Moore & Sons Roofing

Jeremiah communicated with us via text regarding our need to complete the roof in a hurry; we had our insurance company breathing down our neck to get this done asap. Jeremiah said he understood and had worked with insurance companies in the past. Scheduled us for the following week. The crew of 8 showed up at 8am! They went straight to work, tearing off shingles, putting in new boards and reshingling (is that a word?) The worked continually until lunch time. I left the house around 1pm and when I returned home later that evening at 6pm the roof was completely done! My jaw dropped as I rounded the corner in our subdivision. We have a lot of walkers and runners in our neighborhood; they all stopped to ask who did the roof and commented on how nice it looked. Great service from the beginning! I would highly recommend Moore and Sons!

We've used them twice because of Angie's List. My roof looked wonderful. We had them do our garage roof couple of years ago. They did a really good job and gave us a really good deal. They are very upfront. They tell and give you a pretty accurate estimate. They are very neat and they clean up really well. We have a pool and some dogs. I'm concerned about nails and things like that. It's all taken care of.

They did a very good job. I would use them in the future.

They were very quick. They had to return after I called them up for something that they had done wrong.

Entire job was done in one day. Cleanup was as good as you can expect, in fact better than I had anticipated. We found nails for a few days afterward, but there is no way they could get all of them. They put everything back the way they found them--i.e. deck furniture, fencing, etc. The crew worked from 8:00 until about 6:00, and did an amazing job. (one of our neighbors had another company do theirs, and it took them four days.)

I would NOT recommend this company as they lack professionalism to an extreme degree. I originally called on 10/28 and the receptionist told me someone would call back that afternoon. When I did not hear back by 10/30 I called again. The receptionist took an attitude with me and said she'd leave another note, and they usually call back within 24 hours, but sometimes it can take up to a month to return a call. I'm sorry- taking a month to return a call to someone who wants to hire you for a major job shows you're not actually committed to your customer and that you take a lackadaisical attitude toward your work.

We would recommend Moore and Son's Roofing. We had 5 roofing companies out to look at our roof/damage and Moore and Sons was the only one that suggested fixing our roofing issue so we don't have more damage and not just sell us new shingles. It cost a bit more to add all the extra insulation and ice and water shield but it was correcting the problem and not just covering it up. Crews where very professional and clean. They are extremely busy so get on their schedule as soon as you can. We had to wait almost 2 months from contract to new roof but it was worth the wait. I would say they are one of the best in west Michigan.

It was difficult to get a time when the weather cooperated. But once we had such a day they were in and out, all done in one day. Clean neat job.

They did a really excellent work. They started end of July but they were late because of the weather. So, they just finished in a total of four days and I really have a big roof with leaks. They finished it towards the end of September, September 24 or 28 something like that. I have a big house by the lake and I looked around and it was a big job. It was like 11,000 square feet big roof. I heard of them from other people and they have a better reputation but their cost if far more expensive compared to those who are small companies and are locals. I am pretty happy with the job. They were expensive but you get what you pay for. I think the quality of work is good.

Overall I was impressed with the quote and professionalism, however there was one problem, we needed gutters replaced in addition to a roof. Ed gave us a great quote on a roof and said his "gutter guy" would contact us, which never happened. I called Ed back and left a message that I had not heard about gutters, but I never got a response. That unfortunately was enough for me to use a competitor. Thanks for the quote.

He was extremely professional, approachable and honest about the work that was and was not indicated. He took a generous amount of time to explain everything to me and to discuss options, even knowing that he would not likely do any work for us on our current roof. I was thoroughly impressed with his level of service.

I'm still amazed that this entire job was accomplished in one day! If you need help with a new roof, talk to Tony! He was there. He was on top of everything and even though we had a small problem with a dent in our vinyl siding, Tony made that right with no disputes or problems. The crew (eight workmen) worked together as a team and it was fun to watch. They all knew their jobs and were very efficient. The materials were placed on the roof in the morning. The crew showed up about 20 minutes later and got right to work. Tony was in and out all day to make sure everything was going right and to answer any of our questions. Excellent work guys!!!

The representative was very helpful and patient during the evaluation and estimating process. The only downside I experienced was not hearing from him for weeks after we notified them that we were selecting them as our contractor. We were told the night before that our roof was going in the next day. However, they did ask whether that was okay before actually scheduling it. Since we have a large house, we were amazed that the entire roof (pulling off the old layers of shingles, fixing worn pieces, and replacing all of the shingles) got done in a single day. We did have to request that they clear the driveway so we could get out early in the evening, but when we came back, the yard and driveway were cleaned up, and you'd never have known they were there except for the beautiful roof they left behind. Overall, it was a really good experience for a reasonable price.

Called Ed Moore Jr. for a roof quote. Ed was very responsive and come out within a few days. It was an insurance quote secondarily to hail storm. Ed worked with my insurance company, jumped tHrough all the hoops of my mortgage company to become a contractor on their list certified contractors directory. Job went quickly and efficiently and looks great. Ed also gave us other contractor names since we had siding damage and have been having trouble getting contractors to give us a quote do to amount of work in the area.

iT WENT VERY WELL.OVERALL QUALITY AND COMMUNICATION WAS THE BEST.

Asked Moore and Sons to give us a bid. We had additional complications with a mold remediation in the attic at the same time. Jeremiah came out and we had a good conversation and said we would give us an estimate. However we never received one even after several emails and phone calls. I received one email response which said he would get back to me the following Monday (June 30) but as of writing this July 9 (2 1/2 weeks later), I have not received any estimate. Disappointed as they were highly rated on Angie's list and recommended by someone from church whom they had done a great job on their home.

Moore and Sons did a wonderful job for us. Beginning with the quote all the way to install. Wonderful customer service. Amazing quality and great price. Ed Moore has been a pleasure to work with. Honest, patient and sincere, communicating every step of he way.

The job went well although it took awhile due to the challenges of an unfortunate run of wet weather (by no means the roofers fault). The workers were very respectful as well as using care to cleanup at the end of each work day. Jeremiah Moore was also on site daily to oversee progress and address any concerns we may have had.

I couldn't be more pleased. Vendor was flexible and did not attempt to sell me more than I needed. They used premium materials and got the job done is a very short time frame - quality work and great cleanup.

Jeremiah is very knowledgeable and a nice person to deal with. He came in at the best price of the 4 different roofing companies we met with. He gave us a quote on a new roof (removing 2 layers existing), adding ventilation and adding some insulation, as well as repairing/replacing our gutters & making them more efficient. The initial visit went very well. He was knowledgable, answered all of my questions, and gave the estimate (which was very reasonable compared to some others). What eventually led to us not using him was that it was very hard to coordinate with his schedule. Our schedule can be complicated as well, but we felt we gave plenty of opportunities to meet (second meeting with both myself and my husband to go over more details and ask any remaining questions) that were either cancelled/rescheduled by him or did not work on his end. After trying off and on for over a week to find a time that worked for him, we opted to move on as we needed to make a decision soon. Bottom line: if you can coordinate with him, he'd probably be a fine company to work with.

I had Ice Dams on the roof. Other roofers were busy, as well as Moore and Sons. Ed personally moved a crew over to my house and addressed the ice dams which were causing major leaks. The crew worked proficiently and quickly to eliminate as many of the Ice Dam problems that were possible. I got no sales talk about a new roof or special deals that other companies were trying to push. When I asked about a new roof estinate, Ed advised he would rather wait until we had a handle on the current situation, and then sit down and talk about a new roof and installtion times. A very reasonable reply instead of a "got to commit now for a special price" sales deal that other well known roofing companies tried to push over the phone without even caring about my current situations. Ed Moore and sons gets a A +++ in my book!

First off the are right about using their own employees. Only they don't use family like the description kind of leads you to think. Very hard to understand their laborers. Their price is great. No one that is licensed/insured in the area could beat it. They broke a window but Ed repaired it within reasonable time. Clean up wasn't the greatest tho. However, once the job is done it is very hard to get ahold if any of them. I hope they can fulfill the agreement if there is a warranty issue. Doesn't seem they'd be too prompt with issues like that. I'd still recommend them.

There was immediate and clear communication when more damage than initially was expected was discovered as the old shingles were stripped off.
