 + 0 moreCregger has done a lot of work for us over the last few years and, even though we've never had the same plumber twice, the work always goes well. This job was no different. We'll keep calling Cregger whenever something comes.
Description of Work: They did some work on our sump pump (warranty work, so no charge). They cleared a blocked shower drain. Poorly designed and installed bathroom plumbing was leaking (left over from previous owners--not done by Cregger), and they replaced it with a more reasonable and reliable system.

 + 0 moreVery well. The quote I received was a fair and reasonable price for the work that needed to be done. After receiving the quote I called to schedule the work. On the day the work was done a crew of two came out to do the job. They made relatively quick work of breaking out the floor near the floor drains, removing the old cast iron traps, and installing new PVC traps. They added new cement around the traps to replace the floor that was removed. All in all an excellent job at a fair price. For any future plumbing needs I will contact Cregger first!
Description of Work: I had to have major work done on my basement for water leakage. Due to the scope of the work I had to take out all of the existing flooring that was in my basement. Due to the age of the house, the two floor drains in my basement would not drain as the traps were clogged up. This was going to require replacement of the floor drains and traps because the existing ones were cast iron and were installed in the 1950's. The covers on the floor drains were completely rusted in place which is why full replacement was needed. As I had all of the flooring removed for the drainage work, I decided to find a plumbing contractor to replace the floor drains. I have hired plumbers in the past, all prior jobs done by large companies with names we all know. I have never liked doing business with these plumbing firms due to their outrageously high pricing, and charges just to come to your home to provide an estimate. So this time I decided to search for a plumbing contractor, rather than just a plumbing service firm. That is how I found Cregger Plumbing here on Angie's List. Cregger is an independent firm serving the metro Detroit area. They offer free estimates so I called and requested an estimate.

Description of Work: Several months ago Cregger installed a new hot water tank for me.I thought the cost was a little high but they did a good job. A few weeks ago my hot water started to smell and I called Cregger for a recommendation. They said I needed a new magnesium anode rather than aluminum.

Cregger is a first rate company with great people, from the office to the plumbers. I recommend them without reservation.

Just examples: Kitchen drain lines improved; conversion fittings on water heater lines and new copper to water heater; added 20 ft of copper for washing machine relocation to first floor; replaced tub drain to stack; removed old and installed new toilet and repositioned from old placement; vacuum breakers on outside hose faucet; new drains, water, and gas lines for relocating laundry, replacing galvanized with copper. He did not know we had already made partial payment via Angies List. So I was charged a larger amount than necessary. I called the office later and explained what had happened. Cregger's was very understanding and immediately refunded the overpayment.

 + -1 moreThe plumber came promptly as scheduled. Very professional. Listened to my description of the leak coming from the bottom of the cannister. Gave me a quote, $395 - Yikes! Included a 2 year warranty and 1 yr labor, but it seemed pretty steep. It ended up being the cannister that needed replacement. The motor functioned fine. The entire job was completed in less than 10 minutes. No muss, no fuss and no mess left over either. :) I found an Angie's List coupon for $25 that eased the sticker shock just a little.

 + 1 moreThe work went as expected without any problems. The installer seem to be very experienced. We have had no issues since the work (approximately 7 months). My only issue was the installer stuck a metal tool into the new operating grinder I think to see if the model had an automatic shutoff (which he believed it did). He seem to be shocked to find out it didn't and quickly withdrew his tool. I can only guess as to what effect that had on the disposal blades and the durability of the unit, but nothing noticeable so far.
Description of Work: Replaced a garbage disposal with an owner-provided unit and cleaned out the disposal drain pipe.

 + -1 moreExcellent, Jeff arrived as scheduled and promptly began the water heater flush service and proceeded to the main shut-off valve and three additional shut off valves in the basement before checking the hose bib faucets and irrigation system faucet outside, and then to the first floor half bath, laundry room utility sink and then kitchen sink ( checking for fixture leaks, shutoff valve operation, faucet/bath/shower/ toilet water pressure, signs of water damage), and finally to the second floor to check the family/guest bathroom and master bathroom for the same. Jeff was very professional, personable, and efficient, taking care to maintain the work area and leave it clean upon completion of the service. Jeff was a pleasure to work with, and provided an emailed report of the service with the paid invoice. I look forward to my backflow test service from Cregger Plumbing tomorrow, and based on this experience would recommend them for future plumbing services.
