It went very well. The person who did the inspection & gave me the quote was very courteous & professional, He explained everything very well. They were pretty busy so it took 2 months before they could do the work. The actual work was done to my satisfaction. The crew did a very good job and cleaned up well afterwards.

Perfect! From start to finish this was one of the best experiences. The entire team is friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. The price was fair. We are very happy with the work that was done and wouldn't hesitate for a second to recommend this fantastic company.

We had a french drain and a sump pump put in. The basement was never quite dry after they put the French drain. We called to complain and they sent out the repair man. I said yes the basement was damp before but only when it rained, and now that was damp all the time. I tried to explain to him that the basement was only wet when we a had major rain fall out side. He said that we could purchase a $2100 dehumidifier. When we complained about that. He told us his boss said that we could purchase it for a have it for $1800 and there was a service fee I think around $150. We said we where not going to pay a service fee. In the spring when it raining a lot we started getting water coming through the floor. They came out again and told us to add feeder lines or paint the floor with this special water proof paint. So we painted it. Once again after one of the heavy rains water came up threw the floor. Maybe more work needs to be done they should had said that before they did the job. We trusted the quote they gave us. We trusted what they told us, about what needed to be done to water proof the basement. They where not the least cheapest quote we had or the most expensive.

My crawl space had a strange smell, kind of like mildew only really strong. FSM came out and inspected the crawl space (on a Saturday) and gave a thorough explanation of what was causing the smell (mold, actually) and what needed to be done. They put me on their schedule and also on standby in case someone cancelled. The installation crew was great. They took about 4-5 hours to install the Vapor Loc Elite system in my crawl space. Before they got started they used a spray to kill all of the mold. There wasn't any bad smell from the spray or the vapor loc system they put in place. They even went above & beyond by taking pictures of some plumbing issues (2 water pipes and a sewer pipe that were in bad shape) they discovered that needed immediate attention that I wouldn't have known about otherwise. I would definitely recommend them. It was a bit expensive, but well worth it.

The FSM inspector, Wayne B., came out to my home (a condo) on September 25th to estimate a water problem that I was having outside the home. He indicated that a french drain would solve the water accumulation problem that I was experiencing. However he wasn’t sure if his supervisor would be interested in doing the project because the company does not warrant french drain installations. Wayne called his supervisor and he said that they could do the job if I understood that it would not have a warranty. I said that wasn’t an issue. I called Wayne after waiting 10 days for the quote. He said that his boss was not now interested in the project. I asked Wayne if he could write up his findings without a quote that I could show to the condo association along with two other quotes that I would be receiving. He responded that there would be no problem doing so and he would do it. I received nothing in seven days so I called him again. He said that he emailed it to me the next day so I should check the spam folder, which I did with no success – an obvious lie. I sent him 2 emails requesting an attachment and placed a couple of calls that were ignored. The point is that knowing what I know now, I am not sure I would have wanted to do business with a company that lies to potential customers or doesn’t have the courage to say “NO”.

Very well done. Workers showed up on time and communicated with us every step of the way, showing us what they were doing. They cleaned up well after themselves.

Very high cost unnecessary solution was proposed. No inputs were requested from me to help with the solution.

This is the worse company I have ever had to deal with. My realtor recommend I hire someone last July to work on my crawlspace prior to selling. I hired FSM and have had them out probably 10 times since the initial installation date 10-25-17. Most recent last week. They have yet to fix the issues and have caused damage to my home numerous times around 10. They have a crew of young adults. early 20's coming out to perform work such as installing steel beams and support jacks to lift sagging joist. The salesperson never went into the crawl and failed to quote me on the correct amount of work needed. I had to hire a licensed inspector to file a report on the poor workmanship that had been done. Then they finally sent out someone with experience and off course it cost me more money due to their negligence in the first place. They installed the jacks directly onto the dirt. No cement gravel or etc. I have been going back with FSM via e-mail when they respond and via telephone. They did not pull permits telling me they were not required and it was at the owner's discretion. The sales person basically said he didn't think not pulling a permit would be a big deal since we were not doing an encapsulation just structural work. They give you a lifetime warranty which is useless since if this is the way they continue to operate they will eventually be out of business. Please call around and find a reputable company avoid Foundation Systems of Michigan at any cost. In addition to the entire stressful situation they caused damages on more than one occasion, knocking heat runs down, broken condensation line for air, damaged floor due to incorrect lifting of one joist and not the one next to it. I hired a licensed inspector to prove how shoddy the work they did was. It wasn't until then did they take my concerns serious. They use a finance company and get paid immediately. I am sure this is the biggest reason they feel it isn't important to ensure customer satisfaction and professional work.

FSM did an outstanding job working in the crawl space under our lake house part of which was built in the 1940's. The area is very uneven and some areas are very hard to access. The area looks 1000 times better than it did. All the FSM people were very professional and answered every question we asked. The process was completed in 2 days. It was expensive but I feel that it was worth it.

I was greatly disappointed. The gentleman that came to our home had exceptionally good customer service skills and was super pleasant to work with. Unfortunately, he misdiagnosed the cause of our leak and caused us to unnecessarily spend money that we could not afford to waste. He stated that our drain tile was clogged and was causing water to seep into our basement. He stated that we needed to get our drain tile snaked and unclogged. We immediately called a company to come out that same day to snake our drain tile. There was NO CLOG anywhere!! And our basement leak continued. I would not hire them again. The money we wasted needed to be spent on actually repairing the leak which was a cracked support beam.

Excellent job by a crew of 4 very hard working guys. They spent most of the time from 9am to 7 pm under the house. Everything that was in the crawl space, and didn't belong, was removed and hauled away. Workmanship was great! I would hire them again and recommend them to anyone.

My advise: Shop around and find the company that is the best-fit for your situation, then make your decision, it might even be this company, but it's not the right fit for us. Overview: If you want to pay $3k+ more than other companies, if you want a crawlspace spray that you don't need, add an Everlast door that you didn't want, no itemized bill given, have fine print that they didn't explain.... then go with them. *I'm sure they have other employees that weren't involved that are great employees, but I got to speak with a few that weren't so stellar! From the beginning: When the representatives came out to inspect our crawlspace, they seemed like nice gentlemen - don't get me wrong, but it went downhill from there! The estimate came in about $2k less than what we were told (we were excited, until we looked at the fine print - small boxes were checked for "permits" and "engineering", among other items). When a different rep called us, I asked about these items, along with items that were listed that were not discussed (Everlast door, etc), the discount, as well as the need for electrical outlets (what kind of voltage, etc), the rep said he had no idea and called back a few days later with an answer to only 1 of my questions. I was dissatisfied that they had someone call with minimal knowledge, at least have someone call that could answer my questions... I left it alone. Then they called me again today, wondering if I had already had this service done or if we were still interested. I was honest - big mistake! - I told the salesman that we were waiting until next year (it's a big bill for us)! He wanted to know if he could contact me Jan 1st, I told him nicely that I had all of the information that I needed from his company and that if we were going to use them, we would contact them and let them know (I understand that salesman are required to say certain things to try and close the sale, etc). He persisted and said he would call us back Dec 1st and said "Good-Bye", then hung-up, without giving me the chance to respond! I called their office and had them remove me from their phone call, emailing and mailing lists - I wasn't happy that their salesman was being pushy over an upcoming phone call, so I told the Customer Service Rep about phone call and they made notes - she said she was sorry for the salesman's tone on the phone. Like I said at the beginning, I'm not saying that all of their employees are like this, but because of the circumstances that we experienced and the employees that we came into contact with, we will not be going with their company.

All went well, starting with the initial inspection. The FSM rep spent over an hour inspecting, measuring and photographing our crawl space. We spent another hour going over options. We bought everything but the dehumidifier and electronic monitoring system. We scheduled an April installation which we changed to June because of weather issues. FSM kept us informed of the process. The 3-day effort was done by a crew of 3-4 excellent technicians who worked hard, did a great job and cleaned up everything at the end of each day. All materiel was high quality. We are extremely pleased with the end result. Interesting fact: When the crew installed the moisture barrier they took off their boots before they started laying the barrier. They were absolutely focused on ending up with a sparkling clean crawl space.

I was very well pleased with my total experience with Foundation Systems of Michigan. The inspector who assessed the work required to be completed, the customer experience advocate and the installation crew formed an excellent team in making sure that the job was done in an efficient and professional manner.

Great! The FSM team was great and very professional. This was not their first time in raising a foundation and their experience was displayed in every thing they did.

Everything went well. They showed up on time on the scheduled days and completed my whole basement in a day and a half. Everything looks good and works great. They communicated well, they were polite to my wife, and worked efficiently while keeping the mess to a minimum.

It went fantastically. I would recommend FSM to anyone who needs their crawl space cleaned and insullated. When they did the work two years ago, they did the work quickly and the team members were professional and courteous. The young man who did the inspection this year found a leak in the seam and fixed the problem in record time. He was so nice.

We did not know that they had broken the sewer line in two places during installation until water and raw sewage floated up in the basement. We called them last year when a sink hole opened up near their work which they said wasn't their fault. After we hired a several plumbers and then a locator service to pin-point the problem area, it was right where they had installed the piers.To the company's credit, they sent out a great guy David to excavate and attempt to repair what they thought was one break to discover the second one underneath the sinking slab of the garbage floor. Considering it too dangerous to continue and promising to run a new sewer line, the supervisor Ryan "pulled the plug on the Job" and instructed the service tech to close up the excavation and clear out the equipment. Needless to say, after a few hours, water is back in the basement and no response from the company. Very upset given the years of accumulated waste in the backyard, lost personal belongings, and no resolution.

We were not happy with the first installation and they went above and beyond to correct it. We were very impressed with the crew (the guys who actually do the work) who showed up on time, were polite and very hard working. We now have a beautiful, clean space perfect for storing seasonal decor.

We did not know that they had pierced the sewer line when drilling the piers and caused sewage to flush under the garage. The garage slab has cracked and sloping towards a sinkhole created by sewage and storm water washing away the soil. Water backup into the house has created a dangerous situation, and, despite having multiple plumbers to verify where the problem was using a locator service as well and FSM sending techs out, they responded that they had no responsibility for the damage or offer to repair it. They gladly took our money and now we will be out thousands more to fix it. Very upset at the result and would not recommend given the experience.
