The woman on the phone was very patient with me. I know nothing about household repairs, and she had to listen to me say, "there's a something cracked in the something joint where there is gas leaking." Seriously, I felt so bad for her. She immediately put me through to the right people and I was booked right away. They called to say that they could arrive early, which was great, and they completely understood the problem. Greg was kind and thorough and knowledgeable and did an excellent job. He even showed me how he had tested to make sure the leak was gone. I was really happy with them. This is exactly the kind of service I would expect from the reviews that were written here. Great job, Cregger Plumbing! Thank you, Greg, for your hard work!

This was work done for my parents, however, I know they were very satisfied. They said it reminded them of good plumbers and handymen use to be; honest, hard working and they cleaned up after themselves without you asking. They would definitely use them again.

The work was ridiculously overpriced. My toilets were still stuffed up. Called them back, they weren't even interested in coming back out and redoing it without charging me all over again. They were horrible. I would never, ever recommend them. I was supposed to buy a toilet from them and they just never showed up to the appointment that was set. They were the rudest people. Not even bother to come back or settle it. I was so disgusted with them.

This was a big job. This is a large house, built in 1925 and various owners over the years have done all sorts of crazy stuff. Cregger managed to cope with all of it. They answered phone calls promptly. They got here when they said they would. They explained in detail what was going on. The job was completed in a timely manner in spite of all the hassles inherent in dealing with a historical house. Yes, it was pricey, but when I saw how many guys were here, how many days it took and how hard they had to work, it seems fair. When it turned out that the hot water heater would have to be replaced they threw that in for the cost of the new tank.

We had a clogged downstairs toilet and a really slow drain in the upstairs shower. I called on Tuesday (11/3) and Holly was able to schedule us for an appointment the following Saturday (11/7) which was great. Greg came over and began to work on a clogged toilet downstairs, he was able to clear it in about 10 minutes. He inspected the main drain and advised it looked good and didn't need to be cleaned out at this time. He then proceeded to the upstairs shower where the drain was very slow, after about 20 minutes pulling out hair from the drain he recommended some products we could use for maintenance of the drains. We asked him if it was necessary to snake the drain and he stated it was draining well and it didn't need anything further. We used a deal from Angie's List and it saved us a lot of money (over $200). On the next day, we noticed the upstairs shower was still draining slowly, we were contacted by Cregger on Monday 11/9 and they were able to come back out the same day to address the problem. Greg returned on 11/9 and found he needed to snake the shower drain. After about 30 minutes he was able to unclog the drain. He then advised the charge would be $160 (regularly $175, a savings of $15). Honestly, we were surprised, he was just at our home two days earlier and advised we needed nothing further, however we paid the charge and was contacted by Holly the next day for follow up. If the drain needed to be snaked on 11/7, and we paid for him to address the drain on 11/7, then why were we charged an additional $160 for a second visit to complete the original request? We advised our dissatisfaction of the additional charges, and Holly committed to sharing our concern with management, we are still awaiting follow up as of 11/12.

This is the second time I've used Cregger Plumbing to clear a blockage in my sewer line. Both experiences were great. Office staff is top-notch. Techs were timely, friendly, and did a great job. On both occasions, they quickly assessed the situation and got down to business. Once the blockage was cleared, they even cleaned up after themselves. Super job and I would definitely recommend them.

It was okay. They were definitely messy and left puddles on the floor and that kind of a thing. More than anything, they did the bare minimum. It was, "Hey, this is what's going on. This is where the problem was." There wasn't any, "Oh, this may have been caused by this or that. So, to avoid the problem in the future, this is how you might want to do different things so that you don't run into the same issue again." There was none of that.

We had two 84 year old boliers replaced with new energy efficient boilers. The old boiler a cast iron monster, had to be broken down, smashed by sledgehammer, by hand. The piping was cut away and redone. New automatic feeds were installed for both boilers as well as automatic shutoffs. New piping had to be cut and fitted. Their crew of 4-5 men were here for four days not including teardown. We had to use a licensed asbestos removal company for removal around steam pipes. The actual work done is to complicated to describe. This is for a 1928, 5,440 square foot house, an English Tudor in an historic area. Derek and the crew did great work. It took 2 weeks including staging and asbestos removal. The house is heating more evenly than it ever has. We would definitely recommend.

Cregger did their usual wonderful job on these projects. They showed up on time with the water heater I had ordered, only to notice that our home had a 50 gallon tank, and not the 40 gallon one that I thought it had. No problem, though. They just went to the store and bought the correct size. I used an Angie's List coupon for the hot water heater job, getting a 50 gallon Rheem water heater and installation for $950. Considering how much the heater costs at Home Depot, I felt the deal was a good one. While at the house, we also had a gas line to our old pool heater cut and capped off. That went well. No complaints. And we had a trap under a bathroom sink replaced. That turned out to be a bigger job than anticipated, but the plumbers handled it all without complaint. They're even wired up with iPad payment, so I could pay for it right away with my credit card. If you need any plumbing work done, I highly recommend Creggers.

we called them and they came out exactly when they said that they would. it turned out that the valve was a specialized part which they did not carry (though i had told the person making the appointment the make of the valve). They said that they would have to order it. We waited and waited and then called them...they had forgotten about us. We waited some more and then called again. They had forgotten to check on the part. When the part came in it was not exactly a replacement and the technician did a good job of making it fit...though not perfectly...though i am not sure it could fit perfectly. the people were always friendly and professional. In the end the rebated us most of the cost of the install because we had waited so long. Even with all of that i would use them again because they are honest and polite

Update: Owner reached out to get the details behind what happened. He explained pretty clearly over the phone and apologized for the first two trips. He personally came out to rectify the problem. He showed up on time and did an excellent quality job, caulking and all. The system works great, no leaks. He provided a replacement positemp cartridge and labor as a result of the trouble. Original Summary: Due to the negligence to inspect a problem which arose after the initial installation of the shower diverter, and extreme markup on the replacement part that was immediately offered, my impression of this company is at the least "unprofessional" and possibly "unethical". Cregger Plumbing installed a shower head, diverter, and faucet for me last week. I bought it in a set new from a hardware store. The diverter was supposed to come with a brand new Posi-Temp 1222 Moen cartridge. Proper installation of a Moen shower valve requires completely removing the cartridge. I did not dissemble it myself before installation. After installation, I was assured that the dripping from the faucet, which had not stopped at that point, would stop by 2 o'clock that afternoon when the seal had "developed a film". It never stopped. We called Cregger to return a second time to fix faucet which never stopped dripping. The same plumber came back, showed me the cartridge and said it was very obviously an old cartridge that had been swapped out for the one that came with the brand new set. When it was established that I had a cartridge that didn't fit properly, he was quick to bring up he had a Moen cartridge in his truck and could sell it to me for $150 - more than I bought the entire shower/diverter/faucet set for! This cartridge is sold for no more than $40 at Home Depot. A 300% markup - he must have thought I would say yes to anything. Then used scare tactics, saying that if I messed it up and he came out again, he'd have to charge for coming back out. (He was very wrong, as I will not be calling Cregger again.) I fail to see how it wouldn't have been obvious during the first installation, when he was handling what should have been a brand new cartridge. It either went unnoticed, or wasn't brought to my attention, even after I brought up that it was still dripping after the installation. Even if he had managed not to remove the cartridge completely, the clearly old and oxidized end of the cartridge was still visible, and when I brought up the dripping, he should have checked the cartridge the first time. I am very disappointed by Cregger Plumbing, and I would never recommend them. I would have to agree that for female hlomeowners, not even using Angie's List approved providers can prevent unfortunate situations like this.

They showed up on time for the appointment. They were friendly and courteous. I had paid $99 for $199 worth of service with an Angies List special promotion. The service tool about 45 minutes to perform and there was an additional charge of about $125 to complete the job. I am not a plumber but I have changed sink valves before. The parts cost about $12 each. I needed 4 of them and the job took him about 45 minutes. Paying over $300 seems exorbitant for such a minor job. The plumber was very nice and he did a great job. I would use them again. It seems as if every promotional price offer I buy on Angies list winds up costing me 2x or 3x more than the value of the deal.
