I called on a Monday and they were able to get us scheduled for a Thursday. The office called prior to our appointment on Thursday to let us know they would be a little late and called again before the plumber came to confirm. He was very courteous and diagnosed the problem, went out to get the correct part, and performed the repair quickly and at a reasonable price. Very satisfied, will definitely use them again for any plumbing needs.

Keith was awesome. Came same day, within the time frame stated and was very helpful and informative. Talked to me about everything he was doing and explained his findings with our leak. Pricing was fair and he was willing to look at anything I asked while he was here. We will be hiring them again to do some additional plumbing work we want done.

Arrived 2 hours after call with a water heater, replaced in ~3.5 hours. Gentleman that arrived (Greg I thin) was very pleasant, did a very nice job. Normal water heater replacement cost with installation was about $1050 for a typical 50 gallon hot water heater. I had to have a valve replaced for an additional $50, then there was a surcharge for the service call of ~$160 because of the timing, and an extra holiday/night time charge of about $400 for the service being performed (again, all due to us wanting it done immediately on a Saturday night of a holiday weekend).

I had an emergency and they came out. They were great. There were some additional costs on top of the $775 Big Deal because they had to do some piping work on my gas line. It was another $150. It was about $925 total.

I first became aware of Cregger Plumbing when I saw the deal they were offering on a hot water tank listed on Angies’ List (AL) so I called them on Mon. 7/18/16 to inquire about having a new one installed. The woman I spoke to was very nice. After I told her what I was looking for, she mentioned the offer that was listed on AL. She said the tank would cost $895 but if I joined AL I could get the tank for $775. I was aware of what was included from the ad I read on the AL website. While on the phone the woman asked if I wanted to go ahead with the purchase and that she would be able to complete the transaction over the phone right then and there. But because the ad mentioned there could be other charges at the time of installation I wanted a technician to come out and look it over first so there were no surprise costs or issues if the tech came out and told me something different. We set up an appt. for 8:30am on Wed. 7/20 and if the appt. went good, they would probably be able to do the installation that afternoon so I booked the service call. The tech came out and looked over the tank and the one thing that I thought would happen, happened. The tech quoted me a price of $975 for the tank and another $175 charge to replace/modify the existing plumbing to match up with the new tank. I explained to the tech the conversation I had with the woman at the office about the offer posted on AL. He too was nice about it, but he stated that the woman I spoke to was wrong to quote me that price and because she was not out in the field, did not have the right information to give me about pricing. The same tank I wanted from AL would now cost $975. I reluctantly agreed to proceed with the new tank despite the $1150 price tag. After the tech left, I called the main office and spoke to a different woman than the one I made the appt. with. She was not as nice and acted like she wanted no part of what I was trying to explain to her about the cost of the tank. She went on to explain that only the tech was in a position to give me a cost of the tank because he’s on site and knows if there are other factors to consider like ease of replacing the tank, or updating the plumbing, etc. that would affect the cost of the tank. I told her I understood the other costs I worked out with the tech but that the cost of the tank should not change just because I needed some plumbing addressed . The price of the tank is the price of the tank, regardless of additional costs. She told me that the price listed on AL were “drop-in” tank prices. Meaning that the tech comes out and just has to replace the old tank and does not have to do anything else like modify plumbing and as a result she would not give me the AL pricing. I thought that was the most ridiculous thing I ever heard that the price of the tank changed, even though they were already going to charge me for the extra plumbing work. As promised the tech came out in the afternoon and installed the new tank and I think he did a great job with the tank and updating the plumbing as stated on my invoice. When he was done, he cleaned up all his mess and left the house like he was never there. Excellent work. After the job, I did mention to the tech how unhappy I was, and how unfair it was that the girl in the office quoted me one price for the tank and he gave me another. If I would have made the purchase over the phone on 7/18 when I scheduled the appt. I would’ve got the member price and saved $200 on the tank. Instead it felt more like the classic bait-and-switch that you hear so often happens to the customer. Although I was happy with the tech’s work, and his gesture of future assistance if issues arise, I’m incredibly disappointed that Cregger did not live up to its promise on the pricing of the tank they offered through AL and from a rep at their own office. That was the main reason that brought me to them in the first place. As a result, I cannot give a good review to this business and will warn others of their dishonest pricing practices and advise them to seek another contractor.

It went beautifully. The ladies (one was Rebecca, the other might have been Lori) in the office were very patient, courteous and understanding when I called to set up the service call and answered numerous other questions I called with. Kevin Jacobs did the actual plumbing work. He did a perfect job that was complimented by the Clinton Township inspector. The inspector noted that we did not have a vacuum breaker on our sprinkler bib and Kevin installed that for us as well. We are very satisfied with Creggar Plumbing and give them a 10 out of 10. Thank you.

I did not have the greatest experience with this company the first go around. However, a problem occurred around the same area they worked on previously and to the owners credit they came out to check it out and discovered it was a completely unrelated issued. The patched it up and the issues has not returned. The plumber even told me about a coupon they had online, so he saved me some more money. In light of this experience and the plethora of positive reviews, I am going to write off the first experience as just an anomaly and am now considering the company to install a new sump pump for my house.

Overall, it went great. Cregger's really took into consideration that we were first time homeowners and did not want us spending money on any non-urgent repairs such as this sump pump replacement. The previous owner put in the sump pump themselves and, aesthetically speaking, it's not exactly that pretty and warranted concern; however, Creggar's made sure that it was functional.
Description of Work: We purchased a coupon for a new sump pump. Cregger's assessed that the work did not need to be done as our current sump pump was in fine working condition and would grant us a full refund.

I don’t even know where to begin. I called Cregger because I saw them on Angie’s List and assumed it would be a fair price, quality work and quality customer service. I was wrong. I called them a couple of weeks ago and explained that when we flushed the toilet the bathtub made a gurgling sound and it had gotten quite loud. We also needed the outside spigot replaced. I scheduled an appointment for a Saturday from noon-5pm. The technician showed up at about 1:30pm and asked what the issue was. I explained exactly what I had told the person when I called, that the bathtub makes a gurgling sound when the toilet flushes. He said that was a roof vent issue and would need to be fixed by getting on the roof, which he doesn’t do. I asked if another plumber from the company would then be making his/her way to the house to complete the work. He said no since only he and 1 other plumber were working that day and it requires two plumbers to do, and he doesn’t do roofs. I am not sure why, if the issue was already explained when I called, that they didn’t send two plumbers in the first place. Jason (the plumber, who was very nice) then explained that the spigot would be $150 and snaking the roof vent would take between 2-4 hours and cost between $225-$450, depending on “how difficult the clog in the vent was to dislodge and how long it took” since sometimes there can be squirrels stuck in them and it can be a very long and difficult process. So, after already wasting a Saturday, I called and scheduled another appointment for a Friday afternoon from noon-5pm. The two plumbers showed up that Friday in separate trucks at 3:28pm. One truck pulled into the driveway and the other parked on the street in front of the driveway. There was no way for another contractor there that day, who was hauling a door upstairs, to get in the driveway. My spouse also had to park across the street to haul groceries in. That is beside the point. The plumbers arrived at 3:28 and began working. They put the ladder up and one got up near the vent and one held the ladder. Immediately after the plumber got to the vent, he told me to run upstairs and flush the toilet and run water in the tub. I am not sure why I was required to do this when there were already two plumbers at the house. The toilet flushed fine and the tub did not make the gurgling noise. They then got down from the ladder. That whole process took under 10 minutes. They said there was nothing stuck in the vent and that the air probably just needed to be pushed out. Then, both plumbers sat by the truck for awhile and talked before they both worked on replacing the spigot, which took less than 20 minutes. Then, another plumber showed up and all 3 sat in the driveway for 25 minutes until I went out with my credit card and asked if everything was all set. The one plumber said he just had to write it up and would be in to “get the bill paid”. The actual work took 30 minutes and was not arduous or difficult so I was expecting to pay the lower end of the quote, approximately $375. Kevin, the plumber, came in and said “you owe me $675”. I was in shock and asked why it was so much. He said “that’s what the quote was”. I said no, the quote was a range and could show him the email I received. He said he had the quote and would look it up. While he was looking, I asked why it was the $425 side of the quote and he said “because your roof was high”. I was stunned. I have a simple two-story house and the roof is not super high, it was reached with a regular extension ladder. I was surprised and told him that this was the first we heard of the cost of the job being dependant on how high the roof was. I told him that the original plumber told us it would depend on how long it took due to the difficulty of the clog. Because there wasn’t an actual clog, and it took less than 10 minutes (with me doing half of the work), I expected the cost to be $225 and would happily pay that. He said “well, I can make it $575”. I asked how he came up with that number and he said it “was in the middle of the quote”. I told him I felt this was all very arbitrary and subjective if he is able to just pick what to charge. I said “I’d like to speak to someone at the office to discuss this”. In continuing his rude and abrupt demeanor, said “That’s not going to change it. This is the price”. I said I would still like to speak to someone. He got even ruder and said everyone at the office was gone for the day and I had to pay what he was charging. I told him I would pay $375 now but still wanted to speak to someone else about the remaining bill. He then left the house as he got on his cell phone. He came back a couple of minutes later and said “someone will call you tomorrow” and left. I know it is difficult to express tone in a typed statement, but he was extremely rude and unprofessional. I didn’t even pay the $375 I was willing to. By 1030 the next day, Saturday, I hadn’t heard from anyone. I don’t like not paying for work that was done and at least wanted to resolve the situation. I called Cregger and was put on hold for a couple of minutes. I explained that I had a question on a bill and just wanted to touch base. She told me that they usually call back the next business day. I apologized and said I could wait until Monday but she said she would look and see if she could see what was going on. She looked, said she saw the invoice for $675 (even though at the end it was down to $575 but now back up I guess) and asked “what is the issue”. I explained, leaving out the rudeness of the plumber, the situation. She said they charge for the job and that was the price. I told her that they didn’t even snake the vent and it took less than 10 minutes. She again explained that they charge by the job (which I understand) and that she could have a Master Plumber call me back on Monday if I wanted. I told her I understood and wanted to resolve it, but just felt uncomfortable with the arbitrary price based on the “height of the roof”. I said that we have a simple two-story house and the roof is not extra tall. She then said, in a sarcastic manner “well, if you have a two-story house then it isn’t a one-story roof, is it”. I was done and flabbergasted by the attitude. I told her I wanted to speak to a Manager and she said “that’s fine. I will have one call you”. We hung up. I can’t even tell you how frustrating this has been. I will never call Cregger Plumbing for any other work we need to done in the future. I hope that this can be resolved Monday when I speak to a Manager and that they care about customer service. No homeowner should have to endure rude, sarcastic contractors/secretaries when they are paying hundreds of dollars for barely any work to be done. I am an honest and reasonable person and want to pay for the services that were done, but I feel that I am being taken advantage of and ripped off by them saying one thing then charging the very highest quoted amount because of another reason. I look forward to hearing from Cregger and hope this can be resolved quickly.

They were prompt and professional, but I asked for a plumber as soon as possible and couldn't get one until the next week. That's not a critique, just saying they're a busy bunch. Everything was done well, as far as I know so far, my issue was the pricing. First, I planned on using an Angie's list coupon and getting a quote. My wife was home when they came, and they fixed it on the spot with no mention of deals available. She paid by check and I found out later. $200 to fix a wax seal on a toilet is pretty dang exorbitant, in my opinion. If my wife had known that was what they were charging, we would have attempted the fix ourselves lol. Buy they did come and do the job, on time, with no drama... And in Detroit that's worth something. Whether it's worth $200 remains to be seen.

I called Creggars a few months ago and had a terrible experience with the on-call technician. I wrote about my experience on Angies List and immediately the next day, the owner called to hear more about my experience. He assured me this was not representative of their company and provided me with a credit, with the hopes that I would continue to use Creggars in the future. It was reassuring to hear much pride Creggars has with their customer service! Today I called Creggars and had to speak with the on-call technician and he was exceptionally helpful, knowledgable and patient. I am glad that I gave Creggars another chance because they sure didn't disappoint! Thank yo

Called before arriving and arrived on time. Original water heater they brought did not fit in tight spot; they went and purchased second and installed; including new drain pan and sawing thru drywall to connect to drain. Jimmy and Ron were friendly, professional and competent. They cleaned up after themselves. Yea!
