Dave was very professional and complete in his assessment of the work that needed to be done. He provided pictures of the issue on the roof when explaining the issue. He was punctual, professional and a delight to deal with. This extends to the service I received in making the appointment and having it confirmed ahead of time.

I had a good experience with the quote from Above Roofing although it took more than 3 weeks to get a quote after the first conversation. However, their quoted cost was thousands more than a competitor using the same product. A close second in our case. Thanks for the quote.

Robert was the most thorough salesperson I have met!I called him because his company had a great reputation & now that my work is complete I can see why.His crew foreman & crew were excellent,polite & professional.My vast gardens remained unharmed in the process & the guys left things immaculate!My neighbor had just recently gotten a new roof & the difference in the workers"demeanor was significant.I highly recommend this company.

Jay came out to provide the quote. He answered all my questions satisfactorily and explained what the flat roof entailed. The price was consistent with other quotes received. Jay stated he is certified in flat roofing, that the materials and work are guaranteed. I received a phone call in advance notifying me when to expect the crew and how long the job would take. They arrived on time and completed the job in a timely manner. The crew cleaned up after completion of the work and called to notify me that the work was done. I am very satisfied with the job and would hire them again.

The guys that actually provided the work were excellent. They had an incredible work ethic. They were great communicators and very clear in terms of it might rain tomorrow so they might not be there. They were very good at communicating every day and working very hard. When they initially came out to look at the roof and give me an assessment, they knew their stuff. I was really impressed with that. My only hesitation with the company was that they did a very poor job in communicating with my insurance company. The roof was a result of some storm damage. If there was anything different than was discussed, he was supposed to get that cleared ahead of time and we were supposed to sign a waiver to do that. He never did that. He went ahead and did the roof and did different things so it has kind of been a nightmare to get things covered because they went ahead and did things without asking for permission. When I tried to communicate about that, I got complete silence from the company. That was really frustrating that they didn't get things cleared ahead of time. I had no concerns with the job and the clean up was done well. I didn't get a lot of comparisons because it was with the insurance company but I thought the price was relatively comparable. I would consider using them again because of the quality of the work.

Nothing, that is the problem. Incredibly hard to get a hold of. I have called five times in the last three days and every time I have been sent to voicemail. I left a voicemail once and it took a few days to call back. She received my voicemail and stated that they were incredibly busy. I have then tried to call back and five times I have received voicemail.

They're amazing! They actually inspected the inside of the roof first and gave an estimate before beginning work. They were honest, fast, and cleaned up the whole yard afterwords.

My first interaction with Robert, the owner, was during the inspection and estimate. I knew my roof would be needing replaced so I got moving on an estimate during the winter. Despite the cold weather and snow, Robert got on my roof and in my attic to inspect the situation. He concurred that this was the time to re-roof. Robert gave me three recommendations of materials, and also options for warranty coverage. We ended up selecting a run-of-the-mill shingle, with an upgraded warranty, for better transferability to a future buyer of our home. We delayed quite a bit on selecting our color, but once we committed to our choice of color, it was only a few weeks and we were getting a new roof! The process of getting the new roof was very easy. I got advance notice of the start date, and I got communication both over the phone and via email with the company. The day of, the crew arrived around 8am and started right away on the tear-off. I talked with the crew and they seemed very competent and confident, so I left for work. When I arrived back home, the roof was all torn off, all repairs completed, and half of the roof was finished! The next day the crew got right to work in the morning again, and by 5pm the dumpster had already been taken away. I am very impressed with not only the quality of the finished product, but the extreme professionalism of this company. All the places that you see on TV are just booking agents for an unknown roofing installer. Above Roofing only uses their own, directly-hired installers. All the crew work for Above Roofing, and they are drug-tested and background-checked. Our neighbors actually commented to us on how quiet, neat, and professional the crew was that installed our roof. Roofing is NOT a quiet trade, but these guys kept me in good graces with my neighbors. I know that at least one of my neighbors has already signed with Above to get their roof done, based on their observations at my house. The only unexpected thing that I encountered is that I had more damage on my roof than I or Robert could tell. Once the tear-off was complete, his crew found that many more sheets of plywood were needed. I discussed repairs with Robert during his estimating, and these repairs were beyond what could be seen. I ended up paying a little more to have more plywood replaced. But I see this as a positive. His crew refused to re-roof on plywood that would not have held up for another 40 years. Lots of other roofers out there would have covered it up and in a few years the issue would be really bad. I am so happy that his crew did all the repairs necessary. His crew also found two corners of my roof that were totally rotted out, and they completely re-framed those as needed as well. I am so happy with my new roof. I get absolutely nothing from recommend Above Roofing, however I will do so whenever I can. I can sleep well at night when it rains now, I know there will be no leaks!

David, an estimator with Above Roofing, was scheduled at 12 noon. He arrived at 11:59am. I explained the problem (water leaking in the area of the chimney, discoloring drywall ceiling in living room). I also showed him where wood fascia and soffit was rotted near the roof valley in the front and back. He climbed up on the roof, and took pictures. We went into the attic, and looked at the chimney. David was very professional and advised me like an independent consultant. In other words, he didn't try to sell me unnecessary work, or upsell me in any way. He actually suggested a quick-DIY way that I could delay the fix until I needed a new roof in 5 years. He also thought the water problem wasn't exactly a roof problem, but a chimney problem, and advised that I talk to a chimney specialist before making a decision on the reflashing work. In total, he spent a couple hours (didn't seem that long at all) at my house. He answered all my questions. For the rotted wood fascia and soffits, he said he would quote it, but it wasn't their main line of work. Also, if they fixed it, they wouldn't paint it. In other words, he was implying that I'd probably get better value with a handyman for that particular portion of the job, but they could still do it. I appreciated that advice. At my request, he referred me to a handyman that has gotten good feedback. The quotes for gutters and misc repair work were all reasonable, in my opinion. So, even though they haven't done any work yet, the experience so far was prompt, professional, customer-focused, and honest. Above Roofing is definitely going to the top of my list for all my roofing needs, and I will refer them as well.

Great! They completely removed the ice jams from the back of the house, and cut channels into the ice jams along the side of the house. There was a small misunderstanding at first, but they came out quickly after clarification of what I wanted done and completed the job. I would use them again.

From the estimating process through the execution of the project Above Roofing was prompt, professional and personable. The completed the job in a very timely manner and cleaned up after themselves so that no trace was left. I would highly recommend this contractor.

They were able to come out for an estimate within a couple days of calling. We decided to go with Above Roofing and they had their crew out within a few days of letting them know to fix the issue. They also told us the roof should replaced in the next few years. We will definitely be using Above Roofing when the times comes to replace the roof.

I had no issues with the estimator or repair team. They let me know when they would be out there and when the project was done.

I cannot say enough good about Robert and his crew (Tommy especially). They are prompt, helpful, knowledgeable, and friendly. We had them come out to remove ice and snow on our roof during in January (ice damming) and also to give us an evaluation of our roofing/ventilation/insulation issues in the spring 2014. Robert was very patient with us, explaining every detail (sometimes more than once) to both myself and my husband. We had just bought our home in the fall of 2013 and we are still learning all the in's and out's of our new-to-us (1970's ranch) home, and Robert was very thorough when walking our roof and going in our attic. The only reason we did not choose to use them was that they were a bit out of our budget at this time in our lives, but I have no doubt that they would have done an exceptional job for us. If you're gathering estimates, please do consider Above Roofing - they won't let you down.

They came and took care of it. The cost was only $150 which was great because I thought it would be much more. I have asked them to come back in the spring for a whole roof evaluation.

Owner gave me an estimate-He was prompt and explained everything they needed to do-made me feel confident I was hiring the right company! The workers came on time-explained what they were going to do-very polite and professional. Took before, during and after pictures (I loved that!) so I could see what was done on my roof.

Noticed a water stain on the second story ceiling so called around to 5 roofing companies in GR to find someone to come out and resolve it. 3 of 5 were not taking any business (very bad winter in GR this year). One had a week-long wait time. But Above was able to be out in just 2 business days. The crew of two arrived at 8 and loaded ladders to the house and chiseled off the snow and ice for about an hour. There was some confusion about the proper location for their work on the roof. I had to show them several times where we needed the work done. But the crew was friendly and helpful. I am impressed that Above is big enough and efficient enough to get crews out during such a bad winter. It gives me confidence that they would be able to follow-through and deliver on another project if we should need them in the future.

From the initial meeting to the final result, we knew we were in good hands. We had a bad experience with another roofing company and felt very comfortable with our decision to use Above Roofing. They are a very busy company (which is a good thing!) but phone calls and emails were returned promptly. The crew that replaced our roof was timely and friendly. They cleaned up after themselves and let me know when the job was complete. And they fixed our roof leak!

Robert Freeman and his crew were responsive, professional and did an outstanding job. Although the cost of the project was more than we expected (although I did have a feeling a lot of the roof deck needed replacement which was not in the estimate) They were honest and forthright in their dealings with the situation. I would not hesitate to hire them again (although I hope it won't be necessary to need them for another 25-30 years!) |

I called Above Roofing because they were listed here on Angie's list as #1 in our area. Also, a friend at work recommended them highly. Most likely, we need a complete tear-off and a new roof. Our roof is currently leaking. Unfortunately, the woman who answered the phone said they are not taking any repair jobs unless Above Roofing did the work originally. I emphasized that it is more likely a replacement, not just a repair, but it made no difference. So much for help when you need it!

I wasn't surprised that he found a lot of problems. I was, however, surprised at how through he was. We got multiple pictures and a thorough explanation of each defect. We were going to have Above make some repairs because we'd tried to get the first company to do it and they refused. Then we found out the warranty from the other company would be invalidated if we did. So they didn't repair anything, but I was very impressed with the thoroughness of what they did do. The technician was very polite, personable, and respectful, by which I mean he didn't talk down to us. If we weren't reluctant to lose what little the original warranty gives us, we'd have Above back here in a heartbeat.

Salesman was very helpful, explained all our options. We ended up needing manually placed insulation in/around edges of roof keeping all the vents "open" and filling in the rest of the attic with blown in insulation. Co. called day before appt. to remind us the install crew would be arriving at 8:00 AM. At 8:00 the next day we got a call from the crew saying they would not be arriving until 9:00. They arrived at 9:45. Not a great first impression and I was nervous about how the job would progress. I shouldn't have been. Brad and crew were extremely professional and honest with us. He had a question about the best way to install a section and rather then guess or bluff his way through (we wouldn't have known the difference), he explained his dilemma and called several contractors to ensure he was making the best decision for us. This took him extra time and the answer required additional labor, neither of which increased our estimate total. Everyone we dealt with acted with integrity, showed great customer service skills, and we are already noticing a difference in how the house holds heat/cool air. We would definitely recommend Above Roofing to family and friends!

They gave me a lot of information and I liked the way they vented my roof. I felt comfortable going with them. They did an all-around good job and cleaned up well. I was quite pleased with them.

They were pleasant to deal with and I think that they did a good job as far as I can see but as I say time will tell. There's a guarantee on their work for the life of the roof. They were pleasant to work with, they seem to know what they were doing, they were not intrusive, they clean the side up really well and you hardly wouldn't know that they were there and they were prompt in getting the job done. There were 2 people that came to the site to the repair, they seem to have a lot of expertise and they were very personable and polite people. They were on and off the site with hardly creating any disturbance at all. We are generally satisfied with dealing with the people and with their work so far. I assume the leak is fixed but we haven't had any heavy rains and I think it would probably take a winter time because I think the leak was probably be caused by the ice build up so I think it's an ice issue, so when you get ice on the roof you understand how that works, the water backs up under the shingles and then persists a leak into the house and drip down through the insulation and eventually into the drywalls creating some steam. The way they repaired it and the way they explain the repair, I think that it would probably resolve it. The other thing I like about them is that the other roofing companies that we had to come out to look at it told us that we needed a new roof and this is the one company that came out and told us that we didn't need a new roof, they didn't think for at least 10 years and that they could fix it and it was obviously far less expensive to repair than to replace the entire roof on the house and the house itself is not that old. It was built in 2000 so it's only a 13-year old house and we shocked to think that it needed a $16,000 to $18,000 roof which was the range of the estimates in getting to replace the entire roof so obviously we were quite happy to have it repaired for $2,000. It is yet to be seen whether or not the insurance company will pay for that, I was thinking that they might, I would check on it.
