Haley Mechanical

This is the first time we've used Haley for our heating and AC systems, and it went extremely well. It was a big job, but they completed it within a day and a half. The sales person, installers, and office staff were all very nice, professional, and easy to work with. The new furnace has been working great and makes the house more comfortable - we got the 96% efficient unit with two stage blower. I would highly recommend them.

Haley installed a new Lennox XC16 air conditioner and EL296V furnace. Thomas Poole, the salesperson, explained everything extremely well and was very responsive to questions. The two installers were generally on time, cleaned up after themselves, and very professional. I wold definitely recommend getting a quote from Haley and strongly suggest considering purchasing from them. The office staff (specifically Carli and Andrea) were helpful and quick to get all of our rebates filed. The only downside to this job is that it took longer than Thomas said it would. I was told that the installation would take 2 days. It took about 2.5 days, and Haley had to come back on a separate day to finish installing our chimney liner. An inconvenience, but nothing major.

We typically have them come out and check the furnace in the fall to double check. I don't have a concern with any of it. They have been always available, always professional, always reliable. I never had any concerns about pricing. They've been easy to work with. They've been really solid professionals.

They handle the air conditioner; they handle water heater, they handle almost all my internal appliance needs. They've done a wonderful job. They've never done anything to cause my jaw to drop or smoke to come out of my ears. The people that they send out to do the work are always top notch. They show up when they say they're going to show up. I have no complaints with them. They've done consistently high-quality work with me through the years. I will use them again and have used them again. I don't remember the cost. They are highly competent, professional, easy to work with and as I say well priced.

The whole job went very smooth. People I have encountered are all very polite, efficient and helpful. On the same day I called, they managed to arrange a time slot to come on site and give me a very thorough quote with several options. The installation crews showed up punctually and delivered clean high-quality work. The system runs perfectly. They also helped me to file DTE and Lennox rebates immediately after the installation is done. With the 10 year parts, 5 year labor, 3 year RESA maintenance warranties, they really offered the best value deal on the market. 100% recommended.

Haley arrived on time for a semi-emergency, squeezing us into the schedule. The plumber assessed the situation and did the repair in a timely and cost-effective manner.

It took a some time to figure out the problem as it was not obvious but nonetheless, he left with the unit working and no upsell pitch even though we know our units are getting quite old. Terry who was the service technician was really very professional. I would definately recommend this company.

My 4.5 year old furnace started turning itself off randomly in Sept 2014. The problem was unpredictable and intermittent making diagnosis quite difficult. Fortunately I could get the furnace to restart by turning it on and off at the service switch. That kept me from freezing while arranging service, however it interfered with diagnosis because it cleared any error signals. The technician who checked it several times could find nothing wrong on his diagnostics and speculation was made that the zone/duct system was inappropriate for the furnace. This didn't make much sense to me since the furnace worked fine with it for several years. An extimate of appx $3000 was made to replace the zone system. I was reluctant to pursue this since I wasn't convinced it was the problem. Additionally it was proposed that keeping the ducts closed in the lower floor was contributing to overheating of the furnace. Manipulating these external factors was the focus for most of the time with Haley since they found nothing wrong with the furnace itself. In the end the reason why I chose to have another company come in was because the dispatcher was rude/impatient with me when I called in yet again that I was having ongoing furnace problems. He said that the owner of the company wanted to come out and look at the furnace (the tech who had been working on the system had asked someone else to take a look at it earlier but this didn't happen. The techs seem to be overbooked, one night Michael called me at 10pm to see if I really needed him to come out that night.). Randy stated that he would call me back and tell me when Henry could come out. He never called me back and I didn't call them to follow up, instead going with the heating and cooling company I use for my business in Ann Arbor. This company identified a malfunctioning blower motor/blower motor module which were replaced under warranty.

There is this current theory that the out of owners are hungrier and more responsive than the ones in the city. This is another data point for that theory. Kurt and Matt came out together from Dexter well after 6PM on a cold day following a cold weekend, correctly diagnosed faulty pressure switches in our furnace, and promptly came out a day later with parts and resolved it was even a warranty item. We were last on their list but they came out anyway. Great job guys, thanks! We'd recommend them again and they are on our re-call list as needed.

Haley installed a tankless water heater for us a year an a half ago. This past week, it stopped working due to a small manufacturing defect in a plastic reservoir tank inside the unit. Joe from Haley came out the same day and discovered that the leak had led to extensive rusting inside the unit. He made a temporary fix that restored our hot water and ordered the replacement part, but continued to press the manufacturer for a complete replacement. A couple days later, another part failed, and the unit flooded our basement (fortunately, we were home and caught it before there was extensive damage. Joe again came back the same day (it was late on a Friday when all this happened). The unit was fried. Haley promised that they would replace the unit without question - they would deal with the manufacturer to get reimbursed. Joe came first thing Saturday morning and completely replaced the unit. Cost to me: zero. What impressed me most was that none of the failures were Haley's fault - this unit just happened to be a lemon. Nevertheless, Haley stood behind the unit they had installed 100%. They could have blamed the manufacturer or said it was out of warranty, but they did not. At no point did I ever have to think that I would have to fight to get them to do the work - they took responsibility immediately. It's unfortunately rare for tradespeople today to exhibit this type of responsibility, but my experience shows that Haley really stands behind their work. There might be cheaper guys out there - I don't know - but I always bring my business to Haley. Thanks!

My sinks are no longer leaking, the work was done well. The faucet handles turn nicely and the water hammer is greatly reduced. The plumbers who visited were friendly and courteous, and carefully covered their shoes to make sure no dirt was tracked in. We had a bit of a wrangle over the price of the work but came to an agreement which I am satisfied with, and I must take some of the blame for that since I did not insist on a written estimate.

Matt was very professional, told me what the costs would be (including the emergency fee) and worked with me to ensure that if he came out we had all the parts on hand. After a few phone exchanges he found out I was still under warranty (which significantly reduced my out of pocket costs.) He came on time and took care of the issue replacing an unusually corroded valve (especially for a relatively new heater.)

I appreciated their promptness in responding to my request for service, despite it being a very busy time of year! I explained the issue and they listened very well. I called at 3:45 and, because it was a quick job, they were able to send someone over by 5:30 p.m. The technician worked very quickly and explained what the issue has been and showed me how it was fixed. A good experience overall.

The technician did a thorough job. He was very professional and knowledgeable, answering our questions and pointing our things to keep an eye on. He replaced the filter on our humidifier and fixed a leak on it. He showed me the old filter compared to the new filter so I would know in the future when the filter needed to be replaced. He checked and cleaned the furnace. He also pointed out some corrosion on the coupling connecting a pipe to the water heater next to the furnace that I hadn't noticed. It cost $140 for the furnace and humidifier service, which I thought was very reasonable. I was very satisfied with the service.

Started work quickly and crew was prompt and professional. Completed full installation in two days. Clean up was thorough and complete. I would give them a very high recommendation to both friends and family in need of this type of work. I would confidently use their services again.

Price was competitive with several other contractors and furnace manufacturers. The work was performed on time and the installation was very professionally done by the two technicians. In addition to the furnace installation, the existing humidifier was relocated to make it more efficient. This required rewiring and replumbing the unit and repairing the prior mounting area. The old furnace and debris was removed leaving the area clean. After the installation there were two relatively minor issues requiring follow-up, which were never responded to. This is the cause of downgrading the overall job from an A to a B.

The work and communications were pretty good. The sales team was good and personable.

They've been very responsive and friendly. They responded to our unique request and we have a storage room and we've asked they have the furnace moved over to one side and that required a whole system and everything. We had a geothermal system and they have to be updated. So, they do geothermal and they were the only ones that extra came back and gave us the quote for doing a whole re-do of the whole kind of our mechanical ramp.

Great! Haley Mechanical provided space heaters until the new unit could be installed and turned on. This happened on the same day the original furnace stopped working. Not only was the new furnace installed within hours of the original one stopping, but the crew that did the work was professional and courteous. Haley was very communicative about the entire process and it went very smoothly. In the end, they delivered exactly what they stated and I was very happy with the work. I would recommend them to anyone.

I liked the people that came out and gave me the quotes. I did have issues with the installers. The rest of it, how it works and their follow up I would say is great.
