Description of Work: When we bought this house the main bathroom skylight leaked and needed to be replaced. We called (Lyster Roofing) and agreed that they would put in a new one. After they came and replaced the skylight the rainy season came and the ceiling right around the skylight began to drip rain water from several locations. We called Lyster Roofing and asked them to come back and redo |the roof around the skylight again. And... we told them that they were now responsible for fixing our leaky bathroom ceiling. (Before Lyster came the bathroom ceiling never leaked). They claimed that the leak had nothing to do with their work but was something separate and not their problem. The Lyster salesman hinted that the first team of roofers, the "C Team", may not have done the roof work as well as it might have been done and that they would send a second team of roofers out to see if they could do something to the roof around the skylight that would put an end to the leaks in the bathroom. | |The rain now had frozen and turned to ice and severe snow storms were soon upon us. Cold days were followed by warm days and then by snow. This created new and larger problems. | |An ice dam developed on the roof and gutter right next to the skylight area. Now, not only did the bathroom ceiling near the skylight leak constantly but new areas in the ceiling were dripping. The bathroom wall adjacent to the area that was reroofed with new skylight was now wet. Melting Ice Dam water from this targeted location, (Edge of roof and gutter, 1 1/2 feet from the skylight) was starting to flow straight down inside the walls of the bathroom then spread out several feet and soak the new window and wooden window frame that had been installed only months earlier. | |The ice dam was now quickly growing from its source location, beside the skylight, and began to travel in both directions along the gutter line, thick ice on roof, along gutter and large icicles. | |On warmer days the ice dam began to melt and the melted water started to flood the attic over that bedroom with the skylight and the master bedroom. | |To make a long story short, the bathroom with the skylight had to be gutted because mold was in the wall and ceiling. A wall and the ceiling in the master bedroom had to be torn out and replaced because it started to mold. Was this $15,000.00 redo partially due to Lyster's work on the roof and skylight??? | |When we accepted Lyster Roofing's original bid in August we paid half up front before the work began. They promptly removed the old skylight and replaced it with a new one. Soon after their work was completed the first hard rain of the season came and the first leaks in the bathroom ceiling started. Drywall nail heads could now be seen for the first time as well as a slight sag. We told Lyster we would consider final payment when they fixed the roof and the ceiling. They never came back... but kept billing us. They never intended to repair the damage to the bathroom ceiling. Another company did all the work on that bathroom. | |I would say, use Lyster Roofing at your own risk... and make sure they send out their "A" team to do the work.

Description of Work: I requested a estimate for a new roof. They were on time and seemed interested in providing a estimate and I was told that they would get back to me within 2 weeks. Never did here back from them and its been over 3 months. I contacted the company and told them I would like my blue prints that the estimator took with him back. They instructed me to call the estimator and provided his number and I left message but still did not respond. Must be they have enough work that they feel they don't have to.

Description of Work: Hired them to re-shingle my roof, extend the front of the roof, and build a deck on the front. |They did an excellent job and the attention to detail was meticulous. They cleaned up afterward to where you wouldn't even know they were there. |It took them awhile to complete the job, but they were interrupted with a major snowstorm and very cold temperatures. |I would definitely hire them again and have recommended them to others.

Description of Work: Following the estimate by Scott, the crew put on a new roof in a day in late September and at that point everything was fine. I asked the foreman, Bill, about replacing gutters that seemed to overflow at times and leak. He suggested perhaps larger gutters. Scott returned to give me another estimate and said he thought they could reuse the same screen coverings I had on the old ones. The gutters were more expensive than I expected but went ahead with them on November 1 after being out of town for two weeks. At the time of installation, I found out the screen coverings were no longer on my old gutters and had been thrown out when the new roof was installed. Jesse, the foreman for the gutter installation, told me he didn't think the old screening would fit the new gutters anyway and showed me a couple of (expensive) alternatives. Resigned that I was going to have to do something as I have trees all around the house, I contacted Scott for another estimate. At this writing, after two weeks and two separate phone calls he returned by call with an estimate and said he would be by to show me the materials and set things up. I am still waiting for him and the snow is flying. I had hoped to have all of this completed by early November, but am still waiting. I am pleased with the quality of the roof and gutters and with the work the crews did. I am disappointed in Scott as these final developments have made this process go on longer than necessary which is why more of these categories could not be an "A". I have nothing but praise for the quality of the work performed by the crews.

Description of Work: The representative was very professional and punctual. He did a great job describing the work that would be performed and providing a detailed quote. I decided to have another provider perform the work but I would consider Lyster Exteriors for future needs.

Description of Work: We had water streaming down inside our kitchen cupboards due to ice buildup on the roof. I called Luster and my call was returned immediately. We were worked in for the very same day. Three men were at the house for one and a half hours. I can't say enough good things about this experience,they were wonderful. |

Description of Work: They stripped my old roof and put on a new roof. The work was excellent and the cleanup was, as if nothing had taken place. The roof and my yard looked grea.

Description of Work: They have given estimate for roof strip and reroof, repair of eaves and aluminum siding of eaves and installation of gutters and gutter guards. No work has been started yet.

Description of Work: We called Lyster because of the positive reviews. We chose Lyster because they were thorough, informative and offered a fair value. Throughout the project, they kept me informed, it was finished in a timely manner, the roof looks great. Luke was our sales rep. - He knows roofs.

Description of Work: we requested estimates from 5 roofing contractors. Lyster was one of them. Their bid was very competitive, but we went with another contractor that could get to our job a little faster. The Lyster rep was very professional and gave us good ideas for our job.
