I am so very pleased with the workmanship, professionalism, and cost of remodeling our main bathroom by United Building Service. From the very first meeting with Tom Holland, the owner, I got the sense that this was a company that would work with me to complete a bathroom which would be a peaceful, spa-iike space. I asked for lots of unique features they were willing to take on. My husband and I no longer felt that we needed the tub, so we asked them to replace it with a sloped floor that drained into a trench drain, usually a pricey high-end feature. Ian, who did the basic reconstruction, thoughtfully worked with the sub-flooring and joists at hand to resolve a complicated installation. The company contacted the supplier of the trench drain, reconstructed the subflooring, rerouted the plumbing and tiled in an exquisite floor that drains neatly into the 60" drain located alongside the wall, and at very reasonable cost. I appreciated that they were willing to do this. Dave, our tile setter, did an outstanding job of laying the tile in the pattern that I wanted: large 12"x 24" tiles were used on the walls horizontally; the same sized floor tiles were laid lengthwise to create a long, opened feeling. The tiled inset is very cool too. There are two shower heads in the shower: one hand shower on a track on the short wall (30"); the other rain shower on the adjacent wall (60") near the other side of the shower. Thus, I can visit the rain forest at will :-) Nice plumbing job there! The IKEA vanity, Euro sink, cabinet, and two swivel mirror/storage units (Klompen) were installed and make for lots of storage so that the sink surface is not cluttered up with the usual grooming bottles and supplies. The swivel units hover to the side of the sink, just the right position for them. The Euro plumbing needed for the sink was superbly done. Tom suggested the heated flooring pre-cut product that fit perfectly into the space and saved money. He also suggested the Panasonic heater/light/fan/night light which is very quiet and adds to the soothing, relaxing feeling in the room. I am very grateful to all the craftsmen who expertly worked on this project. They took on several challenges in doing so, problem-solved until they accomplished the goal, worked as a team, always informed me of there arrival times, did the job in record time (Nascar pit crew, you could take lessons from them!), and were extremely pleasant and professional. Thanks to you all: Tom, Ian, Dave, Nick, Pat, Al, Luke, Dwayne, Don, George, Fred and Derek!

We have been absolutely satisfied with the quality of their work. After so many years being disappointed with contractor after contractor, it is so nice to find a contractor to give us what we want, with a quality that we can trust. If any issues emerged, they were quick to find a resolution.

They did a very good job. They were very efficient and did what they said they were going to do. I was pleased with their work.

I required documentation for determining costs towards repair work on a property that I'm purchasing. From the first call, United Bldg. Service where accommodating and very willing to meet my needs. The day of the appointment they were on time, professional and thorough. A few days later I received a very detailed estimate, just as I requested but even better than my expectations. I called so they can come out to do a bunch of work. They wanted to charge us a service fee if we decided not to go with them. That means if I did not like them for whatever reason I still would owe them the service fee. Its a way to get money from you one way or another. I do not like traps like that. Too many companies out there who do the estimates for free.

They were very reliable and thorough. They took care of permits, which I really liked. They called exactly when they said they were going to and the quality of work was excellent. We're getting ready to use them again.

United's team did a wonderful job in remodeling a less than ideal use of space in our master bedroom. The layout and function of the new shower couldn't be better. Both my wife and I are very pleased with the results. United's workers were very professional and clean. We were worried about construction dust and dirt but they did everything to allay our fears. Their workers were very punctual also. When they said they would be here at 08:30, they were here at 08:30. Even in a driving snow strom that happened while they were finishing up! The total time from tear out to completing was very fast. In fact they were framing the same day they arrived to tear out the old sheet rock! The price quoted was very reasonable also. They also gave me some leeway in the fixtures, and allowed me to purchase them. My wife and I highly recommend United Building Service, Co. You won't be sorry if you contract with them. We are looking forward to our next projects with them.

All has been completed on time and well-done, with fair processing.

The work was completed in 2.5 days. First day old drywall was removed and new installed. Second day taping and mudding performed . Last day sanding and cleanup

The drywall finishing was a bit rough, but everything else looks very good. Job was done in less than a day.

Jim came out to do an estimate - was very pleasant and knowledgeable. We asked for the estimate to be itemized so that we could pick & choose what we wanted to have done. Price seemed a bit high but ended up being the lowest of the estimates we got (and we haven't had many home repairs done so we weren't sure what to expect). Work was done in a timely fashion - everything was completed in a matter of days, which we appreciated since we were in a time crunch (wanted to have carpet put in after the repairs were done but before we moved in). Quality seems very good. We have decided to use them again for some additional painting and other repairs.

It went extremely well. They were very timely and efficient. It started with Tom and Lauren, then to Mark and George, Dave and Ben, and Jim and John. They were all very professional. They kept the areas clean every day they were here. The overall experience was the easiest and best remodeling job we have ever done.

This company arrived on time everyday and worked a full eight hours. They were neat and removed all trash daily. Stuck to their estimate both in terms of time and price. It was my first experience with a complete remodel of anything and I have to say it worked out fine for me. I felt they were honest and trustworthy.

He was very nice and professional, however I did not go through with the work. I would use him if I would do the project.

I told the rep I was not going to work with a company who is not responsive or on time as I have to arrange these services around my schedule and cannot take time off work to wait for someone who is going to be perpetually late.

I sent a message through the sight with some rough details about the project and gave a phone number asking for a call about an estimate. Must be their busy time of year because I recieved the the same "Sorry, too busy" response that other reviewers recieved. I recieved a prompt response within 2 hours, but I can't comment on anything else.

These guys were super! The quality of their work is second to none. They were fast but thorough, friendly but professional, and always strove to deliver excellence. Would use them in a heartbeat.

The work was really not that great. There were some drilled holes in the door and they were supposed to fill them, match it and then stain it. They cut blocks of wood fill the holes, but they didnt match the stain so you can see the glue, the different kinds of wood. To be honest, I dont think it was any better than I could have done. I don't mind paying the higher price (they were actually the highest bid on the job) but I expect the work to be decent quality (which it was not).

I called again today (July 25, 2013) to speak with Tom to reschedule the appointment and the sercretary would not let me talk to him. She called me rude and began playing derogatory music in the background.

During the estimate, Tom provided helpful tips to enhance the rooms. Once the date for the work was set, the crew led by John, arrived promptly at 8:15am and worked constantly for 8 hours taking only a short lunch break in their cars. John provided a timeline for the work and was willing to make any changes or additions to accommodate us. We added on the floor tile and asked for several additional areas to be painted. John quickly provided an updated price and the pace of the work continued. Each day when the crew left for the evening, they took time to clean and sweep their work space and it was as if they hadn't been there working. They were so kind and easy to work with and even when I asked for additional estimates for future projects, John willingly did as asked, so that Tom would be able to email am estimate from the measurements. Everyone was so kind, from the young lady who answers the phone, to Tom and John and every member of the work crew. I will use this company for all of my home remodeling. They are fantastic. I am proud to recommend them.

The jobs both went fine overall. The company was very helpful in dealing with the tenant directly at the rental house to schedule the job. They removed broken tiles and installed a tub surround along with updating some electrical outlets. They also did some small drywall repair and repainting. The color match was perfect! The 2nd job was the roof at a different home. Th guys dropped off the materials the evening before they started. They did not arrive as scheduled and I had to call and inquire about where they were. We were told that the previous job ran over and they would be there the following day. This was a bit incovenient but other than the delay, the job went well. They finished the roof in one day and brought in an ozone machine to help clean the air in the attic. They returned a couple days later to pick up the ozone machine.

They are excellent. My insurance also recommended this company to go with. My insurance paid for the work. They had to take some things out to put things back again. The owner Tom was very efficient. His staff was efficient. They came out on time. They kept me updated the process. They did nothing, but the best. I was a minor thing and they had to follow up on. They sent somebody right out to do some caulking. They were excellent.
