We have been owned and operated business, by the same family, since 1963. We have 6 service technicians (no subcontractors), 3 in shop technician, 4 call takers, and 1 delivery/install team (no subcontractors). We service most makes and models, as well as providing warranty service for Whirlpool, Maytag, Amana, Kitchen Aid, LG, Viking, Magic Chef, Estate, Roper, and Jenn Air. Our services are job rated so whether the technician is slow or fast you will not be charged more when a job takes longer for some. We offer coupons, for service, parts, and water filters, on our website.

II have used Bill and Rod's a couple of times and have been impressed with their knowledge and the fact they work on multiple brands. The technicians have all been very sharp and there is no extra selling - they come in and get right to work
Description of Work: They repaired our leaking dishwasher - I had misdiagnosed the problem but they figured it out and made the repair and everything works as it should. I thought it was the door gasket but they knew it was actually a faulty latch

Excellent!. Bernadette was our salesperson. She was very knowledgeable of the washers & dryers that they sell Helped my job of choosing the best models for our family. I was greeted promptly when I entered the store. I explained the reason for my shopping trip and was shown the complete line of Bill and Rods dishwashers. I also explained that I wanted it delivered, installed and the old unit hauled away. The employee explained the procedure to me, we completed the deal and I expect delivery tomorrow, Wed. 2/20/2013.

On Jan. 7, I called Bill and Rod for service and described the problem. I gave them the model number, serial number, make of stove, and diagnotic code from the oven. They said a service man would be there the next morning. He came, simply verified the information I had given over the phone, and charged me $79. He said the controller was boke and a new one would be about $360, with labor of about $80. He said he could fix it by Jan 12. I agreed to the fix by jan. 12.. I called Jan. 11. They said they had the part but couldn't fix the stove untill Jan 15. I bought a similar new stove the next day for about $480. Then I canceled the service appointment. I believe it is excessive to charge $79 to visit when they could have diagnosed it over the phone with the information I gave them. I believe it is irresponsible to say they will fix it by Jan 12, and then postpone to Jan 15, or maybe later.

I have a Whirlpool gas dryer that quit heating. I called Bill & Rod's Appliance, described the problem, and was quoted $79.95 for a diagnostic service visit. I agreed and made an appointment for Tuesday January 15th. I received a phone call late Tuesday morning with a time frame that the service technician would arrive. The service technician arrived and spent approximately 15 minutes diagnosing the problem. He told me that the Flame Sensor was broken and gave me an estimate of $70 labor and $40 parts to replace the part. I agreed, he performed the work, and we verified that the problem was resolved. The reason I'm giving Bill & Rod's Appliance a "B" rating is because of their prices. It took the service technician less than 15 minutes to replace the part. I feel that a $70 labor charge for 15 minutes of work is excessive. I also feel that the price for the Flame Sensor was too high. They charged $40 for a part that is commonly sold for less than $20. That said, the service technician was very nice and if money was not an object I would do business with them again. Unfortunately I didn't win the lottery and price does matter.

We were having problems with our dishwasher. They gave us an estimate, but ended up costing half of what the estimate was. They said they prefer to be conservative, and that helped to make it a very positive experience. Friendly and helpful.

The guy showed up on time, and made pretty short work of the problem. He was a personable guy, and we got along well. I will call this company the next time I have an appliance that needs repair.

They will be my appliance repair service of choice.
Description of Work: My new dishwasher, just out of warranty started leaking. They showed up and quickly identified a seal that hadn't be properly seated. They didn't try to expand service or start taking it apart to expand cost. The problem was quickly fixed and it has not happened since, although I now know what to look for. Price was the basic service call, which was very reasonably.

I called up Bill & Rod's Appliance Inc. and reached a secretary. She asked if they could call me right back to which I said yes. They called back in around a minute. I explained that I had just bought a house and the refrigerator was starting to perform poorly. I asked if I could simply speak with a technician to ask them a few questions. I was promptly transferred and asked the very polite and professional technician what could be wrong based on the symptoms I had and the part checking/troubleshooting I had already done. He confirmed my assumption that it was likely the compressor or sealed system and because it was already 11 years old, I might as well buy a new one. He also told me the approximately price range required to troubleshoot and fix such a problem which further persuaded me to go shopping. They were a great help and very friendly and professional. I would absolutely recommend them to any friend or family member in need of their services.
Description of Work: I called this company up to get some professional technical advice on the operation, or lack-thereof, of my refrigerator.

Water leak from the washer that covered the floor and ran into the basement. Called Bill & Rod's and they were out the next day. Ron determined that the seals on the bottom of the the tub was leaking. He gave me an estimate but recommended replacing the washer due to the cost of a total rebuild.
Description of Work: Disassembled the front of the washer and found seals were shot. Due to the amount it would take to rebuild the recommendation was to replace the washer.

The dishwasher now works better than it has for months. The service was very quick, professional and respectful of my time and property. They responded to my call for service with a next day appointment, and they were in and out of my house before 8:30 am. The serviceman was professional and nice, and both people I spoke to on the phone were friendly and helpful. I will call them for service again, and will be shopping for a new washer and dryer with them soon.
Description of Work: My dishwasher wasn't getting my dishes clean, and I thought it might be a simple problem, but more than I could handle. It did turn out to just be a piece of debris lodged against the water pump, which took the serviceman about 15 minutes to fix. He quickly diagnosed the problem, took apart the spray arm and pump, found the metal tag from a pan handle blocking the water,and cleaned out the rest of the pump and drain.

So far we have had good service from them. They sell and repair. We used their services years ago. We haven’t had any problems lately. Our experience so far with them is good. Their prices vary. Their quality of work was good. They were punctual. Their professionalism was all right. We will possibly use them in the future.

They did an excellent job. I looked Bill and Rod's Appliance Repair on Angie's List. The serviceman was a nice guy. It was a reasonable price. I thought I had to get a new washing machine.

They came out and let me know the starter had burned up internally and that was causing the smell. The heat caused it to weld to one of the metal contacts onto one of the pegs. The tech wasn't able to get the internal part of the starter off to replace it and during the attempt to get it off he pulled one of the pins out of the compressor and all the freon leaked out. He then told me I would have to get a new compressor, which would cost me around $500. He said this is a known problem, but they don't have any solution. I feel like this is completely unprofessional and now I have to either buy a new compressor for a 10 year old refrigerator or buy a new one.

Arranged my schedule to be here during the four hour time window they provided. 30 minutes AFTER that 4 hour window, he called to say that he was on his way. It would have been nice to know this sooner. Upon arriving, he was very friendly and professional. He diagnosed the problem in a just a few seconds and fixed it quickly and effectively. Based on his skill and overall friendly demeanor, I would certainly call them again. He is a very heavy smoker. He had a very strong smell of cigarette smoke. Maybe the overall grade could be a B because of the tardiness and the smoke. But, because of the friendly, fast and effective work at a reasonable price. let's leave it at an A.

He fixed the problem, with an apprentice watching. No problem with quality of work.
Description of Work: Our dishwasher would not run unless door was pushed in. Seemed liked a bad door switch, and it was. Serviceman was friendly, but proceeded to work the second he arrived without explaining what his costs would be (which I think should be standard procedure). He said he would give me the switch for free (thanks, but I think it is available for $5 online). I was charged $124.00 -- about half was for service call, and roughly the other half was labor. I think that was a tad high for a 10 minute repair......but everything costs more these days.

The total cost of repair is not out of line with what would be pretty standard with the industry. The technician should have introduced himself, that is true, and also should have given more information as to why that problem existed. Part of the cost involved with a technician coming to the house is for their experience and expertise in appliance repair. He has been trained on how to diagnose and repair, ans also has a truck with the appropriate parts stocked on it. The store is also always there to answer questions and help in any way that they can. If there is ever a question on a repair, whether a customer can do it themselves or if a technician is necessary, they can answer those questions as well.
