Description of Work: The company did an excellent job. The only thing I was not satisfied with was the Green Sky Company that changed the interest rate that I signed. I was not to pay interest for two years but GS they changed it to 7.99 percent monthly and principle and interest payment starting January 14, 2016. Until paid in full. I am going to speak to AG Bill Schuette and get this problem solved because I made downpayment of $2,000.00. It is not the companies fault.

Description of Work: Nice roof. Took longer to install than originally planned (not due to weather), but it was installed while we were at work and they were gone by the time we got home so not disturbing at all. Price seems a little high, but so is my roof.

Bruce from Seamless came to the house to do an estimate on gutters for half of my house. He was there for FOUR HOURS. I got to hear his entire life story, as well as get a pitch for new shingles which I did not need. We live in a nice house in a nice neighborhood. He offered not only to install the gutters, but repair the woodpecker holes that were in 2 or 3 areas where the new gutters were going to be, as well as paint the fascia and soffits to match the color gutter I selected. His estimate was over $5K. I've never purchased gutters, but his estimate seemed high. I called my builder, and he said that the estimate was about THREE TIMES what it should be. I got 2 more estimates, and they were between $1800- $2300, without the repairs that Bruce included in his and quot;package deal.and quot; Long story short, I hired a painter to paint and repair the entire house soffit and fascia; with the lower bid gutters, it still came $500 less than the bid that that from Seamless. My perception is that Bruce saw our house and thought he could squeeze some extra profit out of an unsuspecting dumb blonde in a fancy house. If you get an estimate from seamless, make sure to check out the other companies in the area like Sunrise Seamless and Guilford's to make sure you're getting a fair price.
Description of Work: We got estimates for installation of gutters on the back side of our house. This company was recommended to me by the guy who built our house 14 years ago. I checked Angies list and saw that they had good reviews.

Response from Streamline Enterprises Inc
Member, We would like to thank you for this review. We are always looking for ways to improve our company. We typically figure about an hour for a standard gutter estimate but when we are talking about multiple projects it will take longer. We do train and require our salespeople to do thorough visual inspections of the home and recommend the appropriate products even if someone is only looking for a gutter estimate. We have been in business over 14 years and have found out from experience that most customers like to use one contractor for multiple projects. We have reviewed the estimate process and estimate pricing on this project and need to clarify several points. This estimate actually took 2-1/2 hours because there ended up being several areas of concern including soil erosion, fascia repairs, gutters and a meeting with a landscaping contractor that was scheduled at the same time as our appointment. Bruce provided a price estimate, based on our recommendations for the soffit and fascia repairs, painting and the gutter system. Bruce followed up on the proposal and was informed that you felt the price was too high so another appointment was scheduled to break down the pricing and come up with some other price options. The next appointment was cancelled by you and then rescheduled. When Bruce arrived for the third scheduled appointment he was informed by you that you were not prepared for a meeting and your husband had to leave. Bruce attempted several times to reschedule the meeting to provide the price options you requested to no avail. We are confident that Bruce was not trying to take advantage of you in any way but only point out some possible work that we would recommend. Based on the information you provided it sounds like you went ahead and had all the work completed that Bruce recommended regarding your gutters, fascia repairs, soffit and fascia painting. Our lowest price option on the gutter work was $1735. Based on the price quotes you provided, if you take the lower price on the gutter estimates and the painting estimate our price would be exactly the same not three times higher as mentioned. Again, we want to thank you for taking the time for the review and would have enjoyed the opportunity to actually provide the estimate price options and worked together. Sincerely, Streamline Enterprises

This was the best contractor service I've ever used. The various framers, installers, drywallers, siders, etc, were literally calling to schedule their time to come in and do their part as the previous installers were turning out of the driveway. Everyone was on time to the minute on when they said they'd be here. The window installs were done very well and the siding matched perfectly even though the stuff on the house has been on for 15+ years getting sun fade, you can hardly tell the siding color they picked is different. The interior drywall was near flawless. I don't know that much about windows but the windows they sold me (and quot;Alside Excaliburand quot;) -- they are indeed cooler to the touch in the summer and warmer in the winter than my old junky windows were, they don't seem to let as much energy escape, my A/C runs a lot less in the summer, and they come apart for cleaning super easily. It's nearly 2 years later I'm writing this review and they also all open and close the same as the day they were installed, including two we use every day it's warm. The only quibble was during the quote/estimate session, as I said I wanted to deliberate and I'd get back to him, the sales guy took a somewhat high-pressure and quot;this price is only good while I'm hereand quot; approach. Fortunately, I had other quotes in hand already, and was prepared/equipped to make my decision while he was here -- and -- I don't regret hiring them. But I /hate/ that bully sales approach and almost turned them away just for taking that angle. I would suggest anyone hiring them either tell them up front before they even come over that this approach is unacceptable [if it leaves a bad taste in your mouth like it does mine,] or at least have your other quotes first in your hand so you can expect it and make your decision on the spot. It is for this reason I dinged 'professionalism' from A to B. (Other then that, the guy was professional, though, polite, dressed well, knew his stuff, etc.)
Description of Work: Entire house window replacement, including two that required significant modifications. One was a curved bay window that they converted into three more standard rectangular windows, the second was a giant "wall of glass" 9 pane window on the front of the house that they built up the bottom (the old window nearly reached the floor) to a standard height ... including finishing it to 'ready to paint' status on the inside and matching up siding on the outside.

I had Streamline replace all of the windows in the lower level of my house. They measured one day and replaced the windows roughly two weeks later (all windows were custom made). The installation was performed in about 5 hours. All windows looked great with no debris left behind. While I was impressed with the installation, I was more impressed with the service a year later. One of the newly installed windows had accidently been broken by my current tenants. I called Streamline, gave them the measurements listed on the window, and two weeks later I had a new replacement window. The window was under warranty and I wasn't charged for it! The salesman initially told me, and quot;If a baseball blasts through the window we'll fix it under warranty.and quot; I didn't believe the sales pitch at the time, but I do now! I'm not sure how the total cost compares with other vendors as I only received the one quote, but I have no regrets going the path I did and wouldn't hesitate to do it again.

Terrible experience. I wasn't going to post anything about this company. But when I signed in to Angies List I saw that people were looking for reviews on this company, so here goes. I had lost a shingle on my 20+ year old roof and a representative from Streamline knocked on my door asking if I wanted an estimate. I had been planning to replace my roof over the summer, so I welcomed the estimate. On 7/13/10 Rob arrived at my door with a very impressive presentation about the company. He was very personable and friendly and after determining I only had one layer of shingles on my roof, recommended simply installing new shingles over my old roof. They offered a one year guarantee on the work and then the manufacturer's warranty would kick in. He told me that they operated like a well-oiled machine--they had a team of four guys who would come out and could have the entire roof and gutters done in one day--probably less than a day. He proceeded to write up an estimate with a "discount" of some sort that was only applicable if I signed a contract right then. Red flag #1. I told him I wanted to discuss it with my boyfriend first and his response was that the representative who showed up at my door should have told me that I needed to have all the decision makers at the table when he came to do the estimate. After trying to reach my boyfriend to no avail while Rob was sitting at my kitchen table waiting for a decision, I gave into the pressure and signed the contract. He required a deposit equal to half of the total cost. I was told I would be contacted to schedule a date. The next day I was contacted and was told they would be out to do the work on Friday. Just three days later. I thought it was odd that they could get me in so quickly. I had plans to go up north for the weekend on Friday afternoon, but since the work was supposed to be done so quickly, I didn't think it would interfere. It dawned on me after the work was done that there was a cancellation provision in the conract that allowed me to cancel the contract within three business days... The materials arrived Friday morning around 8:30 from Home Depot, before the workers did. The "well-oiled machine" arrived shortly thereafter--one guy who looked like he might not even be old enough to drive, and one other guy. That was it. Red flag #2. They proceeded to work on the roof all day while I worked from my home. Around 3pm I was ready to leave for the weekend, they were not. I asked them how much longer and they said probably a couple hours. Looking at the state of my roof, I was doubtful but I waited. At 5pm they still weren't done and I was going to be late for a family dinner up north. So, I told them I had to go and I would pay the balance due on Monday. They had to check with the boss to see if that was ok. It wasn't. Red flag #3. So, I reluctantly wrote a check for the balance even though the work was not done and left. I returned on Sunday to find the gutters were not done, a ladder in my yard, debris everywhere, and my satellite dish hanging off the side of my roof by its cord. My neighbors even came over and commented on the dish. There had been a storm that weekend and they were afraid the cord was going to break and it would come crashing down. I immediately called Rob (who had left me his business card) to advise what I found and got voice mail. Rob returned my call within the hour, apologized and said he would have someone out to get the ladder, clean up, and attach the dish that night. He would have to check to see about the gutters. To add insult to injury, while I sat on my front porch for the next hour NOT watching TV waiting for someone to show up, my cat appeared with a nail stuck in her collar. I called Rob again, at this point fuming, advised him that no one had shown up yet and, in addition to the cat, pointed out to him that the amount of time to do the work and the number of people that showed up were not what he promised and I can't trust a word he says. I told him I was about to put a stop pay on the check I had written on Friday. He again apologized, and asked if I would wait before putting the stop pay on the check. The check wouldn't even be deposited until Friday (the 23rd) and they will get this all straightened out before then. He then provided an excuse for two of the four workers not showing up and said he could have rescheduled but he wanted to have my roof done for me on Friday so I could "enjoy it over the weekend." Enjoy it over the weekend? I'm sorry, do people actually "enjoy" their roofs? Did he expect that I would sit outside and admire my beautiful roof all weekend? Or climb up and sit on it over the weekend? I had expressed no sense of urgency to him to get the roof done by Friday. But, if the work was done by Friday, I certainly couldn't cancel the contract. Someone finally showed up to re-attach my dish and pick up the ladder around 9:20 Sunday night (I had already picked up the yard). I received a call from Harty, the owner, around 10pm. In the mean time I had actually climbed out on the roof from a window and looked at the area around my chimney and where the dish was re-attached (I didn't venture any further out onto the roof). I found one of the screws for the dish was missing and there were exposed screws/nails around the chimney. I am no roofer, but that didn't look right to me. I sent pictures to Rob. Harty indicated that Rob had filled him in and said they had never intended to install the gutter covers on Friday. That was scheduled for Tuesday (wonder if anyone was going to tell me that?). So, why was it that I was told I had to pay the balance on Friday? He said he would be out to walk the roof and make sure everything was ok after the gutter covers were installed on Tuesday. The gutter crew was in and out in no time on Tuesday the 20th. Harty called about an hour after they left and said he would be there around 1pm to check everything out. He showed up around 4:30. He said they had put (something) over the exposed screws/nails and the rest of the roof looked fine. He apologized for everything and gave me a gift card to a restaurant to make up for it. I don't generally go out to dinner and haven't used it yet. A couple days later I was online banking and saw that the check that "wouldn't even be deposited until Friday" cleared my bank on Wednesday the 21st. I believe it was that Friday (the 23rd) that I realized I had no receipt for the second half of my payment, nor did I have anything in writing pertaining to their one year guarantee. I called and requested the receipt and the guarantee information. I got the receipt the following week. Still no documentation pertaining to their guarantee. I can't comment on the price as I succumbed to the high pressure sales strategy before getting any other estimates. I also can't comment on the quality at this point, I will have to wait to see if I encounter any issues. So far, no obvious issues except for what I found when I crawled out on the roof. But, the whole experience calls the quality into question in my mind.

The roof was $7,000. The owner that came to the house was good at sales. There wasn't a connection between what he told us and what actually happened when they came to do the work. There was a lack of communication about the job that was supposed to be done and the specifics to the job. We pretty much had to be here the whole time for both the siding and the roofing to instruct them and make sure that things were done the way they were supposed to be done. The contract wasn't specific enough about the work that was to be done. We were not dissatisfied with the work and they did a decent job in that regard. They were in and out quickly considering they were doing it in the wintertime. They left a lot of nails on the ground but there was snow on the ground so it was a little hard to get everything. We wouldn't hold that against them. Once the snow had melted their siding people came in and they tried to rake up the nails that they could see because they created a lot of nails also. There are still a lot of nails and they didn't use a magnetic machine to pick them up. The price was comparable with the other two companies that came in to give us an estimate on the roofing. There was a lack of communication between the salesman and the people that were actually doing the work for the roofing and the siding. There were two different people that lead the siding and roofing work. There was some conflict on what the salesperson told us and what was actually being done so we had to be very involved. We had insulation put up and they are supposed to put up sheathing tape. They used duct tape. It was a cost savings for them but it wasn't proper. We trusted that they were doing the job properly and they didn't. I brought it to their attention but by then the job was almost done. I wasn't too happy about that. There were some challenges we ran into and they took care of those. I would warn anyone to make sure that everything is in writing and that they use the correct materials. The soffits needed to be cut out and we had to also get that corrected.

The experience was good for most of the project. However, the air-crete product did come through the wall in the library and deposited a couple gallons of the product on the carpeting, nearby end tables and sofa. The installers made no effort or offer to clean up the mess and left it up to me. oops, our bad. I found out that one of the crew was supposed to be inside monitoring to be sure that this didn't happen. Even after this spill, no one monitored inside other than me. They did complete the job at the stated price and I believe it to be well done. Maybe having the product come inside could not have been helped, but if they had followed their own procedures there wouldn't have been such a mess. The company did respond to any and all phone calls. So if you decide to use them, by all means ask about the process and what happens if there is a mess. We wanted the air-crete product as it is supposed to be the latest and greatest in the green product area for insulation. Now that it is finished, and the mess cleaned up, we are happy with the job. The house is quieter and seems to be easier to heat and cool. I think it is working. The company would have gotten an A if there hadn't been the mess that I had to clean up.
Description of Work: Whole-house insulation. Walls, crawlspace, ceilings and attics with primarily air-crete, supplemented by cellose and foam insulation. The brick walls were drilled for air-crete installation, vinyl siding removed in some areas and a vent installed in one of the attic areas over the breakfast room. A big project. Frankly, I think the company underestimated the amount of time it would take, but there was never any suggestion of price adjustment.

(03/19/2010) Very professional in answering all our concerns on a new roof. A little slow in responsiveness to email request for referrals from other jobs but very comfortable and not high pressure to sell anything but their company capabilities and the products they feel are the best. Would definitely use this company again, the owner Harty is very nice and comfortable to work with. Will report later date after install of new metal rood covering approximately 36 squares of roof on eventual work. Estimate: $15000.00 UPDATE (05/21/2010) Rocky start but overall would recommend and use this company again. Make positive sure on quotes given are correct even if your a new comer to roofing estimates get a few and compare.
Description of Work: (03/19/2010) Quote for roof replacement. UPDATE (05/21/2010) Rough start with incorrect price given for new metal roof - quoted lower than should have - a little rough but they did honor the contracted price after some talking due to the fact that they cashed the deposit check and then advised they could not do the roof for what they quoted. Company honored their price and we met them part way although we did not have to. All in all the installers were very professional and attention to detail was fantastic. Professional company and very pleased with them - been a rainy spring to get a roof completed but they have worked every sunny day possible

It was more than $300 less than the other quote. They did the job within a week. They came in the morning and finished before I came home at lunch. There was almost no trace that they had been there. (I had left the garage open for them) The work included installing several rulers thoughout the attic to measure the depth. In many areas there was more insulation than had been contracted for. The billing was exactly what was quoted.
Description of Work: Cellulose insulation of ceiling in 1700 sf three bedroom ranch house built in 1971. 12 inches of insulation added on top of existing insulation that had settled.

While his people were quite skilled, the omission of the eavestrough from the bid did mislead me to think his bid was the lowest. The amendment and additional charge, however, still kept it the lowest after a post-check of costs with other firms. The arrival of the repairpersons was a little later, perhaps a half hour. Attitutdes of the workmen were courteous and helpful. If anything, I wished I had asked them for more downspout extenders made from the old dowspouts. I would recommend them to others.
Description of Work: Agent Randy Adams helped appraise my downspouts and identified one needing replacement that had escaped my notice and persuaded me that another could help in draining water from the roof. In this process, he appraised an eavestrough as not needing replacement that the others had agreed to do. At the time of the job, he amended it for a reasonable amount to replace the eavestrough. His people will highly skilled sheet metal cutters and provided me downspout extenders made from replaced downspouts.

I had gotten an estimate in 2007 but was unable to complete the project due to family health issues. When I called to see if I needed another estimate, Hardy said no, but did I want it done the same way and I said no, wanted to add one more downspout. He honored the estimate from 2007 and then tweaked it for the additional downspout. Since they did not have to come out I scheduled it and they came out within a week as I recall to do the work. They were on time, completed the work and then cleaned up the mess. Very pleased with the work.
Description of Work: All existing eaves and downspouts replaced and one new one added.
