Don gave good information on both items. He was professional. They sell Carrier. He gave financing options & Three options for different furnaces and one air conditioner. I think he gave good information and answered all the questions we asked, but for us it came down to price,since there was not much difference in the furnace & air condition units. We got three estimates from different companies.

I called A-1 for a quote based upon the reviews I found on this website and personal recommendations. Sales rep Bob Epps came out on a Friday and we discussed replacing my furnace and air conditioner. At the conclusion of the sales call, he said he would email the quote on the following Monday as it was getting late in the day. The entire next week went by with no quote received. I called and talked to Bob assuming that something had happened. He apologized and said that he couldn't get the quote to email for some reason. This frustrated me because he was clearly aware of the issue as he advised he had received the same feedback from another customer. I told him that I was eager to make a decision and I needed the quote ASAP if he wanted a shot at getting the work. I even suggested that he drop the quote off next time he was out of the office. I never received the quote and never called back. No way am I going to give several thousand dollars to a company that can't even make it past the sales stage. Based upon the ratings, I suspect this may be a fluke with this company or maybe just and issue with the sales rep. Regardless, it left a bad taste in my mouth and I likely won't be using them in the future.

It was $90 for the fireplace and $129 for the furnace and air conditioning. We never had a problem using them. They came in, did the job and didn’t try to sell us anything. They came in and did what they needed to do. They were in and out when they come in. They would put covers on their shoes and put covers down before they would do anything. They would always go around and explain to me what they were doing. They were always on time. With regard to price, I don’t really know as we never used anybody else in those twenty years. I don’t know if their price is comparable with anybody else or not. I guess it was a good price; we continued to pay it. We have referred people to them.

The guy who came from A-1 Mechanical was very professional, very nice. He talked about my furnace and it was 22 years old and he said that they last 7 years and I should think about changing it. He told me that because I had already paid for the tune ups and stuff, he said that the annual service is cheaper. He also said that because I paid USD 160, I get a 15% discount on the parts. He fixed my furnace. He discussed with me about what point in time I should get the furnace replaced and he also told me the average cost of the furnace. I research on Angie's list so that I can look at other companies. I thought that was really good that he helped me in advance. I told him that the humidifier was not working and he checked it out. A-1 Mechanical were fantastic.

Went well, gave an estimate & start date. Started & finished on time for the quoted price.

A-1 Mechanical of MI LLC A-1 Mechanical, reattach the exhaust pipe that had fallen down. They are great and very professional, quick and good. I liked them! They came after hours and came back twice for free.

The load calculation wasn't as detailed or complete as the one from a competing contractor. The estimator was very polite, friendly, not pushy. Once we had the meeting with the estimator and discussed our needs, it was clear that the brand they sold didn't meet our needs.

It went fine. I bought a furnace system from them 20 years ago and I liked that so I had them back for the furnace turn up in this house. Their price is the same as everybody else. I would probably use them in the future.

Same day response for service on our mother's old furnace. We decided it was beyond cost effective repair. Saleman came the next day and installation the following day. Neat clean professional job in every way. Very pretty job, everything square, plum, clean and working. They are a Carrier dealer by the way and didn't try to push the high end super efficient model down our throat as the job was for an 82 year widow who will probably not be in the house long enough to see a return on investment for the highest efficiency furnace, despite the the accompanying tax breaks.

Afterwards, when describing repair to others, the "reversed wiring" explanation, since such a problem would not have suddenly occurred! Turned out the problem was just a plugged drain pipe from A/C coil area. The replacement blower motor was probably not needed! So poor diagnostics/lack of knowledge.

A-1 Mechanical is very reliable. I like that they have always been very quick and thorough every time. The guys who come out are knowledgeable in their field which really helps. I would recommend them.
