I obtained quotes from 5 different providers and decided to go with Great Lakes. They did a great job, showing up on time, and finishing the job in about 5 hours. They removed the 17-year-old furnace and replaced it with a higher efficiency model. They installed it on a small platform so that it would be off the floor in case of flooding or water backup in the basement. (That had caused my old furnace to rust out on the bottom when the old water heater leaked.) They cleaned everything up and did a great job. This is the third time I have had Great Lakes do work at my house, and they have done a great job every time.

We discovered water leaking through our 1st floor ceiling at about 9pm and shut off the main water supply. We called great Lakes Plumbing and by 9:45 the plumber arrived. He tore out the damaged ceiling drywall and discovered the source of the leak (a toilet with a cracked flange that was also had a leaky flapper) . The water to the toilets was shut off and water to the rest of the house restored. He made an appointment to return the next day to repair the toilet and was out the door by 11p,m. The next day he arrived on time, removed the old flange, laid in a thin layer of quickrete (the flange had not been raised when floors were updated two years previously and the plumber felt the flange needed to be raised to the level of the new flooring), installed the new flange, a new wax ring, replaced the internal tank hardware, laid down silicone sealant and reset the toilet. He then inspected the other upstairs toilet and found that it had the same problems, except that the flange had not yet cracked all the way through. With permission, he repeated the above repairs to the other upstairs toilet. Everything was clean and tidy before he left.

On time. On estimate. Very professional staff on the phone as well as the plumber who installed the water-heater. I have used them in the past for plumbing and heating needs and will continue to use them in the future.

Tyler was very responsive and self directed performing his work. Would ask pertinent questions when needed but definitely did a great job driving towards completion. Many junctions were replaced due to corrosion and leakage and all new shutoffs installed where there were none. Would definitely use again.

As above. On time, came with a big truck, I assume full equipped. friendly, went right at it. took about 5 minutes. Did clean out sink drain while he was there. cleaned up after himself. I haven't needed a plumber in years so I thought a little pricey, but my partner says no, 150 was reasonable. Will definitely use again if needed.

The plumber arrived and he was competent, knowledgable, professional, answered all of our questions. He went above and beyond and showed us how to do things that weren't associated with the presenting issue. Most importantly, he was kind. The bonus was that it was much more affordable than we had anticipated and we didn't need to file a home insurance claim.

I called Great Lakes Plumbing to get information and availability on fixing a leaking bathroom sink. I left a message, which was never returned.

We had two minor gas leaks in our basement--on the main line after it entered the house and at a junction before one line connected to our water heater. Ken was our service provider. He was prompt, professional and pleasant. We had had Consumers out the day before, and they had already found the leaks, labelled them and explained what we needed done, so Ken didn't re-explain. He had to run for parts, but the work was still completed very quickly.

Initially, the tech that came out to the home was friendly, seemingly professional, and frank. He sent a camera down our sewage pipes and found they were the original terra cotta installed in the home, likely when it was built in the late 30's. Since there were cracks, and roots getting in, he made it clear that they'd have to be replaced as snaking the drain may even further collapse the pipes. This was not a repair we were prepared for as I'd just found we were expecting our first child, but the tech assured me that we would be looking at a repair cost of no more than $2500.00. The tech stated he could also do the job on his own, as the depth of the dig was not to the point that he required someone stand-by for safety. Needless to say, this whole repair was a debacle from start to finish. This tech was sloppy at best, making a disaster area of my front yard, leaving no consideration for my garden, pavers, or greenery. He took constant breaks, realizing into the dig that he needed someone present but had difficulty locating staff to come out to the dig. The repair was done within a reasonable time frame, but we couldn't do laundry, dishes, flush toilets, take showers, or anything involving waste water until it was complete. Following the repair, we were billed almost $3500; close to $1000 over the quote price. I found that the company had charged us for the cost of rental of additional equipment. After several phone calls, and much debate with the owner, I was able to recoup my $800 charged for equipment rental. It took another 3-5 weeks for someone to come back out and pour the cement for the front walk, which had been haphazardly covered with ply wood. This was a huge safety risk. The cement was poured, though because the land was refilled poorly, the cement was poured very shottly, and ended up sinking and causing a risk over the winter for falls due to water settling and freezing. The fact of the matter is if this company paid attention to the jobs they were taking on, and were equipped to handle such everyday tasks, this wouldn't have been an issue. This was all-around the worst experience I've had with a plumbing company, bar none.

I noticed my furnace was not producing warm air in the middle of the afternoon on a Friday. I called Great Lakes and they sent a technician (Mark) out right away. Despite the fact that it was late on a Friday, he went to go get the necessary part and installed it. He was very professional and provided a lot of useful information about replacement furnaces (which I will need soon). I have used Great Lakes in the past and they have always been prompt, courteous, and fixed the problems beyond my satisfaction. I would definitely call them again.

The plumber - Tom - showed up on time with the right parts, and completed the job quickly and efficiently. He also took a look at the rest of our plumbing and advised us that everything looked ship-shape. He was pleasant and responsive to all my questions. He cleaned up completely after the work. All in all, it was a fully satisfactory piece of work.

The pipe was leaking from a first floor powder room into the basement. The plumber arrived as scheduled, assessed the problem and made the repair in less than an hour. He was courteous, professional and knowledgeable. I will use Great Lakes Plumbing for any future plumbing needs.

They were able to show up in less than an hour!! Saved me lots of money in the long run since I didn't have to spend money on a hotel to put my tenants in. Keith felt bad about charging me since he did one plunge to fix it, but had to nonetheless. He gave me a few tips on how to avoid problems like that in the future and how to save a bunch of money with a couple of easy tools. Turns out the plunger I had tried was sub-optimal for the clog and he showed me what type I should have and where to get it.

Called the company to schedule an appointment to have them take a look at our plumbing. When I described the conditions of the problem, the company rep was able to troubleshoot the problem with me over the phone and gave me directions on how I could fix it myself. It seems to have worked because I haven't had the problem since. I would easily use this company again for plumbing needs and would recommend them to everyone.

The gentleman was very nice and professional. He did arrive early and the company was supposed to call first, which they didn't, but I was home so it wasn't a big deal. He fixed the clogged sink and then suggested that we run the dishwasher through the garbage disposal (which is normal and ours was not that way). He explained the benefits and when I agreed, he quickly took care of the change. He was efficient and cleaned up the area throughly. I would definitely have them back.

We've used their service for ten years. One of the things I like about them is they will look at a problem and give you upfront pricing with their estimates. They stick to their estimates and there are no surprises. The plumbers are trustworthy, responsible and respectful.

Our water heater quit without warning on a Saturday. After calling around, I settled on Great Lakes in part because of their responsiveness on a weekend and in part because of their professionalism on the phone. The plumber came out on a Saturday evening. It was quite a project getting the old one out of the basement, but he did everything with good humor. He explained in detail what he was doing and why, and left the place clean when he finished.

Called and within two days they were here and got the job done. I am very pleased.

They arrived on time, reviewed the work to be done, set a plan of action and then went to work. They were courteous and professional and knew what to do and how to do it. Price was right where I expected it to be and feel that I got a fair price for excellent work.

I was having a hard time getting local plumbers to keep appointments or to even call me back after a pipe froze and broke in a crawl space under my bathroom. Everyone kept making apologies or excuses about how busy they were during this exceptionally cold winter. I subscibed to and then found Great Lakes on Angies List They were the first to respond and I gave them the job. Overall I was very impressed with the expierence. I have several other remodeling tasks planned for the future and Tom made recommendations that will allow me to do them without additional complications. The work was completed on time and at agreed upon costs, no suprises. I will use this plumber again, my highest recommendation.

I discovered the flood on a Monday evening but opted to have them come out first thing next morning to keep costs down. The installer arrived at 8:15. As it turns out, the space in my laundry room was very small and required extra work, which meant the job took about 3-4 hours. Also meant the cost was more than I had been quoted, but I was okay with that. I have used Great Lakes before and will use them again. I knew that they would not do any dry out or restoration but did get a good recommendation from them.

Lenny, Jim & staff have been awesome with us. Communication has been awesome. If something was missed or needs twirking they're on it in a timely manner-no additional fee. They've also been awesome in helping us with estimates for future work we need to do. They will be our plumber/heat/ac as long as we own our home. Only "complaint" would be we were quoted 500.00 return in federal at tax time and only got 150.00. No big deal. Were happy w our furnace unit

The work was completed in a timely, professional manner. I had several different plumbers come out at different phases of our renovation. Keith came the most frequently, and he was awesome, but all of them are welcome back for any future plumbing problems. The office staff are also friendly and accommodating to my needs. I have recommended Great Lakes and will continue to do so.
