New Image Remodeling

This project went amazingly well . It was gratifying to have true professionals doing work they enjoy. This was not only apparent in the management but carried through the entire crews (even the young ones). They are not afraid to ask specific questions or make suggestions on how something should be done. I have shown their work to several of my friends that are amazed at how this old building took on a new life with the renovations. I could list each person by name that worked on this project as they all did excellent work but would run out of space and time. I will state though it has been gratifying to have found a company that still provides excellent work based on a realistic and reasonable price. Yes I would recommend this company to anyone; and plan on using them again .

Outstanding! I felt like I had known them for years. I had a tight budget and an even tighter timetable in which to do the project. I had over 10 estimates, and New Image took the time and talked to me about options while other companies told me how it had to be. Loved having a voice in the conversation. Also best price. At least one person was here everyday working. On top of that one of theowners (Adam) stopped by 7 out of 9 days to keep communication going and checking on progress. True professionals, met the deadline and stayed on budget. Don’t know what else I could have wanted. Already talking to them about the next project!

Jim and his team were great to work with. Any issues were handled quickly. They made sure we got what we wanted and made sure we were happy with the work being done.

Overall, work went well. There was a few set backs along the way but nothing major. Jim kept us informed of project time frame and progression. I appreciated the flexibility in working with them on portions of the remodel. I was able to do all the demo myself, along with all painting. Jim, Tom, and John were all great to work with.

I can't say enough good things about Tom and his crew. The work is excellent and was done in a very timely manner. He kept me updated during every step of the project. Will definitely call again for any future projects.

It went very well. We were up against a hard deadline of three weeks between the time we purchased the house and when we had to move in. Jim made sure that the work was done within that time frame and was very responsive through e-mail to all our questions. He is easy to talk to, professional and polite.

Fantastic. Jim had great ideas and suggestions when he first scoped out the project. He uses very reliable contractors and all of them were very professional. The end result is even better than I could have imagined. And there were no surprises related to costs. Jim provided me with copies of all supplier invoices and he finished right on budget.

Jim and his crew did a great job with my remodeling project. Jim was always quick to return my calls or texts and was always on time when meetings were scheduled. Jim gave suggestions based on his experience which really helped me start to have a vision of what I wanted accomplished. The work was very professional. Overall, I am happy with the finished bathroom. My outdated brown and gold bathroom is now a beautiful gray and white. It makes me happy just to walk in there! I would hire Jim again. He's a trustworthy person who did everything he could to make this project go well.

Tom and his associates were wonderful craftsman to work with. The estimates were accurate, the work completed in a timely manner, and the communication during the project was superb. Each of the suppliers we were referred to (ProSource, West Michigan Lumber, Tile Shop, Styles Stone Designs) carefully listened to our ideas, offered great advice, did not pressure us in any way, and delivered the materials/services on schedule. On the rare occasions when problems arose, Tom took care of them very quickly. We could not have been more pleased with the total experience. Five Stars!!

Tom Roels and Jim Hendriksma are top notch in assessing the job and offering a more than fair price. New Image was on time, they performed above and beyond and had an excellent work ethic. We will be calling them in the future for any other work needed. It is almost impossible nowadays to find someone who you can trust - to do a job with pride and accountability - and we recommend them to anyone who wants to have a job well done.

Tom and Jim were great to work with, offering helpful suggestions whenever asked and quick to respond to my phone calls. Very professional and drew up a contract. They were able to begin the remodel earlier than expected. All the contractors were genuinely nice, did a good job, cleaned up after they worked and were patient with my 2 dogs. I especially appreciated their paint contractor Mark who prioritized me into his schedule, worked quickly and did a great job.. Tom and John also did an excellent job reworking my cabinets, adding beautiful crown moldings and creating an island. Overall I am very pleased and would highly recommend New Image Remodeling.

John and Tom made the whole process easy for us. And fun! They were professional and kind, trustworthy and reliable. When there were unforeseen issues, Tom and John resolved them patiently and efficiently. They worked with us to make this remodel perfect. We would recommend New Image Remodeling to anyone and everyone... and we are already scheming about more renovations we want to do in the future!

Although there were a few delays (not their fault and not usual), Jim kept on top of things. He even managed to finish when, unexpectedly, our son and his family came to stay with us for a while. We are very pleased with the result. Communication was great ,with my messages and emails being answered promptly. Jim listened to all of our wants carefully and even made some helpful suggestions. Everyone was courteous and friendly. All the guys working on our remodel seemed to take pride in their work and showed it by doing a good job. All in all a very positive experience.

We couldn't be happier. We got several quotes and went with New Image. The remodel turned out even better than imagined. Jim listened carefully, under-promised and over-delivered, respected our modest budget, kept within the estimate except where authorised on a couple changes, and showed up early and finished early! What more could we want. We had the added challenge that we were out of the state while the work was being done, so we put a lot of faith in Jim and his team, handing them the key and coming back after they were finished -- and they were really proven trustworthy. One tiny minor issue with a ceiling fan was sorted out less than 24 hours after reporting. Everything turned out exactly like we wanted it. Really high quality work on a major project in our old house, for our budget, and we're thrilled.

The whole process from start to finish ( March-June) was handled so professionally and thoroughly. We are thrilled with the outcome. The quality of craftsmanship, organization, and attention to detail is amazing. These guys don't mess around, nor do they cut corners. We had a tight-time frame in which all the work needed to be completed, and Jim made it happen. I have never worked with such professional and honest people. I could not be happier!

Tear out done in one day ~ March 28, 2016. May 13, 2016 job was completed ~ All cabinetry replaced, 3 wood floors refinished and remaining rooms premium vinyl, all rooms painted, 75% molding replaced, stand by generator added, LED lighting put into kitchen, dinette, hallway, living room and bathrooms along with exhaust fans in the bathrooms. New door handles, air vents and registers, counter tops, back splashes, toilets, mirrors, sinks and bathtub. Bathroom door enlarged to allow for wheelchair or walker. I believe there was only one day out of the 7 weeks that I did not have somebody at the house working!! Worth every moment and dollar when the job was complete! GREAT group of people to work with!! A definite HIGH recommendation from me!!

If you are looking for a company to do a remodel or construction, I have one bit of advice for you: Get yourselves on Jim's work list as fast as possible, because this company is so excellent that they are going to be backed up for months. Word is spreading about New Image Remodeling, and that word is, "Integrity". This is a quality highly sought after and difficult to find in this day and age. Our project was daunting in many ways. We purchased an old underground home and wanted (needed) to completely gut it and re-do everything. Particular problems were: How to wire in new ceiling lights when the ceiling is concrete with no attic space and the homeowner doesn't want a dropped ceiling; How to run new plumbing when the floors and walls are concrete with no crawl space; How to hide wiring and venting when concrete walls and ceilings provide no access; How to assess and mitigate roofing problems when there are two feet of dirt on top of the roof connected to mansard roof lines. And perhaps most difficult of all for a construction company: How to deal with homeowners who were penny pinchers and wanted to do a good bit of the work themselves. We actually had two other companies who would not work with us because we planned to do the tiling, some electric, all the painting, etc. (to be clear we have renovated several homes, but still it could be difficult to work things out). When we had our first meeting with Jim, I worried that the scope of the project might cause him doubt. But in his calm and considerate way, he took it all in stride and I could see that his wheels were already turning to figure out the puzzles that the house presented. Throughout the project the communication was excellent. Jim stayed in close contact, let me know well ahead of time when workers would be showing up, pushed the schedule up whenever possible, and called or emailed back within hours when I had questions or concerns. When we decided to purchase our own bathroom fixtures, shower, vanity, toilets, rather than have the company provide them, it was no problem at all. When I decided to add more work and new ideas to the list, no problem. When I deleted work from the list, no problem. The contractors he provided were among the best in their fields and their work was excellent. Every last one of them were punctual, polite and efficient. They became friends and I missed them when they left. New Image started the project ahead of schedule, finished ahead of schedule, and came in under budget. Jim presented us with a final review before the final payment, laying out the (many) changes we had requested, and deducted charges where we had deleted work or purchased our own supplies or fixtures. Honesty. You can trust this guy. To sum it up, our remodel experience with New Image was...enjoyable! How often do you hear that about construction or remodel? Jim and his company have our deepest thanks and complete faith. We will definitely be contacting him again when we move into "stage two" of the project in a year or two. I would recommend them to everyone I know, and Jim is welcome to use us as a reference if asked. So stop researching, friendly reader, and call him now. Seriously. He's booked out for months.

I was very pleased with the results. New Image remodeling did exactly what they said they would do and at a fair price. They completed their work before agreed upon completion date. I was so pleased with their work, I kept adding side projects to the original proposal and they still finished early. New Image Remodeling made sure I was completely satisfied with their work before final payment. I will use New Image Remodeling again for future remodeling projects.

We would highly recommend New Image Remodeling for any building or remodeling project. Our bathroom was literally crumbling and they have made it beautiful! New Image Remodeling is honest, fair, professional, reasonably priced, in contact throughout the project, had great contractors who did excellent work, and they were a joy to work with. By the end of the project, I knew Jim very well and felt like I was losing a friend when they were done. We just can't say enough good things about New Image Remodeling! In the following paragraphs are examples of their outstanding management and work on our project. We were referred to New Image Remodeling though a friend who'd had several projects done by New Image Remodeling. We decided to try their company We've had other builders do projects and were very unhappy with the process as well as the lack of communication. The project details were not followed up on or finished. We stopped in the New Image Remodeling office one day and talked with Jim and then made an appointment for him to come to our house to see what needed to be done. Jim was very friendly and knowledgeable and made many suggestions of what we could do. He came back very quickly with an estimate. We had another appointment in our home where he presented the quote and he discussed every aspect of the project and answered the questions we had. The quote was reasonable and within the budget we had given him. Here again he was very friendly and easy going, not pressuring us to make a decision. We signed the contract and he told us when we would be in the company's schedule. About a month before New Image was going to start, Jim called us to see how we were doing on selecting the materials to be installed. We had not understood exactly when we were supposed to start the selection process, so we had done nothing at that point. Looking back we remembered he did say when we signed the contract that we needed to start looking for materials. He gave us a name of Mary Jo at West Michigan Lumber to help us with selection. Mary Jo was a godsend. She was very professional and knew exactly how to guide us through the process. We had several visits, phone calls and emails. She also solved many problems especially the ones caused by our starting late in selecting materials. She was very kind and patient with us (even tho' I had changed my mind several times, had many doubts and second guessing about our selections, and was nervous that we had selected the right materials). It happened we went over the budget in the contract, and Jim was very kind and reassuring that he would make the financial adjustments and that it was not a big deal. We did not purchase the tub, shower, toilet and hardware through New Image due to the fact that we had worked with a salesperson at a plumbing showroom for several months before we hired New Image and felt that the salesperson had put a lot of effort into helping us make choices and we wanted them to have the sale. Jim had no problem with us going somewhere else. In fact we had the flooring and sidewalls of the shower/tub area chosen with companies New Image did not work with and we had no problem with New Image regarding these purchases. Jim called us a couple weeks ahead of the start date to give us a heads-up so we could prepare. We were very pleased because we had to do a lot to get ready. The project started when Jim said it would. I had a lot of questions and was nervous about a lot of issues along the way and Jim kept in touch with us through phone conversations and a few emails. He called back the same day which we were really impressed by. The contractors New Image used were awesome. They were friendly and answered questions knowledgeably and patiently. They offered suggestions when we asked and guided us through placements of fixtures, curtain rod, mirror and more. The tradesmen who worked in our home called ahead of time to tell us when they could be here and if there was a conflict in the time worked with us to come within a day or so when we could not be there. They were very flexible and accommodating. All the contractors cleaned up before they left even if they'd be back the next day. We were very impressed with that. Jim kept in touch with us and the contractors throughout the process to make sure everything was going well. There were very few surprises or call backs along the way. If there was a need for a change of how we thought something was going to be done and how it was done, we just called Jim and he contacted the contractor and problem solved! Jim came to the house several time to review how things were going. When the project was finished to our satisfaction we met with him to go over the costs of the projects. He had made revisions in cost for each category where we went over budget or had purchased materials somewhere else. It was a very detailed document and we felt there was no concern of a vague billing as we have had in the past. Since we had purchased several materials outside New Image Remodeling and had paid for them ourselves, we knew we were going over budget as we went along. New Image (Jim) explained the bill in great detail and we felt New Image was being honest, fair and again reasonable in cost. Thank you New Image Remodeling for a job well done!

We could not be happier with the quality and value of the services provided by New Image Remodeling. We set out to remodel and update our kitchen, They were able to make suggestions that both aesthetically and functionally improved on our original ideas. I had some very specific requests, and the custom cabinets they fashioned for me are terrific! Every step of the way they communicated clearly the activities that would occur, and kept us apprised of developments when necessary. I always felt confident that the subcontractors they sent would be punctual, knowledgeable and professional. The new kitchen they provided us exceeds our original expectations. It is beautiful, modern and efficiently functional. I have already recommended them to several of my friends. If you hire them, I am certain you will be glad you did.

We were very satisfied with the job done by NIR. Even though it was a relatively small job they were willing to work with us and allow us to contribute to the level of our ability and time. This included the willingness to consider and adapt to newer design concepts that we wanted to incorporate into the project. Because we could be flexible with the timing and scheduling of our project they were able to work our job into their schedule much earlier than if they had had to preschedule each component into one larger block of time. We appreciated this flexibility. We are very happy with how our bathroom turned out!

Excellent from start to finish. We'd hire them again without reservation. Jim showed up, listened carefully to what we wanted, took careful notes on what we said, spending almost two hours with us to better understand our plans. Throughout the whole process Jim made sure things were moving along and that we were satisfied with the job as it progressed. All Jim's workers were careful and friendly. I was particularly impressed with the materials used. They were beyond expectations. The room is finished now, and is exactly what we had in mind when we first started. We love it. Everyone who sees it loves it. Outstanding service and workmanship. We are so glad we went with New Image.

Our job went great from quote to finish. Jim from New Image is a great listener and very responsive. We knew what we wanted, but we didn't know exactly how to do it. Jim was able to take our goals and come back to us with great ideas on how we could fit a new garage addition into the space that we had. He creatively solved several design challenges and it resulted in a fantastic looking addition. We are very pleased and would not hesitate to hire Jim and his team again in the future.

We were comfortable with Jim, Tom and John from the start. Jim was a good listener and cared about what our goals were and was very upfront and honest when it came to costs.
