Lyster Exteriors

Lyster came out while I was at work since I couldn't leave to meet them. They took a look around and told me what needed to be done to fix an existing problem before gutters could be hung. Once I made the decision to go with Lyster they were able to do all the work in 2 days and cleaned up wonderfully both days. Very pleased with the work they did.

Estimate handled punctually. Workers arrived on time as scheduled. Installed baffles, said they could see light through baffles which indicates that there is good flow with outside air. Blew in insulation so that there is at least 10 inches in all locations. Left paper rulers which acted as guides in attic. Put cardboard around attic access openings since depth of insulation is greater than sides of attic access. Put two layers of batt insulation on top of attic access panels after we mentioned it. Coverage is not complete, especially around edges of access door, not sure if that will matter. Cleaned up and took care of areas where hose was run into house. Significantly more expensive than second estimate we received (from reputable roofing company). However the second estimate was delayed and we had already scheduled with Lyster and wanted to stick to the schedule because of other conflicts. Have put remote thermometers into the attic so we can view temperatures to assure added insulation is making a difference.

I thought I had a leak boot at one of the plumbing vents on the roof because we had water after the rains over the weekend of July 5, 2014. I went to Angie's list and found that Lysters had over 50 positive reviews so called them. I called and left a message for their service department. They called back in less than 2 hours and I told them I suspected there was a bad plumbing boot at the vent because we had another boot replaced a few years ago. I suggested that they replace both the leaky one and the other one. They came to the house, checked out the problem confirming it was a problem with the boot, and fixed it the same trip. They indicated the boot that had been replaced was still in very good shape so did not replace it . I had thought that with all of the storm damage it would be a long time before I would get someone out to look at and fix this but I was wrong. The service all earned them A ratings from me.

I like them very well and they did a good job. They were very professional and they were the only roofing company when went on the roof and gave us a quote.

Lyster Exteriors was an excellent company to do business with. They always showed up when they said they would, and performed all work as described in their quotation. They did a complete tear off roof and new installation, and I could not be happier. From the salesman, office staff, job foreman, and laborers, they were fantastic. Highly recommend.

I could write a book on how great LYSTER CONSTRUCTION (ROOFING) was. They went above and beyond for us. They said that we got screwed. They found a hole that Cass Construction shingled over where a vent should have been. I have a lis!

They were on time, did the work and cleaned up. Super Job!

In selling our home, the inspection showed some damaged shingles on our 8 year old roof, possibly from our snow removal. Since Lyster's had helped us with gutter repair, we asked them if they could help us, rather than going to the roof installer who we didn't want to deal with again. They did this small job for us, charged us a very reasonable amount, came and went without a problem. This is a wonderful company. Great customer service.

Overall, it went very well. They fit me in several weeks ahead of the agreed upon date, did a thorough job and cleaned up completely.

Process was very smooth from obtaining a quote, re-quote for scope change, and performance of work. Protected landscape with tarps and thoroughly cleaned before leaving.

A long strip of wide trim along the roofline above the vinyl siding blew off in high wind on an Sunday. I called at around 9:30am Monday and Mark was out to look at it by 10:30. He had to go get a new piece of material since the old one was too beat up. Mark came back and installed the new trim and job was done by 11:30am. Scope of work was discussed and explained along with the estimated cost with Sy over the phone before the work was done. Both Sy and Mark were friendly and professional and you certainly can't beat the response time! Sy called to follow up immediately after completion of the work.

Our experience with Lyster Exteriors was awesome. Everyone we had contact with was always courteous, friendly and professional, from the first phone call till the last crewman left our yard. We had our roof job set up late last fall, but the weather was not cooperating and the snow and cold put the job on hold until March when a couple of warmer days allowed them a chance to work on our roof. They called and wanted to start the next day to take advantage of the weather. They were on time and got right to work. The crew leader was very courteous and professional. He listened to my concerns and answered my many nagging questions with a friendly smile. They replaced our 2 skylights, replaced the kitchen vent, and put in a new bathroom vent and replaced another fresh air vent. They also removed an old water heater vent that was no longer being used. They had to replace several sheets of decking and a little insulation due to water damage. They had laid out tarps around the house to catch debris, and they went around several times with magnets picking up nails. They spent a lot of time cleaning up but there was still a lot of snow on the ground. They told us that if we found nails when the snow melted to call and they would come back and clean up again. They did a great job and I would definitely recommend them. ...,o

Overall, very pleased with the work done, the crews were very professional and on time, did a very good job of cleaning up. I would use them again.

The men were able to come the same day and give me an estimate on replacing some shingles that had blown off the roof. They were on time and very respectful and knowledgable. They checked the roof to make sure there was no water damage and told me the roof looked like it was in excellent condition and it would be easy to put new shingles on. They told me exactly what happened to the old shingles and how they were going to put them in. They also were very nice and answered my questions when I asked if they could give me an estimate on adding onto the deck. I will definitely be using them again for any roof work we may need in the future and when we are ready to add onto our deck. I highly recommend them!!!

Well Luke Inspected the roof for an estimate and did give me an estimate, i called Luke again to discuss the overhang canopy and to discuss costs and he agreed to call me later. After six days of waiting for a call from Luke, which gave me the impression that Lyster was not interested in doing the job, Finally i got a call from Luke and i was not happy and we were already beginning to work with "that" other company.. We then decided to go with "that" other company, this other company had missed their first appointment with us, and we regret that we called them back, because that went even worse than what had happened with Lyster. So we went back to Lyster to see if we could patch up the situation and move on from there. But, i found out that the owner of "that" last roofing company who had missed their initial appointment with us , whom we were glad to get rid of him, was going around telling other owners of roofing companies, including Lyster that they needed to "be careful with us". So because of the additional unprofessionalism and drama and the poison that "that" other company injected into our business and communication with Lyster, it makes it difficult for us to fault Lyster for refusing to do the job now

As we have a record winter the snow has piled up and not melted. The back 1/3 of the house is a flat roof and although we were fairly confident that it could hold the current snow load (but not altogether sure) we decided to have the snow removed, especially in light of the fact that any more snow or rain or ice could overload the structure. So why not be sure instead of sorry. My husband called Lyster Exteriors as they came recommended by a co-worker and we had used them last fall to help determine where a leak might be coming from around the chimney (which was a chimney problem.and not a roofing problem and we were not charged for inspection). They had a crew at the house within 2 days and the 4 guys shoveled off the roof in 45 minutes and did a great job. We thought the price was fair and less than we expected.

Were on time worked through lunch, got job done in very cold conditions.

They were excellent and very professional. They cleaned up very well - after they completed the new roof, they went through our yard with a magnet and picked up all the nails. They also completed the project within a week. I would choose them again in a heartbeat - you definitely get what you pay for.

Completed the job in one day. They were quick to respond to some minor damage issues and resolved them satisfactory.

We have used Lyster Exteriors in the past for a number of projects including a new roof & windows and doors installation. While they are not the cheapest estimate around we feel they are fair in their prices with the service they provide. They are very responsive and have always provided us with estimates within a day or two. They are quick to answer any questions and we have always been happy with the end result.

Matt Lyster came and evaluated a problem with water leaking into our kitchen. He spent a lot of time assessing the problem, and then made a repair. We have to wait and see until it rains again if it is really fixed, but he was prompt and very efficient with his and my time, and said he'll come again to fix it if the first repair doesn't work. I highly recommend him.

Bill and his crew just couldn't have been more efficient and effective. He discussed the different possibilities to redo the roof last year, and seemed knowledgeable about different types of shingles, and what would work with our house. Our job was postponed, and we had a last-minute change in plans as far as the colors were concerned (and weren't so sure we wanted it at first, after it was finished() but Bill was understanding throughout. They had over half the roof done the first day and were completed with everything the next afternoon. They were especially scrupulous in cleaning up and removing all the debris after them. I'd recommend Lyster to anyone for roofing.

They were able to move me up in the schedule, so my roof was completed ahead of schedule. They arrived promptly on the day the work was done and went right to work. The supervisor reviewed all the details with me as the guys were sitting up including anything they needed to protect around the house while they were doing the tear down. The work was complete and all clean up done on the same day. They did a very good job.

This company was a pleasure to do business with. Proposal was fair and complete. Salesman (Scott) inspected the job with me, addressed any concerns I had and explained the proposal thoroughly before acceptance. Job was started and completed (3 days) two weeks before original scheduled start. Jesse, Kenny (crew lead) and the entire crew were courteous, safety minded, and thorough in their tasks. All existing roof problems were repaired (decking at Peak Vents and 1 drainage issue). Working the financials with Sue in the Office was easy and simple (and pleasant). Clean up was immaculate and the new roof provided is perfection.
