This is one of the most unprofessional companies I have dealt with. In June of 2021 GLP&H installed a faucet for me. That $200 faucet worked for 5 months before it broke. When I called to have it fixed in January of 2022, our plumber (Eldon) came out and explained they installed an old faucet in error. The old faucet was placed in a new faucet box which is usually sent out, however in my situation it was unintentionally installed. When Eldon took the faucet apart you could see it was an old faucet and he apologized and installed new one. Fast forward 8 months to August 2022. The new faucet has snapped. The company gives you a year warranty on the products they install. I called asking for a replacement since it's only been 8 months. I was advised the warranty had expired. How is that possible I just had it installed. Well ma'am when we installed the old one, your warranty started then so the new one we installed only had a 6 month warranty. I am sorry that is not how warranties work. I have been more then patient, especially after your people ADMITTED to installing the incorrect faucet, and now you are telling me you won't fix it because the warranty is expired. Absolutely not. When I called to talk to the manager, he was less then friendly and unwilling to make it right. I advised you I would purchase my own faucet and have your company install it you stated that wouldn't work for you. For a business that prides itself in being a family company you sure don't help your customers. I will await a response and a date when you can come install my new faucet.

The service is fine. The availability is fine. Their scheduling is good. The only thing that is bad is it's very expensive. But I understand it.

I developed an urgent need on a Sunday with what turned out to be a clogged pipe, causing a major plumbing issue, needing a rapid resolution. Great Lakes Plumbing was recommended to me. After many rings, someone answered the phone. I gave my summary of what was happening, stated it was an emergency. She said a plumber would call me back. After not hearing back in a reasonable amount of time, I called another company, who came out quickly, resolving my issue. I did not receive a call back from Great Lakes until the next morning! And it was from the office, still not from a plumber. It was disappointing to not receive at least a call back on Sunday with a plumber, to evaluate my issue, when it was stated that it was an emergency/urgent need. I did not feel heard and will not call them in the future.

The plumbers were nice, helpful, gave good advise about plumbing.

Quick response and prompt arrival. Needed to replace the water softener head and rebuild seal and pistons. Was able to get parts and repair all in the same service call. Fully discussed problem and options before performing work.

It went fabulously well. Not only did they do the work they explicitly agreed to do, but as they encountered problems, they repaired those as well. For example, they had agreed to replace the stops under the upstairs bathroom sink, but then when they saw that the stops under the half bath sink were incorrectly done, they redid those as well. They removed a tangle of pipe near the washing machine, replumbing that AND the utility sink. They also cleaned out the kitchen faucet which was becoming clogged, and ensured our drinking water R/O system was off of softened water (instead of hard water)! So there's a lot of value here for the cost, and I was very pleased with how quickly everything was done, given the enormous scope of the job. And, they said it would take a whole day, but then were done by 1 pm! Great Lakes shot to the top of my list for plumbing services in Kalamazoo.

The price is probably an A cause I think he was comparable. The quality was good. I don't remember any problems with the professionalism. He was friendly, he was confident.

Did not come the day they said they would come. Came next morning and spent 5 minutes walking around the house just to tell us they couldn't do anything. Had to take 2 days off work to have nothing done

Did a much better job than a previous plumbing company a few years ago.

They were able to come out the same day I called. The plumber could not find any reason for the flooding. He tried to reenact the flooding by letting the water run, but to no avail. But he did take the garbage disposal apart and fixed it. He also cleaned out the drain to be sure nothing was backed up. Everything seemed to be working fine when he left. Very knowledgeable and professional.

Our plumber located the leak and fixed it more quickly than we imagined possible. He was very honest and Professional. He was finished so quickly that we asked him to repair some loose pipes under our kitchen. He completed that also. Did a great job.

Great I came home one night with my water heater leaking and called around the next day to see who could come out soon and to get prices. Great Lakes gave me a reasonable price and more importantly they could come out the next day. The day the came there was a snow storm but Elvin showed up on time and did a great job installing it.

Everything on time, on verbal estimate, and as agreed. Eldon did a great job and completed the work much quicker than planned and also made a quick repair to a sink drain. Great scheduling, service and communications from first call to finished installation.

They completed the job in the time frame they said they would. They did a better job than we imagined. They communicated well and were very affordable. I would use this company again for any plumbing needs.

Ernie was very professional and tried to save me money by bringing some parts that I did not now I would need for the job. He was running a few minutes late, but called to let me know in advance that he would be about 10 minutes late as my house is super hard to find and GPS is messed up to find it. He stayed over the time block we had anticipated to make sure the work was done correctly.

VERY poorly! Poor quality work which had to be redone. VERY difficult to get information by telephone. They do not follow up when they say they will. Plumber leaves, says will call back in a day or two and never calls back. From the very first call, phone messages were not returned. VERY dissatisfied. About the toilet - plumber said that the Kohler toilet needed a replacement part but the toilet model has been discontinued. They looked "all over" for that part, even looking at a different store in Kalamazoo! Said the part could not be replaced and I needed a new toilet. Getting this "conclusion" took way too long. I called back asking for the name of the broken part. Getting an answer to this question took about two weeks. Then, I used "the google" -- called up Kohler myself. YES of course they sell the part for about $20. I ordered the part myself. About the leaky kitchen faucet - the whole fixture was old so I requested a new faucet. They brought the new faucet and installed it. It took forever but all looked good. About one week later, I discovered that they had installed it incorrectly, causing a leak underneath the sink. Nearly destroyed that wooden "shelf" under there. At that point, I simply could not trust having them in my house again. So I called Dependable Plumbing who, within about one minute, found and fixed the obvious mistake with the faucet installation. And he installed the replacement part for the toilet. I called Great Lakes one last time to ask for some reimbursement for the HUGE payment I had given them. They were well aware of the problems and well aware of how long it had taken to work with them. They continued to express surprise that replacement parts can be ordered on the internet. I was refused any reimbursement - I was told that I had had the option of inviting them into my home AGAIN AND AGAIN, for no extra charge, to get the work done that they had started and for which I had already paid. But clearly, that was not an option. The work was of such poor quality that I could not trust having them in my home. Finally - I still don't know how I paid so much for that work, even if it had been done properly.. They sent over two plumbers to do the work. Took a long time. I paid WAY too much even if the work had been done correctly.

Ken and Alex adjusted the pump and tank and also removed a part from the shower head. Presto: much better pressure. The gurgling was a tougher problem. It turns out the vent stack was clogged with acorns and other stuff. First they tried rodding it with a hand held device. That failed. However, then they dragged a much larger rodder onto the roof (not an easy task), and cleared the clogged vent that way. No more gurgling! They did an excellent job in about 90 minutes total.

Eldon called and wanted to come early, good; the office gave him the wrong address, bad. He still ended up on time. He was pleasant and friendly and knowledgeable. He got right to the problems and had them fixed in a couple of hours (old house). The upstairs toilet still wasn't working quite right but he checked and adjusted it before he left. Cleaned up and made sure all was working. The cost was reasonable. Will give them an A- because of the missed address. Will hire again. This company came highly recommended both on Angie's List and from friends.

Came out when they said they would, quickly discovered where the problem was, fixed it, and was gone in two hours. Very polite/friendly and professional service. It's also the only place I called (out of 5 others) that actually answered the phone when I called to get the plumber out and ask for updates on timing. Highly recommended, will use them in the future if we ever need plumbing work.

Eldon & Alex showed up on time each of the 4 full days this project took. Ken came and worked a day with them as well. They were professional, respectful, tenacious and thorough. We have hired this company for a couple clogged drains and will be using them in a couple weeks for a new furnace at a location. Highly recommend!

I found out from my flooring installers that they would not disconnect my gas stove to move it to install the floor. They told me I would need to call a plumber. I called Great Lakes at the last minute as I did not have any notice and they were able to fit me into the schedule after I told them my tight timeline. The guy who came out was friendly and efficient. I would use this company again for any plumbing needs I have! I am greatly appreciative of the fact that they were able to fit me into the schedule.

we called with an emergency; the operated was kind enough to advise us that if we waited till morning (we called on Sunday) the cost for service would be significantly less. Since the leak wasn't excessive, we place a bucket and waited. He arrived early and completed the task. We are very happy and will use them again.

The plumber told me there would not be that much difference in price coming on the weekend.He wasn't able to come the day I called him because he was busy.So he had to come the next day..He removed my dryer vent and took it apart..left a hole in my wall in below zero weather.....He cut the pipe to the outside which rendered it unusable and told me he would be out the next week to fix it..He charged me 291 dollars which I paid...The next week another plumber came to my house and shook his head at how the other plumber left it and told me he would reduce prices to make up for how it was left....He returned a couple days later to do the job.He installed a new dryer vent set up and completed the plumbing job.The job was good quality .It would of been appreciated if he put the piece of ceiling back that was taken down.There is still a hole in the ceiling. Two weeks later I received a bill for 250 dollars..Repairing the plumbing was a part of the bill .The dryer vent job was the other part. I felt the price was highly unfair..I went to home depot .and priced the parts to do the job. They were sixty dollars.That means that 190 dollars was charged for an hours work..I contacted the company and was told they would send me an itemized bill..I never received it..The next thing I got from them was a statement saying I owed them the 250 dollars..There has been no explanation of why it cost this much..Pricing should of been discussed prior to doing the job.Honesty about pricing on weekends would of been appreciated.Ive had lots of jobs done and have given great reviews..On this job Im not happy.

After waiting on another company, called these folks out of South Haven. They came promptly, gave me an estimate on the work, which I accepted, and then did the work immediately. Couldn't ask for more.
