It went very well. The representative was a down-to-earth guy and lived in the general area of my neighborhood. He explained the procedure they use very well and had printed material backing his explanation. The crew was punctual, and they did a great job. I paid a bit more than other estimates, but their product I felt was much better. I got this job done in 2013 and haven't had an issue since. I definitely recommend their product and their service. In fact, I did recommend services to a friend. The same guy came out and told them that unfortunately leveling their concrete was not what they needed. My friend was grateful that the company was not just providing a product just to get the money.
Description of Work: My driveway and parts of my walkway needed leveling. I wanted to correct this so that years down the road, the concrete would not break apart or cause an injury.

Their sales rep was polite and knowledgeable. Their work crew were the same. They quickly shored up the wall to prevent its falling. Then, after a few weeks, they returned and completed the work needed. It's been roughly six months since the job was completed and I'm well satisfied. They did not waterproof but that was my choice as it would have raised the final cost.

It went very well. The leader of the crew called me everyday to let me know when they would arrive. He also took time to describe the differences between what he was going to do versus what the sales guy pitched. There are always differences. My only complaint was as follows: I specifically asked the sales rep with 15 years experience about how they would work around my ducts that are under the basement floor. He said not a problem. They were a problem for the crew. The helpful and professional crew leader walked me through options and while it did cost a few hundred dollars more I was satisfied. Always have a contingency budget. The B below is specific to the Sales team incident and not the construction crew, who were top notch.
Description of Work: Waterproofing basement system. This is a system that doesn't stop water from entering from the foundation but rather redirects it back outside. The process is detailed. They break away the concrete along the perimeter of your basement, then did a trench and installed a slotted pvc pipe that slopes to a sump pump. I have a 1100 sq foot basement. I also had a dehumidifier installed that covers about 2800 sq. Feet.

They did an excellent job. We have very hard clay ground and they really had to work to get the ground ready and it took them a lot of time in just drilling. I felt bad for them because of how hard the ground was. We were quoted a two day time frame and they finished on time and took the time to work with us and make the adjustments that we wanted done. I would definitely use them again and recommend them if you need foundation work done.

Initial install good. Cleaned up, on time. BUT I had never had a primary sump failure. They put in their crock and their primary pump. This primary pump failed. I believe a year and a half ago. Flooded my basement as they didn't put an straight hook up on the charging system and the water tripped the plug. Now again it appears that this has happened again. (PRIMARY PUMP FALURE) Its been two years since the last falure and ruination on my basement. Now my basement is flooded again. I called Friday. left message. No one called me back until Monday. And I was unable to actually reach a real person in 4 tries. Finally talked with Megan. Informed me that they do not have any emergency number or way to reach anyone immediately if their system fails. AND NOW they can't even come and look at it until Wednesday. This is totally insane. Am I supposed to call a third party? Or let my house be ruined each time their system fails. TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE. UPDATE: I am happy to report that Foundation Systems Management came out and fixed my system. The manager came out personally and explained everything and updated my system and provided me with information to help keep my system running more efficiently. Thank you FSM for helping me and giving me info and replacing the malfunctioning parts. Will do busness again.

The crack leak was address as agreed upon but they had to disconnect my sub-pump and did not reconnect it correctly and it spayed water all over the basement until I discovered the issue and fixed it myself, The repair was different than other bids in that they added a barrier to the crack to drain the water into the drain tile system. This a more expensive process than the typical method of filling the crack. The reasons they gave for this were sound and I think a better overall solution. They added a new discharge drain pipe for my pump. First they had the pipe flowing up hill so I called the office to get them to change it so the water would not gather and possibly freeze by the house. Next they left the current discharge open and just covered it with dirt which left a hole in the yard. They did come out and cover it up, but should have done it as part of the original effort..

Came over and gave me an estimate. Receive the earliest appointment they had which was two months in the future. Was told that the work would be performed sometime between 9-1pm. At 1pm on the day work was to be performed, I called their office to see the status of the job. Told me their Foreman would get in touch. 30 minutes later the Foreman called and said he was given the wrong number so he never called me in the morning and went on to other jobs. He was in the middle of their second job and would call when they were on the way. That was nearly 2 hours ago. Common sense would make you think if you had the wrong number you would call your office and get that corrected. Big mistake trusting this company and that they would actually perform the work. Had visions of this work being complete by Mothers day since we are hosting. Also wasted a vacation day from work thinking they would actually perform this work. My only guess is this job is small so we were moved to the back of the list for the day. Having the wrong telephone number is not a good excuse and is quite embarrassing to use. If they had just been honest and let me know the work wouldn't be performed I wouldn't have wasted a vacation day from work. I also would have gone with a different company that actually intended to perform the work. Disappointing to say the least. Called and cancelled my work and will go with a more credible company.
Description of Work: Provided a quote. Scheduled an appointment two months in advance. Day of work, no show. Foreman said he was given the wrong number and that is why the work wasn't performed during the hours I was told.

I have to say that every single person I encountered was very pleasant, polite, and displayed exceptional customer service. My sole issues were the following: First, the initial "pestering" calls - they seemed to call every other day trying to find out if I'd made a decision on using them, even AFTER I'd responded and told them we would contact them when we're ready. Second, I'd had a seller's inspection done, so I sent the quote to the home inspector for his opinion, and he thought it was a bit higher than he'd expect, so that was initially concerning. Third, and worst of all, the installer did not mount the stantion properly; luckily the city building inspector caught it, because I had no idea how it was supposed to look. The installer was supposed to attach the stantion to the floor beam, and didn't seem to realize it until the inspector pointed out the holes in the top of the stantion for inserting bolts. Without the bolts, there's nothing to stop the beam from sliding off the top of the stantion (over time). Despite those issues, the crew was polite and professional, and they covered everything up. The building inspector added that the work they did was good, they just should not have missed something so basic and critical. I would use them again, but they wouldn't be my first choice and I'd probably have someone who's experienced with this to observe/review the work. I want to grade them higher, but the stantion issue was surprising and concerning.
Description of Work: Repaired a crack around a joist (not sure if that's the right term) in a foundation wall; replaced an ill-fitted stantion/pole from a previous homeowner.

Unfortunately, with the volume of calls we receive this time of year we are unable to meet the needs of potential homeowners. Sorry for any inconvenience this caused you.
I recorded the date and window in my calendar while we were on the phone. One of the days (thu) I definitely could not get away from work. I was clear. Agent told me Wed but erroneously recorded it for Thu. I received an automated call indicating Thu appointment. I followed directions to indicate it was the wrong day which resulted in me being dumped into their call hopper like every other person who calls in. Woman who answered made the correction to Wed. Because this is a rental, and during work hours, I asked for a call when they were on their way. During initial call, they provided me a 3 hour window when they would arrive. Wed comes and no one calls when they were on the way. I receive a call that person was at the house and am I home. Home? I don't live there. Since they goofed, I asked them to go ahead and provide the estimate. They refuse to do so, "per the owner." They will only provide an estimate if all owners are present. Well, my wife, myself, my brother, and his wife are not all going to be present for what is likely $400 of work on 2 slabs of concrete work in the driveway. Regardless, the estimator is at the home now, regardless of the mistake. FSM still refuses to estimate the work. There is a reason a company insists all homeowners are there. Angie's list will strike my review if I elaborate. Consider this as well. If they paid a person to go out to the home, and will have him leave to return some other time when you are there, that labor cost has to be re-couped.
Description of Work: FSM was to provide an estimate. Scheduling of the estimate was clear on which day and the contact method.

On the date scheduled to start the work, they tried to raise the price on the additional quote by nearly 50%. I have never seen anyone do business like this. They noticed this after about 80% of the work was completed. I feel very taken advantage of, especially since they were already in the middle of the job and I had no choice but to comply. We had a signed contract and they didn?t stick to that. I?m very disappointed with this company and will never use them again.

Job went well. The crew was professional and respectful of my home. They laid out plastic over my flooring and cleaned up well when they were done. However, I thought the job was going to be a good 1/2 day and it turned out to be only 2 hours. So considering the amount of time expended I would say the repair was on the pricey side considering I was billed $1500 for 2 hours with a 2 man crew. With the job primarily being labor and minimal materials that seems a bit high to bill out a job at basically $750/hour. Materials used were 2 vinyl panels and enough cement to will approximately 2 cu. ft.

FSM came out and in the area of the patio made a recommendation (that included taking up part of the patio) and followed it in writing. Up to that point , very professional. I gave them the go ahead. Before they started they informed me that they were no longer doing that type of work (removal of concrete) but gave me the name of two subcontractors that were "great". I contacted both.. both came to look at it and promised written estimates. One ( Olsen Cement) never got back to me even after multiple calls and the other (Affiliated Tradesmen) gave me a verbal estimate. I accepted it and asked for follow up written estimate but got none and only got vague assurances that work would be done. After 3 months and multiple phone have heard nothing back.

The inspector used scare tactics to try to get me to spend approximately $10k on encapsulation. I didn't do it. Later when I had another company come out they pointed out all of the more important structural problems such as cracked joists and bad repair jobs. How did FSM miss that? It makes me think that the sales guy is working on commissions and not looking out for the homeowners best interests.

The guy was on time and pleasant / professional. He found a nonworking sump pump and suggested we have an anchor put into the wall and drilling into the front yard to create a brace for the house foundation. They proposed charing us $3500 for the brace, which we thought we might do later (the guy indicated waiting another year on it would be fine). For the sump pump they wanted $1500. I called to schedule the installation and was told by the guy who came out to see us that he was wrong in telling us we could just to the sump pump. Rather, there is a $3K "minimum" on all services. What? That's nuts. He seemed to be waiting for me to say I'd want to just go ahead and do the brace at the same time (I do not). Then I got on Angie's List and found a company who can install a new sump pump and haul away our other one. Guess how much that would cost? $330. I highly doubt this is company is reasonable in their estimates.

Before I forget, the city inspector that completed the final inspection said he knew that there wouldn?t be a problem because Foundation Systems of Michigan did the work! There was a lot of work to be done and the job was completed in two days! $12,540 seems like a lot of money but is very reasonable for the work and quality. Also, I have this financed for four years with no interest! I want to give kudos to Salvador and his crew for a job well done! Also, I want to give an extra shout out for Meghan for exemplary professionalism, and customer service. Meghan was always professional and sweet even though I continued to reschedule the FSM service and the final inspection!!
Description of Work: I am not going into detail but will give you an overall. Waterproofed the whole basement with wonderful waterproofing technology! Now I don’t worry when we have storms and lots of rain. My basement is dry for the first time in six years since I bought the house! I had a crack along the basement foundation that was increasingly expanding. If not corrected the wall and foundation would probably have collapsed! They used amazing technology to include Anchors, and power braces to correct the problem!
