Description of Work: Had a light that was not working in the basement. Was told it would be $85 to come out then an hourly charge to repair. Technician was out trying to figure out the problem. Looked in all outlets (upstairs and down) and tested a few wires. Told me he "didn't know" what the problem was and charged me $350.00. |My father came out the next day and had it fixed in an hour. TOTAL waste of money. Would not recommend.

Description of Work: We used Webster Electric. They installed a generator interlock. It allows you to plug a generator into the circuit board in your house.

Description of Work: Due to a water, moisture problem, Webster Electric replaced our entire electrical service, including the main lead from Cosumers Power (the service riser), meter socket, line into the home, new elctrical panel and all new breakers. In addition, Jordan (the technician) installed a new siding block for the meter socket and repaired/replaced the siding around the meter socket. For our convenience, he also installed an extra 240amp breaker for our portable generator. I was impressed with Jordan's professionalism, patience (he answered our endless questions with explanations for everything he was doing) and his efficiency -- he arrived around 8:30am and had everything completed by 3:30pm, including the siding repair work. I would also add that a couple of the reviews I had read prior to choosing Webster -- that their prices seemed a bit high -- were not at all true in our case. We had received 3 other estimates and all were HIGHER than the price we received from Webster. In all, we were extremely happy with our service from Webster and wouldn't hesitate to use or recommend them in the future.

Description of Work: Installed a garbage disposal, instatap hot water unit and repaired a slow draining tub. |They fit me into their schedule despite not having any openings in their schedule.

Description of Work: I am a do-it-yourself retiree. I needed to replace a bath ceiling fan. I could not find the part. so I figured I would have to have it done by an electrician. I chose Webster based on what I saw on Angie's List. I emailed pictures to Webster, asking for an estimate. I mentioned I would do it my self but could not find the part. Mark C replied next a.m. with info on where to get the part and how to replace. He offered to do the job if I did not want to do it myself. It is rare to find someone so helpful offering free advice! I would definitely use Webster for future work.

Description of Work: The electrician repaired two fautly household indoor outlets and a ceiling light by going into my attic and running down the problem, he found a faulty connection on a neutral wire connection that rendered the circuit inoperable, I am very happy with his work, patience and professionalism. I also asked him to assess a repair on an attic ventilation repair he did so and will return once I have the proper fan prepared for him.

Description of Work: Rewiring of outdoor electrical to a pole barn and shed. Estimate was for 8 hours labor for two men, at a rate of $100/hour. I was told it would take all day. Two men were actually on site 4 and 1/2. They both stated that the job took "a lot less time" than they thought. I was shocked when they then charged the full 8 hours of labor, despite my protest. Half an hour after leaving, they called and said they "made a mistake" I was overcharged $30. Subsequently, I contacted the supervisor for the crew. The supervisor informed me that they would only refund the $30, which was the result of an error. He maintained that I was not entitled to any additional refund for saved time on site for labor. He then stated the labor included travel, pulling equipment etc., none of which was told to me when the quote was given. The supervisor stated they had no obligation to tell me everything that is included in the estimate for labor; there was "no reason to spell it out" as "everyone knows that is included." I pointed out I had used them the prior fall, and was not charged for such items. If I had known they were going to charge me $150 extra just to drive out, I would have hired someone closer. The supervisor said he "could not explain why" I had not been charged before. He said he would get back to me in 24 hours. Two days after that conversation, the supervisor finally called and told me the company would refund one hour of labor costs; but he maintained I was not really entitled to it. After 3 weeks, I finally received the refund as promised; but it was not in the amount I feel I should have received.
