Description of Work: "Fixed" AC unit on the roof of my sandwich shop. They didn't tighten down a pully, resulting in the center square hole in the pulley being rounded out. Therefore we had to call them back out to fix their mistake. When i talked to the guy on thd phone about not feeling that i should have to pay for their mistake, he said " im not going to rip you off" , i still rec I eved a bill and had to pay gor the parts and lobor for return visit.

Description of Work: They (owner I believe) came out to diagnose why our central air isn't working. It's a very old system & so is our furnace. He said he would probably be able to get it running if he could find parts for about $500 but said that it would only be a bandaid & we'd have other issues before long. He suggested we get a window A/C unit to get us by until we could afford a new Central Air & Furnace system for the while house which will run between $7-8,000 installed. He told us he would apply the $50 trip fee we paid him toward the job when we decide to get the new system. He was very knowledgeable & friendly.

Description of Work: Called A-1 for an estimate. Two days later I had heat again. My house was still 55 degrees when the new furnace arrived. Thanks for the fast service.

Description of Work: After other positive experiences with A-1 we had them replace our old 40 yr old furnace and got new AC to go along with it. Don the salesman was great, informative, professional and didn't try to over sell us as many do. Price above includes applicable rebates from Consumer's Energy. Andy the installer came on time on the scheduled day, he was professional, answered all of my nagging questions about the equipment and in general. He took care to be clean and neat and the finished installation was a picture for the book. I would hire these guys again for anything. The new Carrier Furnace is a 95% efficiency and we've already noticed the difference in our gas bill. All in all a very positive experience.

Description of Work: My air conditioning unit was not properly cooling my house. This was around the time it was getting crazy hot outside. A1 Mechanical was able to come out within just a few days of my call. The service tech evaluated the problem, fixed the problem (needed freon) educated me on my AC unit as far as cleaning, gave me advice on my filter, told me how to properly cover the AC unit for winter, etc. He was very knowledgeable, professional and helpful. I plan to have A1 Mechanical back before winter to do a preventative maintenance check on my furnace.
