Smith and Sons Moving

Smith and Son's Moving Company was wonderful! This was our 5th move in 7years, and all of the other moving companies we've hired were lousy! When I found Smith and Son's, Kevin was very considerate, and made sure he was prepared for our move! Best move ever! I would recommend Kevin and his crew to anyone! They were the best! Thanks to all who worked so hard! Again, great company!

Kevin of Smith & Sons came to my home; took the desk apart in three sections, put it in my basement and reassembled it within 45 minutes. I was very pleased. Kevin knew exactly what to do, he was not standing around trying to figure out how to make it work. Also, the other company has been in business much longer than Smith and Sons. Though this was a small job for Smith and Sons, I would highly recommend them and use them again.

Everything was great. Communications were continuous for the time I requested a quote until they were done. They went out of their way to make sure all of our possessions were protected during the move and went the extra step of taking furniture that did not fit in our new house to our storage unit. Great company to work with. I would definately use them again.

Moving is so stressful but these men made it seem effortless, even though it was a hot day. They made my move a pleasant one, and I was so delighted that they went above and beyond what I expected. They were so quick but efficient and careful, making this the best move I have ever had. If I ever moved again I would be honored if they were the company to help with it.

We reached out to Smith and Sons Moving on 5/7 (via their website "Contact Us" form) and received a response on 5/9. We originally reached out because of two personal referrals for their services. The original quote for our move was about $1,100 (on the high end) which seemed a little high, but we went with them anyway and it was the best quote (and best responsiveness) compared to other movers we contacted. Two movers showed up on time and they were very quick to get started. We showed them what needed to be moved, added in last minute items to the move and they got to work! After our condo was packed up, they took 1/2 hour lunch break before going to the new house. We showed them all of the rooms, and they got to work putting things into our new home, asking along the way to confirm where an item needed to be if it wasn't clear. They also moved our treadmill out of a basement and into another basement, which was no easy feat! They also helped us swap out ovens between our condo and new house - taking the oven from the condo to the new house, and taking the old oven back to the condo - which was so, so helpful. We were very pleased when the overall cost was only $544 - about half than the estimate (granted, we did A LOT of moving boxes ourselves the week prior to hiring the movers, so we really only had big items to move out of our condo). Nothing appeared damaged and we were pleased with the service we received. Would recommend them to others and would use them again!

contacted early the week of June 20 to arrange a quote for moving 3 bed rooms home furnishing from Dearborn to Orlando Fl at 1st contact they asked if they could call back as they were not in the office, I stated I would call them in the morning. Second contact I called as I promised, they informed me that they were booked the days I was available the following week, then they suggested Friday June 24th at 6-6:30 pm I said perfect see you then. Friday about 6 10 pm I called as no one showed up no answer and no one showed up or called. After reading there reviews it seems they are not interested in larger interstate moves, wish they just said that from get go what a waste of time

They were very punctual, friendly, and professional. The movers were very attentive to our directions as to the location of rooms we wanted things moved to in our new home. They worked proficiently and charged a very fair price for the volume of work that was provided in this service. We were also very happy that the crew exercise great care to insure that there was no damage to either home or our possessions. Kevin and Matt were fantastic! We would highly recommend Smith and Sons for all moving needs.

Smith and Sons were fantastic ! Our furniture is mainly old and heavy : sideboards, sofas, beds, desks, large and small tables, and tons & tons of books, along with garden furniture and tools. The movers were punctual, packed where necessary, moved EVERYTHING without getting a scratch anywhere, and handled the whole awful moving job so efficiently that the painful experience we anticipated was made much lighter and easier through their help. Despite the heavy loads and sheer volume of furniture and books, everyone stayed friendly and pleasant. I recommend Smith and Sons unreservedly and can guarantee that they will do a wonderful job.

Prior to the move, Kevin was very responsive to my phone calls and emails to answer questions. During the move he and his team were punctual, courteous and careful. Overall very professional at a fair price and I would definitely use again.

I was perfectly happy with the way it was done; they were on time, they dressed to represent their business well, looking neat and clean. I didn?t find anything in the world wrong with how they moved my things. I?d like to compliment them on showing up in clean clothing; I have in the past hired people to clean up something and they show up dressed in clothes that look like they haven?t been cleaned. They treated my belongings with respect, were nice men who were neat and clean, and their truck was clean, too.

They did a good job. Their truck was but they fixed it.

Home is 60 years old and they dd not have much room to work with. 5 steps going down and then pie shaped steps with very little wiggle room. The washer/dryer is 6ft tall and cannot be separated. They were so quick and knowledgeable they had to be professionals to do this task. I would definitely use them again. They had no doubts from the beginning, without even seeing the appliance that they will get the job done.

Kevin did a great job. He is very professional and charged us a fair and reasonable price. There were no issues, no damage, no problems at all. Wish I would have known of him when I had my big move a year ago. Used a bigger named company and had a LOT of problems (damage to old place and new). Would and will hire him again if the need arises.

Very friendly and professional, did a great job. All wood was covered, nothing was scratched. They charge 90/hr and 90 for the car and travel. Total cost was 450, it was worth every penny

I chose this company because they were local and the price was good. I contacted the Kevin a month in advance to get an estimate for how much it might cost, only big item we had was a washer and dryer. Plus we were moving from the third floor. When I found out what date I was going to be moving I called a week in advance to make sure that date was available and Kevin again gave me cost which was what he had told me before. We had boxed up all our stuff so they only had to move it for us. When the day came, my only complaint was I was called 3 minutes before they were suppose to be there and told it would be another hour. I understand things happen and they came in a different truck so I assumed they had truck issues. However once Kevin and his partner (I don't remember his name) got there they worked until the truck was all loaded (about two hours) and I know it was exhausting because it was a really warm day for September and they were moving our stuff out of a third floor apartment. They stopped for lunch on the way to our new house (I did too since it was lunch time). Kevin and his partner got right to work putting the protective runners down, asking where we wanted our stuff put and started unloading the truck. It took them just under an hour and a half to unload the truck. Kevin and his partner were very professional and friendly. I would definitely recommend them to anyone and will use them again.

The 3 men (Kevin, Matt and Pat) arrived exactly on time and started working immediately. They did a walk through to know what they were moving out and were extremely organized. There were lots of boxes in the basement so they had to deal with lots of trips up and down stairs. They worked hard the whole time and were careful with all of the possessions. They even put the delicate antiques into their van instead of the truck for safety. They only took a few short breaks and took a quick lunch. When they arrived at the new house, it was the same, they did a walk through to know where things were going and started immediately. They wrapped the stair banisters to prevent damage. everything was moved in quickly and in an organized way. Would highly recommend them for their professionalism, organization, carefulness and hard work. At the end, Kevin carefully reviewed the final invoice and it was exactly as we expected. Great job, they made the move go smooth and easy.

This provider was one of many I called who actually did what they claimed they would do. He called me back when he said he would, he came when he promised to, he delivered when he promised to. I cannot recommend him more highly, he was one of the few that I called who DID NOT ask me if I wanted my furniture delivered inside. I had two movers tell me for an extra charge they would deliver it inside, really?? Use this mover.

Smith & Sons moved my mother?s one bedroom assisted living apartment belongings to another assisted living facility (from Oxford to Pontiac). They quoted the job and were able to complete the work in less than five days (which we were most grateful). They estimated the time that they would arrive for the move and called when they were delayed with a prior job to let us know the status of their arrival. When they arrived, they took great care with her belongings and even brought wardrobe boxes that we could use to move her hanging clothing. They completed the move in the estimated time and worked around the time restraints that the assisted living facility put on the use of the elevator.

Kevin, Matt, and Pat were so kind and worked non stop all day. They were amazingly quick and effiicient.....taking great care of all of our belongings. Nothing was damaged, and our floors remained clean. After getting three quotes, they were by far the best value. We are so happy we decided to use Smith and Sons, and would not hesitate to use them in the future or recommend them to others!

They were great, called and asked if they could come early and moved the totes and boxes to my garage . Very efficient. Will use them when I move.emm

Kevin came out to estimate after our second call to him; he got busy the first day and did not get back to us right away. Smith & Sons services and cost were comparable to the large movers we talked to. However, given the size of our move, and the amount of business he had at the time, Kevin called us back within two days to let us know he was not going to be able to take on our move. We appreciated him being honest with us right away, because it gave us the opportunity to find another company within our time window.

Awesome. I could not do it. Scheduled when I needed them. Heavy with a "L" stairs to the basement. Very professional and price was fair for the work performed. They placed the safe right where I needed it.Thanks
