Found problem and fixed it.

I contacted Haley Mechanical because our thermostat was not properly registering the temperature and would only turn on our heat at random times. The temperatures were in the single digits to below zero. When I called Haley Mechanical, the person who took my call was extremely helpful. He asked really good questions to try to get a better understanding of the problem I was having with my thermostat. He even went through a list of things to see if I checked them to make sure a service call was warranted (like did I check the batteries). I really appreciated this. Dan came out to do the service call. Dan was fantastic. He confirmed my suspicion that we just had a crappy thermostat installed. He also, as a precaution and to save us another service call in the future, cleaned the heat sensor on our heating system. He even showed me where it was and how to clean it. As for the thermostat, Dan did not have a thermostat that he could install on hand. He offered me two options. He could go purchase one and install it or he could show me what I need to do, and I could go purchase one and install it. Dan noted that the second option would be cheaper, and I could choose the thermostat I wanted. I went with option 2. I can't thank Haley Mechanical enough. I will absolutely call them again the next time I need a heating/cooling service call. It is beyond wonderful to deal with a business who is so customer service focused.THANK YOU!

Given the onset of warmer weather, the large amount of snow on the ground and the impending possibility of rain, the Village of Dexter sent out an email recommending residents of the village check to make sure their sump pumps were operating properly. Following their recommendation, I checked my sump pump - poured water into the sump pump crock until it was almost full and the pump did not activate. This was on Thursday, Feb. 20, 2014. On Friday morning, February 21, 2014, at about 8:30 a.m. I called Haley Mechanical to request they send out a plumber to check out my sump pump. I was scheduled to have a plumber come out between 2: 00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. the same day. At about 11:00 a.m. I received a call from Haley Mechanical, they had had a cancellation and asked if would it be possible for the plumber to come out right then. In about 30 minutes Erik arrived. Upon inspection, Erik determined that my existing sump pump needed to be replaced. We discussed my options and he quoted me the price of $475.00, complete. I must admit, I have no idea if this is/was a reasonable charge or not. However, it was obvious I needed a new sump pump, so, I gave the OK for replacement and the job was complete in about 30 minutes. (Since having the pump installed, I have done some research on the cost of pumps, etc. and believe I was overcharged for the installation of the new sump pump. On retail the pump costs anywhere from $145 - 175. The labor to install the pump at $300 + for the 45 minutes Erik was at my house seems exorbitant - possibly taking advantage of an emergency situation.) In closing this commentary, I would like to mention why I called Haley Mechanical in the first place. This is the second time I have used their services - the first was for a furnace and A/C tune up. Each time I have contacted Haley Mechanical, the first time I stopped by their office on Baker Road and made a face to face contact - this time I made the contact over the telephone, I have been treated like a valuable customer. The scheduler was polite, friendly and genuinely made me feel like my business was appreciated. This friendly attitude was followed up by a friendly and efficient service provider - this time by a man named Erik. Regarding Erik... he is the kind of employee all employers desire.

Haley Mechanical was very easy to work with, from scheduling the service to having the technician out to the house. The humidifier needed some service and a filter replacement and the technician also gave us a lesson on servicing it ourselves. They were very upfront about pricing. Thank you so much.

They were professional throughout and did what they promised. When I called the morning the part was supposed to be there they knew exactly who I was, told me they had the part in hand and when the repairman would be at my house to install it. My furnace was working by that morning.

When we called at 4 am, we received a phone call back from the answering service within 15 minutes. The repair person arrived before 6 am and fixed the problem before 7 am. They were courteous, friendly, and professional. This is the second time they've bailed us out of a jam. The last time was in the summer when our air conditioner failed in the midst of a heat wave. These guys are great and I highly recommend them.

It began with my air conditioner running non stop. They came out to help right away. Corrected the problem. Then I thought I should have my furnace checked over. Came out and changed the filters, found a problem and ordered part. Corrected that as soon as the part arrived in spite of furnace being tucked in crawl space. Staff helpful and professional. Called when in route and were pleasant. I would use again!

Came home around lunch time and our house was 58 degrees and falling. Called Haley Mechanical who had fixed a roof vent the previous month and there were able to have a technician arrive at my house in about an hour. The technician was punctual and professional and was able to fix the issue within a half-hour. The ignitor on our furnace had failed and he installed a new one.

My furnace started making an incredible noise on Christmas day :-( Not wanting to make an emergency call on Christmas, I waited until the 26th, and I called Haley Mechanical right when the opened. They made an appointment for 12:30 that day, and the technician showed up right on time. Before entering my house, he put on those little bootie things to keep my floors clean (nice!) He was able to show me that the draft fan impeller had self-destructed. He called his shop, and they had a new fan in stock. He went back to pick it up and returned about an hour later (a fair distance considering the location of his shop). He replaced the fan, and subsequently cleaned the draft air supply and return lines, as well as inspecting the rest of the furnace. He gave it a clean bill of health, and went on his way. I was very satisfied with Haley. I will use them again, and I would recommend them to a friend.

We were impressed with the responsiveness of Haley Mechanical. They arrived the same day they were called to our home without heat during the cold snap of January 7 at -15 degrees. When we ran into problems later on in the night we had to call them back. At 10:00 PM they came back to our house and we had heat within an hour and a half. We anticipate calling them for an estimate to replace the furnace very soon. We would recommend Haley Mechanical to our neighbors and relatives.

Dave from Haley Mechanical was friendly and helpful. He explained everything to me about the problem and the work around. He gave me options and suggestions for how to improve my system to prevent this common failure. The price was about what I expected. Perhaps it could have been a little lower but not bad considering how quickly service was provided. There were no parts involved in the repair. Dave took enough time to review the details with us. Dave was considerate about cleaning his boots of snow when entering the home.

This company is fantastic. They were very responsive, professional, and reasonably priced. I highly recommend them and will use them again.

We arrived home from the december holiday to discover that our house was 44 degrees and our furnace was blowing cold air. It was Saturday evening. Our little boy had a cold. We phoned two furnace repair places. Dan from Haley Mechanical returned our call first - within 5 minutes. He asked a few questions to try to diagnose the problem and then offered to be at our house within an hour. He arrived in about 50 minutes. (The other company returned our call but said they couldn't come within an hour). It took Dan about 20 minutes from start to finish to fix the furnace. It was the ignitor. In the process, he also cleaned the sensors inside the furnace to prevent future problems. He showed us the faulty ignition. He also showed us some pointers for caring for our thermostat and heating system, and checked our hot water heater while he was here. He was super friendly, professional and polite. Our house was back to a comfortable temperature within two hours. For after hour, weekend service, Haley Mechanical could have charged a lot. We did pay emergency rates but it was completely reasonable. Even in the calm light of day, we felt really good about the work and the fair price. The owner of the company phoned a few hours after Dan left to make sure we'd been taken care of. That level of professionalism and courtesy really stands out. We are big fans now.

This home was for sale over 3 years. Somewhere during that time the old geo thermal furnace broke beyond repair. This contractor, Haley Mechanical, installed a new geo thermal unit. The new unit required a 1inch drain line for the discharge of water. The existing line was only 3/4 inch. This contractor still installed the furnace, hooked it up, knowing it would break the 3/4 inch line. We are the purchasers of the home. After buying the home and learning of this flagrant disregard for craftsmanship and oh yes 4 & 1/2 gallons of water flooding our crawl space per minute during furnace operation, Haley Mechanical's simple response was, "you're not the customer and the real customer did not want to pay for the proper installation." To add insult to injury, the square footage of this home requires a 5- 6 ton unit. Haley Mechanical installed a 3 ton unit knowing it would not heat the home properly. Their craftsmanship has left ductwork hanging by wires. Once again their response was the customer didn't want to pay for correctiong these problems. This contractor believes in take the money and run and should have never attempted to do a shoddy job. If you can't do it right, don't ever attempt it. Professionals--never, maybe professional rip-off artists.

Our service was scheduled between 2-4pm and Dan arrived at 2:05pm, great! He was very friendly, cordial and professional. He first serviced the furnace that was not working, got it fired up and in good working order in a short time by caring for a few sticky parts. No replacement parts as of yet. The second furnace was cleaned, filter changed, checked and serviced, good to go! Excellent service!!! We have used Haley in the past but Haley is now our ONLY service provider... Technician arrived few minutes before schedule (awsome). Very friendly explained what was involved in the inspection and cleaning. Went through details of everything he found and things to make sure are kept an eye on for future inspections and cleanings, even if they are not the next provider. Which they will be! He was AWSOME!

The owner went to a lot of the destroyed homes after a tornado to check the gas. They are all very good people. They send us coupons regularly. They do what needs to be done, the clean up well, and order parts in a timely fashion. They are consistently good. I had a problem once with a huge sticker the put on my furnace. They came back right away to remove it.

Tom came out to our house on Wednesday at 5pm after having to reschedule from 12pm the day of due to a family emergency, which I understand. I showed Tom our current system and told him that I was interested in the 5 series waterfurnance water-to-water geothermal system. I told him that I wanted to keep my current airhandler with water coils as well as my current indirect water heater. I told him that I wanted to go with an open loop system. He spent more than ample time at my residence and I thought he understood what I wanted as I had already done extensive research on Geo-exchange as well as waterfurnance's website. He told me that a closed loop system might not cost too much more than a open loop system and indicated that he could include a closed loop system as an optional line item. I told him that sounded good so I could consider it. He said he should have a quote by Monday. Monday came and went and it wasn't until we called him that he told us he was waiting for the owner of Halley to review the quote before he could give it to us. The next Monday Tom called back and we scheduled the follow-up meeting for the next Wednesday at noon so I could come home during lunch and meet with him. Wednesday at 11:45am he called my wife and asked if we could reschedule for 1pm. She told him that should would have to check with me and call him back. We both tried calling him on his cell phone so we could reschedule for later in the day if possible. Both my wife and I left messages on his cell phone. He didn't call either of us back. I called him at 12:50pm to see what time we were meeting. The response was, "I'm on my way to your house right now". I left work so I can get home quickly to meet him. Tom did apologize for me having to chance my schedule twice in order to accommodate his schedule as he said my wife seemed annoyed that he changed the time. He also indicated that he had called the night before and was unable to get ahold of us as well as called earlier in the day and spoke to my 11 year old son who did not relay the message. Tom presented me with the quote that includes a new airhandler, two new water heaters, a closed loop system, and two water-to-water heat pumps that are different models than the one I requested. So the quote included nothing I asked for and cost more than $38,000. Tom indicated that the owner of Haley had looked at the quote and typically adds on additional items but in this case was happy with the quote. Tom asked if the quote was more than I was expecting which I indicated it was since it included all these items I didn't ask for in the quote. He told me he could adjust the items on the quote which I told him I wanted to look at the items and would get back to him after having a chance to digest the information. In the quote there was no price breakdown of items. I kept going back and forth about whether I should give Haley a second chance to re-quote since they did such a poor job listening to what I wanted in the first place. Finally I decided that I would give them the opportunity to re-quote. It has been two weeks since I reached out to Tom for the re-quote and still haven't heard anything. So at this point I have opted NOT to have Haley do the work as I did not having a good quoting experience. I'm sure what they quoted me would have been a good system but it was Not what I asked for. My analogy is that I was asking for a new engine and transmission for my car and instead they wanted to just sell me a new car. I am now having another authorized WaterFurnance installer quote the system I actually wanted in the first place.

Everything went well except: 1. Coil delivery took a while. Not Haley's fault, yet we were without AC for 1 1/2 weeks. 2. Original employee who figured out what was wrong indicated that the payment for that trip would be deducted from the total cost of the fix. Once installed they said that that employee was wrong and it wouldn't be deducted. That was the only issue with price.

We've used several providers and we like them the best. They are very thorough. They don't take short-cuts or cut corners. They are very careful about what they do. They can almost always fix the problem; if not, they are also good at replacing stuff. We've had them put in new water heaters. They have done a lot of hot water heater, furnace and A/C service for us. We have six different rental condos so we use these guys a lot.

After being told by Consumer Powers that they were too busy and just didn't feel like dealing with hooking up my gas line. I called Haley, the service person told me that the gas line that was there wasn't code and wouldn't handle the load of my stove and dryer. He gave me a quote of 500, to run a new gas line, after crawling though a dark creepy crawl space he still had a smile on his face and was very professional. I have used Haley in the past and have always been very happy with their service.

The people at Haley are usually able to have someone out to my house that day or the next and they have dealt competently with the many issues I've had over the years.

The techs were GREAT. Very friendly and professional. The techs were very respectful of our house. I would highly recommended.

I first spoke with Gary on the phone, who was very helpful and professional. Don called us back, and he was also very courteous and professional both on the phone and in person. He came out to answer some questions and give an estimate on work we might be doing on our furnace. We asked a lot of questions about some unusual problems we're having, but he didn't seem rushed. Overall a positive experience.
