again if we need work on our basement or foundation. They even returned to our house to answer some questions concerning some new squeaks in the floor, discovered the reason and gave us simple ways to solve it. Each time we called we with questions we were given answers and shown much patience.

4 years ago they installed a full perimeter waterproofing system in my basement. I started to get a little sewer smell in the basement after the work was finished so i called and asked if it was anything that they could have done to make it smell like that down there. i was assured that it had nothing to do with them and everything was done correctly, mind you they didnt send someone out to look at it, i was told this over the phone. Fast forward to this year and i was having more work done on my drains in my basement by a MASTER plumber. He had both my sanitary and my storm drains exposed and he told me they had tied into the sanitary system and not the Storm system, which is what they should have tied into. so thats why i had an intense sewer odor in my basement for 4 years. So i called them and explained the situation, they told me that it was right on the paper work and blah blah blah. so finally they sent someone out to look at it. he comes in and looks at it and he too realized that they didnt hook it up right. i had him take pictures and told him to have his boss call me. so they called me back and basically tried to point fingers at everyone else in the company on who's fault it was. He also admitted that it has not been up to code for that last 4 years. Then he proceeds to tell us that they are gonna have to dig up more of my floor to fix it correctly and that they wouldnt be covering any of the costs to fix said floor. I had to threaten with litigation for them to finally agree to fix it correctly and pay for the flooring to be replaced. Now The Master plumber i had doing my work set it up to the point where all they had to do was run there pipe to a spot that he already setup for them to tie into. So he basically did half the job for them. So they come in hook up the pipe and re cement my floor, but they failed to clean up ANYTHING. Mud all over my basement floor and walls along with cement on my walls. Also mud all in my breezeway and on my door leading to the outside. My wife sent them an email and they failed to respond at all. Needless to say we will never be using them or recommending them for anything ever again. Come to find out the people they have running your DRAIN systems arent licensed plumbers and apparently dont know how to tell a SEWER drain from a STORM drain. So i caution everyone that has a system with them, you might wanna make sure that yours is hooked up properly.

We were very pleased and satisfied. They came right out and gave us an estimate and stuck to that estimate the whole time. I would highly recommend them.

On the scheduled day of service the site foreman went over all the project scope again, however, his dimensions were different than Jeff's. These differences cause a $200.00 project cost addition above what we agreed to pay when the original contract was drawn up and acknowledged by FSM & my husband and myself. With a quick calculation on what we originally paid per sq. ft to what this change would cost per the additional sq. ft we agreed to move forward with the additional cost.

Called to set up the appointment and I told the girl on the phone that i had family coming over on this day and she said it would only take an hour for the appointment. They mailed me information prior to the inspector coming so we had the chance to look over the brochure and get familiar with the products. They even sent a picture of the inspector so we knew who was coming. Inspection day came and the inspector was 10 min. late. i know it shouldn't be a big deal, but late is late.... Also, it wasn't the inspector that was suppose to come (we understand people get sick,etc...). Anyways, inspector gave us alot of information. Only down side was that he was here for almost 2 hours!! Price was in our range for the wall repair which we might have FSM fix for us. However, the price for the "waterproofing" was a little higher than others that quoted us. Another down side is that the estimate is only good for 7 days. unless we were ready to sign the contract that day, we only have 7 days to make a decision. I hope that the price is still good when we are ready to do the work.. ***For people looking for a waterproofing company***- Do your research!!! Most companies (even this one) say their INSIDE method is waterproofing. ITS NOT!! Its called WATER DIVERSION. Every company that we contacted ALL have their great sales pitch, but NONE of them say their system is water diversion. Waterproofing is to stop the water from getting inside your home. These inside systems are ALL water diversions. Water still enters your home but gets discharged thru a sump pump or a drain tile system on the inside which takes the water out thru your drain line. IF you have cracks in your walls like we do, an inside system will still have water coming in those cracks and then its just covered up to hide the water. We have had over 12+ estimates and have done a lot of research online. if u dont believe me, go to www.mywaterproofing.com. this site has alot of good information especially with the inside systems. inside systems are alot cheaper compared to the outside method. this company and some other companies say that the outside method doesn't last as long. thats probably correct if its not done correctly. my father in law had his one wall waterproofed on the outside by a buddy of his and its been 12 years and NO leaks. also this company told me no one gives a very good warranty for the outside. not true. i found a licensed company that is going to give me a 30 year warranty. i'm not trying to knock this company because we are probably going to use them for atleast the wall repair, I just want people to know the difference about water diversion and waterproofing. positives: good price angies list discount can finance with no interest for 4 years-***BIG PLUS this is one reason we might hire them for the wall repair!! negatives: too long for the estimate (2 hours) price only good for 7 days They called today 4-18-13 to see if we had any questions and if we hired anyone yet. i said we will be hiring someone but not them. The person on the phone asked why then asked who we hired. i said it doesn't matter then he wanted to know what was wrong with them. I told them after much research and the system they offered us doesn't fit our needs. i said after i researched online their system goes ON TOP of the footer which is WRONG!!! he said well there system isn't a drain tile system. correct, which means water has to go OVER the footer to get into their system which several sites online say that can cause a structural issue. also, if its on a footer that means theirs system is level and NOT pitched. so how does the water get into the sump pump?? he started to get into an arguement and i hung up.

The salesmen came out and measured the area and gave a price for each component we wanted.Set up a date to install.Did Pre install walk through. Put up dust protection upstairs,where they would be walking,also draped plastic over area that was not getting any workThey had to install a couple of electric plugs for the new sump pump. (which is two sump pumps with a battery backup that doesn't lose it's charge ) which is good because our sump pump runs all the time..They did clean up which could have been better

Overall I was very satisfied with this company. Dale came to my house and inspected the problem that I had described to him. this included him going into the crawl space and investigating the problems and possible solutions. He took photos of all of his findings and went over everything with me very methodically. We discussed all of my options and laid out a plan and scheduled a date to have the work done. Ryan showed up with his crew on time and was very professional. We did a pre-work walk through and a post walk through as well. One part of the job consisted of sealing the bond on the basement portion part of my home with spray foam insulation and R-30 as well. The major portion of the job took place in the crawl space where the same spray foam and R-30 was used on the bond. Also, two joists were sistered to help stabilize the cracks that had occurred from the moisture over the years. Ryan and his crew also bagged up all of the nasty insulation and garbage that had fallen from in between the joist and even took it to the curb for me. Silverglo was applied to all of the walls in the crawl space and the floor was lined with the Vaporloc Elite and sealed with the double sided tape. A new everlast door was installed to replace my 1/2 inch plywood door as well. I could not have been more impressed with the clean up job that the crew did as well. Overall I would and will recommend this company many times over

I am writing to angies list becouse of the fantastic work done on my home. Late in Nove 2012 we had our crawl space encapsulated. The house floors are warmer and nolonger have a musty smell that seeped in. The office personnel and salesman were very .professional . The crew showed up on time and were done in a few hours. They cleaned up there mess and even reatached my dryer vent for me. I would highly recommend their services Sencerely Barb Ginther

We had water coming in our basement through the floors and sump pump problems for a couple of years. We decided to have the promblem fixed and fixed correctly. We were impressed with FSM from the first phone call. FSM was an excellent choice. This is a professional company from the office staff to the inspector and crew. We had other estimates but FSM was very competitive in pricing, professionalism and promptness. We would highly recommend this company.

Educates the Homeowner: After discovering a water issue in my basement I contacted this Company and two others to evaluate my issue and provide an estimate on the solutions. I based my decision to contact this company based on a positive recommendation from Home Improvement Website and excellent rating from Angie's List. When the representative came to my home he listened to my concerns and inspected the problem. He diagnosed my issue and educated me on my options. The representative seemed very knowledgeable and caring about solving my issues. I have since contracted with him to address my issue. I will re visit this rating after the work is done.

The company put in a complete days work every day. They also explained any questions I had while they were there. They estimated four days but were able to complete the project in three. I didn't have any foundation plantings so they didn't have to work around that. I wasn't planning on being there all three days, but someone should be available because they need to go inside to make sure they aren't disrupting the interior of your home. They worked around any appointments I had.

The crew should up on time, was very polite and professional. Installation went smooth. They answered all of my questions, cleaned up well, and were gone within a few hours of showing up. I did have a few follow up questions after the installation was complete. Each time I called, I was connected to a technician who took the time to answer all of my questions and discuss specifics of the system they installed. Before hiring Foundation Systems of Michigan, I had different waterproofing contractors out on 2 separate occasions to address issues I was having. In each case, I was not satisfied with their level of work or their customer service. I decided to join Angie's List and find a reputable company and be done with this issue once and for all. Foundation Systems of Michigan comes highly recommended by Angie's List members and there is a good reason why. They do good work and seem to stand behind what they do. In my experience, that is not something you find with most contractors today. If you are in need of a waterproofing contractor, do yourself a favor and hire Foundation Systems of Michigan. I highly recommend them.
