Our house was in obvious need of new shingles. It was "waving" at us when we looked from afar and the gutters, even though they were cleaned and relatively free of debris, overflowed in spots creating waterfalls before the water could reach the downspouts. The hard winter we had this past year also left many shingles in our and our neighbors' yards. We received a quote which was fair and a very honest evaluation from the owner, Paul, of what was anticipated over and above the original quote in regards to boards requiring replacement. As I mentioned, our roof was in obvious bad shape and they explained before we even made a down payment on the quoted price that determining exactly how many boards required being replaced was not possible until they began the tear off. The end price, though more than quoted because of the large number of boards that required replacement which we were shown during the tear off, was not a surprise. The roofing crew was awesome. They answered all my inquiries, were polite, quick, and very clean. Within a half day they tore off shingles, replaced many boards, re-shingled my roof, and cleaned up fantastically. Most of them smoked and there was only a couple of butts located. I mentioned to one of the crew about my concern about butts and he said they are very aware of that and dispose of them elsewhere - definitely not in the yard. The afterward discovery of nails and such was so minimal. I'd say maybe we found 20 strays. Not bad when they removed an entire roof containing probably thousands! We even took a metal nail roller in the street where the dumpster was and didn't find one. The gutters were installed a day later and the crew was just as polite, clean, and swift as the roofers. I had a badly placed old gutter, mentioned to them about it, and they worked it so that the new ones are placed perfectly.

The stamped concrete patio was excellent. During the installation, our sprinkler system was damaged. This showed up a couple of weeks later when we tried to run it. The owner was extremely cooperative, engaging a sprinkler company to repair the damage in a timely manner. We were quite happy with the response and would be happy to refer others to this company.

We were very satisfied with the work. The estimate was right on. They completed the job one day ahead of schedule and cleaned up after themselves. They were very professional and thorough. I would highly recommend them.

It was obvious from our first estimate appointment that I was speaking with someone with a lot of experience holding a high level of professionalism. They were very knowledgeable and helped me work with insurance issue. While being a low cost provider, I received a HIGH quality job! Usually you "get what you pay for" but I couldn't have asked for a better team or a better looking roof! I Love it! Just as promised, they worked around my schedule and were able to remove the old roof and put the new one on all in one day. A whole team showed up, they did not take breaks, and were very professional all day. I spent most of the day outside with them. There was no cursing or rough talk. The kept on task and explained every step as I looked on. Being very careful of all of my young plants, all shingles went straight into a dumpster instead of the ground. They tarped everthing to catch the small pieces that fell off. Before they left, they made sure to clean up every little piece and left it the way it was when they got here. I would highly recommend Choice Home Improvement to any of my family or friends who want a high quality job, a professional team and to be great satisfied with the finished product at a reasonable cost. They took what is normally a very stressful decisionand process and held my hand as we walked through it. I couldn't be happier!

Almost twelve years later, it still looks great! I am very happy with the work.

ice.Bill, the salesman, called us to schedule this appt. for March 22 @ 2 pm. The home we were meeting at is a rental I have in A2 which is 26 miles, round trip, from our home, cold and without any furniture. Choice was well aware of this being a rental. We waited 45 minutes for someone to show up and finally left. In the interim I tried several times to call Choice to understand the delay and only got voicemail, which I understand, being a Sat. but I did leave a couple messages as to if anyone was running late and for someone to get back to me with feedback. My call was never returned. The next Monday, I expected some explanation and apology. Nothing at all. This company is the worst of the worst to leave us hanging dry and with no explanation. You are crazed to do any business with Choice Home Improvement. Found a stellar contracter on Angie's list and happy with my remodel. This experience further cements my belief to not accept any cold calling (Choice) and just rely on Angie's List which has never let me down.

The gentleman (horrible with names) that came out was on time, friendly, and professional. He looked at my problem and said he could most definitely help. He proposed fixing a spot on my upper roof, replacing the siding on my upper rear and stated he had to replace my whole addition roof to repair this correctly. He officially lost me when he started talking about filing an insurance claim (this was from an ice dam and badly installed siding) to repair the interior damage and started repeatedly using words like insurance claim, litigation, mold, talking about repairing and painting entire bedroom and family room. I had FIVE different estimates done, all Angie's list companies, 3 of them were Super Service Award winners. Not once did any of them mention the need to do all the interior repairs. None of them told me my addition roof needed to be replaced, in fact each of the other four came in with the exact same repairs and all of their estimates compared well (hovering around the 2500-3000 range). All suggested fixes to the bad roof spot and fixing the siding. No talk of mold, insurance claims, etc... In fact two of the companies went into my attic to inspect on my request reporting no signs of mold, 3 of them stated without provocation that the interior damages weren't a huge deal and that the drywall would dry and I only needed to replace it if it bothered me. They all gave me the "choice" and didn't use sale tactics like Mold!! This company seemed to push repairs on me and it didn't settle well with me. I prefer companies that are straight forward and let me decide how much to repair telling me what is essential and what is cosmetic only which all four other companies did. No npushy sale tactics with them. I just wouldn't feel comfortable with them working on my home.

We heard about Choice Home Improvement on Bob Allison's and quot;Ask Your Neighborand quot; radio show. They came to the house and discussed the options with low pressure and honest sales personnel. The installation team was very friendly and knowledgeable. The crew did not use bad language or listen to loud music. They did a total of 7 windows with one being a large picture window. They are high quality and extremely efficient windows. They installed the windows in one day. They removed the blinds around the windows and put them back up. The only thing we did not discuss before the installation of interior trim. So the installer used solid wood trim that we needed to paint. No big deal, but that is the only and quot;issueand quot; with the entire Choice Home Improvement experience. The windows are extremely high quality and energy efficient, and with this extremely cold January the difference is amazing. We are extremely happy with the work and will use them for any other home improvements. After the porch installation we did decide to order windows from Choice Home Improvement.

Choice did our roof, and we were very pleased. Seth walked us through the process and gave us a very reasonable price. Being on a fixed income creates challenges financially. The crew of roofers cleaned up everything and were in and out in one day. Seth came by to check on us during and after the job, we eventually bout new windows from him to keep our business with choice. They did a beautiful job and we are very happy. Holly was there office manager and she was a pleasure to talk to. She even gave start times for both projects. Thankyou very much for taking good care of us.

There were two installers that did all the demolition by hand. They were extremely friendly. They did not swear, listen to loud music, or use our bathroom. Very professional and excellent work. The installation took a couple of days. Permits were pulled and were passed by the city of Westland. We are extremely happy with the work and will use them for any other home improvements. After the porch installation we did decide to order windows from Choice Home Improvement.

Choice did my roof and siding repair. I worked with Seth, the brother did great work on my home. He always came by after and hung out. I then after sent him to my next door neighbors house and he wrote her up too. He did there roof, gutters, awning, railings and even hooked up a new porch light. I'm satisfied with working with the choice family. They didn't even mess up my beautiful shrubs. I'll be using them again for my front porch.

It went great. Everything went according to schedule. Everything that was asked for we received. It turned out beautiful and we love the room so much. Seth was so great to work with!

Choice did my bathroom remodel and it was a very good experience. The work flow went smooth and they have very knowledgeable and friendly installers. The office kept me updated with any important information and the end result looks great. Thanks guys.

I was shopping at Menards and decided on a patio door and windows that I wanted. Menards does not install but contractors willing to fill out a Menards flyer and put their info at the desk. I picked up Choice Home Improvements flyer and scheduled an appointment. When the project manager came out, he was unwilling to discuss Menards products and wanted to install their products saying they were comparable in price. As soon as he gave me his estimate, it was more than double what Menards was and about 40% higher than 3 other companies I already had. He wouldn't even discuss Menards products with me. Needless to say I was appalled that they would place their flyer at Menards if they are not willing to install their products. I nicely handed him his brochure back and said I didn't think his company would be a good fit.

More to come. Too upset to think right now.... Would like to respond to company's response below. Paul (the owner's) recollection seems to be quite inacurate. It was not a year later that we made calls for issues we felt should be covered under their and quot;labor warranty.and quot; It was however a year before we were actually able to get someone to come out. Paul did not come out several times. He was scheduled to, but did not show up and took three months after his first visit, which I had to call the company and say when should we expect a call back from Paul. The company's quote included the design and build of deck allowing for access to a recessed hot tub. We never asked Choice to sell a hot tub to us, just build the deck around it allowing access for service. That was a part of the design provided. It was the way the deck supports were built around the opening that were not allowing a service company access to the panel. We did not realize this until we needed to call for service on the hot tub. All along we assumed that the job was done the way it was described. So yes, we were so excited when the job was done and happy with the job at first. Paul ultimatley told us they were not a hot tub company and he could send out Keith from Woodcraft Design and Build to take a look and charge me $1,000. That's funny because Keith sat at my kitchen table with Justin from Choice and assisted in designing our backyard space in the first place. Now I have to spend an additoinal $1,000 to get it done right. We already had to come up with an additional $5,000 on the spot to get our stamped concrete job started. Not enough spacehere to get into all that drama. We also have issues with our deck lighting which stopped working. Someone came out to take a look and my husband spent two hours with the tech trying to help him run wires, etc. The tech had to come back with appropriate tools and materials, but never did. I suspect the owner told hiim not to since we were in dispute of the hot tub situation. Our lighting still does not work. As far as the concrete pad being poured under the hot tub comment,, the guys building the deck said they'd placed many hot tubs on gravel and if they do the footers right, etc. it really wasn't worth it to spend the extra money for a concerete pad. They were suppose to be the experts, so why wouldn't we take their advise. My tub is now sinking on one side a year later. Anyway, I guess we could let that go, but we feel it is their responsibility to rectify the the hot tub access and lighting at no additoinal cost to our family, and we would be happy to have them back to do so. We had many instances throughout the job, but we are patient and kind and wrote a good review when the job was done, expecting that if we needed service, there would not be a run around. After speaking with others, the expereinces we had along the way were unacceptable. Also, please remove my original review from Angie's list and quot;which I retractedand quot; from your website unless we can get this rectified. Thank you.

The provider gave a target date for work to be performed and also explained in detail how the work was to be done, and what to expect. The workers showed up on time with a large team that immediately began the job of roof replacement. The team was very well disciplined and obviously skilled at this particular task as they efficiently worked through the stages of replacement. We have a fairly large house and the team finshed the entire job within 2 1/2 days...remarkable! This included all cleanup with much care taken to protect all landscaping and other outside items. After leaving our house with the new roof completed, we marveled at how you wouldn't even have known they were there by the way they meticuously picked up even the smallest debris.We would definately use this company again. Very satisfied!

They are the most professional improvement company I've ever dealt with!

The team at Choice Home Improvement was very honest and made three trips to my house to review and discuss the job before any work was done. The crew was very hard working and did a great job. The overall appearance of my house is great. The crew worked very long hours to get the job done. They were very receptive to my requests and comments during the build. Overall, Peter and his work crew get an A for the job. Well Done! Also, no job goes without a couple open issues at the end of the job. Those open issues were addressed and taken care of during the final walk around. A special thanks to the owner (Paul M.), he made approximately 5 trips to my house during the three week period that the work was done. He always wanted to make sure I was happy with the work that was done. I have had several of my neighbors stop by to say how good my house looks and to say how hard the crew worked. I have already recommended Choice to some of my friends and would use them in the future if needed. Also, thanks to Holly in the front office, she always kept in touch with me and kept me up to date on when material was ordered, when material would be delivered, and when the work crew would be on site. Thanks Choice !!!!!

The Choice team was fantastic. The construction crew was great - professional, responsive and did a very good job. The office team - Paul, Holly, etc. kept in contact on a regular basis and ensured the open line of communication was constant.

The contractor was prompt and performed the work as detailed in the contract. All the work was performed in a professional manner and it looks really good. They cleaned up all their debris from the site and left the property looking great. This was the second time I have used this company, the first project was a roof replacement, and I would use them again for similar work projects.

Did not use the service do to reasons mentioned above and no final written estimate.

We hired Choice Home Improvements after reviewing estimates and options from at least 3 other companies. Choice updated our siding with James Hardie siding, new gutters with gutter guards, and repaired and improved our front porch posts/pillars. Justin our sales person was very nice to work with. Some of the other estimates we received came with pushy and somewhat rude sales people. Justin was polite and gave us time to make our decisions. We wanted something different, more than just the typical vinyl siding. He understood that and had great ideas. As with any construction project, issues arose during the process. However, our concerns were always addressed immediately and if needed, corrected in a timely manner. The contractors that we talked to every day on the job were very professional and knowledgeable. The project took a little longer than we had expected but most of that was due to weather delays. We are very happy with the results. Many neighbors and friends have made many positive comments. I would recommend Choice to close friends and family.

We were very pleased with everything from start to finish. The salesperson Seth was great and went thru every little detail with us more than once to make sure he understood what we wanted and quoted it properly. Their pricing was fair-not the cheapest and not the most expensive and after the job was done-we felt it was well worth the money! They started when we wanted them to and they finished in about a week. We had vinyl siding done-they went out of their way to get the exact siding that we wanted even though it was not from their usual supplier. Besides having the siding done- they installed a new doorwall for us that we had bought separately from Home Depot and added new outside lighting for us. They did great job with everything and we were very happy and satisfied with the service but most of all how great the house looks. We will be using this company again when we have another home improvement project that we want to do!

BAD, HORRIBLE Experience. Owner Paul came to my doorstep and offered roof replacement service with lot of good words, guarantee and sales pitch. During roof replacement, he contracted the work to third party and I noticed some big mistake by roofers. On My bay windows they didn’t installed ice-water shield cloth as promised. When I bring this issue to his attention, he mentioned it was due to roofer ran out of material and didn’t install on bay windows. So, after couple of week he redid my bay window and didn’t apologize for such bad work. I thought, Now everything is fine. But it I was completely wrong. I have replaced my roof with your company in SEP 2011. Under signed contract choice wsr responsible for 20 yrs warranty for workmanship work. Week of Nov 21st I have noticed leak under bay window area and reported the issue. Choice WSR visited site on 27th and suggested it might be coming from window thus should be replaced. On nov 28th we noticed second leak under another bay window area. This leakage was very serious in nature and caused inside damage to my way window and surrounding area. Upon inspection, you have noticed gap between windows flashing and loose caulking. Which allowed heavy rain water come inside my house? Reason was obvious; It was due to loose caulking in window flashing area. I had my new roof replaced almost 1 yrs ago and this was example of bad workmanship during roof installation processes. This should be covered under workmanship warranty provided with roof replacement. - There were some shingles opened on high area of roof. He clouldn’t reach and told me have some other small guy climb up the roof and fix it in next week or two. - Called Paul and explain situation with Insurance claim. Upon discussion regarding root cause of the leak issue( bad workmanship, loose caulking), Paul got agitated and hang up phone on me. Unprofessional behavior VERY BAD EXPERIENCE!
