Mick came out and completed estimate. He was on time and took time to explain everything and answer questions. Friendly and honest. He was able to schedule me next day. Mick met the two electricians the next day to start the job so that we were all on same page. The guys that completed the work were also very friendly and did a great job. Best experience I have had with an electrician service. McGuire Electric will be my first call in the future.

Three electricians arrived at the agreed upon time, 9:30, and stayed until 5:30. Although they encountered a problem with short wires that required the installation of additional junction boxes, they stayed with the job until it was completed, and came back the next day to label the breakers. All of the personnel were friendly and very professional.

Called for an appointment. Call was returned right away. Explained problem. Jason and Dave were very professional and patient. Took the time to explain what was wrong. Very nice. Will definitely call them again for future electrical needs.
Matt and Josh were friendly, helpful, and efficient in their work. The owner "touched base" when the job was initiated and was in contact during the work. This is a local business about 1.5 miles from me--I will recommend to other local friends.

Jason came out for the estimate. He arrived timely and was professional. He had some good suggestions regarding the master bath with the location of the new switched and installing a recessed light in the shower stall. He also presented options for running the new dedicated circuit for the heating element of the master bath fan/vent. I had three quotes and decided to go with McGuire based on Jason's professionalism and ideas. The work took two days. On day one, Monday, Jason, Fred, and another man showed up (I'm sorry, I forgot his name). Everyone was courteous. It was raining that day, so I put a broken down box on the floor to help with wet boots and Jason put down a couple of drop cloths. When they were done for the day, they cleaned up. They played music (106.7 FM) which I did not find to be offensive or too loud; someone else may not like the genre or the volume, but it was fine by me. One or two of the guys were smoking, so I closed the doorwall and door to the garage. I didn't see any cigarette butts on the ground, so the smoker(s) must have cleaned those up. I told Jason I didn't care if they smoked outside, I just didn't want to smell it. Day 2 was Matt and Fred. They were both courteous. I was only on-site for about an hour due to work commitments; I was not there for start or finish. I finished paying them before I left and before the work was done. When I came back they were done and gone. I had noticed while I was there Fred had a piece of cardboard to catch debris for the work he was doing outside, which I thought was a good idea. When I returned to the house I inspected the work and everything worked as expected. My only problem was with the mess. They seemed to clean up okay Monday (day 1), but I wasn't around day 2 (Tuesday) when they wrapped up. When I reviewed the work Monday with Jason we quickly went from room to room and I was looking at the fans and not around the rooms. What I noticed after I returned and the workers had finished: There was drywall dust on the bathroom counters, toilets, general surfaces. There were boot marks on the white painted wood backs of the stairs from the main floor upstairs to the level with the bathroom fans. The carpet at the bottom of the basement stairs was filthy. There were some misc debris under the electric meter outside. The toilets were a little grimy (drywall dust mixed with dirt and condensation I think?). I recall reading in an issue of the Angie's List newsletter some homeowners don't like contractors using their bathrooms. I figured I trust these people to come into my house, and I probably like them more than some of my own family and in-laws, so I told the workers go ahead and use the bathrooms. I called Mick, the owner, and he apologized for the mess. He had Matt call me immediately to schedule having someone come out to finish the clean up. Matt also apologized. Fred came out the next morning and cleaned up everything and also apologized for the mess. Based on the messy items I docked McGuire Electric for Professionalism but everything else was great and I would hire them again. Last item: Someone from McGuire's office called to let me know when the inspector was coming out and to call him for the time window within the day. The city inspector came out and looked at everything. He observed no problems or deficiencies; their work easily passed inspection.
Description of Work: Install 100-amp, 32 circuit service change; new riser and entrance cables; grounding including water connections; install bath exhaust fan with timer switch; install second bath fan with heater and two timer switches, including running a new 20-amp circuit for the heat; and recessed can light in shower. (I previously purchased the bath fans, cost of fans not included in this price.)

Mick came on a Saturday to give me a quote. He was willing and happy to come over on Saturday. I had many electric questions that he was willing to answer. Jason and his team (Mick's crew) came out on Monday to install the electric to the garage and install the ceiling fan. I was late coming home so they let them in with the spare and began working. When I got home I was happy to see that there were sheets down on all the carpet to protect from their boots. I'm talking about sheets on the stairs on the bed, everywhere. The ceiling fan was completely installed by the time I got back. At the same time they had already trenched an 18" hole from the house to the garage. They laid underground wire, installed a electrical outlet on the back of the house and quickly ran the electric to the circuit. In the garage they installed an outside motion sensor light, 3 electrical outlets and two inside lights. All in all it took about 5 hours and cost 1000 bucks. Would recommend to anyone and will use in the future.
Description of Work: Installed electric to garage about 45 feet from house. Installed 1 ceiling fan.

Went fantastic. He had some great ideas for relocating service into the house to the other side of the basement. Recommended an upgraded panel with more open slots and higher service. My wife was home while they were working and she said they were great. It was a big job, but they were in and out in less than a full day. Would recommend them again and will be contacting them when I need more electrical work done.

There were 2 outlets not working in the kitchen, one belonging to the refridgerator. I had replaced the outlets and the circuit breaker and the outlets still were not working. Matt and Pat, from McGuire Electric, were very prompt, professional and curtious. I was shocked when they removed their shoes before entering the home, without even being asked! I showed them the outlets and what I had done. They made sure everything was hooked up properly and went right to work on an outlet that was working, that contained the electrical relay to the other 2 outlets. Matt and Pat were quick and efficient. Some items had to be moved to get to the outlets. Matt made sure everything was put back just like they found it. All repair work was done with in 30 minutes; from start to clean up. This was the first time I had used a company from Angie's List, and I call tell you it won't be the last. I am very thankful that Angie's List does exist. Previously, I have had BAD experiences. Never again! Thanks again.

I called McGuire Electric on a Thursday to obtain an estimate. Mr. McGuire showed up on time the very next day and provided an estimate which we then accepted and set up a day to do the work. His employees showed up right on time and worked fast. The job was done exactly as I wanted it! They were professional and reliable!!! Highly Recommend!!!
Description of Work: They raised a low hanging electrical wire in the backyard, removed an unused wired attached to our home and fixed a short in our hallway light. They also fixed a couple of non working plugs.
