Cliff was prompt, polite, friendly, and very informative. He identified the reason our refrigerator was malfunctioning, ordered the new part, and returned to install it in a timely manner. Description of Work: On January 21, 2015, Cliff, the technician, found a bad evaporator fan in our refrigerator was making noise and not doing its job. It was running, but not cooling. He replaced it with a new unit on January 26.

We called Bill and Rod's. The woman handling their phone was very professional. I was disappointed that they could not get to us until the following week. However, when their service man got there, he handled the problem quickly - some internal part needed cleaning, a problem for this model. The service man called me at work and told me the problem. I approved the fix and he took my credit card over the phone. The cost of the fix was the price of a service call. They were great.

When I called, they said they could make an appointment next day, and would call in the morning with a time. They did call, though it was a few minutes after they said. (8:40 or so expecting between 8 and 8:30). They said Ron would be over between 10 and 12. He was there just before 11 as promised. He took 30 minutes to pull the dryer apart and diagnose the problem, and after that he gave me an estimate of the cost. The price came in inline with the estimate. Unfortunately the top cabinets have been discontinued and were only available for a while. The control circuitry had failed and wouldn't turn on the heater in that unit, and they couldn't fix that. The bottom, which is a normal electric tumble dryer, had a broken belt. Accessing the belt required pulling stuff out to get to the back of the unit. The bottom unit is fixed and works great. The top will blow unheated air over the clothes, but they couldn't really fix it due to no parts existing. Ron explained it all as he was going along. I thought $150 for a working dryer wasn't bad even if it was a belt because it was inaccessible and included diagnosis of the unfixable top cabinet . They honored the online coupon from their website ($10 off). The visit charge was rolled into that cost. So, all a good experience, only gave out one "B" because I purchased the unit there and its unfixable. Ran well for 9 years though.
Description of Work: I had purchased a Maytag Neptune drying center from the store. (At least then they also sold appliances). After about 9 years, the top cabinet for hanging clothes stopped working well. A couple of weeks ago the dryer stopped working. I called them for repairs.

I hate electric so since I just bought my house I decided to get rid of the electric and replace it with a gas one. They were on time and proffesional. They took the old one out to the curb for me, and brought in the new one from the garage. He was there for about 2 hours but when he left you never would of known. Very clean and efficient. Would definitely use again

We called them to repair our washing machine. It took the guy four visits over two weeks (and 3 trips to the laundromat) to let us know that it would be just as expensive to repair it as it would be to buy a new machine. Upon expressing our frustration, the company did refund our service call fee. Because the company attempted to make things right, because they have a price match policy, and because we prefer to keep our money in the local economy by avoiding big chain stores, we decided to purchase a new washer through this store. The sales clerk was friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, the company delivered the entirely wrong washing machine! Again, we called to express our displeasure. The company offered to replace the machine with the right one or give us a $100 refund. I appreciated their willingness to make things right, which is why they didn't get a lower rating.

We've used Bill and Rod's for many appliance repairs and have been extremely happy with them. They are responsive, honest and knowledgable. The crew that were here today to remove the stove and fridge were great. They were on time and it was a challenging assignment yet they were able to accomplish it quickly and safely.Without sounding "gushing," I'd like to say that if you need someone to fix an appliance or need to buy one, this is the place to go.

Repairman came the next day after my call. He found the problem quickly, had the replacement part in his truck and made the repair. I don't think the whole process took more than half an hour. I have used Bill and Rod's for over 30 years and have always been happy with their service.

I used Angie's List to find a reputable appliance repair shop; we chose Bill and Rods. They came out on a holiday even though they were working only a half a day; the technician completely checked out the oven and found nothing wrong. He even called back to the office to make sure was there was nothing else to do. The technician did charge me for the call but said if, within 30 days, we did have a component failure that the service call that I paid would cover the next service call...I would have to pay for just the part.
Description of Work: We had an issue with our carbon dioxide alarms going off; the fire department identified the stove as being at issue.

This was one of the worst customer service experiences I have ever had to deal with. First off, when I called to inquire about hiring this company to repair my washing machine I felt the person I spoke to was a bit abrupt. I brushed it off, thinking that person must be having a bad day. After verifying my address with their service area, I was told it would take 2 days for someone to come out. I asked if there was anything else, since other companies do same day. Even if it was later in the evening, I needed it ASAP. After being told that was it, end of story we discussed price, the service fee to come out was $79. (In my opinion really high price) then I found out that none of the $79 goes towards repairs or services. This should've been the end, I should've known better at this point. But, I made an appointment for 2 days later and asked what time?.I got a very rude, they will call you with a window the morning of or MAYBE the night before. (If your lucky sort of thing) Again, HORRIBLE customer service! I tried to explain that I have to pick my kids up from school at 3-4pm. I could set aside the entire day other than 3-4pm. WHICH I BELIVE IS VERY INCONSIDERATE OF THEM TO ASK PEOPLE TO SET ASIDE AN ENTIRE DAY BECAUSE THEY WON'T SCHEDULE IT EARLIER THAN THE DAY OF!!! Again, I should've sent them packing at this point?.HORRIBLE company to deal with & this is just the first contact I've had with them. Well, now war are on the day of service, NO call the night before, and they said the service person would come between 3-6pm. WHAT???? that's sounded crazy to me, especially since I said I had a problem with school pick up. The same or different VERY RUDE person said they will come between 4-6pm. I'm pretty upset at this point, but I've come this far?.let's just get this done is what I'm thinking. Well, 30 mins later I get the most offensive and even more rude/abrupt call from the woman stating we are out of the service area and they can't help me. Needless, to say I was fuming at this point. SAVE YOURSELF HEADACHE, HASSLE, AND MONEY-USE ANOTHER COMPANY.STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS ONE!

Contacted Bill and Rod's on Monday 2/24/14 since my dryer would not start. Mick came out on Wednesday 2/26/14 and quickly determined that the motor had died. I thought that may have been the problem since it was over 15 years old. He checked the price of a new motor and installation and we decided to just get a new dryer. He recommended a new Amana that was similar to the one I already had plus it was on sale. They were able to set up delivery for the next day early enough so that I could make another appointment that I already had scheduled. It works just like it should. Plus, before it was delivered I checked the price of the dryer on-line at Best Buy, Home Depot and ABC Warehouse. Bill and Rod's beat their price! I am very pleased!

On Tuesday I made an appointment for Friday (the first available time). The service tech arrived one hour early. He inspected the latch and found cracks and worn out areas. The service call cost $69.00. He ordered a new latch. He returned on 1/31/14 and installed the new latch. Parts and labor was $97.70. Problem solved.

They are well organized and responsive when queried. Good staff in the warehouse and they came to house with replacement model when they said they would. No surprises. The technician quickly found the broken thermal fuse. He had the correct replacement part with him. The dryer was fixed in fifteen minutes. My brother used them in early September for the same problem. The cause was different. His dryer was also fixed quickly. We are both very satisfied with Bill & Rod's.

I purchased the oven through a distributor, so only needed installation. Had never used Bill & Rod's before, but went by Angie's ratings. I was able to schedule the install with only 2 days of lead time, for the same day as the unit was delivered, and right before Labor Day weekend. Very accommodating, from the phone contact right through installation. Installers (AJ and one other) did a good job and hauled away the old unit.

I attempted to diagnose the problem myself over several months with no luck. When the serviceman from Bill and Rod's arrived, I told him what I attempted, he checked out the dryer and replaced a part that I was told previously by another company was O.K. Since then, the dryer has worked fine. To be honest, I have not used a repair service in many years so that is the only reason I marked the price as good and not excellent. Also, the representative that set up the appointment over the phone stated that if their visit did not correct the issue they would credit part of the repair bill towards the price of a new dryer at their store.

The freezer defrosted on Monday. We called to schedule a service call, but cancelled it when the freezer started working again on Tuesday. Of course it defrosted again on Tuesday night. Fortunately we had not put any food back in. We called for service again, and they advised that it was probably the compressor and that it wouldn't be cost effective to replace. Of course since it was working I thought that it must be something that could be fixed. The service tech arrived right on schedule and checked all of the components that could be bad and explained that the problem was the compressor and showed us why it workes part of the time and then quits. He didn't pressure us to do the repair and only charged us for the inspection. Even though we had to buy a new refrigerator it was a positive experience.

He was very nice he was able to repair my conductor part. When I called they told me they would be out in a few days but to my surprise he was able to come out the same day while he was in my area. And he fixed it the same day. I had them to install my washer and dryer in 2008 that my son and his wife gave me for a gift. So I have been using them for several years now and I am very satisfied with the service they give me. I will use them again in the future.
