Mr. Handyman of Greater Grand Rapids

Appointment was for 8:30 AM on Saturday 8/17/13. However company called and had an opening for approx 3:00PM today. Jason came out and fixed the bathroom exhaust fan switch. He also advised us to replace all the switches and outlets as they are old.

Mr. Handyman of Greater Grand Rapids was excellent.

It seems there was some miscommunication on the original estimate, which caused the estimate to be well under the actual amount of hours it should have taken. And the contractor was an extreme perfectionist, so that took longer than was really necessary for the value of my condo. But when I was frustrated with the increasing hours, the owner contacted me and we talked through my frustration and came to an agreement we could both live with. As a first timer in hiring contractors, a little advice: be very specific about what you want, even to the point of annoyance so that you are both on the same page. Also let them know the expectation level: do you need a super high quality job or can you settle for adequate? And ask a ton of questions so that you understand why something is taking longer than you think so that you can understand the process.

Fabulous, they worked with our schedules and were very creative in figuring out how to get a slider to fit in a small area. They were professional, the work was topnotch and the price was very reasonable. Having used them since then, they have referred great people for tuckpointing and painting. Definitely using them again.

Mr. Handyman was scheduled to arrive between 1:30 and 2:00 p.m. John arrived at 1:35 p.m. and was very personable. I was concerned he might not be able to hang two of the mirrors by himself, but he said he would try to hang them on his own. He had the first mirror hung in fifteen minutes. He spent the next hour hanging the towel hardware and the over the toilet cabinet. After re-assessing the other two mirrors, he called dispatch for another worker to help (this was 3;35). He went to Lowe's to pick up hardware for one of the mirrors. When he returned 15 minutes later, the other worker arrived. They worked together to hang the two window blinds and the two mirrors and finished up around 5:45 p.m. or so. I didn't feel either John or the other worker took too long with each job; they did the work carefully and professionally, however, I felt the $400 charge was too high. In future, if I use Mr. Handyman again, it will be for a job that is less diverse and definitely for a shorter timeframe.

The CEO of this company responded promptly to my request for service. Although I have not yet scheduled service to be performed by this company, I plan to in the future because of the provider's responsiveness and professionalism. I expect that the services will be performed as professionally as the response and will write a further review once services are contracted and performed. The perceived urgency of the services for which I contacted this company has abated, and I have other financial priorities to address before the services I plan to contract with this company.

Bob was so very polite! He was extremely careful to have shoe covers on each time he entered the house. He asked permission before using the utility sink to wash his brushes/rollers. He saw what parts were needed for the kitchen cabinet doors and purchased them, bringing them back on his second visit and installing them. He did lots of patching/painting sheetrock. He patched and painted wood shoe molding. He went way beyond what we had expected to be done. I can highly recommend him and will certainly use this company again for odd handyman jobs. The lady at the office was also very polite an gracious.

They were with me all the way. They also came to my home to inspect how the work was being done.

I called the week before to make sure they would pick up the medicine cabinet from the store and dispose of the old one. There was an extra fee for this but it was only $5 more than renting a truck and paying a disposal fee. On the day of installation, they picked up the medicine cabinet from the store and brought it inside to replace the old one. The technician, Bob, arrived promptly and began work. After surveying the site, he knew exactly what to do. He completed the job in a timely manner and wore shoe protectors that were not filthy. The work area was cleaned. . The price was within the amount quoted and the 10 percent off coupon for being an Angie's List member really helped. Overall, I was very satisfied with the workmanship and price.

John was excellent. Worked quickly,did a great job and took on some extras that we asked while he was here.

Excellent workmanship and very fast response. A little more expensive than I would have liked but I was happy with the work.

He was prompt, very friendly, knew what he was doing and was thorough. I would call on this company in a heartbeat. When I originally called, the service call was scheduled right then and they got me in right away, I needed that! I was very impressed and will use them again in the future.

The gentleman who came out to the house was extremely pleasant, knowledgable and efficient. He did what would have taken me days to do in just a few hours. The quality of the work was outstanding. I was very impressed.

They were fantastic. We were in the middle of selling our house. So, we had projects that needed to be done, but I had to reschedule them probably three or four times for various things and they were very nice about it, very professional, and worked around the house. We are definitely gonna use them.

I called Mr. Handyman in the morning for installing 2 ceiling fans. The lady who answered the phone was very friendly and professional. And I was very happy that she could find someone to work on the same afternoon. She sent me the detail of what we talked about through an e-mail right away. About 30 minutes prior to the handyman's arrival, someone in the office called and informed. The handyman came on time, and he did his job done quicker than what he estimated. I'm glad that I found this company thru Angie's List, and happy to report another satisfying job report.

It went very smoothly. He worked the whole time, and had all the tools he needed. He supplied us with his professional opinion, but never put any pressure on us. He even cleaned up after himself. We were very happy with the quality of work.

Repairman arrived promptly at 8:00 am. He accessed the problems we had and got right to work. I was very impressed with his work and the end results. We are older and no longer are able to tackle these jobs ourselves and I believe Mr. Handyman is definitely the answer for our home repairs. I am already starting my next list for them to do!! We are completely pleased with every aspect of the work - the quality, timeliness, and professionalism. We are compiling a list to have them come back and do more work. Definitely worth the cost!

I spent about $600 for their services. The job went very well. The guy showed up on time and he did quality work. I would definitely use their services in the future too.

They were excellent. They were very professional and I was totally pleased with them. They were on time, they did the job, and they tried to save money wherever possible which is appreciated.

I asked the person who answered the phone (who odentified herself as one of the owners) for a quote for installation of laminate flooring. She took my information (including phone and e-mail), gave me the hourly labor charge ($81), then said that she would speak with a technician and get back with me concerning an estimate of what would be involved and how much time it might take. I never heard back from her.
