The serviceman was punctual, friendly, professionl, and we were satisfied with the service and the recommendations for future service.

Blockage in pipes coming from toilet. Cleared but same problem in 4- 6 wks.

Final charges were exactly what was quoted. The install was done in the time allotted. No other issues.

Like all frugal consumers recommend, get several other bids before hiring any company. Get all repairs in writing no matter how petty the item may be. This company is why frugal consumers recommend everyone practice these principles before hiring any one company to perform a service.

It went great. they used tools/equipment that I had never seen use by other heating/cooling service men....to determine the gas pressure, etc. When something went wrong on this very hot day, with our AC , (fault was indeterminate.. something to do with the thermostat ..turning it off and not turning the cooling back on) , they returned to make it operate... at no additional charge. We were very very satisfied with the service we received.

It seemed the plumber took longer than needed and it was very costly

It took several hours to run a gas line from our utility area in the basement up to the kitchen. It seemed to take way too long (hence the price...). Watching the person doing the work seemed like this was the first time he has done this type of work. Once the project was complete the oven flame was huge. Another appliance installer was at our home a few days later and resolved the issue.

The plumber performing the work was nice. This job turned out to be far more expensive than anticipated. The old, cheap sump pump burned out trying to pump water out of our sump pump pit. As it turned out the line running outside had frozen after two days of rain followed by freezing weather. He ended up running a drain line from the pump along some bulkhead nearly the length of the basement. The rationale as he explained it was due to code compliance regarding the water draining in the main house drain versus a separate line to our septic system. He also explained digging the external line, repairing the blockage and backfilling would be more expensive. Based on recent interaction with the Provider we are hesitant to work with them primarily due to price.

On the day that Great Lakes Plumbing arranged to detect the leak in the pipes, their workman was only present for about 1/2 hour. The leak detection company and the Great Lakes Plumber did not listen to my recommendations on where to look for the leak. Prior to the visit, I was told $300 to detect the leak. The bill was for over $800. When I challenged their billing, I was told I needed to pay for not only the leak detector, but also their plumber. When I told them that he was only present for 1/2 hour, and the leak detection took almost 4 hours - they said it was my word against their plumber. The leak was in the floor where I said it was. Great Lakes would not give me a written quote on repair of the leak. When I called to ask how much it would cost to repair, and get my heat re-established I was told "at least 3500" and no written quotes would be given, as it was unknown. I ended up going with another company that responded right away, listened to me, and were respectful. The total cost with another company was $830. I would not recommend Great Lakes.

Tim is very knowledgable about his product line. His explanations were concise and helpful. I was so impressed with his workmanship. I can't imagine any company having a better employee.

Tim came for the second time to my home and I was blown away by how thorough he was. The cost versus the service you get for the money spent is really amazing! A few weeks after my AC/furnace servicing was done by them, I had to call them to look at my water heater. The receptionist on the phone was nice, Tim was right on time and he was thoughtful not to be wasteful in my expenses that I'd have to incur. A really great choice of a company!

Our 18-yr old water heater started leaking on Saturday evening (when else?) and we had to turn off the water line feeding it. It was either call someone out on the weekend or wait until Monday for hot water. We opted for the former. The plumber from Great Lakes called about 20 minutes after we left a message with the answering service and was working in our basement within an hour. The old heater had at least a foot of sediment in the bottom (now I know I need to flush it a couple times a year), so getting it drained so it could be hauled upstairs was no easy task. The fellow was pleasant, explained everything very clearly, took his time to get everything right, and cleaned up after himself. We were impressed by both his service and professionalism.

We were extremely pleased with the installer (Tim). He is a perfectionist about his work. We were also impressed about his knowledge of the system and friendly, communicative manner. His experience certainly shows. We have not yet operated the system and of course, we won't until cold months. We have every confidence that we will be very pleased. We will certainly report if we are not.

I received a call just about 30 minutes before they arrived. They arrived at the scheduled appointment time and made the repair in a timely. The technician was very friendly and professional. Highly recommended.

The young man that came out was very professional, did an excellent job, and kept the cost as low as he could, so I was pretty pleased especially with it being on a weekend because there's an extra charge on a weekend. It was nice that there was someone available to come to my home. That I was very appreciative of, because I was putting down buckets. I got a callback immediately when I made a phonecall there and the guy was here probably within an hour after that. I didn't like having to pay the extra charge for the weekend though.

Work went pretty fast since there were two technicians here. They worked fast and didn't waste any time. Both men were courteous and explained everything that needed to be done and why BEFORE they did it (after getting my approval). They cleaned up after themselves also.

I contacted 3 people and I called on a Sunday night and I left messages for them to contact me the next day and they called me the first thing the next morning. They were very professional and they were able to get someone out they said that afternoon and later they called back and said they could come before noon. The guy came and took care of everything that I needed doing. He did a lot of education along the way. He let me know about things that might need work in the future. He asked permission do to a couple of things that he could do easily while he was putting in a sump pump for me and it turned to be a great improvement. He suggested replacing the old iron pipes between the sump pump and an outlet to a separate tank which is not a huge expense and it’s really improved the plumbing in the whole house. The toilet flashes faster and nothing is clogged up. I don’t know if the price is comparable but it sounded good to me. Everything was done by 1:00. He was quite courteous. The quality of work is fine. There’s no problem as far as I know. The valve he put in for the faucet is wonderful. There’s just no problem. He cleaned up. He used his own tools. He is just very professional. He called on the way despite the fact that I have a time. I would recommend them.

He showed up as promised. When he came for the estimate he threw out a verbal estimate of $600 - $800 depending on cost of supplies. This was for the replacement of the shower/tub faucet and kitchen sink faucet. We added the basement job when he was here. We were charged $1400.00 at the completion of the job for 6 hours of work and parts. They also charged us $88 for the bid visit??? After thinking about the fact that we never got a written estimate and did not get an itemized bill at the end, we called the manager to request a itemized bill and question the charges. The plumber was here for 6 hours total. We were told that the plumber gave us the price of the job when he came to look at the job. We are unable to come to the same total no matter how we add it up with $88/hour plus parts. The manager gave us a $55 refund and has continued to justify the cost with no resolution. We realize we should have requested a written estimate and then questioned the total before we paid....stupid!!! Beware when you hire this company....get the estimate in writing and request an itemized bill at the end. The work was great but really questioning their billing practices. We will hire someone else next time we need a plumber.

Never heard back from leaving a message regarding a plumbing requirement

They came out when I called and work for about 1 hr and a half and did a perfect job with putting a hole in the wall and replacing it with a cover I can take off and shut off water in the winter.

They were on time. They fixed what they needed to fix, they left, and that was it. Their demeanor was wonderful. The guy was very friendly, he was very courteous, clean. He was friendly.

They were nice and took care of everything that needed to be taken care of. I had no problem with them and will be using them again. The quality of the work that they did was great; it was very professional. I knew that once it was done I would not have any problems with it. They provided really good service also with the phone calling. I just had really good service with them. The service man was very nice and congenial. He knew what he was talking about. When they scheduled the appointments the people were very nice on the phone. I liked the fact that they were very professional as well as the fact that when I called they got in schedule and were on time when they said they were going to be. I did not have to wait for them for a very long time. Their professionalism, timely manner and everything about them was good.

We had service performed by Great Lakes Plumbing in the fall of 2012. They worked on a plumbing issue with our upstairs bathroom and that work was stellar. Before our serviceman left we asked him to give us a quote to repair and replace all of our outdoors faucets plus correct an issue left from the person who installed our water softener several years ago. We called them in April and we set up the service for the next week. Great Lakes Plumbing was prompt, professional and the total job price was as quoted. But what impressed me the most is that they came back the next day and corrected an issue created by the new plumbing install and didn't stop until it was Absolutely Right. I'd recommend them with confidence to anyone.

The person doing the work was wonderful. There were no problems and all is well.
