Description of Work: I had a blockage in the drainpipe and water in the basement. They replaced the stand pipe in the basement,cleared the blockage and ran a camera down the pipe. Based upon the findings, I had Michigan Plumbing return later in the week and replace the outside pipe leading to the sewer. There were some unexpected complications - the level of the pipe dropped several feet as it neared the road and water suddenly flooded the trench - but Ned knew who to call in and everything turned out well!

Description of Work: I've used this service provider in the past. Although the fees are high they have arrived timely and completed the work timely until this past repair. Communication at the beginning was poor. Despite giving them the address of the rental unit where work was required they showed up at my home. Repairs were attempted but it was determined a new boiler plate was required for the hot water heater. He took a picture of the make/model plate and indicated he would get with supplier in the morning and call me. I called tech in early afternoon since I had heard nothing. He indicated he had not yet called but would. I received a call and was advised parts would take two weeks. As I had renters in the home this would be unacceptable. I advise to replace the unit. They came out the following day with a replacement hot water heater however brought a different unit that would not fit in the crawl space for installation. I asked why the did not bring a similar unit which was already installed. First I was informed they didn't know the make and model. When I advised the original tech had that information I was them told that their supplier was unexpectedly closed. After 7 days the unit was finally installed. Not only did the repairs cost I also felt compelled to provide the renters a discounted month of rental for their inconvenience. Despite good service in the past I will check out other service providers next time I need plumbing services.

Description of Work: Came out and diagnosed leak as a problem with the kitchen faucet. Took the time to show me the part that was broken. Had one kitchen faucet available for replacement. I have to admit we weren't in a position to shop around on the cost of the faucet or the cost of labor. It just seemed awfully expensive. On the other hand, the faucet has functioned very well with no leaks so perhaps I shouldn't be complaining.

Description of Work: Dave came to fix a under sink leak...he was wonderful. In and out in minutes. Fine young man, even wore covers on his shoes. We will be calling this company again!

Description of Work: Adam came and fixed what turned out to be a minor and easily fixable leak in our kitchen faucett. He charged us nothing for a service that he performed with speed and a courtesy and respectfulness that I rarely see. Michigan Plumbing will now be our plumbing service of choice.

Description of Work: Had persistent problems with a plugged sewer line. Michigan Plumbing acted swiftly and professionally. One call was also a no charge visit because it was within 30 days of a prior visit. I had no problems with the quality of work, I just caution people to do more homework on finding out what the "going rate" for similar services are between many sources. I know I overpaid and take full responsibility of this issue. I was shocked to find out I paid 2-3 times what any other contractor quoted.

Description of Work: We were exceeding pleased with the thoroughness of their assessment and the accuracy of the estimate. We had 2 other estimates from drain clog businesses, but suspected their estimates could be inaccurate because they did not do a thorough assesment, and consequently their lower bids could have resulted in higher costs when they actually started work. That turned out to be the case because the rep from Mighigan Plumbing/Rooter Express was much more detailed about the possible problems and their costs, and his projected scenarios were unfortuantely correct. They came and examinined the leak the same afternoon I called. The one sent to do the assessment has a sub-specialty in exterior work and arranged to do the work 2 days later even though he was on vacation. He did top notch work in 4-5 hours, including the backfill. He saved us tens of thousands of dollars by avoiding continuing the pipe replacement through a 45 degree drop-off and across Lake Lansing Road. He provided information on how to prevent that potential backup in the future (which would also have involved a tree removal). His work is guaranteed for a lifetime, irrespective of who owns the house and they provide free re-levelling of the backfill next spring if needed after the winter freeze/thaw and settling. The house had been unoccupied for >10 years and had many major repairs due. All the new interior plumbing would have been useless without this work. Without the prompt attention to the problem, the family of a mother and her 4 children couldn't even use the bathroom. The repair also included removing some sidewalk and his company was aware of that and made arrangements for that replacement as well, which I don't think the handyman who did the inside work would have been able to do. He pulled all the appropriate permits and arranged for the city inspections. We would be happy to recommend his company to anyone else needing repair of the drain tile field. This work was done for our great-niece, at 615 W. Lake Lansing Road.
