I took a day off to be at home while they do work in our house, but they arrived at around 11am, took >1.5hrs lunch break, and stayed at home until 7-8pm to complete the job. I guess it depends on a particular handyman to work with, but they didn't look very professional. I had a few other things to complain, but there was no follow-up from their office of how the job was done.

+ 0 moreI was happy to have Patrick finish the job and not just give me an estimate. With the rains coming this weekend I didn't want to chance a leak. He took a good look from ground level and saw the siding pulled away from the house.He gave me an estimate and I accepted it. He got his ladder and went to work.He did a good job and was done within 30 minutes. I did have the Angie's coupon for a 5% discount so that was helpful too. I will certainly request him again should I need assistance in any other jobs.
Description of Work: Patrick arrived and looked at my siding that was pulled away from a wind storm. He said he'd used stainless steel screws and check the whole back side of the house to be sure no other siding was loose. All looked well and he was finished quickly; 30 minutes.

+ -1 moreI needed a patio door repaired for a tenant of mine so I decided to contact HandyPro because of their good reviews here. The rep that was to stop by for an estimate never showed up, so I rescheduled with a new rep. The second rep showed as planned and quoted me the labor and parts for the repair. Unfortunately, coordinating the repair visit(s) became a chore and my tenant was not happy with the fact that it was difficult to schedule a time that fit his schedule vs. that of the HandyPro rep's. Ultimately, the overall experience was average, and I will likely try another company for any future maintenance/repairs.

Description of Work: Jeff fromn Handy Pro was fantastic. I had several jobs that he and others completed on time and to the penny. I was bringing a foreclosure up to code. I heeded to have one whole room rebuilt as well as a ceiling replaced in my bathroom and other small item He also installed vinyl siding after replacing the wall and windows underneath. He had a subcontractor install the gutters. WHen the man didn't get it done on the date promised, he jumped into action and made surethat the worker did it right away.

I would probably use them again if needed. We just wanted to go in for somebody who specializes in bathrooms and that's why we went with another company, but we could have used HandyPro again.

+ 3 moreHe came out to do an estimate and to look at all the things that needed to be fixed and when he came back he had all of the materials needed to complete the job. It was reasonable. I felt sorry for him because it was really hot outside. He was doing a lot of work outside. He was a little late the first time I saw him, but he explained to be he had an issue that he had no control over, but it would have been nice if he would have called to let me know.
Description of Work: Handypro Handyman Service Inc came out because we had a toilet that had repairs that needed to be done, landscape lighting that had a bunch of light bulbs that needed to be replaced, a faucet outside that was leaking and needed to be fixed, a ceiling fan with an electrical problem that needed to be fixed too, and just a lot of little things.

+ 0 moreThe issues with committing to prompt completion of work , due to the dywall person's difficulties made this a headache, although quality was decent . Cost though was excessively high for this kind and amount of work. I appreciate the owner at least following through on staying with the estimated bill - as we had to discuss/argue each others point of reason for what we think is fair. These guys had a real sense of pride in their company's image, quality or work, and demeanor ; but I think some humility would do them some good.
Description of Work: I asked for an estimate to do several different jobs for my small bathroom repair/remodel work, the company manager/owner arrived to listen to my needs and then explained how hos company would perform the jobs. This was thorough and well discussed as John stated that their methods involved listening /paying attention very closely to customers and then giving precise descriptions of work process and the cost bid for job. The cost for my first needed work was for drywall on the ceilings of 2 small bathrooms and a tiny linen closet ceiling, this cost was admittedly high as John stated for 2 reasons ; one being that he "squeezed me in before the Thanksgiving holiday , and it was because they have one drywall specialist whom is very good at his work and is expensive to keep as a full time dedicated employee. Drywall guy came late by an hour , then had to go back to stores to get needed material to do drywall job ?! I signed for the job and had half of the work done before the holiday ( the area of greater need being the shower ) and also noticed that some of the taping was not complete in this area . When the 2nd appointment was made, no one shown up, no calls either. So I called office secretary and had gave me apology , then set another appointment. 3rd appointment was cancelled do to drywall guy's personal emergency issue -asking for another day, so I agreed. 4rth appointment finally arrived as scheduled and completed work, good job on drywall of ceiling areas. But REALLY expensive . I had to press the owner to have the last bit of work completed under the original estimated amount which was $434., which drywall guy asked me to sign another contract for extra cost to $469. ; so I said this is all I want to pay for a rather small amount of drywall work . We finally came to an agreement , but it was stressful.

+ 1 moreI used three different people from Handypro Handyman Service Inc for quite a bit of time. They were all very good. I used them for my mother’s house in Michigan and I live in Boston. They were in and out for a period of two weeks. I had a mason and he did a very nice job. He repaired the porch and the sidewalk. The other two people were handymen who did a lot of different small repairs and did a little bit of plumbing that didn’t require a licensed plumber. They were prompt. They called when they were going to come over. They were on time. I was very pleased with their work. They were all very pleasant to work with too. They were very helpful. They returned calls very promptly. Their prices were based on the work they did; it was fixed for each task. I don’t know how it compares with other people because I haven’t had this kind of work done before. I don’t know the prices in Michigan either. The office that handled the arrangement was also very good. They were responsive. They were very good about setting everything up. Handypro is like an agency and when one calls them and specifies what one needs then they select from the team of people they have for that specific work.

+ 1 moreTheir price was way too high. I needed the deck stripped and refinished and he said that they had done 500 decks in the past as far as refinishing goes. They came out there and were using a mix from Home Depot. It was like a stripper and a cleaner which was completely the wrong stuff. I did decks when I was in college and I know that you put down a stripping agent first which you can get in a hardware store. You strip down the deck first and then refinish it. He told me that he was going to put the cleaner/stripping agent through his power washer and using it dilated and that was completely the wrong way. He came home and was able to strip it down. He told me over the phone that he would come back the next day with his palm sander and other tools, and I canceled the service for them to finish the deck at that point since they had no idea what they were doing. I had another company that only did decks to come out to do the work. They got it done and did a perfect job. They were a couple of hundred dollars less than what Handypro had quoted me to do the deck portion of the work. The quality was very good on some pieces of the work like the drywall. The work was really good and his painting was really good but it was terrible when he came to do the deck. They were professional as far as following up and being in contact and everything. They are good for drywall and painting but I wouldn't use them for anything past that. They charged me what they had quoted but they also charged me another $300 for parts and stuff and this was not mentioned in the quote. I had gone through the quote and accepted it but I had assumed that it included part and pieces as well but that was not the case and they ended charging me more, and at that point, I just wanted to be done with them.
Description of Work: Handypro Handyman Service did a bunch of drywall work and painted a bay window. I also intended to have them refinish my deck in the back but I canceled the service midway.

+ 0 moreI've used them before and they've done a fine job, but for some reason they never called back.
Description of Work: The window casings and woodwork needed to be resanded and varnished. Then on the outside the windows needed to be recaulked. I set up an appointment with him and he said he was running late. It was raining and we would have to go outside to look at the work that needed to be done. I had to open up the casement windows for the project and was worried about the rain, so I called him to reschedule. He never called to reschedule or come back by to due the work. He also said he would be out if he was in the neighborhood. I just wanted the weather to fairly decent in order to do the work properly.
