Almost before I knew it, Joe had not only diagnosed the leak but fixed it! I accompanied him as he investigated, and he explained his reasoning and discovery clearly and logically. In this case the source was a poorly installed tub spout, and Joe had an exact match in his truck. He installed it and went on his way, barely half an hour after he'd arrived! Throughout, he was courteous, personable, and generous with information and advice.

e First of all this was a homeowner job gone bad, I called Dependable based on a recommendation from my daughter. He made time the next day - at time specified. He went right to work, cleaned up at each step, treated this old house and inexpensive materials as if they were the best. I am having him do more work for me, and would also highly recommend if you want a professional job. Bonus, he is very personable and knowledgeable of his trade.

Details follow. After moving into our new home, we realized the water was hard leaving reside behind on kitchen/bathroom fixtures. Luckily, we found Joe (Dependable Plumbing) on Angie's List. He quickly scheduled an appointment, stopped by and tested the water confirming it was hard. From there, he recommended a water softener system to treat our specific needs. He promptly scheduled a follow up appointment and installed all the equipment. After installation, he provided an overview of the system explaining how it worked and where to replenish the salt. Several weeks later, I was curious whether the system was working properly. He quickly answered my texts and called saying he would mail several water test strips. Sure enough, the water tested soft confirming everything is working just fine. Price was a bit high versus big box stores, but he convinced us that you get what you pay for....

I thought I just needed a quick fix on a leaky connection from the water softener, and contacted Joe the plumber at Dependable. He was easy to reach and even scheduled the work for the next day. Joe was prompt (actually early!) and a knowledgeable professional. After getting started, he relayed that the plastic components on the bypass valve were cracked beyond repair. Joe explained the options, and it was decided to remove the bypass altogether. Copper was hard piped in its place. The area was cleaned up nicely after, too. Even with the unexpectedly bigger project, Joe was skillful and efficient, with a reasonable charge for the work. I will definitely contact Joe for any future plumbing projects.

It went great! He is professional, courteous, to the point, and explains what he is doing VERY simply. He arrived at my house just before the scheduled appointment time and checked over all the work performed by the previous plumber. His price was very reasonable. Most importantly, I am confident that he is worthy of my trust. I will definately call him again and I suggest him HIGHLY to others. Also, I suggest that when you are reading Angie's List reviews, really read lots of reviews. Some plumbers have a high average but a significant number of seriously low reviews as well. Take that as your warning.

I have used Joe's services in the past and have also referred him to acquaintances. I spoke to him over a week ago about a job at my house and he said he was familiar with the job and would need to come around and get an idea of materials needed, stating he would call me back. He never called back, and it has been over a week, so I have called another company.

Joe is very professional. He arrived 10 minutes early. He kept the job site very clean. He is a very personable young man and was very easy to talk with. He did a first class job and left the sink perfectly clean.

Joe said he would arrive between 2 and 4. He pulled in the driveway at 1:59! Less than an hour later he was done. I had asked for a higher toilet since the standard height was difficult for an older family member. Joe provided exactly what I wanted. He also fixed the small leak in the shutoff valve. When he was done, the bathroom was spic and span. I am completely impressed with Joe. He also put in a water softener for my ex wife and did a superb job. I highly recommend Dependable Plumbing!

The first thing I liked about Dependable was the way Joe responded to my first email. I asked him what brand of softener does he use and what will be the total cost of unit and installation. Joe came back with all the right answers. He gave me the name of the unit , the total cost to install and a date the following week he could do the install. I liked that, there was no," well call me so we can discuss what you might need," he gave me everything I wanted right up front. Joe showed up exactly when he said and he was prepared to go right to work. He removed the old system, cleaned up the old plumbing and re-installed his new unit. Joe was quick, thorough, friendly and very professional. He cleaned up the job site and took all the old equipment with him. I was very impressed by his dedication to his customers and what I really liked was when he gave me the final bill it was exactly what he quoted me in his email. Joe is awesome! I contacted him early in the week to ask him to change out a kitchen faucet for me. I tried to do it myself, but was having some difficulty getting the old faucet out. Joe said he could do the work, but wouldn't be able to schedule me until Friday as he had a busy week. Waiting a few days wasn't a problem on my end, so we set up the appointment for 9:00 am that Friday. I asked him how much he charges for this type of work and he said just a flat $70/hr fee. On Friday morning, Joe pulled into my driveway at 8:45 am. He was prepared (as in he had what he needed to do the job) and got right to work. He was very friendly, but worked the whole time we were talking. At one point he had to run out to his van to get something and I had to smile as I watched him walk across my floor in his sock feet - I hadn't noticed but he had removed his shoes at my front door. (I appreciated this small gesture because I am getting ready to sell my house and have been cleaning like a fiend!) Joe ended up having to cut some pieces to get the old faucet out, but even so got the new one installed and working in less than an hour. I asked him if he had the time could he please caulk my bathroom sink as well as it was sliding all over the place. He gladly did so. It took him literally about 2 minutes and it looks great. So, in summary, Joe showed up when he said he would be there (earlier, even!), did what he said he would do, and charged what he said he would charge. He was prepared, knowledgeable, courteous, professional, and friendly. Even though mine was a fairly small job, I would not hesitate to contact Joe again for any plumbing need I might have, and have already recommended him to two people.

Joe was on time and kept in touch with the water test performed and recommendations. He listened to my desires as to placement and number of faucets hooked up the the newly planned softener. We set a date and he showed up when promised and worked cleanly,. hooked up the new one and removed the old one. He also flushed the hot water heater thoroughly.

This guy is awesome. Showed up on time. got right to work and did it in record time. Super fair on price. I cannot say enough good things. If you need plumbing this is your guy.

Dependable Plumbing Services, LLC has been to our home on (4) occasions. First of all, we are extremely pleased with his punctuality. Second, we are extremely pleased with his efficiency. No wasted movements. On his recent visit, he placed two new toilets complete with wax rings and water supply. In addition, he re-placed a bathroom sink and installed a new drain w/stopper. He rebuilt (6) sink faucets, installed a new tub spout, replaced a valve that was leaking. Next he removed a dishwasher. Lastly, he removed the old water heater and installed a new gas water heater. After the work was accomplished, he inspected the water system from top to bottom to observe for any possible water leaks. While he was at our home, I engaged him in multiple conversations, and he was very personable. What struck me as refreshingly important, even though we were talking, he never once stopped working. The owner, Joe Kerns, is very efficient and very organized. The cost for all of his work amounted to:$1190. That is a very competitive price for that amount of work. I wouldn't even consider calling anyone else for plumbing help. I would heartily recommend him for any plumbing work you may have.

Day 1 he busted up the concrete and dug down to bury the new drain pipes. He also provided and installed the 41 gallon basin/pump. He then filled in the affected areas with new concrete. On top of all this he hauled away the excess dirt/busted up concrete pieces and swept up the debris. Day 2 Joe came back and set the tub and surround. He also piped the vent as well as the sewage pump and connected it to the existing waste line. Finally he prepped for running the water lines. Day 3 Joe connected the shower valve and faucet (which could not be done the previous day due to missing parts from the box that I provided). He then ran the new water lines to the shower, vanity, toilet and utility sink (which I asked for on a shared wall). Finally he tested the system and clean up so you could never tell he was even there. Joe has to come back when I finish the floor, ceiling, drywall and electrical in the bathroom so he can put the fixtures in (toilet, vanity/sink and shower head). I especially like that Joe was fine working with me, a DIY homeowner who is finishing his own basement while working a full time job. He was not deterred that I won?t get the above tasks done for a few months, he gets it and said just to let him know when I do get to that point and he will come out and finish up his work. Something else that stood out to me is despite doing a lot of research on what he would need from me when setting the tub and surround I missed two studs for nailing the end of the tub surround too. Joe installed those himself without even mentioning that I missed them. He would have been justified to say that I needed to get those installed before he could continue but instead he fixed it himself to keep everything moving along. Finally on the last day he told me how he would drywall around the surround (in a way that I had not thought of), this will save me a lot of hassle was another example of how Joe cares about the project as a whole and not just his portion of the job. Joe has exceptional people skills and is very respectful of both you and your house. His quality of work is top notch and he does not mind explaining things to someone like me that is eager to learn what, how or why he does things as he does.

Joe is an extremely smart, skilled, and thorough professional who helped us get to the bottom of our water problems. First, he came out and explained to me how the original system had been installed incorrectly. By the time he was done, I felt like i had learned a lot of valuable information, and if I ever buy another house, I'll know just what to look for when it comes to water filtration systems. Next, he provided a timely quote (the next day via email). His quote was a nearly $700.00 less than what had been quoted to me by a large Kalamazoo plumbing company. On the day of the install, Joe was in and out in under 3 hours, and he left our basement area spotless. I will alway use Joe for my plumbing needs; I highly recommend him -- and trust me, I am very, very picky.

Joe was prompt professional and courteous. He responded well when my husband requested changes during the process and explained and showed me what he was doing all along the way. My water smelled of sulfur and tasted like iron. Plain and simple, it was unpleasant to say the least. I did quite a bit of research and shopped around before buying anything. I received several estimates and most were from sales people who would not do the actual work. I chose Dependable Plumbing Services for several reasons. First, I like dealing locally and try to as much as I can. Second, Joe came out to the house to look at the job himself. He recommended re-routing some existing piping for the softener discharge along with the installation of the new iron filter. Third and what impressed me the most, Joe seemed enthused to do the work. He took a look at the job, figured out how he would get the work done and he let me know what it would take. I was very pleased with how professional and friendly Joe was. He and his assistant, Tom, came to the house on time and worked quickly and took the time to let me know what was going on. There was a lot of re-piping involved and it all went very well. A few days after the installation, I had some questions and Joe and Tom came back to the house to look into it. The end result is I am very pleased. Dependable Plumbing Services is very professional, reasonably priced, prompt and courteous. I would highly recommend them.

We used Dependable Plumbing to replace an aged water heater at my mom's house in Paw Paw. Living in Georgia, it was a challenging task researching companies that we could depend on to do the job remotely and accept payment after the fact. How thrilled we were to find Joe! He is trustworthy, reliable, courteous and he places a high value on safety. As it turns out, the old water heater was a fire hazard with an assortment of issues that needed to be addressed. The new water heater that Joe installed in just a few hours is top of the line and improves energy efficiency in a very old home. My mom loves it and in the 20+ years she's lived in that house, she no longer has to wait for the water to get hot. She's very happy and that makes us happy. I strongly recommend Dependable Plumbing and will use them again should my mom have any other plumbing needs.

I called Joe about replacing a toilet and left a message on his voice mail. 5 minutes later he called me back. I explained my situation and Joe asked some questions and the work was scheduled. He arrived early and was very professional. The product he installed and the work he did was very high quality. He removed his shoes when entering my home and cleaned up the work area when he was done. The price was quite a bit lower than what others charge. I have used several different plumbers over the years and none are even close to the professionalism, quality of work and price of what Joe offers. In the future I won't be using anybody but Joe.

Quick, clean, cheerful I would recommend to anyone looking for a plumber and I am not easily impressed nor give out recommendations lightly.

1. Dependable Plumbing (Joe) inspected my water softener. There is not much else to say here, but said it was still in working order and gave advice on how to extend the life of the machine. He can replace or repair the unit when needed, but it is just fine for now. 2. Inspected and flushed my 16 year old water heater. Took time to look at the condition of the heater and make sure that it was safe to flush. He inspected the water as it came out of the heater to see how it looked and smelled. Said for its age, was in really good shape. Water came out fairly clean and had no sulfur odor.
