Cory came out right away to provide an estimate, and he was very thorough in examining the exterior of the home. He and his team went above and beyond, making an extra trip to pick up the matching exterior stain and staining the new cedar siding boards as a courtesy in addition to prepriming. He kept in contact as promised and was able to schedule the job earlier than expected. Cody and Tom were very efficient and did an outstanding job of completing the work. The team all treated me as a valued customer even though this was probably a relatively small job to complete during a very busy season. I will definitely call Lyster Exteriors for future projects and am pleased to support this local business.

They were fantastic. They examined the problem and moved quickly to fix. How ever the first attempt did not fix the entire problem. They were out the next day to make it right. Very professional and communiticated perfectly. Would hire again without question.

I contacted Lyster of Jackson to do a roof repair on a run down uninhabited second cottage on lake vacation property, where probably 25-30% of the deck needed replaced, along with sistering of some rafter boards that were sagging. I lived in a different state, so never got to meet with Dante. I was so pleased with the complete attention to detail, allowing me to ask many questions, and receiving back answers in a quick response. I was out of the country for 3 weeks, came back and signed the contract and mailed 50% down. Dante was going to come out to meet us while we were at the cottage the last week of August, but never did. Then my husband and friend came up from Ohio for a short period of time, and had some more questions, and asked if Dante could come out to meet them when they were at the cottage. I sent an email, left a voicemail, and yes it was Saturday morning, so I was hoping he would get the message and be able to come out possibly on Monday, but knew that was a slim chance with such late notice. Instead I received an email back saying he decided to pass on the job because we were concerned with the sagging roof, stating he didn't have framers in Jackson. I was shocked and taken back, because who was going to do the sistering in of the rafters that was in the quote. Dante could see the condition of the roof the two times he inspected and measured. I thought a contract was a contract. I can't imagine what would have happened if I decided to break the contract a couple of weeks after I had signed it and paid the $2100 down! He said he would return the money. Two weeks later I had still not received my check back, so I had to pay the $30 fee to cancel the check since it had not been cashed. Eventually, the check did arrive. I chose this company based on Angie's reviews, the wonderful office staff, and Dante's professionalism and kindness by phone and email. I called the office staff when I arrived back in Ohio, and spoke to Laurie, the Production Manager, who was as pleasant as can be, and said she would find out for me what happened and get back to me, but I never heard back. I am truly disappointed, and left to start all over in the middle of September to get our cottage roof repaired before winter. I am also disappointed because if all went well, I had siding, and windows, and some decking to have done, which I thought maybe they could do as well. I spoke with other persons on the lake, who also received quotes from Dante and was pleased with their professionalism and detailed quotes, but said the Lyster quotes were the highest. I did not find this to be true, their quote was right in the middle, towards the top, but not the highest. At this point I just have to move on, but it has left me with a bad taste regarding roofing companies and integrity.

Excellent. They measured the length of boards needed, obtained and painted them beforehand. Then brought a full crew to complete job and clean-up in one day. Very professional.

I called Lyster's and spoke with Penny. She was polite and helpful. Sy Thompson called and was at my home within one hour of my initial call with Penny. He inspected the roof and the attic at no cost. He was knowledgeable, polite and obviously knew what he was doing. Luckily for us, the problem is not going to require an expensive fix, but we will definitely call them again if we need anything else. We are even considering them for replacement windows now.

Final price came in per proposal. Lyster Exteriors offered two shingle options--I will term them, "good" and "superior." Lysters' "good" option was right in the middle of two other estimates also offering good shingles. One company's estimate was actually $3,000 less than Lyster for the exact same "good" shingle, but I went with Lyster and the "superior" shingle option for multiple reasons: (1) Lyster wrote a better, detailed proposal/contract down to stating it only "nail our roofs with nail guns, we do not staple;" (2) Lyster is credentialed by the manufacturer as a "Select Shinglemaster;" (3) Lyster had the most impressive Angie's List comments; (4) only Lyster offered an upgraded, "superior" option to install a thicker, longer-lasting shingle, the CertainTeed Landmark Pro shingle, for an additional cost--this is what I opted for; (5) with the Pro shingle, Lyster offered me a "4-Star" 50-year non prorated, limited-transferrable warranty covering material, labor, tear-off and disposal (workmanship covered first ten years); (6) Lyster offered me multiple color options, its competition offered me one--grey; (7) when I complained to the other estimators of moss on the north/steep side of my roof, they just nodded their heads--in contrast, Lyster's estimator, Shawn, offered me a simple zinc strip solution at minimal additional cost ($200); and (8) Shawn was simply more prepared, professional than his competition--including providing an informational package explaining the materials to be used, worker's comp certificate, and warranty info. I have not been sorry I went with Lyster--I put half down and work began 10 days later. My roof was de-shingled and replaced by the end of the following work day (on a Saturday)--about 20 hours work by a 5/6-man crew (it was another 2 weeks for zinc strips to come in and be fully installed). Thanks to Jesse (Supervisor) and Augustine (Crew Leader) work stayed on schedule. Crew member, Manuel, always took time to explain whatever I wanted/needed to know--including the issue of and solution for my improperly venting bathroom. Thanks to Shawn, I got the zinc strips to prevent moss on the north side; and even though I remembered to ask only post-contract signing, Shawn still agreed to retain and replace my existing vinyl gutter guards at the completion of the project at no cost (for which I am grateful as I am not fond of the heights of my second story eaves). Day One clean-up was thorough--though I must note that I found a single nail wedged in a crack of my asphalt drive where a pick-up truck had been parked. Day Two clean-up was exhaustive--I witnessed the Lyster crew sweeping magnets over my drive and some lawn and landscaping areas 3 to 5 times. Other than that nail, I found 4 staples (from de-shingling) under one deck chair--no shingle debris or anything else to speak of left behind...pretty impressive! I read an Angie's List article, "Save or Splurge: Maintenance Projects That Are Worth the Higher Costs," that indicated roofs are a "splurge" item. I definitely could have "saved" on my roof and paid, perhaps, $4,500 or so less--but paying less for a roof that I would worry may not last, is not appealing to me. Instead, I chose a superior shingle and a superior warranty, provided by a superior roofer. I am 45 years old and I may have bought my last roof for my home--I feel for the superior Lyster quality I received, the price was right. Oh, and the multi-shaded browns of the the Max Def Shenandoah color looks GREAT on my home too!!!

It was phenomenal, Cory came out and took a look at the roof. He was really professional and even though he could have up=sold me, he made a recommendation that was the right one for me and my pocket book. I walked away not needing repairs, but will definitely be coming back to them in a few years when I need a new roof!

Everything was great. We got a same day response to our request for a quote. The work was done in an afternoon in less than a week from when we authorized the work. It was done professionally and Corey followed up with a phone call.

First, let me say I have always proudly proclaimed my disdain for contractors, meaning just about anyone who ever has to do any work around my home. They don't show up, they don't call to tell you, they don't call to apologize for not showin up, they don't call you back when you call them to find out why they didn't show up or if they're coming at another time - no matter how many times you call! If they do come they often do a half-assed (pardon my french) job or screw it up even more, they're less than honest, they don't care how they treat your home, they leave a mess....you get the picture. WELL, I have to eat ALL of my words now.....Lyster Exteriors are THE best people I have EVER worked with, bar NONE. First, they returned my email within hours. Sy came out WHEN HE SAID HE WAS COMING, ON TIME! He listened, he evaluated the situation, we came up with a plan, we set a date. The weather was less than cooperative so he CALLED AND APOLOGIZED days in advance that they would have to move the job ahead by a day. THEY CALLED!!! Then, Cody and Jay showed up ON TIME ON THE DAY THEY WERE SUPPOSED TO! Cody took pictures and explained exactly what they would do before they did anything. THEN THEY DID IT!!! WOW!!! The leak ended up being the result of an architectural flaw which could not have been discovered until they really got into it. At that point the job required experienced workers who would take their time to investigate the problem, find the source of the leak, and come up with a plan to correct it. Cody was totally honest and explained that he wanted to get the opinion of other experienced roofers to be sure he was correct before proceeding --WOW! SO IMPRESSIVE! He didn't pretend he "knew it all"....wow! wow! We needed another day, they Sy discussed keeping the extra cost as low as he could (and he did - Cody returned with Jimmy and they worked for 6 HOURS when they came back.....again, took pictures, showed us exactly what was happening and fixed it. wow. I just can't say enough. Wow. I am so glad the other TWO attempts we made to get guys here failed and they didn't show up. They NEVER would have figured it out. WOW. I also have to say I went to the business to pay the bill and to scope it out - wow again. Clean, neat and very well signed. I knew where to go and everyone I talked to was friendly, efficient and attentive-- even when they were short handed! WOW!!! I was desperate when I joined Angie's list....I'm so happy right now! My big gripe is that they came with the crew that couldn't mortise the doors. They were pretty good in terms of getting the work done fast, showing up and cleaning up. They suggested the right products and the right materials, all that was good. Normally when you do outdoor door, normally those guys should know how to mortise a door, that was the hassle. Price is pretty average. They're very responsive. I think I will not use them again.

Let it be known that Lyster Exteriors did NOT do any work for me, so I am not reviewing their work, prices, etc. What I am reviewing is their professionalism - or lack thereof. My neighbor had Lyster roof her house and during the time it took to do the roof, the roofing crew made numerous sexual remarks to my wife two days in a row while running past the house. Each time, the upstanding employees whistled, yelled at her to "shake it girl", and other snide remarks. It wasn't every employee, just a few of them. I understand that a good portion of roofers have shady backgrounds, but this was pretty absurd. Not exactly the best way to promote good business and I will definitely avoid them should I need exterior work. Hopefully the owner reads this and makes good use of it. I can only imagine this wasn't the first time.

It went well, they are a really good company. I ran a housing rehab program for my county and I've had a lot of experience with contractors. The sign of a good contractor is how they deal with these things and they took care of it in a very professional and proficient manner.

Luke was my sales rep; he explained materials and process well; very open to questions. I got bids from 3 companies, all found on Angie's list. All 3 were solid, but liked the Lyster package a bit better. All appointments and work were done on days and times agreed to. Actual charges were exactly as contracted. Very good communication process with Luke, and with office staff. I found the whole crew to be great to work with.

They were on time and professional. They cleaned up after themselves. They stayed within their quote and offered helpful ideas. They used good materials and worked safely. The workers were easy to get along with.

Quality of work is good. Crew and clean up is good. Coordination and follow up with sales, not so great. They agreed to all we requested up front but had to constantly call to remind them of what we agreed too. No response back for a repair to a few shingles made from the roof jacks and another quote for our barn. We are concerned about response if there are any warranty issues.

We had water damage/leaks in two areas of our home. From the first contact I had with Lyster, they were wonderful to work with. When I called them, they came out same day to look at the problem. The service manager was thorough and explained the root cause very well. He provided a quote in a timely manner. They fit us in their schedule for a few weeks later. Lyster's team came at the date and time they promised and were very professional. They explained each step in detail. I was very comfortable with the work they did and have no doubts whatsoever about the level of quality. The one area of our house turned out to not be as big of an issue as originally anticipated so they credited back some money off the original quote. Overall, they did a wonderful job. They were extremely professional and helpful. I had a great experience working with them and would not hesitate to work with them in the future.

It couldn't have gone better. The team showed up on time, were VERY hard, professional, polite workers. I offered them to use our bathroom, but they didn't. I offered to provide lunch for the team, but they declined. They were very grateful for the water bottles we provided. Each night when they left, they cleaned up completely! There was always someone available to speak English with. My husband asked questions along the way and they very patiently answered.

They were here quick and did a good job. It was a great experience.

There were a few issues, but they had good follow up. They were good to their word about providing customer satisfaction. They did a good job, once everything was complete. Over the winter, some of the siding came loose. As soon as the weather cleared, they came out and fixed the problem. The repair crew was always polite. I liked working with a local company, not a chain. Their prices were competitive as well.

They did not invoice me for their service, even though they were not the original provider and installer of the shingles. They were professional, courteous and very helpful, even climbing to my roof to extract a sample of the bad shingles. Their efforts resulted in about $2,000 rebate to me. Overall this was not a large rebate. However, what Lyster did for me was exceptional and beyond any service I have ever experienced.

They took away all the old shingles, decking that was replaced and skylights. They cleaned the yard of all scraps, nails, etc. A very professional job. No hard sell!

We had a very excellent service in all that was done. From the first call to the work being done, everything went smooth. We had just started to move into the home so we were not at the house every day. Lyster was willing to work around the time we would be there. What else could we ask for

It went very well. I am surprised that there is nothing worthy of criticism. They were pleasant, professional and punctual, as well as extremely hardworking and efficient. They thoroughly cleaned up after themselves. The only way you would even know they were here is by my new roof and their sign in the front yard. I was pleased that they were conscientious of my two dogs. I asked that they make sure to close the back gate so I wouldn't have to worry when I let them out and they did! ?
