Had a sales rep come measure and give us an estimate for new vinyl windows. He was very polite and not a pushy salesman. He showed us the window along with two other windows from his compeditors that were a bit flimsy, no other salesman had competitors windows with them. Overall we loved the window, liked that is was not only made in the United States but also in Michigan. Things got put on hold due to our need to close on old home first and even though he was willing to stop out again I think he gave up on us. We looked at other windows and ended up deciding on Polar Seal windows due to their quality and the fact that they are made in Grand Rapids, MI where we live and offer a superior warranty. I would say it was a tough decision though, I would feel confident with Weathergard as well for sure. No hard sell, only issue with them and others is the need to talk down other windows instead of taking more time to really showcase the positives of their windows.

We contacted WeatherGard to get a quote to replace five of our old wood frame windows and we were so impressed by the quality of their product that we decided to have them replace every window in our home. We weren't planning on making such a large investment in our home at this point but once we learned about their windows we felt that the increased safety, noise reduction and energy savings from the new windows would be worth it. Our sales rep, Marvin Chappell was excellent. He was not pushy at all but he did a great job demonstrating the benefits of the new windows. Increased Safety: During the demonstration, Marvin slammed a metal tool into his sample window incredibly hard and we were shocked that it did not shatter. I have never seen anything like it! Also, they manufacture the window frames in a way that makes it impossible for anyone to remove the glass from the outside (unlike Hanson's and Wallsides). I was convinced that I needed this indestructible glass on at least every first floor window. Noise Reduction: WeatherGard uses the thickest glass out there for residential windows and it really shows when it comes to noise reduction. I have read other reviewers who have written about the same thing and this was important to me. I am happy to no longer be woken up by our neighbor's barking dog. :) Energy Savings: This part of the demonstration was also pretty amazing. I am usually skeptical of heat lamp demonstrations because it's hard to know if the sales rep is actually using an accurate sample when it comes time to demonstrate on their competitor's product. In our case we actually had a wallside window in our home that was installed a year ago so Marvin was able to demonstrate on our actual window. First he held the heat lamp to our old wood frame window and had my husband stand outside. The glass was so hot that my husband couldn't touch it for more than a second without burning his hand. Next we tried the heat lamp on the wallside window and while it wasn't nearly as hot as the older window there was still definitely heat coming through the glass. When it came time to try the heat lamp on the WeatherGard window we were amazed because we weren't able to feel the slightest bit of warmth coming through. The side with the heat lamp was scorching hot and the other side was cool. We received quotes from Hanson's and Wallside as well and while WeatherGard was slightly more expensive the price difference was nothing compared to the difference in quality that WeatherGard had over the other two windows. Also, WeatherGard has way better reviews and a much better history on the Better Business Bureau so I knew I would be able to count on them to stand behind their warranty. One more selling point for us was that the design of WeatherGard's frame makes it impossible for dangerous mold to form. I did a bit of research on the windows Hanson's uses (they order all of their windows from a company called Alside) and these windows have been known for having issues with moisture and mold. I was able to get this info by doing a quick google search on Alside Windows and reading through some forums. This will be our first winter with the new windows and I am eager to see what kind of savings we will have on our heating bills. I will definitely post a follow-up review once we are able to see if these save us as much money as I think they will.

The product has a great guarantee which was important in that the previous door-wall had completely fogged up. Salesperson was very knowledgeable and friendly and the price was what we needed. We made it clear we were NOT interested in estimates on replacements for other windows and that was honored. (several companies seemed to want to show us all their products and sell us more than wanted) It did take more than 6 weeks to get it installed (built) which was longer than we had hoped - but was within the time-frame quoted in the contract-- although longer than the salesperson had said he thought it would take. Installers were later than expected and we had to call to find reason for delay, but they did a good job and cleaned up well. We would certainly look at them if and when we want further replacements.

The whole process was extremely smooth! Our windows were ready in a month. The install crew was probably the best part of the whole experience. They called a half hour out and started work immediately upon arrival. They were extremely courteous, cheerful, answered all questions and appeared to like each other and their work. We went with this company for their quality and the fact that this product is "made in Michigan". We are not disappointed!

I was very pleased with the work done. They were punctual, polite, worked quickly, cleaned up and did an extremely professional job. The windows have a titanium element blended into the glass that provides screening from the sun. It's possible to feel the difference between this glass and regular glass by holding your hand in the sunlight coming through the window. I recently had them quote on replacing the windows at the back of our house and the quote was less per window than the first job. I highly recommend them.

The entire process was top notch. The salesperson delivered as promised. The installation crew was prompt, professional, neat, and courteous. This was a large job on a neglected 60 year old house, and everything was done in 2 days. The outside trim looks great, and they took extra time to neatly cover all areas around the windows. These folks really take pride in, and enjoy their jobs, and it shows. They took time to explain their procedures, and were happy to answer my questions. They cleaned up inside and out, and hauled everything away. Not the least expensive company, but definitely worth the extra little bit for the quality of the windows

Salesman showed up after our initial call at the time he said he would. He had not only his products to show us but competitors as well. We noticed immediately the difference in the other brands as compared to Weathergard. At first we were just in the market for a quote, and feeling no pressure to purchase at this exact time. Upon discussion among ourselves we felt this was the best product for the money on the market. We had also spoken with our neighbors who had Weathergard installed, and they felt the same way.
Description of Work: The quality of the windows are excellent. Noticed savings in my energy usage already. Windows and new patio door also decreased the outside sounds. Installers were very professional, on time, and very meticulous. They even did a great job of cleaning up after themselvess. Our salesperson took his time so we could understand the other products available on the market and was not high pressure whatsoever. We would highly recommend Weathergard to anyone out there looking for replacement windows. They are well worth it.

The two salesmen at first refused to give me their sales pitch because my husband wasn't home. After much fussing and supposedly calling the office, they made it seem like they were doing me a favor by going ahead with their spiel. The spiel was an old-fashioned good cop/bad cop routine. Even if their windows turned out to be superior, I would not choose them just on principle. I can't believe they are using this sales approach.

We are very happy with the entire job. We have a new top-grade roof on our house and our garage. Gone are the dated looking silver roof caps replaced by a modern Smart Vent for a seamless appearance. The old cedar shake siding which was crumbling has been replaced with modern vinyl siding, along with windows, gutters and we now have gutter caps which will eliminate clogged gutters with leaves every fall. Our house looks SUPERB. We now have something we haven't had in a long time -- it's called -- curb appeal. I've noticed cars slowing down when passing our home and the admiring looks. I can't thank Shlome Benezra and his team of workmen enough. They were quick, professional and followed up each segment of the job with calls and emails to make sure we were pleased. We are extremely pleased. Our house looks brand new and we have WeatherGard to thank for that.
Description of Work: Our 25 year old roof was replaced early April 2013. The materials were delivered prior to installation. The workmen arrived on time and stripped the old roof down to the plywood. As they progressed some old wood had to be replaced before the new shingles were installed. The roof men made quick work of putting the new roof work on. The roof on our garage was also replaced at the same time. They brought a truck to hold the debris instead of a big, heavy dumpster. The six workmen completed the job in one day and did a complete cleanup of the property by 7:00 pm. The owner, Shlome Benezra, personally came by to check on the progress of the work. We were extremely pleased with the roofing job. We have contracted for windows, siding and gutters and gutter guards using WeatherGard.

We just had new windows installed and we?re very pleased with the overall process. When shopping for windows, we also looked at 2 other major window manufactures in Michigan. Their products were nice, but not as robust as WeatherGard. We were told going into this purchase that it will cost slightly more than the others, and we could see why? they are certainly a superior built product, and worth the extra cost. We were kept informed during the entire quote - purchase ? install process which is important for us because of our busy schedule. On the day of the install, a team of 3 installers arrived and got right to work. These installers were very friendly, professional and highly skilled. It was so encouraging to see how well they worked together? each one new exactly what was needed to be done. Once they finished up, everything was cleanup and all the old stuff was completely removed. We are very pleased with the new windows and sliding door? this was definitely a great investment in our home.

Their estimated price was quite low, but we thought their window frames looked too large and would take up too much of the glass area. Also, they high-pressured us to sign with them immediately before we could think it over or get any other estimates in order to get their low price, which we thought was unprofessional.

I was looking for a company who would install insluation. I found weathergard through an ad left on my door. I called them, they sent a sales rep. He explained the serivice, he went up in the attic. He told me I did not haver enough insulation and required 14 to 16 inches of insulation to be effective. I told him provide me a quote, he measured the house and provided a quote. Once I received the quote, I decided to hire this company. We scheduled them to perform the service approximately one month later. In the meantime I received a phone call from another sale rep, he explained he was required to come out to re-evalute the first rep. The second gentleman was not polite at all. First mistake he assumed by my last name was spainsh, i would speak spanish, that was not the case. Next he made comments about my new windows and the company who install them made a mistake by having the same color on the outside as ther inside. I explained to him I picked everything about my windows. Once he was done insulating my house, he told me that what the first gentleman gave me was incorrect and he was going to have to remeasure the house. He came back with an increase of what the first quote was. The increase was approximately $2000.00 dollars more. I was shocked, although I needed the insulation before winter. I decided to allow them to install the product. On the day of the installation of the insulation, the personnel showed up. The minute they looked at the house they knew they did not have enough to complete the job. I called weathegard main office and asked how a hugh mistake could happen. Especially since the house was measured twice. The same sales rep told me it was the subcontractor fault, the subcontractor showed me the paperwork they received, which was such a mess, I would have not be able to make it seems out of it. So the main office and I got into a heavy discussion which I told them this company was not customer oriented or did not have a good customer service program. The subcontractor talked to me and tried to calm me down, which it not work. Although the subcontractor made an very good effort to fix the problem. They asked me if they could come back in the morning with the correct amount. I told them, yes. I would not use the company ever again.

Weathergard told me my windows would not be ready until late Oct- early Nov. They called early Oct and said they were ready to install. We decided on Oct 6 and they arrived by 9AM. The two installers were exceptional. Thet covered all work areas with dropcloths, explained and answered all my questions graciously and were very good about cleaning up when they were done. They took the time at the end to show us how the various windows worked and provided a survey for me to fillout on their work. We are very satisfied with the window and the workmanship.
Description of Work: I was looking to replace eight windows on my home. Last year, I started the process by replacing 10 windows. I was looking to get 3 estimates including the company that did my original job last year. although that company gave a good price, I was not satified with their inability to fix my leaky doorwalls over the past year. One company could not get out for a month so I wrote them off. I chose weathergard even though they were the highest bidder. In my mind, they had the best window and offered a lifetime warranty. When I told them that they were somewhat high in the bid they offered to lower it by $600. That sealed it for me!

This past Saturday, myself and fiance were approached at my home to get a window installation quote from Weathergard. We were in the process of restoring (scraping, painting) the original wooden windows, so I didn't think that we would be classified as a good candidate for future work, or maybe we were. Regardless, we decided to take the gentleman up on his offer to set up a meeting scheduled for late evening. The week in question I was pulled onto a different job which required me to be at work for 12-13 hours getting me home at 6:30 each night. That being said, on Monday 10 September, I was contacted 5 minutes after the scheduled meeting time, and informed that the service representative would not be able to make it out that evening. The individual was very courteous and explained the situation, so I was fine to reschedule (just wish I was updated earlier on in the day). It seemed that there was a requirement that my fiance was present during the meeting as well, but she has no interest in the technical situation of estimates (only color decisions). We decided to re-schedule the estimate the following day, and I thought we were fine and good (per the scheduling WG representative). However, 10 minutes after the scheduled meeting time I was contacted by a different individual and regretably informed that the service representative would not make it again. Fool me once; Shame on you, Fool me twice; Shame on me. Two days in a row the meeting was canceled at the very last minute, so at this point any intent we had to get 18+ windows to include doorwall, bays, and glass block installed went right out the window. I completely understand that situations come up in the business, but two days in a row is a bit much. A few days later I was contacted again by the original representative to set up another estimate during the weekend. Normally I would be all for setting something up because he was professional/courteous, but don't want to stand around waiting for someone and them not show. Since myself and my fiance were restoring my original wooden windows on my home, we were really not thinking about getting a full window replacement. However, if the price was right we were open for consideration considering we are planning to stay in the home for roughly 10 years. I am not saying that I won't give Weathergard another chance down the road, but they will have to make it worth my while financially...
Description of Work: A Weathergard representative approached me while performing window restoration on my home, and insisted that I take a small amount of time to schedule a free estimate for services. Why not, the windows will need to be replaced soon (about 20 years old).

We enjoyed the knowledge we gained from the representative that came to our home for a quote. Weathergard came highly rated on Angies list and from a few friends. We were expecting the price to be higher from what we had heard. The price was more than 2K higher than wallside. The quality we felt was worth the price. The downside was a big downside. The salesman put a lot of pressure on us. It was very uncomfortable. This price included $1500 off that was only valid for today. If we didn't sign today we weren't getting the discount. There financing had high interest. He didn't want to take no. We wanted to let him know tomorrow. Apparently, being adults and wanting to think about it for a night to make a rational decision isn't ok. We don't like to be pressured or forced to make a decision. This is a large purchase. He ended up leaving in a rush and not being polite about it. And I forgot to mention he was at our house for over 2 HOURS! It was way to long and we were exhausted. In the end we decided to go with Wallside. The quality is less. We are only staying in our home a few more years. That complied with the lower cost, interest saved plus the extra $1500 we would have to pay for not buying same day with weathergard. Will save us almost $5000. If you plan on keeping your home for along period go with weathergard. Product is superior. If you aren't staying long I would go with wallside.
