UPDATE TO THE BELOW: After leaving this review I was contacted by Creggar. It seems we were mis-charged, and the company offered a $129.00 refund which we received today. Price still seems a bit high, but gave them an A rating for professionalism. We had a frozen pipe in our home and, since Cregger was offering a discount coupon and had a high rating, I bought the coupon and we called for an appointment to have the pipe insulated. The next day the pipe thawed and the water was running fine but we decided to keep the appointment to avoid any future problem. The technician came out, but did not have the insulation so he had to leave and buy what he needed. Time will tell if the job was performed well - the weather has not been cold enough to determine. However, when I came home and saw the bill for $495 I thought that was terribly high for just wrapping a pipe. They are either inflating their prices to cover the cost of the coupon ($111 for $200 in labor), or they are terribly overpriced. We will not use them again. That's sad because we have normally been very pleased with the companies we choose from Angie's List.

It ended the drip and I'm sure my water bill will go down. The service rep came on Thursday. He clearly explained two options for the repair needed one guaranteed one more of a maybe. I asked a few questions that were answered and then informed choose option one. I was rescheduled based on my availability not theirs. The rep asked/advised that he would probably come with a team member in training. The two worked well together. The work was done very quickly. And I am again very pleased with the professional clearly shown in the work performed. This is my fourth service from Cregger's. They are now going to be my company for all things plumbing. I had never heard of them before Angie's List but I tried them because of the great discount offered. I made a great decision. And I have already referred others to them.

They resolved the initial problem that I bought the deal for, but when I asked about another issue with pipes backing up they went overboard and wanted to do more than necessary which would have been very costly. I ended up having someone else come out to fix the pipes for a great price. They seemed very professional and were responsive and they were able to get us scheduled relatively quickly.

Everything worked out well. My kitchen carpenter happened to be here at the same time so the job was easier. The carpenter had put my cabinets in and the plumber needed to open a larger space to access the gas line. When it was opened by the carpenter, the plumber tightened the cap which was loose allowing gas fumes to go behind the cabinets. That was all that needed to be done. The plumber vacuumed up the wood dust and cleaned up completely.

This worked out pretty well. We had a gas leak that needed fixed, but it turned out the pipe had been capped. So a possible expensive repair turned out to be inexpensive. The also disposed of the pipe that had to be removed so I appreciated that.They did leave the front of the furnace off, but not a big deal because it can be tricky to replace. However I will use them again.

Jimmy showed up on time as promised and was very professional and very clean and took his boots off before coming inside. He put a tarp on the stairs to bring down the new water heater. After the install he took the old heater with him and cleaned up everything. He didn't leave so much as a piece of solder behind. He was very good and knew what he was doing and I would definitely recommend Cregger Plumbing in the future.

Took less than one hour. Replaced toilet tank workings and replaced water line. Quick, professional, and left area clean and tidy.

There were problems with the services that they provided, and there was one thing that we personally fixed and they had to come back to fix the other item. They did not do it right the first time. He made the final repairs and we haven't had any issues. They turned off the water to the house, and they didn't turn it back on full, they just turned it back on partially, so we turned it on ourselves. They were pleasant, they cleaned up after themselves, but what they had forgotten could have caused major damage to the house if there wasn't somebody around. We thought the price was a little expensive.

They were punctual and easy to work with. I was not at the house but I was able to pay using Angies List, which is very nice. They came and diagnosed that my problem was the sump pump and since I knew they had a coupon on Angie's List for sump pump replacements, I was able to buy the coupon to pay for the service while they were at the house doing the repair. Everything took less than an hour. I will use this plumber as my go to plumber for my house in Berkley going forward. I have never used them before but was impressed when I called them and got a answer on the phone right away and a scheduled appointment. I had called around to other plumbers and left messages but never got a return call. They showed up exactly when they said they would. I appreciate the feedback they gave me that the old sump pump was a plastic piece of garbage, that is why it only lasted about 4 years. I feel like $345 for the pump and the installation is fair.

We had frozen pipes in our laundry room so one of the techs came out to thaw our pipe and he insulated the pipes with a black styrofoam type of insulation however it didn't keep our pipes from freezing and our pipes froze again 1-2 days later. There was a 30 day warranty so I called for service again and a tech named Kevin (Bigger built) came out the next day. Kevin (bigger built) wasn't very friendly but I didn't think much of it at first. He also didn't introduce himself. He came in and seemed grumpy. As he examined my pipes, he complained about how the piples shouldn't be in the wall etc. which I already knew. I asked if there were any suggestions and he immediately said that I need heat tape without really accessing our pipes and he said it would cost at least $700 to do that. He was rude and grumpy the whole time and he used my bucket that I use to fill with clean water when I give my newborn a bath without even asking! Now, I have to get a new bucket. He asked how he could get into our crawl while being groggy about it and he came back in to tell me that he couldn't get the door to our crawl space open (probably without really trying). I've had several people go in and out of our crawl recently because we had our crawl insulated and I never had anyone tell me they couldn't get in. He finally got it open and said that he couldn't go in there because there was a return air vent in the way. He pretty much told me that the couldn't do anything so I politely asked if he could still thaw our pipes since I had a warranty. He said that he would have to charge me for the service and I told him that the last tech said there was a 30 day warrantly and he said that they could not warranty frozen pipes (I understand that the last tech misinformed me). He rudely and sternly said to me twice, "Mam, I will only do it for you one time." Shortly after, as I was in the family room he left and drove off without saying anything to me! Our washer was pulled from the wall and the pipes were hanging out and stuffed into my bucket that he used without asking. He just left without saying anything and leaving a mess! I called Cregger immediately and one of their supervisors called me. He called around to find out which tech was at our house because I didn't know Kevin's names since he did not introduce himself. He was apparently on his way back to our home. Now.... where did he go? Why didn't he tell me he was leaving? I was very appalled by this rude and unprofessional service so I requested a different tech. The next day, Kevin F. (thinner built) came out and he was very pleasant and professional. His professionalism and customer service was night and day compared to the bigger Kevin. In addition, he thoroughly accessed our pipes and he quickly knew why our pipes were freezing. He noticed that cold air was blowing through our siding and into the wall where the pipes were so he suggested that I buy fiberglass insulation ($9.00) to stuff it in between the siding and in the wall. He also suggested insulating that wall. So far, the pipes have not froze the last few days. Kevin F. made up for the F rating I was going to give. He was polite, professional and correctly diagnosed my issue with the pipes. Rebecca, the receptionist was also very professional and helpful over the phone. Thank you.

It turned out good. They were punctual, friendly and professional.

We were very happy with it. It was very good. It was fine. The water was dripping a little bit after he had done the job. He came back and he couldn’t find it. Then it stopped all by itself. I really don’t know what the problem was. The problem was solved as far as we're concerned.

They were very helpful and informative. I have no complaints at all. I paid $700 additional to the Angie's List coupon. I didn’t shop around for price but I thought it was fair. They were very good.

They helped find something wrong with my sewer line and it backed up. It was stressful. However, they were good to work with and very professional. They also cleaned up after themselves and were punctual.

Service tech arrived on time. Described and explained the work to be done and the cost. Work was done quickly. Service tech cleaned area after completing work. We used a discount coupon from Angie's List to save $89.00. Received a follow-up call 3 days after work was complete making sure everything was working O.K.

Jeff was punctual and very professional. He slipped off his boots upon entering my home (I very much appreciate that) assessed the problems quickly and efficiently and got right to work snaking out that drain. He put down a tarp on the laundry room floor to place his equipment on and left everything tidy and clean. He is very knowledgeable and explained things to me thoroughly. I appreciated that. He looked at other issues and gave me a quote. I am a widow and like so many others like me we need reliable honest contractors, ones that we can call upon again when we need a service. I was very pleased.

October 22, 2013-Worker (Chris) can to fix drip in bath tub. Only one faucet needed repair, told I had to do both faucets. Worker did not bring cold water cartridge with him. Said it was out of stock. Had to come back. October 28, 2013-Same worker came with the cartridge for the cold faucet. Note: The cold water faucet started leaking in January, 2014, three (3) months later. Had to call for third visit. Called to report leak. Appointment set for January 30, 2014. January 30, 2014- No show. I recorded it on my desk calendar. January 31, 2014- Same worker (Chris) came, stated that he NEVER did the cold water. Another charge would be involved. He was argumentative as he insisted he did NOT do the cold water cartridge. I asked him to look at his own work order stating he replaced the cold side. He finally lowered his voice tone. He went outside. He finally admitted he had done the cold, too. He completed the work, but I was a nervous wreck. Note: I thought all was well until December 18, 2014 (10.5 months later) when the HOT water could not be turned off at all. It was turned on to take a bath, but it could not be turned off. It was on full flow. We panicked. I called Cregger Plumbing, explain the emergency. In the meanwhile, my daughter had to try and find the water shut off valve in the basement, but some worker had taken the tag off the right valve. Lots of pipes are down there. We are in a three(3) Unit Condo. I could not go down two (2) flights of stair due to a fractured leg and torn Meniscus in my knee. As a Disabled Senior, I felt helpless. My daughter just turned off the Main valve to the building. It was a large RED knob and we were very familiar with it as we were told it shuts down the whole building! We could not let "scalding" hot water run all night. When Cregger called, the person (Rebecca) stated that it would cost $155 just to come. I told her they did the job, so they need to make it right. I explained that the lady next door had a baby and we had to shut down the whole building. Her tone was uncaring and the cost was stated again. My daughter was making calls to Maintenance to locate just our shut off valve. I ask Rebecca to call first thing the next morning to schedule. She didn't. I called and was told that they could not come to do the work. They had a big job to do. Perhaps they could come in 3-4 months. I felt insulted. After explaining the emergency, and asking many questions, she put the owner, Derek, on the phone. Derek is the reason I am writing this report. Poor workmanship and unprofessional behavior of workers happens; however, blatant disrespect can not be accepted or ignored. Derick stated that I had written a bad report to Angie's List for the last job they did and he was not going to fix the problem. I stated that there were serious issues with the last job (see report) and Angie" List requires accurate information. I also, stated that I told the truth. I hope he was not implying that I should have written a favorable report when too many unprofessional practices occurred. They were past issues, so I returned to the present emergency. As I was telling him about my neighbor's baby, the state of the building, etc., he continued to interrupt, cut me off and literally told me, "I'm doing the taking" in a harsh and disturbing manner. He went on to say I was out of warranty; however, the last visit was January 31, 2014. He was incorrect on that one year warranty. Thank God they did NOT come out. Another company came, fix the hot water, and the charge was far less than what I was charged by Cregger Plumbing. They also found a long three(3) inch wood screw in the cold faucet. That was most certainly unprofessional. As a Disable Senior, I'm sorry to say I've heard of these kinds of things, but I never thought it would happen to me.

Great! Keith came out and was very knowledgable and thorough. Checked the main, replaced a cap. Filled me in on what he was doing at all times. Great price, took a coupon I had from AL.

I always deal with Cregger because I have had excellent service on many occasions. Everything went fine again. It was a little disappointing that the cost of this service had gone up from $200 to $275 this winter, but that is the only issue I would have. It is an excellent company and I remain loyal to them. I always recommend them to friends.

Charles did an awesome job. First he analyzed the problem and said that the existing Kohler faucet could not be repaired. Second, he explained to me why it was loose, and why it was leaking. I had to run out to buy another faucet, and Charles made another call, and came right back and installed the new one. It is great. No more leaks. Charles was courteous, skilled, efficient, and knowledgeable. I liked understanding why it was not working. He also gave me another quote for a sump pump piping repair for the spring. Cregger Plumbing is very professional, and efficient. I got a phone call immediately after purchasing my coupon from Angie's list. They came the very next morning. They called me to let me know when Charles was on his way, and when he was returning to my home to complete the faucet installation. I appreciate the courtesy, and great customer service from Holly, and others. I will use Cregger Plumbing again. Great job! Thank you! A+++

The plumber was on time with a heads up phone call in advance. He prepped his work area, completed the work and then cleaned up after himself. Great service that I'll use again.

They came out the day after I called for a free estimate. I needed it done immediately and they were able to do the work right then. He was polite, professional and did an excellent job. I used one of their coupons where I paid $111 for $200 worth of work, which meant I saved $89 off of the bill which made the price more reasonable.

I called in the morning for service and had Tim working on my drain by mid-afternoon. He was courteous and professional, and worked efficiently to clear a large clump of roots from 10 feet down the line. The drain is working great now, and he suggested measures we could take to keep it from happening again.
